Wouldn't he at least have called and kept in touch, if he isn't floating around like Bud and Edna?

So, in all likelihood, he's no strings attached; no commitments, no anything. He's just a vagabond, perhaps with some scattered jobs at taverns and record stores. Maybe with a bit of truck driving under his belt. With no home.

In all likelihood, in the world of That 90s Show, he has slept with many nameless Sams. He has never found another Jackie, his soulmate, but he thinks about her. Every single day. And when "All My Love" starts blasting somewhere, he presses skip. If he can. If he can't, he just leaves. Again.

So, That 90s Show is such a sad AU, where the gang scattered in so many different directions. I've said this before and I'll say it again, but even in the real world, my EDish parents kept in contact with most of those friends from high school and college for years (and they're still in contact with two of them). So the "but it's realistic" argument doesn't do it for me. It's so unnecessarily disappointing, and other than ED ending up together? The supposed ending is the furthest from happy, even realistically so.
