Alex is used to doing the impossible. She’s managed to win cases where the odds are stacked against her clients. She’s fought countless supervillains as Solitaire, protecting Gotham. But all of that is nothing compared to her current challenge— keeping Bruce from working when he’s sick. 

“Put the phone down,” Alex says as she comes into her and Bruce’s bedroom with a bowl of chicken soup. 

He scoffs, but the noise forces another cough from him. As he recovers he says, “People use their phones for more than just work, Alex.”

“Mhm, they do,” she replies, taking a seat on the edge of his bed. “Do you want to show me what game you were playing on yours, then? Since you apparently were doing something relaxing and not work related.”

Bruce grumbles, leaving his phone on the bed’s quilt next to him. The screen is still on, so as Alex takes a seat next to him she can see that he was in fact looking at work emails.

“You’ll get better faster if you rest, pretty boy,” she states. 

“There are people who need me,” Bruce replies.

Alex knows that he’s not just talking about his official work with that. Batman keeps the city safe, and it’s rare that he ever takes a night off. Any criminals who might notice the city’s protector is gone for the night could try to take advantage of that, and that could spell disaster for everyone. 

Bruce is a workaholic in every sense of the word. Alex can’t judge him too much for that, not when she is too. It’s hard to just sit and do nothing, and she’s sure she would be in a similar position to Bruce if she were the one sick right now.

But the longer it takes for Bruce to get better, the less effective he’ll be. And that’s something that Alex can see much more easily than he can right now.

“The city won’t burn to the ground if you take a day or two off,” Alex says. “Cass will be out tonight. Same for Steph, Tim, and Damian. And Duke is handling things in the day to day, and Babs is keeping an eye on things for them too. They’ll be able to handle everything on their own, and I’m sure that they'll be happy to if that means you get better soon.”

“You’re not going out tonight,” Bruce notes with a sniffle.

“Obviously not. I need to make sure my very handsome husband rests so that he can heal up.”

“I’m handsome right now?” he echoes, raising an eyebrow.

He does look a little worse for wear. His nose is red and his eyes look even more exhausted than usual. The stubble he usually has is a bit thicker than usual, and his hair is a tousled mess. He looks pale too, it being obvious just from looking at him that he has a bad fever. 

But he’s still Bruce, and that’s enough to make him very attractive in Alex’s book.

“Mhm,” she says, leaning over to give him a quick kiss on the side of his head. “You’re very good looking. And I think you’d look even better if you ate the soup that I made for you and took your medicine.”

“You’re frustrating sometimes,” Bruce says, but there’s no real annoyance in his voice.

“So are you.” Alex offers him the bowl of soup. “Eat.”

He makes an overly dramatic sigh of acquiescence in response. “If you insist.”

Bruce eats a spoonful of soup, looking at Alex out of the corner of his eyes as if to make sure she’s watching him do what he was told to.

“Thank you,” Alex says.

“The soup is good,” Bruce says.

“It’s canned.”

“It’s good canned soup then.”

“Thanks.”

“Thank you for making it,” Bruce says. 

“You can thank me by resting.”

“I’ll think about it,” he replies.

Alex rolls her eyes. As much as she loves him, he’s frustrating when he gets stubborn like this. 

“Well, I’m going to get your meds. Behave yourself until I come back,” she says, standing up.

“No promises,” Bruce says, interrupting himself with a sharp cough. 

Alex had figured that he would say that. But regardless of whether Bruce will be cooperative or not, she’s going to make sure that he gets better. She’s faced countless challenges in her life, and the last thing she’s going to do is back down when her husband needs some help.

i still am having trouble deciding but the one i gravitate towards the most is him coming back to annoy the s.trangetown people in the hotel specifically for some reason for the first time in a few months and seeing me working there and getting absolutely starstruck and fumbling over his usual speech on how he's gonna take over the town and then he gets so embarrassed he leaves and then can't stop thinking about me as much as he tries to deny it . anyway-

he does aha he's VERY forward, but i do have my moments and he gets so flustered it's adorable aaaa

x.izzle is surprisingly good at comforting others since he had to raise his nephew(who i hc as autistic) basically by himself!! i like to think i do well with comforting him, too. we're both a bit bad at accepting the comfort though- me because i feel like i don't deserve it/that i'm a burden, and x.izzle because he feels like he HAS to be strong no matter what and not accept comfort because he "doesn't need it". he gets better about it tho bc i encourage and remind him that it's perfectly okay to be vulnerable and emotional around me, that i wouldn't think any less of him for doing so

your eyes snap open with a sudden start, your breath hitching in your throat as you’re forcefully jolted from sleep. a bad dream, you think. hm. no matter the frequency of your nightmares, the feeling is still so jarring; waking up in a blind panic, your blood rushing icy in your veins as you tremble in the dark…not fun. you sit up in the bed, pupils darting around the room as you try to process your surroundings. you’re so unsettled and dazed that you barely register the sound of sheets rustling besides you.

“mm… hey…” your f/o murmurs hoarsely, stirred by your movements. they blink awake lazily before gazing up at you, and although their eyes are unfocused and glazed over with sleep, they still brim with sincere concern. “...are you okay?”

 “mhm,” you nod softly, your hands still shaking a little as you try to calm yourself down. the familiarity of your darling’s presence grounds you in reality, and you feel your nerves ease ever-so-slightly. you take in a deep breath, wanting to reassure them. “just a nightmare. sorry…”

“ah,” your f/o hums in their sleepy voice, dismissing your apology. you’re never a bother to them. “c’mere”, they request, outstretching their arms languidly. your beloved looks so soft and sweet under the moonlight, instinctually jumping to your aid even when they’re too groggy to tell what’s happening, and you oblige gratefully. you can’t help but find comfort in their arms as they wrap them around you, your breathing and heart rate finally slowing to a normal pace. 

your f/o pulls you toward them gently, cradling your body against theirs and allowing you to nuzzle your face in the crook of their neck. you inhale shakily before relaxing against them, their scent soothing you.

 “shh, that’s it,” they encourage, their fingers caressing your back in a reassuring rhythm; tracing over your shoulder blades and ghosting against your skin. they press a soft kiss on the top of your head, feeling your tension ease up as you cling to them, your arms wrapping around their waist. “it’s okay, i’ve got you. you’re safe, i’m right here.” your f/o is full of affection for you, no matter the late hour. 

as they continue their whispered endearments, their loving tone quells your anxiety fully, and it’s not long before you fall back asleep, snoozing peacefully in their tight embrace. your beloved smiles fondly at your resting form before shutting their eyes as well, content to doze off now that they know you’re alright. they may not be able to fix all of your troubles for you (much to their dismay), but you know that your darling will always be right by your side to help you through them.

Seven's thoughts on Meryl!

Like Milly, she gets along with Meryl as well! She's not as close to Meryl as she is with Milly but she knows she can depend on Meryl. Meryl is someone who can keep Vash under control and without Meryl around Vash would probably have gotten himself killed already. Everytime Meryl comes around Seven slips her some money for the trouble of dealing with him.

Sometimes the two will sit out at night and sort of talk about life and simple things. She knows Meryl isn't always pleased to be following Vash around but she knows the deep level of care Vash and Meryl have for each other!

I'm a morning person so I be the first to get out of bed in the mornings before Hawks. I start up the coffee pot, & make breakfast for him & myself. Once Hawks smells coffee, he gets out of bed while I'm making breakfast. He grabs his coffee mug & pours coffee in his mug. Once I get done making breakfast, we sit at the kitchen table & eat together. When we get done eating & clean up in the kitchen, we get dressed, & brush our teeth. After we do that, we give each other a kiss & say have a good day.

The first one being Itto! I just thought his design was cool and was so happy to see a slightly more buff guy in the game-afnsndns I've heard really nice things about him! He seems really neat!

The second is Dainsleif. This one is absolutely 100% because the first time I saw him I went "DIMITRI FIRE EMBLEM???" and that was it. I know nothing about the lore of these games (I just play to hit things and let my partner drop by my world to steal materials) so both of these are more of a crush based purely on aesthetic!

^_^ - What is the silliest song that you associate with your f/o? - hmmm i think i've said it before but buzz love by &team i think is silly to associate with him, because it's literally not his style of music at all NOT my s/i's, so it just seems really random! i don't really know if i listen to any music people would consider 'silly' often enough to like. have a more real answer LOL

=0 - If you and your f/o were mermaids, what would your tails look like? - I LOVE MERMAIDS okay so mac's would be like the colours of this one hawaiian shirt he wears that my bf and i really like. my memory is awful but im pretty sure it's like a cyan/bright light blue and yellow, maybe a little orange on it too im not sure (: i think his tail has a few sets of those like extra flowy sort of fins on it too, and theyre like a bit of a darker blue but still translucent... i think the rest of his tail is a very "stereotypical" shape bc i think that is just what fits mac (: me personally (NOT nathan) i would have a light pink and seafoam green tail, and the fins at the bottom are really intricate looking im picturing it in my head but i cant explain it with words LOL but nathan's (s/i) would be like like entirely dark forest green where the scales look black in certain lighting or angles and he'd have like three fins at the end instead of two like i think most people picture on mermaids (:

now that you think of it, you’re a little tired too, aren’t you? you gingerly pull back the covers and slot yourself behind your partner, careful not to wake them as you settle into the mattress. even asleep, they melt into your touch, pressing up against you, craving more affection as you slide your arms around their waist, holding them closely to you. you rest your chin on your beloved’s shoulder as you give them soft pecks on their cheek and along their jaw, nuzzling them just gently enough to ensure they don’t start to stir in your arms… 

and that’s how you eventually drift off, warm under the blankets and content with your partner safe and secure by your side. you know that when they eventually wake up, they’ll be so happy to see that you decided to join them. ❥

3. Cyno: okay he'll take the opportunity of dressing up and creating a whole Halloween persona, but he rather goes with the others' flow, so it is fun to celebrate with him and hear his Halloween themed jokes, but that's about all he would prepare for the celebration

2. Ichiro: this guy tries his best to celebrate it somehow in his house only to bring a smile to his brothers' faces. I, of course, would offer to help and decorate everything, but he seems like the type to focus more on the experience itself than on stuff like... coming up with a creative or well crafted costume? to be honest I can perfectly picture him using bathroom paper over some random clothes to cover himself up and say he's a mummy lmao he just wants others to enjoy some snacks and smile and I respect that so much

1.Mammon: this!!! dude!!! he's not in a groupchat basically called party for no reason. also, he's a model! he would take the costume part very seriously, as well as the whole celebration, the decorations and the way to get there (he is very proud of his car, so it'll also be celebrating with us). he would have a halloween playlist of choice that he's been saving for this moment of the year, and he will make sure everyone else is having fun with him on that day
