That joke about MK not having read JTTW annoys me because not only it makes no sense considering what we've established of him as a character, but the guy also literally drew a Monkey King biography, or whatever those things were called. There's no way he didn't know about the waterfall
#and MACAQUE being thhe one who read it makes it worse#i mean sure it makes sense#he's literally obsessed w swk#but i just don't like the way that was used#lmk#lego monkie kid#mk#qi xiaotian#edit: i called the waterfall a fountain#my english is failing me#i think my brain is dying#avis' post

😍 published lines or a section of a fic that you loved writing?
Oh wow, how do I pick just one? There were a bunch of fun parts to write in Hope's Renegades.
(vague fic spoilers)
How about... chapter 15, Ocean Secrets, the shrine. The shrine was fun.
Calm down, Nora. Think. She considered calling her friends, but the telepathic signal was difficult in here. It was probably a shrine thing – they'd had trouble contacting Ross, as well. Besides, Nora was the puzzle-solver of the group – and though she might have appreciated her friend's insights, right now she really just wanted to figure out something. So think. What was she missing? She made her way to the centre, sitting down on a platform and dangling her legs in the waterfall, looking at the central column of water. That could be important. She tested it carefully, finding that it did seem to be like a fountain. Okay. What was she looking for? A way out of this room, probably, seeing as the room didn't seem to contain a shrine guardian. A way out other than the one she'd come in by, that was – unless the tunnel led somewhere else? No, because what would be the point in this room- Oh. She'd been stupid. Without a word, Nora slipped off the edge of the platform, landing in the water below.
I remember this being very fun.
Other fun parts included the revivals (difficult, sometimes, but quite fun, and Atlanta's chapter especially just flowed), Amelie's bit in Her Devotion (that might genuinely be my favourite part of the fic), and Nora's Answer (I just love writing trains of thought, even if it did need a bit of editing).
Thank you for the ask! I love talking about my fic.

Imperfectly Timed Perfect Tranquility Of Tampa Bay Boating And A Florida Sunset - IMRAN™
I was about to start taking photos of this beautiful sunset which was rich and textured from some moisture in the air, even without the usual cloud patterns which make for more dramatic colors. I saw my lovely neighbors come by on their boat and call out to me. Just then the fountains and waterfall of the swimming pool I was standing next to started up, making it impossible to hear them. I yelled and signaled for them to idle their engine so I could take a picture. That is when I realized that the camera's battery had run out from a long video timelapse the previous night. I quickly signaled to them to hang out there as I had to run in to pick up a freshly charged battery. Fortunately, as I got back and replaced the battery and got all set up, the boat was still in a perfect position in the left bottom foreground to provide a counterpoint to the sun more towards the right in the back. The jet ski would have looked better had it moved about 30 feet forward, as then I would have had all three vessels and the sun in one straight line! But the reason I did not wait for that shot was that in that case the boat closest to me would have moved forward right into the part where the water was shining with the straight unbroken line of sunset reflections. I did not want to edit out the jetski because the moment was still beautiful... even though I did not get all my ducks, I mean, all my boats in a row.

Who Names the Deltarune Songs?
What? Another Deltarune theory? You got it.
There’s a good theory circulating that Chara’s the one who names the songs in Undertale’s soundtrack. Which makes me wonder-- who names the songs in Deltarune’s soundtrack?
It’s widely agree upon that Gaster is the one guiding us through creating a vessel. He speaks in a way similar to other circumstances where we’re meant to assume it’s him speaking-- uppercase, as in the infamous Entry 17. And yet there’s sudden shift in manner of speaking as we’re told who we are in this world.
It’s possible two different people are speaking to us-- Gaster, and an unknown character. Many believe it to be Chara... I dunno about that, personally, but I have no evidence or even guesses as to whoever it truly is.
That being said... likewise, I also believe that two separate people are, or will be, naming the soundtrack to Deltarune.
There are hints of it here and there, but there are also songs that just stick out like a sore thumb. The songs of Undertale’s soundtrack tended to either say something about the song’s subject very plainly(Start Menu, Ruins, Core, Alphys, Undyne, Waterfall). They were sometimes snarky or humorous in one way or another(sans., Thundersnail, Can You Really Call This A Hotel, Uwa!! So Holidat), but some song titles are more... emotional or personal (Run!, Here We Are, His Theme, Don’t Give Up). Chara has a specific personality that shines through both their narration and their naming style.
But there are sudden an erratic shifts in the songs names in the Deltarune soundtrack. There are three that it’s seems pretty obvious Gaster named, at least now. (ANOTHER HIM, THE WORLD REVOLVING, THE HOLY). They play, respectively, while creating a vessel, while fighting Jevil, and while at the Dark Fountain, the last two obviously linked to the figure of the Knight.
There are a great many Deltarune songs that are over the more obvious type. (Beggining, School, Susie, The Door, The Chase, The Legend, Lancer, Empty Town, etc). I won’t talk much about those.
There’s April 2012, playing in the Club room of the castle. I’ll ignore that one.
There’s another kind of odd one, that Lancer seems to have named himself somehow. ‘I’m Very Bad’.
And... there are a few that seem oddly directed at Kris. (Your Power, You Can Always Come Home, Don’t Forget). So I don’t think Kris is the one naming the majority of these songs. Potentially whoever interrupted who we think is Gaster.
...Another thing I just wanted to mention, the association between the Knight and Chaos. Jevil and Spades King both spoke with the Knight... Jevil, who knows this is all a game, we know talks a lot about chaos. I don’t believe Spades King mentions it, but his theme is ‘Chaos King’.
I wonder. Everything on the surface appears perfect in Hometown, and appears like a typical fantastic adventure in the Dark World. But the one hinting the most about a potential bigger picture is the chaotic Jevil, with his Knight and Queen and Games, and Seam, who listened to Jevil and plays a pun that relies on reading TEXT than speaking out loud.
Edit: Another little thing. The song before Spades King’s fight is ‘Gallery’.
One definition of gallery is: a balcony, especially a platform or upper floor, projecting from the back or sidewall inside a church or hall, providing space for an audience or musicians.

Hello! Thank you for opening requests. If it's okay i'd like to request a lonesome male fae with a non binary chubby reader, sfw if it's possible thank you very much.
Edit which I’m including in all my works after plagiarism and theft has taken place: I do not give my consent for my works to be used, copied, published, or posted anywhere. They are copyrighted and belong to me.
Oh gosh, I’ve sat on this request for months. Like, months. But I knew I was going to do it for you, and had it all planned out (on paper and in writing and everything!) and then I discovered that it’s your birthday today, so I had to do it. Happy birthday, my beautiful demon-muse-friend!!
The setting for this is the day of my orc girl, Bronwyn, and her female reader’s wedding, but they don’t feature. Instead, the fae who is officiating their marriage is the subject of this little tale. It’s sfw, and features a reader who’s gender isn’t mentioned. I hope you like it!!
_____________________
As you traipsed into the little town, exhausted, and utterlyfed up, you saw little triangular pennants hanging over the main street in awide loop, fluttering in kaleidoscope colours in the breeze. It drew a smilefrom your lips, despite your mood. You’d been walking for days, you had almostnothing left, and yet someone here was happy, and having a party.
The noise of merriment and song rose from the back garden ofone of the buildings, and as you neared it, you realised it was the villageinn. The sign of the White Lady inn swung in the breeze, showing you adelicately painted rendition of the waterfall that you’d passed a few milesback, which had the same name. Not wanting to enter the pub if the celebrationsfor someone else’s happy day were in full swing, you looked around and saw ahuge water trough with broad, stone edging, sitting just beside the inn. Takingyourself over there, you cupped your hands and drank deeply of the clear, freshwater. It was cold, but it felt so good. Your own waterskin was empty, and yourfood rations were running out.
As you sank gratefully down onto the edge of the fountainand took a moment to rest your feet and enjoy the strains of music floating upfrom the party going on just out of sight behind the building, a movementcaught your eye, and you saw a figure standing in the archway to the passagewhich led along the side of the inn. He was clearly coming from thecelebrations, but he looked somehow utterly lonely.
After a moment, he noticed you too, and began to approachyou slowly, giving you plenty of time to get up and leave if you didn’t wanthis company, his hands hanging loose at his sides in a non-threatening, gentlepose.
Gods, but he was beautiful. He was tall, and perhaps a bitsevere looking, with long dark hair, and bright eyes, and he wore a long, darkblue, almost ceremonial robe, trimmed with silver and embroidered with patternsof the summer constellations. As he drew nearer to you, he looked almostsurprised by his own actions, but he smiled at you, and asked you who you were.Unthinkingly, you simply told him your name, and said you’d come a long waythat day.
“So I see,” he said kindly in his quiet, rich baritone. Ithad a sad harmonic to it somehow, which you couldn’t quite identify, but whichyou seemed to feel in the very depths of your soul. “And what are you doing outhere alone?” he asked. “The inn may be full of wedding guests, but there’salways room for one more, I’m sure. Mama Gilla wouldn’t hear of someone goinghungry in her town…”
You had to smile at that, but it faded quickly. “No moneyfor food or a bed,” you shrugged. “I suppose I’ll sleep between the trees againtonight…” you said. “It’s not so bad at this time of year.”
He frowned, his strong, handsome brows knitting together inconsternation, and his slender hand went to his pocket. He drew out a glintinggold coin, and your eyes went wide with surprise. Before you could sayanything, he said, “I will offer you this coin in return for a single smile.”
“What?” you asked stupidly.
He chuckled, a lovely, whickering sound, like a contentedhorse. “I’ve seen plenty of smiles today, but they were all for someone else.None were truly for me.”
“That’s a heavy price to pay for just a smile,” youcountered, staring at the coin.
“It’s my demand. I’ll set the price.”
You looked at him a long time. “You’re fae, aren’t you?” youasked eventually, and he nodded once. “What are you doing here?”
“Officiating at a friend’s wedding, believe it or not,” hesaid. “There’s an ancient belief in these parts that to be married by a faebinds you to each other on a deeper level.”
You cocked your head to one side. “That’s not the case?” youasked curiously.
He laughed again, adjusting his weight slightly on hisslender legs. His long blue robe lifted in the breeze which whispered along theroad, and you felt your heart skip a beat as his long, dark hair was liftedfrom his slim shoulders to reveal his chiselled jawline and high cheekbones inthe shifting sunlight of the late afternoon. He seemed completely unaware ofhis good looks as he shook his head. “No, I don’t think my presence makes theirpromises any deeper,” he said.
Unthinkingly, you smiled broadly at his comment, and he heldout the coin to you. “There,” he said. “Perfect. Thank you.”
“That’s it?” you said, fingers faltering just beforeaccepting the gold coin. It would buy you bed and board from here to the nextkingdom, probably.
“I swear on my true name that the only price I ask in returnfor this gold coin is a smile from you, traveller,” he said formally.
“I feel bad accepting it though,” you murmured, and he setthe coin down on the edge of the fountain. As you reached to pick it up, yourfocus left the fae, and when you glanced back up, he was nowhere to be seen.Disappointment sank deeply into you, and you turned the coin over in yourfingers. It was still warm.
You stayed in the inn that night, and Mama Gilla, the goblinwho owned the inn, was only too happy to change it into coppers and silvers foryou, which would be more practical for the road anyway.
At dawn, you set off while all the wedding guests were stillasleep, and a chorus of chirruping forest birds filled your ears as you trampedalong the road, well rested and full of delicious food, heading away from thecity far behind you and out into the world beyond.
Then, as you rounded a corner, you saw another travellerwalking the road ahead of you.
His back was towards you, but the slope of his shoulders wassomewhat familiar, as was the long dark hair now tied back in a neat ponytail, and he walked with an easy grace in the same direction as you. In his righthand he carried a sturdy yet elegant walking staff, and on his back was a smallpack. As if sensing your approach, he halted, and turned back to look at you.
You smiled broadly as you approached, but it soon faded to aworried frown as you saw him shaking his head, looking serious. “What’s wrong?”you asked as you caught up with the fae from the day before.
“You give me another of your beautiful smiles, and I have nomore gold to offer you in payment,” he said.
“What’s your name?” you asked in return. “Or at least, whatcan I call you?”
“Kiridai,” he said immediately, and you knew instinctivelythat that was his true name. “Is that the price you ask for your smile?”
“No,” you laughed, “Of course not. I just wanted to knowyour name. There’s no price this time. My smile is my gift,” you said, but hedidn’t seem happy with that either. “Now what?” you asked.
“A gift should be met with another gift, else the onereceiving is in the giver’s power,” he said gravely.
You rolled your eyes playfully, sensing that he was a very serious fae, but not a dangerous one. “Only by fae rules,” you scoffed. “Besides, wouldit be so terrible to be in my power?” you asked playfully.
Kiridai actually snarled at that. “What can I give you?” hedemanded.
“You don’t deal with people very often, do you?” youlaughed, and he seemed taken aback at that, but not displeased. “I’m surprisedthey asked you to officiate a wedding!”
His shoulders slumped and his head bowed sadly.
“Fine,” you laughed, giving in. “If you insist, I would lovefor you to walk with me and show me your favourite thing about this forest,”you said.
Kiridai seemed pleased with that as your price, and youwalked with him along the road for perhaps a mile before he turned off the pathand took a narrow deer track through the beech trees. He paused briefly tocheck that he had set a good pace for you, and when he discovered that you hadkept up with him, he smiled bashfully over his shoulder, his eyes glittering, and he said, “Almost there.”
At the top of a short incline, he halted beside a littlerocky cliff. Water trickled from the rock into a natural pool, which, despitethe gentle flow of water, was still as glass. Sitting on the surface of themirrored pond were delicate, wild water-roses, the like of which you had neverseen in your whole life. Each one was as large as your hand, pale andbeautiful, and you soon found your feet faltering and your eyes widening at thesight of them.
Their delicate fragrance filled the glen, and he ushered youforwards toward them with a graceful wave of his arm. “This,” he said, “Is myfavourite place in the whole world.”
“I can see why,” you breathed, inhaling the scent of rosesand hearing the soft, glittering tinkle of water.
Glancing back at him, you saw him watching you with adelighted expression on his handsome face. “I’m glad you like it too,” he saidearnestly.
“Thank you,” you croaked. “It’s beautiful.”
“I could bring you nowhere else,” he said. “A beautiful soullike you is worthy of being in such a beautiful place.”

When I saw you in a dream it reminded me of a place I once knew from another life. Back then it was known by travelers as ‘Sangaruda’, named after the great bird king. This place existed so far out in the middle of the sea it was almost impossible to find. Most would say it was dropped from the claws of the great bird king and placed just out of reach of the outside world. Those who lived there called this place ‘The Violet City’ for they knew of its real magic. The people here had found a way around the nature of time. The position of the sun stayed steady and hung at the horizon, which made it look like the sun was always setting and cloaked the entire island in a purple hue. This was a city so in sync it played itself like a harp. Each part so carefully considered and nothing forgotten. The people here gathered wisdom from the ageless ocean and when they learned how to manipulate the water, they gave a gift back to the sea. They discovered the art of alchemy and found a way to create an energy source made of pure light and water. The source was placed at the top of the city and flowed through a series of waterfalls down the island, dispersing across the ocean. The stars were so bright here it looked like they would rip the sky open. They built observatories to study the cosmos and libraries to house the knowledge they accumulated. They cured the unheard of and took nothing they could not return to the land. They taught their children the importance of kindness to each other and to the earth. But the source also had a secondary effect on the city. The tricks it played on the light managed to untether the inhabitants of The Violet City from the constants of time. The astrologists were the first to notice. They would study the stars one day and see an entirely different set of constellations the next. Eventually the source started to lose its grasp on time and the entire city started jumping from one time line to another. With each jump pieces of it began to fall behind, tearing the city apart and the people with it. Some say it happened in a matter of seconds, but really no one knows. For centuries the tale of Sangaruda was spread across the galaxies. But as with all things over time, the truth became distorted and the real story was forgotten. I don't remember who I was when I was there, but sometimes when I take a sip of water in the light, it flashes by me like it was yesterday, and then it’s gone again.

Singapore has been on my travel list since college. I’ve had friends from there who I’ve wanted to visit, however they were never home, so I decided eventually that it was time to ask for a list of suggestions and just go. Originally I planned to go in February but I came back so utterly exhausted from the states that I stayed home instead. Which was needed because I wasn’t even close to finished packing for my move.
Shiseido Forest Valley
There aren’t a lot of holidays this year either that give three or four day weekends. Instead a lot of the holidays fall in the middle of the week or on the weekend so even though it was going to be a short weekend I decided I had to go during the three day Children’s Day holiday, because there’s not another one until September (Chuseok). My travel addicted heart is crying. So I booked awful flight times to get the most out of everything. I left after work on Friday and arrived Saturday morning at 5am and came back Monday morning at 7am (flight left at midnight). The flights were 6 hours from Seoul to Singapore and oh boy I tried so hard to sleep but only managed about an hour on the way there.
I felt awful but Changi is quite lovely, even at times when there’s no one there. I wandered around with my luggage at 5am looking at the rain vortex which wasn’t running because the sun wasn’t even up. When it is running it’s the tallest indoor waterfall in the world at 40 meters (131 feet). It was designed by Moshe Safdie (and his architecture firm) and you can find more of his designs in Singapore that have a similar feel.
I wandered around in search of something to eat (found a Toast Box and got some breakfast which I’ll elaborate on in the next post), went to Starbucks which was open (Not the biggest one which is also apparently hiding in Jewel, just a smaller one) and got myself my city mug and then went in search of the Pokemon Center which I had heard sells special Pokemon edition MRT (Singapore’s public transportation) passes only to find they wouldn’t open for another 5 or so hours. So after awhile I gave up, got a regular MRT pass and found a bus into Singapore.
Out of all of the cities I’ve been to the ride into downtown Singapore was probably the shortest I’ve taken. It really didn’t feel like it in the moment, sitting on my suitcase on the bus trying not to roll into anyone on one hour of sleep, but it was about 20 minutes or so. Getting around on the MRT and on the buses also wasn’t that difficult which I greatly appreciated.
When I left Singapore I tried to head to the airport early. I checked in and then headed to the rain vortex again and was quite pleased to realize I was in time for one of their light shows.
I sat and watched it for a bit before wandering around taking pictures. When I was done I wanted to try and go to the Pokemon Center just to see what they had only to find they had just closed. It really wasn’t meant to be. The Pokemon Center is open from 10am until 10pm.
One of the things that stressed me out about my flight leaving Singapore was that on my ticket it said my boarding time was a little bit after 10, so I booked it to my terminal, confused as to why we were boarding so early when the flight didn’t leave till midnight. Turns out it’s because at Changi Airport security is at your gate. On the one hand it meant the line was only other people for my flight, but it also meant that I was speed walking/ half running from the Pokemon Center to my gate and not pausing to buy souvenirs. Thankfully there was a little shop selling water and snacks inside the gate as well as bathrooms and a water fountain. But I kinda wish I’d taken my time because they weren’t in a rush and didn’t actually board at that time even though all the screens kept saying “last call”. They wanted me to hurry up and get through security so everything would be smoother when they did finally board. It’s a great trick if you’re a person whose usually running late, but kinda a cruel trick if you’re punctual or a person who arrives early to things anyway.
The Rain Vortex light show starts at 7:30pm and plays once an hour (for 5 minutes) until 12:30am. The (40 meter) waterfall doesn’t start until 8am and ends after the final show. It’s still lovely to visit and you can wander around whenever, but some escalators may not be running. The lovely green space around the Rain Vortex is called the Shiseido Forest Valley. There are walking trails but you can’t bring your luggage on the trails. There are places to store your luggage though if you want a miniature hiking adventure. The Forest Valley is open 24 hours. While this seems like plenty to see and do (not including the mall with the Pokemon Center and shopping) there will be a lot more opening up this summer. Jewel is open to the public but connected to the airport so if you have a long transfer it’s worth a visit.
Jewel Changi Airport- Rain Vortex Singapore has been on my travel list since college. I've had friends from there who I've wanted to visit, however they were never home, so I decided eventually that it was time to ask for a list of suggestions and just go.

Belize Vacations - Beaches, Scenery & History
Immediately Norm Goldman, Editor sketchandtravel.comand bookpleasures.com is happy to have as a visitor Joshua Berman,co-writer of Moon Handbooks Belize. Joshua is an knowledgeable hotel in san ignacio cayo belize on touring in Belize, and lately chose this tiny Central American nation for his own honeymoon; he has additionally lived in and written extensively about Nicaragua and Honduras.
Welcome to Sketchandtravel.com and Bookpleasures.com Joshua and thanks for accepting our invitation to be interviewed.
NORM:
more information on wikipedia
Please tell our readers one thing about yourself and your experience pertaining to Belize.
Joshua:
I've been living, working, instructing, and traveling in Central America because the U.S. Peace Corps sent me to Nicaragua in 1998. I've been returning to the region ever since to write guidebooks, lead service journeys, and go to pals and adopted families. Final yr, I was asked by Avalon Travel Publishing to take over Chicki Mallan's Moon Handbooks Belize, which, when it first appeared 15 years in the past, was the first and most acclaimed guidebook to the nation. I gladly accepted and proceeded to analysis and write the sixth edition, which was launched in early 2005.
NORM:
The place is Social Profile Here Belize?
Joshua:
Belize is tucked into the northeast nook of Central America, bordering Mexico's Yucatan peninsula to the north, Guatemala's Petn wilderness to the west, and the Caribbean Ocean to the east. Culturally however, Belize and its a whole lot of cayes (islands, pronounced keys ) is more Caribbean than Latin. English is spoken all over the place (together with seven other languages). The variety is astounding, particularly considering there are only 260,000 people in your entire country.
NORM:
navigate here
Would you consider Belize a good choice for a romantic getaway or wedding and honeymoon destination? Why?
Joshua:
Completely. Belize's tourism board actively markets the country as a lovers' destination, and there is no shortage of special honeymoon and romantic packages from which to choose:
They can lease their very personal waterfall for the day at Hidden Valley Inn.
Couples can get Mood Mud Massages Midas Belize hotel san ignacio at Maruba Resort Jungle Spa.
They will rappel into a vertical cave shaft together, on the bottom of which they will find a flower strewn mattress subsequent to a subterranean spring at Ian Anderson's Caves Department. The checklist goes on and on.
Belize's dimension (smaller than Massachusetts), easy access (solely a two-hour flight from Miami or Houston), and astonishing collection of small, intimate resorts and lodges seal the deal. With a purpose to solidify my endorsement of Belize as a romantic destination, I even took my own bride here on our honeymoon (ah, the work never stops)
NORM:
Midas Belize hotels in cayo district
When is one of the best time to visit Belize from the point of view of climate, prices, Midas Belize san ignacio hotels crowds, and the supply of flights from the USA, Canada and Europe and Australia, etc?
Joshua:
Some resorts distinguish holiday season from the normal excessive season, with even increased costs and lower availability around Christmas, New Yr's, and Easter be sure you make reservations during these intervals. High season (re: extra vacationers and hiked prices) is generally mid-December by April; this is also the dry season throughout most years, although December, January, and even February can play to host to chill fronts that both blow proper via or sit around for days.
Your best wager-be prepared, each with clothes and angle! A week of stormy weather may damage a trip planned solely round snorkelling, nevertheless it could also present the perfect setting for exploring the rainforests or enjoying a hot tub and fireside within the Mountain Pine Ridge.
June, July, and August technically fall in the rainy season, and travelers throughout this time are rewarded with significantly discounted prices at most accommodations rain throughout these months may mean just a fast bathe each afternoon, or it might go on for days. August is the big month for European backpackers and vacationers, while December and February are dominated by North Americans. Some tourism businesses shut down completely throughout the months of September and October, the peak of hurricane season.
NORM:
san ignacio belize hotels- cheap
Could you give our readers an idea of the costs concerned if travel originates from the USA, Canada and Europe and Australia?
Joshua:
Conventional traveler wisdom calls Belize the most cost effective Caribbean vacation spot and one of the vital costly Central American. There are many mid-vary and upscale lodging throughout the country, working from US$25 to a whole lot of dollars per night time. Precise resort rates are an elusive factor in Belize; seasonal fluctuations are compounded by varied taxes and service fees, generally by as a lot as 25 percent additional. All the time be sure the speed you are quoted is actually the same amount you can be requested to pay. And, after all, great offers are considerable within the low season (May via November), when room charges plummet across the board.
For meals, price range vacationers can get by on lower than US$20 per day, but you're on vacation, right? Entr?es run from US$5 to US$25, depending on where you are; at the trendiest restaurants www.midasbelize.com/ in San Pedro, a elaborate dinner can value up to US$seventy five per particular person. A few resorts embody meal prices of their nightly rates, which can be a whole lot.

The Energy Of Water – Video with Marc David
Who doesn’t love water? We bathe in it, cook with it, drink it and swim in it. It can cool us off when we’re hot and heat us up when we’re cold. However, there’s a lot more to water than meets the eye. Cutting edge scientific research that’s being conducted right now tells us that water has a memory. Although some may find this controversial, mounting evidence shows us that water holds whatever energy we put into it. Join Marc David, Founder of the Institute for the Psychology of Eating in this intriguing new video from IPEtv as he unearths the science behind how water carries energetic imprints and how this can affect our body chemistry.
In the comments below, please let us know your thoughts. We love hearing from you and we read and respond to every comment!
Here is a transcript of this week’s video:
Greetings, friends. I’m Marc David, founder of the Institute for the Psychology of Eating. Let’s talk about the energy of water.
And I want to admit right up front, I have a love affair with water. Come on. We drink it. We bathe in it. We get it in waterfalls. We get it in rivers and streams and oceans. We’re made of it. And it’s arguably the most underrated substance in the world. And it’s easy to take water for granted if you have enough of it, which not all of the world does.
So I just want to take a few minutes and share with you some great facts about water. Check it out. So water is the most common substance found on earth. Check this out.
Scientists agree that all the water on the earth, all of it arrived in comets and asteroids.
Did you know that? And this happened around 3.8 to 4.5 billion years ago, a period that astronomers called the Late Heavy Bombardment. That’s wild. The water is alien in nature. It’s extraterrestrial.
Check this out. 70% of your brain is water. 66% of the human body is water, 60% to 66%. If you’re a baby, it’s about 75% of your body is water. Wow! Check this out. 80% of all illnesses in the developing world is water related.
Now, there’s more. And a lot of people here, “Oh, I’m supposed to drink eight glasses of water per day.” Did you know that there’s no scientific studies to support the recommendation of drinking eight glasses of water a day? Even though a lot of us are dehydrated and we need to drink water. It depends on your body.
Now, the weight a person loses directly after intense physical activity is weight from water. It’s not fat. So if you work out really, really hard and you go weigh yourself, you go, “Oh, my God! I lost 2 pounds, 3 pounds, 4 pounds,” it’s water weight.
Now, there’s a lot of studies considered controversial by some for sure – but that’s the scientific world – that demonstrate that water has memory. This is a big one, my friends.
Water remembers.
So when we say that water has memory, I want you to understand something. This is an eminently believable scientific fact. And it’s not a huge leap of faith when you understand that molecules such as DNA, which help you be you, DNA is a memory factory. It’s a library. DNA has memory.
Are you on a computer right now? It has memory. What has memory? Those little silicon chips made from silicone that comes from the earth. Substance has memory. Our brain is our memory factory. And it’s 70% water. Huh! Water holds memory.
Check this out. Did you ever see the old ritual when you take a coin and you make a wish and you throw it into the fountain? Where does that come from? Well, metal, a coin, conducts communication. Think telephone wires. So the original telephones, it’s basically you pick up a gizmo. And it’s got a long copper wire that can go across the country. And it can transmit signals and vibration. And you can talk to somebody through a metal wire.
So metal conducts. And you take that mental coin. You put your intention into it. And it takes that thought. It takes that energy. And then you toss it into the water. And it disperses into the atmosphere. That’s the wish that you made.
There are studies with water where you hold water – and this is crazy; this is science – you hold water.
You pray over it. You put positive intentions into it.
Then you take that water and you use it to water seedlings. And then you take unprayed water. And you water some other seedlings. And the water and the plants that have been watered with the prayed-over water show dramatically more plant growth than the regular water. Like wow! That’s wild.
So if the leading edge researchers are right and if water does indeed have memory, then what we put into water is magnified and absorbed into the body. So if your water is fluoridated, if it’s been overly chemicalized or if it’s polluted, then please drink better water. Get a great water filter for your home. Use some spring water. Or try to find some wild source of water whenever possible.
But here’s the bottom line, my friends. Water is more complex than we could ever know. And like everything else in life, what goes around comes around. So what you put into it is what you get out of it. Put good energy into your water. And good things come back to you.
And that’s the magic of life.
Warmly, Marc David

Barcelona & Week 5
Since I effectively posted two weeks worth of blogs last week, we’ve just finished Week 5. About 10 to go, isn’t that bizarre?
I think I left off on last Thursday, which was mostly packing and preparing for my weekend trip to Barcelona. I had to deal with a mild travel crisis, which I won’t go into right now, but thanks to my parents for being calm, rational, and compassionate human beings. Somehow that was sorted within about an hour. I also actually met one of my friends from grade school for dinner with a group because we have crazy mutual friends on this trip. We went to De Mario’s, which is an Italian restaurant down the road from us that smells amazing every time we walk past. I got home from that, finished packing, facetimed Will for a bit, and went to sleep at probably 1 am.
On Friday, I woke up at the ripe old hour of 5:30 am (night number one of 4 hours of sleep) to finish getting my stuff together and eat some breakfast before I headed to the airport. I took a tube to Victoria Station, hopped on the 7am train to Gatwick as the doors were closing, and grabbed a coffee while I waited for my gate to open (which doesn’t happen until like 15 minutes before the flight starts boarding. I had a middle seat and I slept for most of the flight because I was totally exhausted. When we landed at 1 (+1 hour), I waited in customs for what seemed like an eternity before flinging myself on the metro to get to the Airbnb that I was meeting Will at (he’d been there for a day already). I knew what line I needed to get on, but I was just kind of winging this whole thing. By the time I got to the station and met Will it was 2:45. I unpacked a little, said what’s up to our hosts, and we shoveled down croissants before we made our way to Park Gūell for the afternoon. I’d bought tickets online for the area with all of the sculptures and buildings (the monumental zone) and we needed to get there by 3:30. We took the metro to a stop North of the park, which landed us far away from the entrance we needed to go to and also involved lots of walking up and down steep inclines in order to get to the park. According to my phone, over the course of Friday, we went up 70 flights of stairs.
Eventually we gave up on hitting the 3:30 mark and explored the top half of the park a little. It’s crazy that I’ve been seeing pictures of that place for so long and I actually got to walk through it and see all of the rock formations and structures. Everything in Barcelona feels intensely whimsical, and especially anything that’s related to or influenced by Gaudí. By the time we got the entrance it was already 4, but some lovely people helped us slip by anyway. From there we got to see those classic mosaic benches in the Plaça de la Natura, the Sala Hipóstila (an area full of Doric columns with mosaic ceilings), the Portico of the Washerwoman, and the buildings near the entrance, as well as some gardens. Essentially, we saw everything included in the Strut music video by the Cheetah Girls. I mean:
From there, we walked all the way to Casa Mila, or La Pedrera, which is one of Gaudi’s most famous buildings. That’s not a quick walk, by the way. It was easily an hour.
After that we headed back to the Airbnb to scope out a place for dinner and get ready to go out. Spain is one of those lovely places where dinner doesn’t happen until 9 pm, which made me so nostalgic about Greece. We took the metro into the Barrio Gótic and got some delicious and much-needed Paella, as I was running on 3 granola bars and a croissant. Our waiter was really friendly and it was a good time, I can’t even vaguely remember what the restaurant was called. After dinner we took another metro to go meet up with some other people from our program who were in Barcelona that weekend. We went to a bar called L’Ovella Negra , which was near the Olympic Village. It was a huge hall full of tables, and they served beer and sangria in giant tubs, essentially. Will got up to the bar and asked for “a bucket of sangria,” which was only slightly confusing to the bartender, but we secured the bucket nonetheless. More and more people from UW kept amassing around our table and it was crazy how many there were at one point. A huge group from the UW program in Galway, Ireland was there too. Around 1 I’d say we left to go to Opium, which is a big ol club in Barcelona. I’m definitely not a club kind of person, but you know, when in Spain. It was honestly pretty fun. Nobody really got any drinks because it was crazy expensive, but we had a good time. I got into bed at 4:30, and that was probably mild for how it usually goes in Spain.
On Saturday, I woke up a mere 4 hours later at 8:30 to hop in the shower, get ready, and leave for the Sagrada Familia around 9:30. This was probably the single most-hyped thing that I’ll do during entire semester in Europe; I can’t even stress how excited I was. It’s more amazing than I could have anticipated. It is massive, first of all. It’s also very strange and unconventional which makes it even more fascinating. It’s one of the coolest places I’ve ever visited, hands down. 9 years of Catholic education and a long-held interest in architecture put a lot of meaning into the experience for me. Ultimately, I was so struck by the stained glass windows, the ceiling, and that nativity façade. It is more than words can describe so I’m going to stop trying.
After a solid 2.5 hours at the Sagrada Familia, we went to find a sandwich and some coffee since we hadn’t eaten yet that day. We stopped back at the Airbnb, which was probably an 8-minute walk from the church, to figure out a game plan for the rest of the day. First, we took the metro to the Passeig De Gràcia to see Casa Batlló, another Gaudí building. From there, we walked down the street to the Plaça de Catalunya, one of Barcelona’s main squares. We headed down Las Ramblas, the most famous street(s) of the city, and dipped into La Boqueria Market. We tried to stay strong in front of all the amazing food stands but caved and got some fresh juice. We walked through more of it and came out with some chicken croquettes and some cheese and meats. We explored the Gothic Quarter a bit more from there, seeing many more squares and churches and church squares. We stopped in Plaça Reial, so I could further live out my Cheetah Girls 2 fantasy. We saw the Santa Maria del Mar, an impressive Gothic church, and then walked along the shoreline towards Montjuic, a hill that overlooks Barcelona. We saw lots of sculptures that were created for the Olympics, including one by Roy Lichtenstein that’s just called “The Head.” I was really excited when we saw it. Naturally, we also saw the monument for Christopher Columbus, which was huge, but also ugh. We saw the old Roman wall, too, before getting on a bus to go up to the Castle on Montjuic. We still had to climb a solid amount of the way up, but the view from the top was amazing. Getting to look out over the sea was great, and the weather had been cooperating all weekend – it was perfect. From there we started our way down the side of the hill towards the Olympic Grounds. We saw the stadium and the Communications Tower, which I was really looking forward to seeing. We wandered near the Royal Palace, which houses the National Museum of Catalonian Art, and the waterfalls that follow the steps down to Plaça de Espanya. There are many more museums along the sides, as well as the “Magic Fountain” which was closed for repairs L and a pavilion designed by Mies Van de Rohe (of course I’m a dork about this guy).
At this point we’d been walking around for most of the day and it was almost 6. We decided to take the metro back to the Airbnb to pack and get our stuff before we got dinner later, since our flights were early on Sunday morning. We ended up at a tapas restaurant in La Barceloneta that was absolutely amazing. It was busy and loud and very much a hole-in-the-wall place that served lots of food for not a ton of money. Patatas bravas. They have my heart.
We had a few beers and we were there for quite a long time, which isn’t at all a complaint. Afterwards we decided to grab one more drink before we headed home, so we stopped at a teeny little bar and sat down and talked about how great this whole trip was. And then we went back to go to sleep. It was probably 1 am, which was perfect for another 4.5 hours of sleep before I had to wake up at 5:45 for my flight.
I woke up without too much issue, got ready, and left Will at the Airbnb (his flight was a few hours later than mine). On the walk to the metro stop, I got sentimental (if you know me at all this is so typical). I didn’t even kind of want to leave Spain, and I think it was the first time for a few weeks that I’d remembered why I love to travel. I was burnt out from the past few days, but I felt better than I had for a while. I don’t know if it was the sun and the weather, or that I’d done and seen so much in ~40 hours, or what. I just had a great time. Barcelona is nothing less than magical. From the architecture to the food, it just really got me. I’d love to go back.
As always, here is my map link, with everywhere we went marked:
https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1DlcTEdRUMflt7PuxvSIZCy5ncjw&ll=41.38924188799723%2C2.189168900122013&z=13
I have a page for these maps now! It’s on the left side of my name in the header.
When I got back to London I got right into bed and slept for almost the rest of the day. I caught up with my parents, planned out a little bit of my week, and went back to bed, surprise. On Monday I slept in and got some class work done. I went grocery shopping, stopped into Waterstones (book store) for a little guide to Paris (this weekend’s adventure) and did some laundry. Mondays are my chore days. We brainstormed more ideas for Paris later that night before we went to bed.
On Tuesday, my British Life and Cultures Class went to Brick Lane to do a walking tour. We heard a little bit about Jack the Ripper and a lot about curry. After that I had my art class back in Kensington. We went to the Design museum, which I really liked, actually. There was an emphasis on data representation and graphics and stuff that I’m into. After that I went to the post office and the convenient store for yet more errands, before my media class. I was so exhausted at this point (It’s hard not to be for a 6 – 9 pm class), but we had a guest speaker come in and talk to us about the PR/advertising firm she works at, which is called Taylor Herring. Basically, they produce viral content and PR stunts for stuff like Game of Thrones and Samsung. It was actually really interesting.
On Wednesday I worked on relatively boring stuff all day long. I rewatched a movie for my media essay (not complaining, Submarine is a great film), made some food, and worked on internship applications for the summer. I packed up a box to send to Will for Valentine’s Day and dropped it off at the post office. I also wrote some of this blog, prepped for Paris, and went to sleep.
Not the most exciting few days, but this weekend should be very exciting. Today I’ve just been packing and working on stuff for class, and in a few minutes I’ll leave to go to the British Board of Film Classification, which is for my media class. Then I’m coming back here, finishing packing, and we’re leaving for the airport to go to Paris! I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have qualms against the French, and I’m going into it anticipating that I won’t like it very much. We’ll see though, I feel like everyone says that. I will for sure be a huge fan of the food; I’d be surprised if we didn’t just eat all weekend. Stay tuned as I fill myself with macarons. Also:
