Look, I just think we as a fandom have not considered an alternative Hansry ending where Jitka is a lesbian, her and Hans are in a lavender marriage and have agreed to let each other do whatever the hell they please when it comes to lovers. Jitka gets to pursue all the beautiful lady knights and court damsels while Henry and Hans continue being grossly in love disaster bisexuals who go on way too many hunting trips. Everyone respects each other, nobody’s unhappy because they’re all getting what they want and nobody outside of their relationship can sabotage it because they’re all in agreement with the situation and can just laugh in their faces while being absolutely, unapologetically queer.

10-year-old mystery finally solved
Tumblr media
One of the biggest riddles of Disney Frozen is how the choir gets up to the gallery. Nowhere in the movie is an entrance to the gallery or an access of any kind to be seen. All we see during Elsa's coronation scene is a completely open construction of the chapel, but there are twelve singers above the altar. How do they get there? Many fans have wondered how this is possible for ten years of Frozen's existence and everyone has puzzled over it. Even in books and comics, not a single clue is given and, stupidly, nowhere can you see the back of the chapel, i.e. from the west. Not even in Mindcraft designs is this side more clearly visible, which proves that the fans have no idea. However, there is Disney concept art and two, almost identical books about Arendelle Castle. The latter is clearly intended for children, but even there you can see the beginnings of a solution to the problem.
I myself was at a loss until yesterday, when I suddenly realised something while downloading screenshots and concept art. And tada!, suddenly everything was completely simple and logical. I could hardly believe it. You're probably asking yourselves now, "So how does that work? I don't believe anything without proof!" No problem. Let's go!
But first I'd like to show you my initial approach - until it turned out to be rubbish and couldn't work at all because of the open construction, no matter how you twist and turn it. Maybe you've already got there yourself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then I looked at the concept art of the chapel from the outside and the floor plan. Suddenly everything was clear to me and it made perfect sense. The only thing that didn't quite fit is the illustration in the book "All Around Arendelle" and the almost identical book "A Frozen World". There, the lower windows of the chapel are not shown, which can be seen in the concept art and round off the picture - also to the original model, St Olaf Church! But hey, it's a children's book and, in my opinion, the only incorrect depiction of the actual situation.
Here is the final proof:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some side thoughts:
it makes no sense whatsoever to see a ladder or stairs in the church. It also makes no sense for something like this to be brought in from outside before every service.
a permanently installed staircase, but invisible to churchgoers, makes much more sense. But it must be easily accessible for the choir singers who a) want to rehearse independently of church services and b) do not enter the chapel at the same time as churchgoers. They arrive in their everyday clothes perhaps half an hour early and only need to put on their robes, which are c) always ready for them in a locked room behind the altar.
The entrance is well hidden behind the altar screen, and it is very likely that this door is even wallpapered in the style of the immediate surroundings, so it can withstand a casual glance from a curious person. In the room behind it, there is either a ladder to the gallery or - more likely - a permanently installed, narrow staircase leading to a hatch in the gallery. The singers' robes are always hanging ready for changing and the hatch at the top is there so that none of the singers accidentally tumble down the steps when closed. The stained glass windows around the small room also let in enough light for the singers to get changed in daylight without being seen, to talk face to face before the service and to get into the right mood with the coloured light from this type of window. There is another good reason for having a room separate from the church. The pastor or bishop can prepare there in peace, store things for the sermon and talk to the choristers undisturbed. I'm sure there are other reasons for such a room that I just can't think of right now, but you can certainly think of them yourselves.
This is how it would look like if the tapestry wall wouldn't be there:
Tumblr media
PS: the only thing I haven't been able to solve yet is how to get up into the bell tower. There is a staircase that leads nowhere and no rope to ring the bell. Very strange… But on the real model, St Olaf's Church in Norway, you can see a ladder leading up to the bell tower.

UPDATE 04/2024:
I stumbled upon a screencap from Frozen Fever where you can clearly see the rear left side of the chapel. And there are windows to be seen! I would say: because it's not only a part of the concept art but is seen in the Frozen Fever short too, my theory is confirmed now.

Another question for the Skulduggery Pleasant fandom, because I've just finished reading the Haunted House on Hollow Hill, and I feel like I'm missing something.
Below the cut 'cause this is, y'know, a murder mystery
Do we get two explanations for how the police officer (Dudley) dies? First is that Grody killed him (and is used as an alibi for Grody & how there is more than one killer abroad) and the other is that Terry did it (and he openly admits it) - the second option is clearly the correct one, given the confession, but it just felt odd that there's not even a nod back to the first red herring.
#skulduggery pleasant#the haunted house on hollow hill#i enjoyed the book a lot! chuckled a lot#but#but but but it feels... still a lil rough?#like it could have gone through another round of editing to smooth it out#i did enjoy the clear riffing on the murder mystery genre (my beloved)#and the constable climbing back in through a window feels like a reference to the mousetrap play#but what the hell was with the 'dont you think its a waste when pretty people die' bit#like. i feel like maybe that was meant to be foreshadowing?? a very shaky maybe#but i feel like there should have been a reference back to it#and derek is doing his usual trick of inventing new magic mechanics we've never seen before#but thats par for the course so i cant be surprised#same with skullduggery's over complicated puzzle solving that are like#'ah yes this clue relies on such obscure knowledge and loose conjecture that none of this is logical anymore'#and sure. in a prev book this does get called out#and yet [gestures to this book]#look. i like riddles as much as the next person#but the sharp riddle barely made sense even when the answer was revealled#like. maaaaybe this was riffing on the overly complicated clues you get in murder mysteries?#but then that would really be leaning more on the sherlockian deduction trope#insane how many people leave full on escape room style puzzles just lying around in the SP universe#anyway. rambles over. feel free to shout at me why im wrong#but like i said this story just felt. rough.#i do think he has improved over the years#his descriptions are smoother than they used to be and more evocative#and the humour is still top notch

7 for the ask game ?
7. Share a line or paragraph you’ve written that you don’t think will ever actually be posted in anything! (Or, if you don’t hoard cut sentences and passages like I do, share anything you want that has yet to see the light of day!)
OKAY so I definitely would never say never when it comes to me posting things since I’ve ended up publishing a couple of fics in the past I thought were shelved forever (‘keep your head down, keep your chin up’ and the star wars au were some of these)! That being said, I do think the time travel au remains too complicated for me lol. It was super fun to work on at the time bc I got to mess around with a lot of tropes I hadn’t written before (erasermic family my beloved, etc) but yeah I ended up wavering on a lot of oc character motivations and also confusing myself 😬
There’s a specific scene I’d love to share from this fic but it’s on my laptop so I might come back & add it when I’m no longer on the road!! For now, I have this notes app-original snippet that makes me laugh to this day (‘Shinsou’ is the Shinsou from the future btw, ‘Hitoshi’ refers to his present-day counterpart)

I’ve caught another one, fellas
#Styx#Styx Podcast#Goodness me this year has already been awesome for me finding audio dramas#Two in two months gotta love it#For context I’m kinda picky with what podcasts I get into. I was trained on TMA and Penumbra and Rex Rivetter for what I like#I’m into the scripted ones with a cast and narration of some kind. Idc if its third party (like Cybernautica) or the MC (Rex)#But its gotta have those things like I can’t really do like an audiobook style I get turned off real fast#So I was surprised when this one showed up on my spotify#Yes I’ve added another PI podcast to the collection what do you want me to do about it they’re cool#I’ve only listened to the first ep but I do love it#The NY accents are awesome it reminds me of Noel from Malevolent#Love how it starts off a little cliche but like then it subverts them so aggressively#And canon disabled rep love to see it#Oh uh the premise is “detective who can travel between the underworld and waking world after dying solves mysteries beyond the grave”#Sorta#Idk still breaking it in but it’s very cool already and this’ll keep me tied over until Woodbine’s Valentines Day episode so yeah!#Hope y’all’s weekend going good!#Ok edit I’ve finished ep 3 and omg I can feel this podcast grabbing my heart it’s so good#Who knows if it’ll stomp on it later tho but that’s fine hahahaha#Wayman the dude that you are#My brain is telling me to make a transcript blog for this podcast too but I've just started Rex Rivetter I don't got time for that#but it's so coooooooolllll

The minute whump blogs target rain code it will be the end of me 😵‍💫 Especially illness blogs.
Yuma is way too perfect for this kind of trope. He’s a frail baby who’d get his health absolutely demolished by the city’s rain without his coat.
All I can do to satisfy my needs is edit his sprite art ;w;

Aww Shinigami Cares ;w;
FR though, I hope sickfic writers or just normal hurt/comfort fic writers out there make some good stuff in the future 😷

Every time I’ve opened my switch the past few days I’ve seen you playing Ace Attorney. are you having fun over there. I hope so
I've been so insane about this game since the start of the year when we pre-ordered the Apollo Justice trilogy, and now more recently, the Phoenix Wright trilogy + Great Ace Attorney package spring sale combo thing
I'm having an agony filled blast (very positive) (Edgeworth makes me insane) (Especially the romantic and sexual tension between him and Phoenix) (I hope they kiss)

THEORIES FOR CHAPTER 20? JUST CAUGHT UP AND GOING INSANE
Giiiirl. I have a few crack theories but I think they’ve managed to write a good mystery here. Anything could happen, and given how wild the smut has been, and how wild the story itself has been, I’m willing to bet the final chapter will blow our asses wide open.
It’s 10 minutes long too according to the description, so we should be getting a lot. I feel like they’ve managed to stuff a lot in the short chapters throughout, it’s well paced so I think the ending should be satisfying. Btw, I’d love to hear yours and everyone else’s theories!!! But here are my crack theories:
1. Charles/Charlotte is the murderer and has been leading us on a goose chase this whole time to put our sights off of them. He’s a stalker who obsessed about MC when his aunt was alive. She was genuinely kind to Charles, inviting him over or asking for his aid with the house, it would make sense that he’d see MC in photos and developed stalkerish feelings toward him. I feel like they’ve done so many coincidences with him that it’s too convenient when the writers are trying to tell us he’s innocent. He just happened to have a TRASH BAG full of foxgloves? Sure, Jan.
Additionally, in the van, if you choose one of the dialogue options with Charles (forgot exactly what it is), he tenses up… almost becoming a different person before he resurfaces and remembers where he is. He’s had a handful of those type of interactions depending on the choices you make. Could be PTSD, but idk. It smells manipulative to me, and MC has fallen hard for his savior. Moreover, the van being unlocked? Really now? 🤨 well that was easy, wasn’t it…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That cologne too, it could be one of Charles’s cologne and he planted it in the van to frame Vince. I always thought that MC was being drugged whenever they went into their fantasies early on, but MC is quite horny so I believe its likely just THEM being them lol.
I think Charles accidentally murdered his wife by overdosing her, and his grief is unprocessed or not properly dealt with. But bc of this, his mental is likely not sane. He pushed away the grief bc he thought he needed to be there for his daughter, who pushed him away bc she hasn’t been able to properly grieve either and that’s just how kids can be.
1.5 crack theory: Yvette burned down the house bc she was worried MC would leave her father and her new co-parent, who she likely looks up to. I mean who wouldn’t, this MC is one of the greats certainly. Yvette wanting to become involved in the investigation late in the game feels pointed.
Ultimately, the dirty little secret could be our lover is the murderer and we can choose to stand by him and keep it, or not. But since this book is a stand alone, I’m doubting this I actually going to happen bc I think we’d need at least 2 more chapters to connect the dots.
2. Vince and Sadie are working together and are the killers. Vince is super dumb so he’d go along with anything Sadie said, even if she didn’t intend for real murder. I think there’s evidence in ch19 to suggest he’s dumb enough to cross the line. THEN AGAIN. The evidence only stacked up in the last chapter so I feel like… this is a red herring perhaps.
I truly don’t believe that Sadie wanted us to die or be burned alive. She’s evil but idk if she’s proven to be that evil. She’s conniving and manipulative, but I haven’t seen evidence suggesting she’d go that far. Then again she did try to hide her real identity, going so far as to get surgery. Post having sex with the mayor, she seemed obedient to him. So perhaps…
3. The Mayor is the murderer. He loved MC’s aunt but she never returned the feelings. He let his rich white man ego and pride get the better of him, he has the resources and money to make it happen without a second thought against him. I feel there’s less buildup for this though…
4. Charles and Sadie are working together to take down MC. This would be the real insane reason, and honestly I feel like I’d live if they did this! I’d have to hand it to PB if they went this route bc I feel it could be successful. They def led their audience on a wild ride, why not push them over the edge type of tease lol. There’s not enough evidence yet to suggest they’re working together but I mean this book has been fucking insane sooo…
I think whoever captured Yvette will force Charles to show his true colors. I can’t wait for the drama to unfold!!!
Also going into that van was the last straw. I KNEW the jig was up then. Whoever the killer is KNEW MC (and maybe Charles, if he’s not the killer) would be this stupid. It’s classic horror/thriller movie scenes.
I’m willing to bet someone is going to shut that van door and force MC/Charles to watch whatever is about to unfold. God I hope they obliterate us, man!!!!
