It was supposed to be a nice day - the sun was shining despite it being near November; the air was not that bad for New York and his workload didn't seem as bad as it had been the past weeks. As he was walking back to his office after his lunch break, Edward got a last-minute invite for a meeting at his office and he just let out a breath when he saw who was in it. He greeted his assistant with a tired grumble before heading in; his eyes narrowing into tiny slits as he watched the thousand-year-old cockroach spinning around in his chair. He could bet he probably also messed up its ergonomic position, too, just to fuck with him. "What did you do this time, Odinson?" he asked, cutting right to the chase, not really in the mood for the chit-chat. the man was already the reason he kept considering early retirement at least three times a week in the past year. He really wasn't in the mood to slap his notice on his brother's desk this evening, though. "I swear, if this is yet another inappropriate workplace relationship, I will throw you out the window." @glcriouspvrpose

Edward stayed silent, knowing that nothing he would say was going to change Loki's mind, or change the past. Now what he needed was to channel the anger he felt at Odin and his treatment of his son into support and understanding his fiancé needed so much right now. "I love you, too," he spoke against Loki's lips and pressed one last kiss to his lips before he lay back down against his chest. Edward's arms immediately wrapped around his fiancé and he ran his hand through Loki's curls. "Hmmm?" he looked down at the other, his expression not changing when he heard the question. Truth be told he had noticed the signs all of the wedding preparations were starting to get too much and he knew they had to eventually do something to downsize their wedding. "I was wondering when you'd ask that," Edward replied. "I saw you basically having a panic attack while trying to make sense of the seating chart. So I took liberty of taking care of the legalities and now we can get married in France, Germany, Iceland, and Italy. Just say where and when and I will take care of the rest, mi rey," he continued, his gentle smile turning into a smirk while his grip around his fiancé tightened. "Though if we were to get married in Italy or The Vatican, I would say we need to forego any mentions or references to any kinds of dungeons, don't you think?"

"I still did it," Loki replied, too quietly, not meeting Edward's gaze until he moved over him and he couldn't avoid it. "And he does a wonderful job of reminding me that even though it wasn't my mind, it was still me." He let out a breath and moved his eyes up to find Edward's. "After the Battle, Thor and I went back to Asgard to bring Father the scepter and the second I stepped on the bridge, I was already chained. He waited for absolutely no explanation and if it wasn't for Thor, I'd be locked away in the dungeon now.... And, I don't know, sometimes I feel like I should be there," he added, knowing damn well what Edward's face was going to look like after he did. Loki bit down on his bottom lip, hard, as he let his fiancé's words wash over him, with blue eyes shining far more than they should have been. "I know," he said, hand coming up to cover the one against his cheek. "I know I do," he said again, bringing Edward down so he could kiss him again. "I love you." Loki gently tugged him down so he was resting as close to him as possible, head back on his chest. "Would you hate it if I said I didn't want to do a wedding anymore?" Loki finally asked, lifting his head so he could look down at him. "We can still have the wedding. I know your mother would raise hell and come back to eventually haunt us if we didn't," he said, small smirk on his face, though it soon fell to a softer one. "But maybe when we get married, it could just be us."

HAPPY 10TH ANNIVERSARY TGS!!!!!

I've had this design for a recombined Jekyll rolling around in my head for months now, so I finally took the time to draw him. For the sake of clarity I'll refer to him as Re!Jekyll (short for Recombined Jekyll) (also the prefix "re-" feels kinda fitting for him, since he is whole once again). I have many ideas/headcanons for him, but I'll put all that under the cut :)

As for the drawing itself, I tried to mimic the look of the comic for the most part. (Note: Many of the colors used here were colorpicked from the comic to ensure accuracy.) I wanted him to look less like a 50/50 mix of Jekyll and Hyde and more like a Hyde-ish Jekyll, so I opted to give him the same face and hairstyle as Jekyll, but with some Hyde-like qualities. Aside from the obvious blonde streak, his hair is fluffier, messier, and a bit longer. The hair tuft/sideburn things in front of his ears are based on a mix of the hair tufts that hang in front of Hyde’s ears and university Jekyll’s sideburns. While he mostly wears red, he likes to include a touch of green, as seen here in his cravat. Also he gets the dark eye circles, as a treat. (I just really like Hyde's dark eye circles and don't have enough self-restraint to not give them to Re!Jekyll.)

Various headcanon ramblings about him (plus drawing process) under the cut:

When he's trying to look more respectable, he uses his now-longer bangs to hide his green eye. At first, he also attempts to make his hair look neater, but this is a near impossible task that he eventually gives up on. (He is doomed to live out the fuzzy-headed mad scientist stereotype.)

When people question his sudden change in appearance, he claims his blonde streak and green eye are the result of a chemical formula splashing him in the face (á la Two-Face). Yeah this sounds a little far-fetched, but he is charming enough to get away with it. (Besides, he knows way more about alchemy than they do, who are they to question it?)

This sudden merging of identities is initially super disorienting. It takes him a while to get used to it. (In the first few days, he keeps referring to himself with "we". He eventually breaks this habit tho.)

Has a bit of an identity crisis. (I'm specifically envisioning a scene of him staring at his wardrobe, mostly full of reds and greens, and getting stuck because he doesn't know what color to wear.)

Jekyll and Hyde were so used to having someone constantly there, listening to them and yapping in their ears (or in their heads, rather). Now, for Re!Jekyll, life feels so quiet. It's peaceful, but also a little lonely.

Has a bad habit of talking to himself aloud. When he's alone, he sometimes has whole conversations or debates with himself.

Struggles more with the mundane parts of his job due to having Hyde's impulsiveness and wanderlust. He occasionally has to take little breaks from all the paperwork when he becomes too restless.

He's still goopy. Moments of extreme emotion (stress, anger, excitement, etc.) can trigger the green goop. (Think that one scene in Ch. 14 when the priestess startles Hyde, causing goop to spew from his face.) I like to imagine the guilt of everything he's done hitting him and causing him to have a "that one scene in Howl's Moving Castle" moment.

In rare moments of severe inner turmoil or repression, he may even go into convulsions in addition to the goop, as if his body is trying to transform. (Feel free to disregard this one if you wish, this is 100% just me being super self-indulgent cause I love angst.)

Despite his many newfound struggles, he’s actually very happy! He now knows that Lanyon loves and accepts every part of him, and this helps him to better love and accept himself.

"Yes and the baby's due on Thanksgiving," Ed rolled his eyes and smacked his brother on the back of his head. "Well, he will be, eventually," he replied to Rafael's question about his fiancé, "you've met the king, he's a piece of shit," he added. "This is also why we're drastically downsizing the wedding. We're just going to invite people we actually want, not the people we ought to invite to avoid intergalactic war or whatever." Edward paused for a second to take a sip of his coffee. "Unfortunately you're on the invite list too, asshole. Mostly because of Klara," he teased.

"Well, hello to you, too." Rafael took the coffee, brow raised at what his brother said next. "Mamá is going to be pissed. What caused the change? You knocked him up, didn't you?" Raf teased and then sat back on the edge of his desk. "Is he good, though? He looked like he was going through it at the king's party."

"No matter how many times you call me daddy or try to kiss my ass, I'm not going to do what you're asking me to do without any crumb of evidence. You want a magician, hire Odinson," Ed shook his head. "Daddy needs something that will stick, this won't stick." @awclintno

"And this is why we're perfect for each other," Edward smirked and for a second it felt like nothing had happened. Until a second later when Jane spoke up again. He let out a breath, relieved that they would be able to put at least one of their worries aside but one more popped into its place. "Well, fuck," he let out a breath upon hearing about Odin's upcoming visit. It was bad enough that he was coming there at all, but not knowing when he was going to make his appearance? That was way worse. "As if we needed more complications," he ran his hands through his curls and shook his head. "All right, fine. I'll see where Loki's head is at and I'll tell him... eventually. Maybe," he nodded. "There will never be a good moment to do that anyway."

"You're just as bad as he is." Jane rolled her eyes, turning around to look at him. His expression mirrored how she knew her own probably looked, knowing Edward was feeling as hopeless as she'd been the past few hours. She nodded for him to follow her towards her office. "Klara's awake. They have the baby with them. I think about ten years were added to your brother's life." She went over to her desk and picked up a small scroll, handing it over to him. "I got that before it could get to Thor and Loki because one is about to have a stress-induced stroke and the other is one person breathing weird away from trying to kill everyone again." She trailed off for a moment when it was in his hands and sat on the edge of her desk. "Odin is pissed," she continued, using finger quotes, "about what happened and is gracing us with his presence at a time that wasn't disclosed. That's a problem for multiple reasons, but it's is going to be a bigger problem because Loki was stabbed by something that's made him stick in his Jotunn form." She sighed, "That's why he doesn't want anyone in there. He won't even let Thor in. And you know what'll happen if his father's here."
