How Does Korea Celebrate Green Day with Street Food and Culture?
Introduction
Korea is renowned for its charming and unique couple-centric holidays, each providing a special opportunity for partners to express their love. Among these holidays, Green Day stands out as a delightful celebration that combines romance and nature. Observed on August 14th, Green Day is a lesser-known but heartwarming occasion that encourages couples to enjoy the outdoors and share green-colored drinks together.
Korean music and themes often enhance these celebrations, contributing to the festive atmosphere. Couples might delight in listening to popular bands like Blackpink, whose K-pop and pop music hits are perfect for creating a joyful ambiance. As Blackpink stars illuminate the music charts, their songs serve as a soundtrack for love. Likewise, BTS stars and their extensive BTS fandom infuse the day with energy and excitement, with their songs providing a lively backdrop.
In addition to music, couples can indulge in Korean fast food, adding a fun and delicious twist to their Green Day experience. It’s an ideal day for partners to connect with nature, making it a memorable and special occasion.
The Origin of Green Day
Green Day is a part of Korea’s "14th-day" celebrations, where each month features a unique theme for couples. While Valentine’s Day and White Day are celebrated globally, Green Day is cherished by those who love the peaceful beauty of nature and the simplicity of spending quality time together.
This day is often filled with the sounds of Korean singers and K-pop music, providing an ideal backdrop for the celebration. Korean pop stars enhance the appeal of Green Day, with their catchy songs creating a vibrant and romantic atmosphere for couples to relish.
Celebrating Green Day: Traditions and Activities
Embracing Nature:
A cherished way to observe Green Day is by spending time in the great outdoors. Many couples choose to take relaxing strolls in parks, explore picturesque trails, or visit botanical gardens. The vibrant greenery offers a wonderful setting for romantic moments and meaningful conversations.
To make their outdoor experience even more special, couples can bring along some delicious Korean street food. Ordering Korean food online allows them to savor treats like Samyang Buldak Ramen, a beloved Korean spicy ramen. Enjoying a meal of Samyang ramen noodles amid the natural beauty adds a distinctive and flavorful touch to their Green Day festivities.
Green Beverages:
On Green Day, a fun and quirky tradition involves drinking green-colored beverages. Soju, a popular Korean alcoholic drink, is especially enjoyed in its green-bottled form.
To pair with these drinks, couples might indulge in delicious dishes such as Sticky Veg Fried Rice With Soup, Sticky Egg Fried Rice With Soup, or Sticky Chicken Fried Rice With Soup, adding a satisfying and flavorful touch to their celebration.
Non-alcoholic options like green tea, matcha lattes, and smoothies are also popular choices.
Eco-friendly Activities:
Green Day also serves as a reminder to value and protect the environment. Some couples opt to engage in eco-friendly activities like planting trees, cleaning up parks, or starting a small garden together.
To enhance the experience, they might enjoy listening to Blackpink Kpop or Blackpink pop music, providing a lively soundtrack for their efforts.
After a day dedicated to environmental contribution, they can unwind with delicious Korean food ordered online, such as Samyang Buldak Ramen, making the day both impactful and memorable.
Matching Green Outfits:
For this festive occasion, couples often embrace the tradition of dressing in matching green outfits. This charming practice enhances the visual appeal of the day and reflects their unity and shared passion for nature.
As they revel in their coordinated attire, they might enjoy a meal of Korean spicy ramen or Samyang ramen noodles, adding a delicious and comforting element to their celebration.
The fun continues with music from Blackpink and BTS, which can set a lively and memorable tone for the festivities.

Jodi Sta. Maria and son join Chowking as ambassadors for the new and improved Chicken Lauriat
Got appetite to spare? A lauriat may just be the thing. A lauriat typically consists of several Chinese dishes served together in a large, communal table, often enjoyed in large groups. The term originated from the Chinese word “lao diat,” which means “celebration of life.” This Chinese banquet-style meal is a favorite among Filipinos because it is often associated with special occasions and…

I have shown you the Reunion Dinner (团圆饭) we had two weeks earlier due to my brother having to go oversea for his company’s training trip. Behold, here is another of our reunion dinner, albeit the home-cooked version. You saw the char siu, roasted chicken and roasted pork mum bought for the prayer earlier in the day so naturally those appeared on the dinner table. As one of my brother and his family plus my sister’s friend will be coming over, mum added extra dishes to the menu. It is not as luscious as the feast we had at the restaurant but nonetheless, it is still a scrumptious and delectable meal.
A simple Cabbage Stir-Fry with premium ingredients of canned baby abalones and scallops. Sis-in-law was commenting on the cabbage being sweet tasting. Ended up this dish emptied of the food saved for a few pieces of the abalones.
Sis was saying mum sliced the Char Siu too thickly but I on the other hand found them just nice as it offered a better texture. Sweet, charred with a smoky taste and just fatty enough to make it a wonderful eat. The Roasted Chicken (deep-fried actually) was well seasoned and succulent to go with the steamed white rice.
These extra-large Steamed Tiger Prawns were bought in Batam and delivered to our house. As the prawns were fresh, mum just steamed it without any condiment. After deshelling, we added some minced ginger sauce before sending it straight into the mouth.
Another seafood that brother order for us from Batam is this large Red Snapper which is done in a spicy style. Mum only made used of the tail portion as the fish is too big to cook properly in the wok she is using. Fresh and sweet tasting with a little spiciness made this a good dish.
Mum also prepared one of her specialties, Braised Five-Spice Pork Belly with shiitake mushrooms and hardboiled eggs. For the soup, it is Pork Ribs Soup with fried pig tendons, fish balls, corn, lettuces and dried scallops to sweeten it.
The side dishes are Pickled Daikon and spicy Nyonya Achar which is a South Asian pickled food made from a variety of vegetables and fruits preserved in brine, vinegar, edible oils and various South Asian spices.
Even though I took a little of everything, I still ended up with a Full Plate. As I slowly tucked into my meal, are you also enjoying your reunion dinner?

CoraCora, West Hartford CT.
ARROZ NORTENO: Northern Peruvian-style cilantro rice. Mixed seafood, rice, green peas, red bell peppers, choclo; seasoned with a cilantro and Aji Amarillo base, topped with red onion salad.
CHAUFA Peruvian-style fried rice mixed with scallions, red bell peppers, chopped egg; all sauteed in wok with soy sauce and black tiger shrimp.
CoraCora is an authentic Peruvian restaurant. I have been wanted to try this restaurant for a few years now because my brother and sister in law rave about it. So for my Birthday dinner they took me there!!
They have happy hour, so we had to have some drinks and appetizers! For apps we got the Empanadas, Yuca Rellena, Rumba Chalaca and Tequenos which were delicious!
I ordered the ARROZ NORTENO Paella and it was delicious. This was one of the best Paellas I have ever had. The seafood was fresh, I loved the cilantro rice and the veggies added a freshness to the dish. I loved every bite!
We did get dessert, and I love churros so I was very pleased with this sweet treat. And they surprised me with a chocolate cake for my birthday!! They made me feel very special! 🥳
I would recommend @coracoract to anyone in the West Hartford area. The food was delicious, the services was great and you can tell the chefs put a lot of love into their food!!
Based on presentation and taste of all the food at @coracoract I would rate my dish and all the food I tried a 10 out of 10. 🥳

Foods Miguel and V. love, and who introduced it to their home's menu:
Miguel and Olivia both really love good food. They love trying new foods, and enjoying their favorites. They also cannot go to a lot of restaurants. Well, let me rephrase. They can, but they get a lot of stares. One because Olivia never takes off her purse, and two because Miguel is Miguel. Neither of them like that, so they focus on cooking great food for each other instead. (Please read this before reading the rest.)
Part 2 in the future, maybe?
@pinkpinkspidey
—————
Zuppa Toscana - Olivia. She makes it how her mother did, making it gently and lovingly burn your mouth a little bit. Peter needed milk to have it. The secret ingredient? A tiny bit of chili oil. Her and Miguel make enough for a much larger family, because they know they'll give some away and eat plenty of it themselves.
Breakfast Sandwiches - Both. They both like having eggs and bacon and cheese in a sandwich. Bonus points if the bread is toasty and crunchy. Miguel prefers cheesy scrambled egg, while Olivia prefers an over-medium egg. It is one of the very rare times Olivia is okay with being messy while eating. She'll use the bread to soak up the yolk that dripped out. She does that with her eggs in general, but with the sandwich she'll just straight up dip the sandwich in yolk. Miguel didn't understand it until he tried it. Then he got it. He still prefers his egg scrambled, though.
Southern-Style Chicken and Dumplings - Olivia. The texture is to die for. It's a food they will both sit there with their eyes closed and savor. It's also the food Olivia gives to Spiders struggling. Especially ones who have just experienced a canon event. It's one of the many ways she cares for the members of the Society.
Mexican Hot Chocolate - Miguel. Olivia has always loved hot chocolate. She always doctors a cup of powdered hot chocolate, putting in powdered creamer and... more sugar? Regardless of whatever diabetic monstrosity she was cooking up, Miguel saw an opportunity. And he took it. He brought her a cup one day, but didn't tell her it was anything different than her usual. He wishes he had Lyla record the look on her face. There were tears. It was that good. Olivia tries to make it, but she can't do it quite like Miguel.
Hot chocolate has a special place in Miguel's heart. It was a major comfort drink for him and Gabriel during their troubled childhoods. It was a drink that got him through a lot. Being able to share that is very important to him.
Fried Rice - Olivia. It was a staple of her childhood. It's simple, and a good thing to make when you have vegetables to use up. Olivia adds extra egg and sesame oil. The first time Miguel ever had sesame oil, he had no clue what the hell that taste was but he liked it. He asked what that one flavor was, and Olivia showed him. She makes food with it often, because she knows Miguel likes it.
Sometimes, Miguel will eat rolls of his webbing, especially when he does not feel like leaving his office (post-Gabrielle esp). He started dipping it in sesame oil, and that's now one of his default ways of eating it. He made Lyla swear not to tell Olivia, and so far she hasn't. (This entire paragraph is a reference to this post. I am a firm believer in it.)
Mexican Paella - Miguel. He had actually never tried it or made it until he was an adult. He was curious, so he made it. It was delicious. He leaned more into the chicken than he did the seafood whenever he made it. However, when they started making it together, they leaned more towards shrimp. Probably because Olivia loves shrimp, and will slip more shrimps onto it before baking it.
Smoked Salmon - Olivia. It's actually her favorite fish. Snapper is her second favorite (we'll touch on that later). There's something so incredibly happy about salmon that she can't put her finger on. Whatever it is, sometimes she and Miguel will make it. The best ingredient? Garlic. Sometimes alfredo pasta on the side, again at her behest. Miguel doesn't mind alfredo sauce, but it's not his favorite.
Sweet and Sour Snapper - Olivia. She grew up in Florida. Every once in a while, she and her mother would go to this Chinese restaurant, and they served such delicious food. However, seeing as she lives in Nueva York, she can't really visit there anymore. So she brought the food to her, and of course forced Miguel to try it. It's a comforting food.
Empanadas - Miguel. (Took me long enough lmao.) He likes them a lot. They taste like what home feels like to him, kinda like fried rice to Olivia. He likes them with lots of carrot and beef, though sometimes he prefers chorizo. It's delicious. He and Olivia make them together while talking about their day. Olivia actually sucks at making the empanadas correctly, and they always have a laugh at it. Neither of them know why she can't get it right, but they taste good regardless.
Nai Wong Bao - Olivia. She loves these. They are her favorite thing to get at a Dim Sum restaurant, on the rare occasion they go out to one. She makes them every once in a while, but she's not good at it. Still, they taste delicious, and the custard melts in their mouths regardless.
Gỏi Cuốn - Olivia. Olivia and shrimp go together very nicely. Gỏi Cuốn, or as you likely know it, spring rolls, are a Vietnamese street-food dish with shrimp, rice noodles, lettuce, and pork. They make her very happy, especially the noodles. She and Miguel both enjoy them lots. Miguel appreciates the dipping sauce especially, and keeps some in his office.
Rice Crispy Treats - Olivia. The texture is sublime and she often finds herself craving it. She doubles the amount of marshmallows in any given pan, and then gives a bunch out. Miguel also likes them because they're simple and crunchy. It's a very happy food.
Cheeseburger - Miguel. They both love burgers, but Miguel is somewhat insane. He puts damn near everything on one. Jalapeños? Yep. Horse radish? Yep. Barbecue sauce? Mayonnaise? Ketchup? All of it. It's terrible. Even Peter B. is slightly disturbed. Olivia tried a bite and hated it. Granted, she doesn't like most peppers on their own (texture), nor does she like barbecue sauce. It's not really fair to have her judge it.
Just like Olivia with breakfast sandwiches, this is one of the few times he's ok with getting messy with food.
Yellow Curry - Miguel. They went out and tried it once, and good god. Both of them love it, but Miguel is the one that suggested they try and make it themselves. They always make it to where the chicken falls right off the bone. It's so delicious, and so so soothing. They make it slightly less spicy, focusing more on the sweet aspect. It's so good. Both of them have almost cracked teeth on peppercorns. Miguel falls asleep almost immediately after he finishes eating it. Olivia usually carries him to bed when this happens.
Cuban Sandwiches - Olivia. A food that originates roughly where she's from! She loves Cuban sandwiches and it's always a go-to when she whips out the panini press. Her secret ingredient? Garlic powder and extra cheese. It's so delicious. Miguel likes them with extra pickles.

Must know 1 and 6 for Fiona (detailed hc ask)
oh! thank you for the asks! referencing [this] ask game
1: What does their bedroom look like?
I liked this one! despite all the time i've been rotating Fiona in my mind, I've never really thought about what his bedroom looks like! It was fun ^^
Fiona’s bedroom is pretty intimate. It’s a lot larger than he can fill but the things in there are pretty significant to him. It’s the heart of his house –no one, not even lovers, are allowed in without express permission.
Upon entering the room, the main attraction is the four-poster bed in the middle of the room. Beautifully dark green curtains hang off the canopy and serve as black-out curtains. (He doesn’t actually sleep in it that often. A lot of times he ends up asleep on the couch! But when he can… he sleeps in style –matching pajamas and everything!)
To the left, a large vanity table with a mirror holds all the creams, powders, and lipsticks that Fiona could want. Most are neatly displayed and only the ones he regularly uses are on the countertop for easy access.
To the right, he has a study table. A couple of physics and calculus textbooks (mixed with the odd law study guide here and there) litter the top of it. Most of them are holdovers from when he was a physics professor at a city university. (He adores that period of his life more than he’d let on. In the bottom right drawer are letters from former students, some thanking him, some drawings of him, and some pretty holiday cards addressed to him.)
Like I said, it’s a large room. There isn’t much in it, but Fiona prefers it that way. Better to leave room from other stuff he’ll need than overcrowd it with meaningless ornaments now.
6: Eating habits and sample daily menu?
time for me to dump all my foods in here too because Nigerian food rocks and I cannot be convinced otherwise <3
Fiona’s a very ethnic eater. A majority of food is Igbo/Nigerian food though he’s amenable to other cuisines. In addition, he doesn’t eat the same food twice in a week, skipping breakfast is fine (and maybe even lunch) but missing dinner is a crime, and coffee’s a no-go. Doesn’t like the taste. Doesn’t like the effects. Doesn’t like much of anything about it.
He only drinks it socially and even then it’ll be decaf.
Back to the daily menu, though! Coffee’s got me on a whole different tangent xD
When he has breakfast, it’s something light: eggs and bread, pancakes, chicken nuggets, etc. Things that can be whipped up pretty quickly. He likes drinking hot chocolate in the morning, no matter the season –a holdover from childhood– though these days he’s more likely to start the day with cold milk rather than hot chocolate.
For lunch, it’s more of a wild toss. When he decides on lunch, it can be yam and stew, lasagna, rice (coconut, jollof, or fried), or a handful of ethnic dishes he can make. Sometimes, the team goes out to eat and Fiona isn’t one to deny team-building opportunities.
Dinner, however, is a requirement. His very favorite dish after a long day at work is: eba/pounded yam and soup. He likes to order it from Igbo restaurants but, on good days, he’ll make it himself. Alternatives for the rest of the week include: abacha, pepper soup, beans + plantain, and okpa.

Spirit Bistro deliveries
Tried more items from Spirit Bistro bcos each order met or exceeded our expectations :D We've ordered several times over the past 3 months so I decided to combined everything into 1 post.
Left: Singaporean noodles; Right: chicken + salted fish fried rice
I'll start with the noodles 1st. 9.2/10! Very tasty! Had a nice kick to it & flavour was good. I would say it was lacking in some protein (the bbq pork/cha siu pieces) but again, generous portion size.
The rice was alright; not as good as the noodles but still, I'd give it a 8.1/10. I prefer another type of salted fish - the softer/mushy ones. They used the harder shred-ier kind. I find this latter kind doesn't have as much depth as the kind that I like. Would have been better if they added more.
Over $35 gets you 2 free spring rolls. They were okay; typical spring roll (vegetarian).
The entree we got was the curry beef brisket. Not an item my family gets usually. .. but SO YUMMY!!
Mom's fav~ They have been consistant with this dish so we are very happy!
Th yin-yang rice. This 1 dish came in 3 separate containers: 1 large box for the rice, & 2 smaller containers for the 2 different topping sauces. The white 'cream' one has shrimp & green peas in a savoury egg sauce. The red one has chicken breast & onion. The colour of the red sauce was sketchy NGL. Usually it's a bright red tomato red - almost like pasta sauce. But this was like a dark sick-pink. It was weird o_O However, the red sauce one (kinda like the sauce fr sweet & sour pork) actually tasted better! haha the egg cream one was kind of bland & a little too watery.
Peach & shrimp .. . nope. Peaches & chicken! I have not seen this dish on other menus before... or maybe bcos I keep eating from the same Chinese restaurants lol but yeah, a variation of the classic peaches & shrimp. The chicken was decent but there wasn't much chicken in it, mostly batter. But if you're craving some crunch, I would recommend. The sauce was also good. I don't like having the sauce all mixed in with the fried items usually so when I re-assembled this dish, I only poured a little bit of sauce on top for a slight glaze. The rest of the sauce was left in the small sauce container for dipping (team dip right here *arm up*)
Braised beef brisket. WOW! It may seem there's not much meat / you may assume it's a whole layer of broccoli on the bottom; however, the portion was very generous, so there was actually a lot of beef! Some pieces were fully fat, which I don't eat so I did toss out some pieces. But otherwise, there was a lot. Very well cooked - the brisket was soft & very flavourful. It wasn't too salty & the sauce was very good on rice, even though I'm not a rice person. & broccoli was broccoli haha
The Spirit Rice Noodles. Honestly did not know what to expect for their house fried noodle dish but this was what we got. Thin rice vermicelli noodles with onion, bean sprouts, scant pieces of celery, cha-siu (Cantonese-style bbq pork), baby shrimps, & small pieces of pork. It was slightly spicy & had a good amount of wok-smokiness. It was decent!
**PS: I'm working hard on posts, I swear! My laptop is dying. .. it is so slow. I tried editing on my phone but once in a while, the app crashes & what I wrote didn't save so it is useless. SAWRY

Wellness Wednesday:
Back To Reality
I will admit that it felt uneasy taking a week long Thanksgiving vacation from work, but once I got in the thick of lounging around I didn't give work a second thought.
What did I do?
Not much - and it was spectacular!
I only left my hideaway twice - once for snacks and once for entertainment - the rest of the week was jam packed with lounging and gaming (VR and Boardgames).
I ended up leaving my vacation dreading going back to work and slightly addicted to VR gaming.
Oh! And one other note - one side effect from losing weight that I discovered - apparently I lost all the good cushioning in my butt and now I can't handle sitting in a car longer than 2 hours. My rear end was killing me - absolute worst part of the vacation - and to be honest there could have been worse things.

Closing Thoughts:
The Good:
I had a nice relaxing week away from work.
Caught up on some reading and actually finished two books on top of a stack of comics.
The Bad:
Neglected some chores during my time off and now I have some cleaning/tidying up to do.
The Ugly:
Although my week was relaxing - my sleep schedule was definitely thrown for a tailspin. Been lowkey exhausted all week and have been haphazardly falling asleep randomly in the middle of the day.

Chicken and rice is a combination that spans cultures and cuisines, and has won hearts across the world. It's a comforting, flavorful, and often economical pairing which takes two commonly available ingredients and makes them greater than they would have been alone. In fact, chicken and rice are such an amazing duo that they're featured heavily in Starch Madness 2023, Serious Eats' yearly event which has 64 rice dishes competing to see which reigns (starchly) supreme.
Below, we've put together a list of our favorite chicken with rice recipes, suitable for cooking any time of year. Your dinner table has never looked better!
Halal Cart-Style Chicken and Rice With White Sauce Diana Chistruga The chicken is marinated with herbs, lemon, and spices; the rice golden; the sauce, as white and creamy as ever. Halal Cart-Style Chicken and Rice With White Sauce
Hainanese Chicken Rice Set Serious Eats / Fred Hardy This dish is a Singaporean staple made up of moist chicken, aromatic rice, and tender bok choy, finished with chile garlic sauce and kecap manis, a type of Indonesian sweetened soy sauce. Hainanese Chicken Rice Set

growing up we never had fried rice at home, only plain white rice, because it was the 90s and low fat everything was the diet fad of the moment. so I kind of just assumed rice was boring and not tasty. and then one fateful day we spent a few hours at an airport where we got lunch from a Chinese place in the terminal. it was the kind of restaurant where you pick your dishes from a buffet style line and they scoop it into a container for you, and there it was - fried rice with bits of egg and peas in it. child me was blown away. rice was good??? I referred to it as "rice like at the airport" for quite a while before I was old enough to order my own food and found that you could get "airport rice" at any Chinese restaurant haha

(I wrote this poem: WARNING graffic content)
My last meal.
I think I've spent a great deal thinking of my last meal.
There's so many foods,
Melanzane,
An italian classic
It made me feel at home
Mac and cheese with the crust on the top.
Grabbing my fork I would thrive at the trust of its being.
Reminiscing of italy,
This little restaurant by the sea with thinly sliced octopus legs.
Not calamari,
Thin as paper. Lighter than a feather. Painted with olive oil.
And a little salt and pepper.
Putting up a show, eager to try. Eager to buy.
Or to finally try hot wings again on the superbowl.
Nachos and crab rolls.
And those tiny taco bell burritos.
With the cheese all about to leak.
Or some really large platters of meat.
Sushi, with my brother
Telling him about all the southerners.
All you could eat sushi. Only rule is, finish the plates and you wont get charged.
each round filled with 4 new sushi rolls.
Scallion pancakes
And steak lo mein with extra broccoli
Tempura rolls
and seasoned sticky white rice.
You eat so much it’s like you’re stomach is going to explode
It’s nauseating and a little humiliating but amazing.
Have you ever taken really salty fries, like the ones from five guys and drunk them into a double whipped vanilla milkshake.
How it tastes highly salty and way too sweet
Bobby's burger palace. Right outside the smith haven mall.
Buffalo burgers with potato chips crunched in the middle.
In and out animal style fries.
What will it taste like?
What does it feel like?
My friends are probably thinking…
But, you don't eat meat? Would it be a cheat?
You don't eat eggs and avoid breads.
And You never eat dairy?
They’d think this is scary.
But it's my last meal! And I don't care if I steal!
Because at the end of the day.
When i die, you will still hear the cry
When it's slaughterhouse time.
I wasn’t always this way.
I too ate lamb on Easter,
enjoyed dark gravy smothered on a turkey leg.
With stuffing and my aunt's infamous jelly.
I would eat the christmas pie
And frown at the sky as i felt my stomach rip in half from all the food.
I too, ate mcdonalds chicken nuggets.
Or those sonic hot dogs.
I too loved it all.
But I was far too young and extremely dumb. When I clicked on my first video.
I watched the cows fly, and be torn apart by the hands of a guy.
Did you know dairy cows after giving birth are immediately separated from their young?
Grieved over the realization of losing their child, they scream.
Yes, I heard it. Little 12 year old me, hear a mothers scream for her child.
And it doesn't stop.
They never stop.
It's only until their voice box has been destroyed and they are deemed “grounded”
Meaning unwilling to move.
That they are dragged by one foot,
Usually from a tractor or claw machine.
And dumped into slaughterhouse pens.
Pens were thousands of hands drag these cows to die, upside down.
Drowning in their blood, covered in mud.
And puss and sweat, and steroids.
Yes, your delicious milk and cheese.
It churns and yearns in a bucket after excretion. In a bucket filled to the brim with blood and puss.
There's so much of it due to mass production that not even the filters can clean it properly.
That's why dairy companies massively inject their products with dyes and chemicals to look more appealing to the eye.
Don't believe me? Watch it for yourself.
Cause I sure can forget it.
and of course this is America so it NEVER stops there.
No god forbid it stops there.
We need our double deep fried burgers and lard filled chicken tenders.
We need every single egg, as we ignore as the animals beg.
We even eat their young
Veal. What was the gain? What was the steal?
And yes little 12 year old me grew up, and started to throw up, every single meat i ever ingested.
For this was not fair! When did the food industry become such a scare?
When did cows stop being cows and become “meat”, “#9828674”
When did the babies become “veal tenders 2 for one sale!”
When did all of you close your eyes and pretend you actually care when in reality you still go to the same Mcdonalds every day, eat the same fried chicken every wednesday.
I'm going off track!
Im sorry
For I too will not care, when the day comes.
It will be my last meal.
I will eat the young, and I will slaughter the cows, I will steal all the eggs, and never make amends.
I will scarf down the lamb and ham, until I barf.
I will cut into my streak and reminisce as I, a 12 year old girl, watched a man deep dive his hand into a anus of a dairy cow.
To rape and impregnate her.
To continue the cycle
Don't believe it?
I assure you, I could not make this up even if I wanted to.
I would gaze at the stage, the conveyor belt would ring the chickens round and round.
As tiny blades sliced at their necks and watched as no one double checked.
If only they double checked.
These chickens most of the time do not die right away.
They live,
And have to stay alive again even as smaller blades cut into their veins and shaped their meat into dinosaur legs.
But it is my last meal!
And i could give a great deal.
Over how much I hate the food industry.
but even when I die.
You will always hear the cry
When it is slaughterhouse time.
I spent my entire life letting the mass production go to waste.
When I die, I will eat so much that it will no longer be for nothing.
Because who doesn't love a good burger and fries.
Who doesn't love needing to cry from having a lard induced heart attack.
This is america.
Bigger is better.
And we wait in these lines for our double deckers mounted sky high.
And we fantasize our fatty surprise.
Philly cheesesteaks.
Doubled loaded pizzas.
Lamb chops.
Steroid induced thanksgiving turkey.
Provolone,
And extra sweet Mascarpone,
Bacon egg and cheese.
And fudge filled ice cream.
Trust me when I say I will eat it ALL.
You know why?
For even when I die, no one will even try.
To stop the violence when it is slaughterhouse time.

It was established in 1594; 182 years before the United States of America declares their independence (July 4th, 1776) 🇺🇸📖🪶, and 304 years before the Philippines (my country) declares our independence (June 12th, 1898) 🇵🇭📖🪶. • And this is after we're leaving the "1919 Grand Cafe".
• Here are my last three photos, as we stroll along at the new improved "Jones Bridge" 🌉. Yes, I said it "new improved" because of Mayor of Manila (Isko Moreno) order the officials to renovate the bridge into a nostalgic looking reminiscent of the past, and it amazed us. Don't ya think, you two? 😊 Love the scenery w/ the Philippine iconic structure; the "Manila Central Post Office". ✉️🏛️🇵🇭
Fun Fact #2: The original name of this bridge was "William A. Jones Memorial Bridge", It is named after the United States legislator William Atkinson Jones [CLICK ME! #1], although, Mr. Jones didn't architect the bridge, but rather a Filipino designer named Juan M. Arellano [CLICK ME! #2]. The original style of the "Jones Bridge" was the "Neoclassical arch bridge", from 1919 to 1945, where the latter was bombed by Japanese Army forces during WWII. A year later, they revived the Jones Bridge w/ several alterations until 2019. Which, I've already mentioned before.
Final Overall:
• My entire family are satisfied our stroll & eating delicious food from two establishments, at the same time. We're haven't done this since the pandemic, and we're missing out some great places in Manila (and other parts in my country). Here's hoping, that we planning another bonding, someday. 😊 And don't worry, we're always wearing face mask & arming some sanitation sprays. 😷😉
Well, that’s all for now. More journey moments, coming soon. 😊
