Okay positive post:

The Everlux are super cool and I'm glad that the art team really stretched their wings and gave us a really interesting design. Sure, they're a little cluttered and the male pose nearly completely negates the secondary genes, but I think overall the design AND all the Everlux genes are home runs. It's probably one of the best releases, in my opinion.

I think it's great that they're really pushing what kind of dragons can exist in their world and really making it clear that shape and concept are not inherently tied to the Element the dragon originates from.

I hope that all the negativity does not cause the art team to pull back on pushing the envelope. We need more of this creativity, not less! Even if you don't like Everlux, I hope you'll understand how important it is, conceptually, for the team to make designs that aren't going to appeal to every single player -- even outside of the fact that you just can't please everyone no matter how hard you try.

The more variety in dragons, the cooler the site as a whole is. I hope that the team gives us even more weird dragons inspired by a wide variety of animals and insects. I hope the Wind Ancient is neat as fuck.

And I hope that Shadow can get a modern common breed. Please.

Skin Maker Strike

An interesting thread regarding FR's skin and accent rules- specifically their lack of clarification and the current skin guide being nearly a decade out of date- has gone up in FRD. I would recommend giving it a read and potentially helping out!

"We do not ask for the rules to be changed. We would like staff to update the on-site skin guide. Rules have clearly changed since it was written and there are VERY minor things that will get a skin 100% denied."

i. What is this?

This is a port of the thread @brightmyth-fr posted earlier today in the FR discussion forums, which was then deleted a short while ago. I am reuploading it here to my blog on behalf of the AAA discord server for visibility; though I agree with the contents of this post, I did not write it. Please keep this in mind when commenting/sending messages.

Tl;DR: 

- Several skin denials in the recent past seem to reflect unclear or unwritten rules for custom skins. The listed skin rules have also not been updated significantly in a number of years, despite significant changes being made to the applied skin rules over time.

- We, as in a number of skin artists, are requesting that admins clarify the existing skin rules on site. We are not asking for them to be changed; we are asking for them to be reworded in such a way that reflects what skins are and aren’t denied according to sources like recent denial messages, the Skins & Accents problems thread, etc.

- This concerns the admins, not the skin moderators, who we recognize also struggle with the unclear rules and with keeping up with long skin review queues.

- If you are a skin maker, consider releasing the next set of skins you had planned and then avoiding releases for the rest of April to help bring awareness to this issue. A number of artists in the AAA discord server have agreed to do this. However, participation is entirely up to you - this is not a demand for all skin makers to stop submitting personal skins, public skins, festival entries, etc.

This is not a suggestion thread, hence why it’s not posted in suggestions. This is an information and awareness post. 

Skin submission is a very lengthy process for a majority of skin artists. The biggest frustration we are dealing with currently is lack of clarification on rules. The current skin guide is nearly a decade out of date.

We do not ask for the rules to be changed. We would like staff to update the on-site skin guide. Rules have clearly changed since it was written and there are VERY minor things that will get a skin 100% denied.

Failing that, this can serve as a warning for aspiring skin artists to not fall into these common denial traps.

for anyone who’s grinding for the coli genes, diamond drops from wind, water, and earth aligned enemies, spade drops from shadow, light, and arcane aligned enemies, and polkadot drops from fire and plague aligned enemies according to the game database! this means that people have figured out that the best venues to grind for these genes are as follows:

diamond: redrock cove or forgotten cave spade: arena, blooming grove, or forbidden portal polkadot: volcanic vents

also, the dryad’s saddles needed for the polypore (mushroom tert) trade can be found in longneck packs, which drop from longneck interloper, magi, mender, and skirmisher; all of which you can encounter in the arena!

jesus christ i have never seen so many locked threads at once

um… im just gonna say this real quick: it’s okay to be uncomfortable with the skins this year, it’s okay if you don’t like body horror, but PLEASE let people enjoy riot of rot this year, especially if it’s their first. it’s tiring that plague is constantly shat on practically every single fest just because there’s someone who wants to stir up drama about the skins or something ‘not fitting in the plague aesthetic’

i know there will be drama this year, because there always is, but it’s not okay to shit on skin artists just because they drew something you didn’t like/don’t think it fits plague. it’s not okay to shit on staff for their skin choices, either. not everything in plague is for everyone – as i said above, and that’s okay, but what’s not okay is literally shitting on a flight during its festival that people are supposed to ENJOY

i genuinely feel so bad for plague members who have to go through this stuff almost every single fest. it’s even upsetting that people are angry just because plague EXISTS. this is a pixel dragon game, it’s not going to hurt you at all. 

im sorry to get into drama, but all of this makes me upset. i just want plague to have an enjoyable fest and not one that people constantly shit on. it’s infuriating that people have to constantly bring stuff up about this too – and i hate being the one to do so

please… just let people enjoy riot of rot this year. it’s all i ask for

my account was wrongly closed and in 3 weeks, support staff did nothing

Hi all. truly hate to be making this post. i’m Jolly, nbAphrodite #487688, and today is Sunday 5th of September 2021.

On Wednesday 11th of August i visited my real-life friend @wangjigirl​ who is a long-time flight rising player and who got me into the game. i used their wifi. the following Friday i woke up to see i was logged out of my flight rising account. “weird,” i thought to myself and tried to log in:

(i start bawling my eyes out immediately.) my first Wind House Cup is almost ending and i am terribly distraught, so i do what they tell me to and submit an Account Appeal support ticket:

they acknowledge my ticket on Saturday, 14th of August, and ask me to wait 2 to 3 weeks. i do wait. the 3-week mark is approaching fast and i (nor my friend, whose account was also closed because flight rising thinks we are the same person with 2 accounts as opposed to 2 different people with one account each) get no word from support staff. i contacted the official flight rising twitter account a couple of days before the 3-week period ran out:

(thank you to whoever is running the twitter account for actually getting back to me though <3) i replied to the email i got that’s screenshotted above, asking for an update and referring to this tweet on Friday 3rd of September, 1 day before the 21-day period ran out. i got no word back, the 21-day period ran out yesterday on Saturday 4th of September and i still do not have access to my account.

my 2-year flight rising anniversary is on Tuesday 7th of September and i hate that i’m most likely going to miss it just because i visited a friend and used their wifi. i do hate having to make this post because i thought the issue will be resolved in a timely manner, in the 14 to 21-day period they have established, but it was not. this is my way of trying to reach actual human beings instead of automated computer programs and asking, begging, to please let me use my one and only account that i have ever had, again. please let me celebrate my anniversary and please let me finish all the g1 projects i was so excited about a month ago @flightrising​

I think it’s just a joke anon. They really like *dirt dragons* their earlier messages says they collected them/had an appreciation. I found one message- *one* that jokingly says “do I tell them my favorite hobby is eating dirt?” I’ve not seen any commentary that says they buy in bulk and eat it. Yall wild.

i think it is so very funny that C from Wind buys dirt in bulk to eat said dirt, gets upset when they get sick from it or can’t buy it, and then thinks they can eloquently critique people. While they legitimately eat fucking dirt. And complain about it in the g1 hell discord.
