I did not see that coming! But it's a really going to suit him playing someone brilliant! Of course he got cast for it.

I'll admit, it'll be jarring to see him play Einstein at his worst. Though, that'll be a testament to his acting being able to perform this unique character.

Tom Smothers (of the Smothers Brothers comedy team) has passed away at 86 from cancer.

Tom and Dick Smothers changed American television forever with The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour-- and eventually lost their TV show-- because they satirized politics (especially Nixon) and religion, combatted racism and protested the Vietnam War (before it was all cool).

They were instrumental in the counterculture of the 1960s.

They also helped launch the career of Steve Martin.

This is the episode that got them fired from CBS, and there is commentary at the beginning and ending from The Smothers Bros talking about how it all went down.

There was an investigation after, and CBS was found to be in breach of contract and had to pay the cast for the show for a full season.

'In a newly-resurfaced interview, J. Robert Oppenheimer reveals his true feelings about the creation and usage of the atomic bomb as seen in Oppenheimer. Christopher Nolan's latest film assembles a star-studded ensemble led by Cillian Murphy as Oppenheimer's titular character. The epic film based on the biography American Prometheus by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin tackles Oppenheimer's involvement in the infamous Manhattan Project.

Reviews for Oppenheimer have been glowing, with critics praising the film's storytelling, Nolan's direction, and the cast's stellar performance. That being said, it's far from a feel-good movie; it leaves viewers uneasy and even afraid in light of Oppenheimer's conflicted feelings about creating the atomic bombs. Years removed from World War II, Oppenheimer sat down with CBS News to reveal his true feelings about the matter. Read his full quote below:

“I believe that the view, which I learned from many, but above all from General Marshall and form Colonel Stimson, the Secretary of War, the view that they had that we would have to fight our way to the main islands, and that it would involve a slaughter of Americans and Japanese on a massive scale was arrived at by them in good faith, with regret and on the best evidence that they then had to that alternative, I think the bomb was an enormous relief. The war started in ’39, that seen the deaths of tens of millions, that seen brutality and degradation, which had no place in the middle of the 20th century. The ending of the war by this means, certainly cruel, was not undertaken lightly. But I am not, as of today, confident that a better course was then open. I have not a very good answer to this question."

It was clear that Oppenheimer was very careful with the way he answered the question. Until the very end, however, he still seemed unsure about the issue.

What Happened To Oppenheimer After Nolan’s Movie

At the end of Oppenheimer, it leaves the titular character in a state of personal crisis as he continues to struggle with his involvement in the creation of atomic bombs. In the interview above, the renowned physicist made it clear that he believed that the bombs were used accordingly based on the data that they were provided back then. This means that he subscribed to the idea that they did what was right according to what they knew. Still, it didn't fully erase the guilt he felt for helping introduce weapons of mass destruction to the world.

After he finished his initial project in Los Alamos, he left it despite an offer to extend, and returned to Caltech, but soon realized that he had lost his interest in teaching. He eventually accepted Lewis Strauss' invitation to spearhead the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey, where he reconnected with fellow genius, Albert Einstein. A peek at their relationship is included in Nolan's film. Despite working on the atomic bomb, Oppenheimer strongly opposed the creation of the hydrogen bomb.

Following being stripped of his security clearance, which was a focal point in Oppenheimer, he opted to stay away from the limelight, choosing to live a more private life. He spent months in Saint John in the U.S. Virgin Islands, only re-emerging for carefully-chosen public appearances that were mostly related to science. Because he was no longer involved with the government, he devoted his time to focus on lecturing, writing, and studying physics. In 1967, just two years after the aforementioned interview was conducted, he died of throat cancer at the age of 62.'

Fan-Favorite Star Returning to 'Criminal Minds: Evolution'

Matthew Gray Gubler, who played Dr. Spencer Reid on 'Criminal Minds,' will make a guest appearance on the spinoff.

The last news we had on Matthew Gray Gubler was his casting as the lead in the CBS procedural dramedy, Einstein, but now it has been revealed that the actor, who played Dr. Spencer Reid in the first 15 seasons of Criminal Minds will be returning as a guest star on the spinoff Criminal Minds: Evolution.

According to TVLine, Gubler will make a guest appearance in an episode of Season 3 of the series (Season 18 overall) that follows the FBI’s elite team of profilers from the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU).

The two series regulars most asked about who have been missing from Evolution have been Gubler and Daniel Henney’s Matt Simmons, who have been mentioned as being “away on assignment.”

The issue with Gubler has been one of scheduling. Since exiting the crime drama, Gubler has starred in the series Dollface and has authored two books Rumple Buttercup and The Little Kid With the Big Green Hand, both made the New York Times bestsellers list.

But now, he will be revisiting his role even if it is only for one episode as he awaits news on his pilot's pickup. If Einstein goes to series, it will be the second time that Gubler is playing a genius who works with law enforcement.

Earlier this year, Criminal Minds: Evolution, showrunner Erica Messer told Parade, "There's always room for him. We went from shooting the show 10 months a year to four months out of the year so it's trickier than you think to be able to get into somebody's window when we don't have basically the whole year to do it. Last season was tricky, too, because the writers’ strike and actors strike had happened, so we didn't know when we were going to shoot so there was no way to really plan on it. Then this year, similarly, we didn't exactly know when we were going to be able to shoot. I will always remain hopeful, and I think he will always remain hopeful that the stars will align, and we'll get to do this again. But like I said, I can't fully speak to the season because we haven't broken the whole season, but I do know that he's busy doing other projects and that's amazing. We want that for him but he's always a part of our family."

When Gubler posted 'it's just around the corner' we all thought he was talking about Halloween because OF COURSE he was talking about Halloween. (The witch costume helped.) Buuuut.... what if he was also hinting at this news about "Einstein...."
