Yo! Here to remind you that society has fucked up standards about how we should look (and perform). Your body is yours and YOU get to decide what to do with it. People have often said to me: "Oh, you lost so much weight since you started strength training......" It's not about that. That's something that comes organically. It's about building strength and resistance in my mind and body. The totality of me. To work through trauma. Our body stores trauma. To improve my self-awareness to become a better clinician.

Look, you can get a trainer/coach/mentor for navigation. But if they aren't gender-affirming, sex-positive, or providing empathic and person-centered services LEAVE. They will be harmful. I'm always down to share my story about why I started strength training. Always down to talk about what I do and how I do it.

3 years later. So fucking wild to me still. I went from a 32 to a 22 and lost 230 pounds. I'm also fascinated with how bodies can change. I loved getting stoned and lifting my 13.50 pound weights.

i have some ideas about halos.

so heres the idea: someone with a strong connection to their god (or demon or whatever it is that theyre worshiping) gets a halo from their affinity with said god. these are granted specifically by the god themself so not everyone has them. depending on their specific relationship with their god, the halo will appear in different places!

here's my expanded ideas for a few, as introduced in the drawing above:

classic halo

its your standard everyday floating above the head halo, nothing special about it

normally granted to priests

collar halo

hovers around neck

for followers who are Really, Really dedicated to their god. i mean really dedicated. "i will do anything even if i don't know what 'anything' actually is" level dedicated. you know how dogs are, right?

some wear it casually, some wear it like a noose, some wear it like a necklace.

basically works like a normal collar but can only be manipulated at the god in question's behest

armband halo

hovers around bicep, which arm it is depends on the follower's dominant (or preferred if they're ambidextrous) hand.

amputee followers are rare but in the case that someone doesn't have an arm the halo hovers at an angle above their shoulder instead

generally reserved for generals and other military leaders within the god's army if they have one

the hand

appears around the follower's dominant wrist

only seen on those who carry out the plans and will of their god down on earth. gods tend to not get involved in messy stuff so they find someone to do the dirty work for them down on the mortal plane. is also a play on the phrase "right hand man"

i feel like this one speaks for itself, really (HA).

not for proselytizers- only for those who speak directly for their god

the follower in question may be selectively or forcibly mute the rest of the time. it varies depending on the person and the god.

eyes

also quite self-evident. appears as a glowing band around the followers' irises (or iris). if they don't have eyes then the halo settles around the level of their eye sockets instead.

whatever they see, their god can also. this isn't a 24/7 thing unless said god chooses it to be. still, they tend to not get a lot of privacy

there have been a couple of blind followers designated their god's Eyes on Earth, which is pretty damn cool if you ask me (and also more than a little bit fucked up)

followers are rarely possessed by their gods because commonly gods have enough power to manifest a form on their own and need no vessel. a god in physical form may hide or obscure their halo at will. however, in the case that the god is too weak to assume a form of their own, they will sometimes take over a follower's body to intervene directly in a situation. the follower's body will assume the halo in this case and it cannot be hidden

some notes:

followers of one god can only have one halo at a time. polytheists can have several at once, one for each god, although this is extremely rare

followers with halos can naturally see each other's halos. those without have to look harder and nonbelievers (of any god) often cannot see them at all

i didn't intend the collar halo idea to be interpreted as a sex thing but if you want to do that then you can ig. im not a cop

yes the halos are customized depending on the god! some of them put time and effort into it. most don't though

I hate people like this with a passion. Stop using fat positive tags just to get views and clout when you are the complete opposite of fat positive. No one wants to see you praising your weight loss in tags made for highlighting fat bodies. To not just use these tags while your trying to lose weight but to also then brag about becoming thinner in the post itself is gross.

To the people who do this: you don't care about being a "fat babe," so stop flooding fat positive tags. This happens constantly, and each time I feel absolutely lied to and used. You're banking on fat positive people looking for representation to give you attention and notes while not actually giving a shit about fat liberation. The most egregious of the tags in this screenshot is "effyourbeautystandards." Eff what beauty standards?? Because you're bragging about conforming to them!

So many fat people who are hated by the world go to these tags because they're the only semblance of a safe place and solidarity that we have. How cruel can you be to then flood these tags with the fatphobia that fat people came to briefly escape? I look for fat representation a lot because I run and mod for fat positive blogs, and I can tell you that this is far from the only person who has pulled this. I even once wrote a comment asking someone who did this to stop using fat positive tags for their weight loss updates, and they block evaded me multiple times because they were furious about me supporting "toxic positivity."

I can't even look at these tags anymore because so many of the posts are nothing but people trying to lose weight and thin people trying to claim they're "plus size" for clout or whatever other fatness euphemism is popular this week. Not every tag is meant for everybody, and a fat positive tag is not meant for people bragging about weight loss. I can't believe I even have to say this.
