The gunman remains silent, almost as if he's frozen in fear himself, nearly indiscernible skips of his breath accompanying the pounding of boots outside. His grip on Steve's waist tightens and the barrel of the gun painfully jams further under his chin as a voice bellows from outside, "Munson we know you're in there!"

 

Although he's beginning to shake with fear himself, jerking his head back and away from the metal of the gun, Steve still sees the Bluebells on the bartop in front of him and remembers the kindness that was instilled in him all those years ago.

 

The soft voice of a woman who only ever saw the best in the world. The actions he remembers so plainly witnessing from his perch on his mother's hip. A scenario not far off from his current; a gunman had stormed this very same Inn, tattered clothes and gun in hand but nothing more than fear and helplessness in his eyes. It took his mother no more than a second breath to allow the man to take what he needed, offering him a bowl of stew and bed by the fire for the night before he left.

 

It's a wild scenario even when he thinks of it now, but sometimes all someone needs in their life is to know that someone cares enough to sacrifice their own needs for that of a stranger.

 

And maybe it's crazy, with a gun to his chin and the heady scent of tobacco and sweat filling his senses, but letting out a laboured breath Steve says, "Let me help you."

"Dude," Steve says, pressing on his eyes because he feels like he's about to cry. "What the fuck."

"What?" Dustin squeaks, alarmed. "What? Steve, you're freaking me out!"

"Good!" Because Steve just worked eighteen hours and it's past midnight and he got thrown up on twice and there was a bed pan incident and even though he showered at the hospital he probably smells awful and it rained and he lost his keys so he had to take the bus and he's sweaty and tired and wet and cold and Dustin's DnD friend is hot. "I can't believe you'd do this to me!" Okay, maybe Steve's feeling a little delirious.

"Do what??" Dustin is full on shrieking right now. His hot friend is standing in their apartment looking more and more worried and hot.

"You didn't tell me he was hot!"

The expressions that go across Dustin's face is impressive, before they stop and he settles on a flat glare. "Seriously??"

Hot guy is now blushing and Steve will collapse if he doesn't keep with the righteous fury.

"I've been TRYING to get you two to meet for months now!"

"You didn't tell me he was hot, though! Dustin!!"

"I don't know what guys are hot, Steve!" Dustin says indignantly. "I thought you didn't like nerds!"

"Dustin!"

"Um," says hot guy. He looks like he's panicking.

Dustin's face changes again. "Oh, no. Oh, no, you're right."

"All this time!" Steve says and he really is close to tears. "You've been nagging on me all this time to find my soulmate, and you had the perfect guy right here?? You had him in my home??? Dustin!"

"Whoa," whispers hot guy.

"I'm sorry," Dustin wails now, just as distraught. "You love nerds, all your favorite people are nerds, I don't know what I was thinking, oh my god!" He whirls on hot guy. "Eddie, give Steve your number right now!"

"Okay," says hot guy Eddie, immediately. His face is super red and his eyes are wide, and he looks scared out of his mind as he fumbles his pocket for his phone. "Yeah-Yep-Absolutely. This is a thing that's happening."

Steve, tears burning in his eyes, watches as Dustin punches his number into Eddie's phone. "Okay," he says a little nasally, wiping quickly at his face. "Okay, I'm going to shower and then sleep for two days, and then pretend like this never happened so I can look hot guy in the eye when he asks me on a date. Sound good?"

"Sounds great!" Dustin says, all cheery now. Behind him, still looking vaguely scared for his life, hot guy gives him a shaky thumbs up.

This just cements my headcannon of him loving the fact that you're in love with his eyes.

You'd have the most intense staring contests all of the time whether you're fucking or not. But while he's fucking you it's even more intense cause the faster he gets the harder it is for you to keep your eyes open and he relishes in it.

Babes, I'd honestly die if you did a blurb on how he'd use his hands against you. Between his eyes and his hands I'm such a melted mess for him.

Eddie is definitely a slut for prolonged looks into your eyes. No matter the situation, no matter the context. The moment he catches your gaze he holds you there, rapturous.

Eating you out? He's waiting for you to look at him and when you finally do he holds the stare, daring you silently to look away.

Fucking you? There's Eddie, watching your face contort with the pleasure he knows only he can give you.

In fact, the first time you see Eddie he's already watching you, smiling when you watch back, unafraid of him.

Wayne is picking up some groceries from Melvald’s when he sees a kid slumped in the passenger seat of the chief’s truck. He’s got a black eye and a sour look on his face, and he’s parked right next to him.

Wayne puts his groceries in his truck and then taps on the window, “What’ya in for?”

“Living my life.”

Wayne laughs to himself at that before asking, “Didn’t get that black eye putting someone in the hospital?”

The kid snorts, “Hardly. Dickhead sucker punched me when I told him to stop messing with a bunch of kids. Didn’t have the chance to even hit back before Hopper’s on my ass.”

Wayne takes that into consideration and looks back at the store where Hopper is leaned over the check out counter, talking to Joyce Byers. He tilts his head back and decides, “Wanna get out of here?”

“What?”

“Prison break?” Wayne suggests, tilts his head towards his truck. “I’ll be the getaway driver.”

“Seriously?”

He gets a real smile out of a kid and his eyes light up the way Eddie’s does when he thinks he’s getting away with something. Wayne ends up taking the kid back to his house to hide out since he has a friend in Forest Hills, meets Max Mayfield, and has the best breakfast for dinner he’s ever experienced.

When Eddie finally exits his bedroom into this apparent alternate universe, he asks, “…why is Steve Harrington in our kitchen?”

two years later… and im still obsessed with him

Last month, I posted a sketch of Frank crying. The original inspiration was Orville Peck's C'mon Baby, Cry! When I sketched these two again, their bodies began to turn. Eddie held Frank's hand and pulled him closer. I did my best to follow his lead in my sketches.

I've been wanting to describe the process like that from the start. haha

Anyway, Frank isn't the one crying anymore. Now I'm the one crying! It's too bad all these wonderful things can only happen in my dreams.

Well, I do have one secret: Wally was sitting in the chair reading a book in my sketch. He didn't make it past the sketch phase. I tried very hard to add a background to this piece. He was my guide for the eye level. Eye level was literally at Wally's eyes. He was a great help to me!

not really news but how fucking insane was it for 911 on fox at the time to have eddie mf diaz call buck evan at a hospital after almost losing each other again to a bullet then make him reveal that he's his sons legal guardian in case he dies and go like 'idc if my family fights u, ill be dead, youre a dad. i love you.' then dip. ?? HUH??
