In most DC fics, we have Jason after the pit can't stand to go out when Joker is out of arkham or there are other side effects to the pits.
So, in Danny Phantom, we can compare the ectoplasm in the portal to some form of clearer pits. There should also be side effects. With the death scar and whatever you headcannon, I feel like on some days or even on his death day, Danny can't stand being near his parents, the Portal or Sam (if you count the wish that they weren't friends anymore where Sam had to kill Danny to rebrand him).

DP x DC Idea 2
So, i was watching some naruto edits on tiktok and one was about Karin, and that got me thinking, what if Danny can use his ectoplasm as a healing agent? and (with an angsty note) what if Vlad tries to take advantage of that?
Basically, ectoplasm its what ghost are made of, they use it to exist, to heal, to atack, etc, so if a ghost is inujred they would heal fasther in the zone or in high ambient ectoplasm places
-Cut cuz this got longer than i though, sorry for the yapping-
So, lets give it a bit of actual sense, lets say that Ectoplasms its naturally an ambient agent in areas where the veil is thiner or maybe theres more death energy (cementeries, mortuaries, hospitals, high murder rates places, etc) and Amity Park its a pretty thick with ectoplasm thanks to the portal, so ghost can absorb that ectoplasm the same way we do with sunlight and vitamin C.
Now, the Realms its made of ectoplams, Amity only has ectoplams, it also has other elements and such, so its not as pure as the realms and the healing wont be as fast as being close to the portal or in the zone, BUT, Ghost only have cores right? those are the ones that proceses the unfiltered ectoplasm outside the realms and its why it takes longer to absorb it and heal, but Danny is also human.
Humans have differents filters, we have our kidneys, our liver, tonsils, even our whole digestive system is its own filter and so are our lungs (respiratory system starts from our nose using our snot to filter big particles [and also warms the air], then bronchi, bronchioles to filter any bacteria and you can get smoke stuck in your alveoli bc of how thin and not solid it is).
So Danny naturally have several filters that after the accident could've adapted to the new body necesities and started filtering the ambient ectoplasm, helping with his health, acting as a healing factor and making the ectoplasm in his system pure.
And Vlad knows this, he may not be an ectologist the same way that the fentons are, he is not publishing research or showcasting his knowledge in ectology even tho he studied the same thing with them, he may be a narcisit but he aint stupid, he did his own research, his own experiments, he is still a scientist that loves to know stuff, and in that same though, he is still a narcisist and pretty much an asshole.
So even tho he does have the same benefits, it still can need time to function, even more if the wounds are deeper or bigger and if its caused by other entity ectoplasm, i could guess it being not from you it could be more harmful the be exposed to (like how blood and organs transfusion need to be compatible or the same type cuz it could kill u if not) so his body would need to first purge that and then start healing.
So he could bite Danny and get that sweet purified ectoplasm, as if he didnt look enoguh like a vampire already
But, isnt that also another entity plasm? well, yeah, but it could be a more broad concept, like, they are both halfas, that could be enoguh to make them compatible, Danny's esctoplasm also is pure somthing that other ghost dont have, it could also be that maybe theres different types of ectoplasm than can chaged based on the intention with it is used, like, if you want to shot an ecto-ray it would be combative.
I have a lil prompt based on this, but i'll write that on a reblog cuz this got too long and also is more of a context thing than part of the prompt

Its impressive... Horikoshi really made little miss Deus Ex Machina even LESS narratively satisfying then I could have ever imagined. Both with Mirio AND now Deku....
TBF Its on me thinking it was kinda interesting that Deku lost his arms in Shiga-world and that for some reason translating to it happening outside too, I was curious how the fuck that happened but luckily we didnt have to dwell on that because Eri comes in and rips her horn off for some reason...
Wasnt the Quirk destroying bullets made from her blood... It says on the wiki it was her 'biological material' so maybe I assumed it was her blood... but like?? Why she have to rip her horn off? Aizawa (great to see you again btw im sorry Hori didnt think spending some more time with you would be beneficial for some reason but GREAT TO SEE YA BUD) BUT WTF DID YOU TELL ERI TO MAKE HER RIP HER HORN OFF!? Also lmao Ectoplam being put on babysitting duty is fucking NUTS. What do YOU MEAN?! Also he helped a little girl chop her horn off.... work. IDK if he was the best choice for this for various reasons....
ANYWAYS... Eri being like 'My horn is part of me and since you told me how my Quirk works... this should help' So like... you have hair ya know... A lot of it. You probably coulda/shoulda started with that... especially since it woulda been like... a callback to Deku eating All Mights hair to start the series off ya know?
BUT WHATEVER
Tumblr media
CUZ IT WOULDA RUINED THE TENSION AIZAWA-SAN PLEASE.
For at least All Might... but Bakugo was dead for like a straight up year IRL... and honestly I would have accepted Eris quirk more than the actual hilarious nonsensical bullshit that happened. Which to remind everyone...
[An origami ninja folded himself up so small and wrapped/sewed himself around Bakugos ripped apart heart while a man who creates denim threads sewed it back together... neither of these men are surgeons but its fine because all that didnt save Bakugo he actually used his explosive Quirk to restart his OWN heart somehow...
Am I getting all that right? Its been a hot minute.
A hot ridiculous minute....]
All Might coulda been interesting though. And Hori somehow rarely disappoints when All Might is involved (accept AFO randomly having a quirk that completely undoes Stains Quirks ability. That was bullshit. He had a Quirk for that but not one for the rewind? OK... W/E. AFO is so disappointing.)
Hori letting Bakugo be dead for an IRL year completely killing the tension of the scene then reviving him in the most bull-shittest way I never could have imagined 🤝 Deku losing his arms in a somewhat interesting way only to get them back like a chapter later via some bullshit way via Eris horn I never could have imagined.
Also I didnt say it before but Ojiro, Sato, and Sero being shoved into this is so fucking funny. Hori really said 'Oh shit I forgot about these three... gotta pretend theyre useful somehow'
Love that.
Love my boys. Good for them LMAO.

For world building purposes (and future fics), is it ever specified what cirriculum the hero course follows?
It's been said that it's advanced and fast-paced, but nothing beyond that. We see in Ectoplam's class that they're solving a trigonometry problem, but from what I've read, first year high schoolers in Japan learn geometry.
What do they learn in English, Literature, Art, Science, and Physics?

So a while back, I asked how ectoplasm would fare during the sports festival and you said that he’d lose to Bakugo because he’s too mobile, Eijiro and Tetsu are too tanky, and Izuku, Denki, Ibara, and Shoto have wide spear attacks to destroy them all. I’ve been think on the strategies for him to beat them so just say whether or not it would work. Bakugo- have him close the distance and when he gets close, surprise him with a giant arm to grab him to immobilize or throw him out.
Eijiro/Tetsu- spawn all the clones and hide within to tire them out like what cementoss did in the exam. If they destroy them, he can easily make new ones to replace them since their strategy is to bull rush people. Ibara- surround himself with the clones as lookouts and if the vines creep forward, have them tie and tangle the vines up. Eventually the vines will be in more manageable size and the real one could get her while the clones hold her hair down. Denki- assuming he doesn’t have his metal legs, when he goes for the attack, hide behind all the clones in a huge clump which should block the electricity or at least reduce the damage. Alternatively he could spawn a giant arm to block the attack or toss him out of range then catch him.
Izuku- keep spawning giant arms to block his air blast or attack him till he uses up all his fingers. Maybe have some arms on hand to hold him within the ring. Shoto- if he goes for the huge glacier, assuming he keeps his mouth uncovered he could make an arm to smash him out of the ice or smack him out the ring since he would be at his quirks limit if he does this. He could also piggyback on a clone and if it gets frozen, jump onto a new one or smash the ice with an enlarged hand.
So while I do appreciate you're ideas, I think you are overestimating how capable "Clones" is and underestimating the rest of the students. The clones are very easy to destroy and aren't any strong then Ectoplasm himself. So the idea that he could try to pull off a war of attrition on Kirishima and Tetsutetsu seems farfetched given their superhuman abilities. Same goes for Bakugou. While the large limbs could be an issue, I think he'd be able to out maneuver them with his blasts, either destroying them or attacking a now vulnerable Ectoplasm, who can't make any more clones. Ibara and Denki both have ways to circumvent anything Ectoplams, either through Ibara's control of her vines letting her tangle all of the clones or Denki's lighting easily traveling around or through whatever Ectoplasm tries to make to protect himself. Both of these factors apply with Shoto and Izuku. Izuku is going to break straight through whatever giant arms that Ectoplasm makes and send him flying in the process. I don't even think he'd need more then one finger to do it. Shoto's attacks are both powerful and widespread. Anything Ectoplasm tries to make, it's going to be frozen over by Shoto spamming his Quirk again, leaving him unable to control it.

Maybe these mediums were protesting the rigid scientific analysis of female anatomy by male-dominated medicine. After all, mediums were convincing otherwise educated men that a piece of cheesecloth was a manifestation of spiritual energy. Maybe these mediums wanted the opportunities men had: captivated audiences, money, and respect. We praise Houdini for his illusions, but these mediums were just as intelligent and creative. History portrays these women as seductresses, loose women, and sexual deviants, but maybe they should be honored as Magicians of Matriarchy.

After discussing things, the leaguers present at the award ceremony decide to keep things quiet and they begin their investigation.
It didn’t take long for them to discover the hidden signs of conspiracy, unfortunately for them it didn’t end with the government.
The GIW was founded at the behest of vandal Savage and Klarion as well as various other members of the light.
At first they were content simply using the research and specimens in their meta human research and using ectoplasm to fuel their weapons.
Somewhere along the line though, certain individuals were deemed too dangerous to be left unchecked.
The Fenton family, Sam Manson, Tucker Foley, and Valerie Grey were all marked by Klarion the witch boy and, until Ra’s Al ghul left the light, under constant surveillance by the league of shadows.
When presented with files on each of their folders, they came to a startling conclusion.
The names had been changed but they were all characters from the Danny Phantom series.
Truth be told until that point there was some doubt about how much of the books were based on fact…with this revelation they were now wondering just how little of it was false.
Which left one question. Who was Danny Phantom?
Based on the books alone, he would be the brother of Jazz Fenton, but there was no record of her ever having a brother. True they could be destroyed, but there he couldn’t be found anywhere at all, not even by Batman. No school photo, no street camera footage, nothing.
Some were certain that it was the witch boys doing, but something much more confusing was revealed when they brought Giovanni Zatara into the fold.
When presented with what should have been Danny fentons year book, it wasn’t magical interference, it was ectoplamic.
So who erased Danny Fenton? And why?
Meanwhile…
Clockwork changed the channel as his grandson left long now. He watched as the heroes as the heroes began questioning what they knew and for once… he hoped.
He did as Danny asked and removed all evidence of his existence to protect his family, so no one would come asking questions that would put them in danger.
But looking at the multitude of futures laid bare before him, he couldn’t help but hope for one in particular…one that would bring about a new era of peace among the realms.
He just had to trust that they would do the right thing.
Danny Phantom
Written by Jazz Fenton
Danny Phantom was a story that built a generation of superheroes.
It’s the story of a young boy that had power thrust upon him and he rose to the challenge. Him and his friends worked hard to keep their town safe no matter how crazy things got.
He fought monsters and gods and even kings but still struggled to balance school and protecting the town. His sister did what she could to help but it wasn’t until after she learned the truth behind his identity that they were able to truly bond as a family.
The story end with Danny going off to college after closing the portal forever. He would go on to be an astronaut and fulfill his dreams.
Jazz wished it was true. She wrote the Danny Phantom books so there would be a record of what her brother had done. That in some small way he would never be forgotten.
When she was in her late 30s, heroes came out into the light. It hurt to see them, they reminded her so much of her brother.
One day jazz, now 46, gets a call from a newspaper celebrating authors and they want to present an award to her in metropolis.
What she wasn’t expecting?
As they are announcing her award a new person comes on stage to present it.
Superman. He went on to say that the Danny phantom stories were part of what inspired him to become a hero “when he arrived on earth”
She felt a pang in her heart as he spoke, but when the flash, green arrow, black canary, green lantern and even Batman stepped forward to tell similar stories she could feel tears welling up in her eyes.
She manages to hold back her tears until she is at the podium looking at the bronze plaque with her brothers name on it.
The brother she hadn’t seen in almost 30 years.
She fell to the ground sobbing, the plaque clutched tightly to her chest.
“I’m so happy” she sobbed “I was so afraid this world would forget him, after everything he did for it.”
Jazz Fenton refused to elaborate. She couldn’t, other wise she would break the deal that kept peace between the realms.
The GIW saw no harm is foolish bedtime stories. They hid any and all proof that Danny Fenton otherwise known as phantom ever existed.
So long as he never returned, his friends and family would be safe.
Unfortunately for them, superman is one hell of an investigative reporter and he has the world’s greatest detective at his side.

Drowning in Knowledge
Ectoberhaunt 2022, Side Chaos. Prompt: Drown
Summary: Despite having so much raw data about the Ghost Zone thanks to the Ghost Portal, Jack and Maddie are stumped for they don’t know what to do with it and how everything connects. What is it that they’re missing? What part of the information is useful and what is useless?
0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o
“Hey Jack, do you know what to do with all of these readings?” Maddie asked while handing him a paper with a bunch of numbers spread all over it. That was some data measured from around the city of Amity Park, it was mainly about the different levels of ectoplasm that surrounds the city, or at least, it was supposed to be that way.
“... I’m not sure Mads, it reads to me that there was some interference somewhere, but it doesn’t say where,” he left behind what he was doing in order to read over those numbers once again, “It’s very rare for the numbers to differ so much from the norm after all, and we haven’t had any ghost invasion to explain it either.”
“Yeah, that’s what worries me, and that’s not all.” At this she turned around and picked up some other papers, “I’ve been checking on previous readings and comparing them to the new ones that we’ve collected thus far, and all of them show different levels when compared to the past”
“The levels of ectoplasm differ in different places and that doesn’t show any kind of pattern, the natural portal formation showed signs of a clear decline before yet it just got a spike and now it’s in decline again, blob ghost population has changed numbers so fast we can’t ave an accurate model of their ‘communities’, their properties change depending on so many factors it’s impossible to categorize how they each affect without having a secondary factor to take into account, and there are many more numbers that have never been consistent.”
“Honestly, the only thing that has proven to be consistent all this time is the amount of times the city is attacked by a ghost each week.”
“That’s true, but what does that mean? We know that most of our equipment is working as intended at least, save perhaps for the sensors spread around the city that we’ll have to go check now.”
“Mmmhhh, maybe we’re thinking about this the wrong way.”
“How so Mads?”
“Maybe this is all true information, however we’re working with the equivalent of white noise.”
“You’re suggesting that all the data we’ve collected thus far is useless, that we’ve been working with the background data of everything.”
“Not everything, I’m sure a lot of the data we’ve collected thus far is legitimate after all, but we’ll most likely have to filter through a lot of the data we’ve had thus far.”
“The thing is now we’d have to filter the data we’ve collected in order to determine what’s the white noise and what’s the sample we want to collect, but how do we make a blank with everything given that various variables from different experiments ca’n’t be controlled?”
“Exactly, and I have an idea on where to start with that so we can at least have the blank undiluted”
“Maddie, what do you mean by that?”
“By that I mean-” she talked as she walked towards the Specter Speeder, “-that we take this baby for a walk and collect as much data as possible, and then dilute some of the pure ectoplasm here in order to make a proper blank of a lot of our instruments.”
“Mads you’re a GENIUS!” Jack exclaimed as he dropped all the papers and went inside the vehicle instantly, putting himself in the passenger seat and waited for his wife.
“Calm down Jack, we have to make sure we have all of the equipment and emergency packs full before we go into the Ghost Zone, would you mind helping me with that dear?”
“Of course Mads, now let’s begin this so we can go to the Ghost Zone soon.” With that the pair began looking around the Speeder, making sure that everything was in optimal condition, and checking down the places where food was stored in order to make sure that everything was well, same with all the batteries that the Fentons use in their weapons.
Once everything was accounted for, the pair put on their seatbelts and began the countdown to enter the Ghost Zone. Finally it reached zero and the Fenton parents dove right into the depths of the Ghost Zone, instantly activating all of their ectoplasm collection instruments, hoping that having them out from the beginning would allow them to have as much material as needed.
Once the threshold was crossed, all of the instruments that were inside and outside of the ship began collecting as much data as possible, checking the levels of ambient ectoplasm, the concentration of it, checking how they identify in the Infrared and UltraViolet cameras, measuring the resistance it has with the help of the hull, the refraction of light with the help of an astronomical laser pointer modified to be colored red instead of green, and collecting as many samples as possible so as to make more experiments in the future.
“Mads, there’s so much raw data coming in, take a look at the numbers flying on the computer!”
“Ectoplasm with refraction index of 2.3, wait, 2.3!? That means that ectoplasm refracts more light than Oils and Diamonds!”
“Check out the concentrations of the Ambient Ectoplasm as well, somehow it’s extremely low despite us being in the Ghost Zone. Does that mean that Ectoplasm here is in a gaseous form?”
“The Specter Speeder is currently going at 25 Kilometers per Hour, and usually with the current strength of the motor we would be going at 35 Kilometers per Hour, which means that Ectoplasm has a higher resistance to air yet a smaller resistance than water.”
“Ok, we just collected a lot of data that we’ll have to comb through back at Fenton Works, we should turn back and begin filtering the measurements we got with the ones obtained from Amity.”
“Good idea Jack, do you want to be the one to drive us home now?”
“Sure thing Mads! Be ready Ghost Zone because Jack Fenton will drive through you like there’s no tomorrow!” And with that he took the wheel of the ship, turn around, and step on the gas pedal with full power, ramming through any ghost that was unlucky enough to be in his way (*cough* Johnny 13 *cough*)

Hmm thought
The portal accident zapped Danny full of a lot of high purity ectoplasm and this jumped him up several levels above the average new ghost, he is ectoplasm Georg. Like not even Vlad or Danny got the same power surge.
For most ghosts learning to refine their ectoplam purity and to collect/generate more is the kind of thing that takes millennia. So Danny shows up and immediately starts curb stomping everyone and most ghosts mistake him for a reclusive Ancient who's set up a haunt and decided he's Down To Fight. The actual Ancients know better, but no one actually ever brings it up to Danny because everyone thinks he's In The Know about whatever they believe is going on.
So Phantom who is on the Young Justice/Teen Titans because the heroes know damn well he died at 14 only a few years earlier, but the ghosts are the ones convinced he's thousands of years old.

Elements
Innocent questions could take a person down dangerous rabbit holes.  Questions like, for example, “Why doesn’t ghost ice melt?”
He hadn’t really thought about it before, but, surrounded by the icy caves of the Far Frozen, it seemed a natural enough question.  He hadn’t a lot of time to ask about it when he was here before, in ice power bootcamp, trying to get enough of a handle on them to fight Undergrowth without freezing to death.
But the crystal he’d given Sam had yet to melt, and even when they’d held it over a tea light, it had retained its shape.  They’d only been able to melt ghost ice with ghost fire.  It was cool, but also weird.
Frostbite beamed at him.  Frostbite did a lot of beaming, actually.  It was a welcome change from how most people looked at him.
“An excellent question, Great One!  How familiar are you with elements?”
“Are we talking about fire, earth, water, air, or about, like, the periodic table?”
“The latter.”
Danny shrugged.  “Vaguely?  I mean, I’m in chemistry, but it’s high school and I have bad grades.”
“Do you know what elements are made of?”
“Atoms,” said Danny.
“And atoms?”
“Electrons, protons, and neutrons.  Protons are what determines the type of element.”
“Quite so,” said Frostbite, smiling broadly.  He directed Danny down a branching passage.  “Do you know what protons and neutrons are made of?”
Danny frowned.  “I thought that was as small as you could go,” he said.  “Except light, I guess.”
“Photons are indeed different,” said Frostbite.  “The matter made from protons and neutrons is baryonic matter.  Or, as Walker dubs it, ‘real world matter.’  The term is highly misleading, of course.”  Frostbite scoffed.  “We have our share of baryonic matter here as well, and the Infinite Realms are very real.”
“Huh,” said Danny.  “I’d always wondered about that.”
“Some people simply do not take death well, it seems,” said Frostbite, sadly.  “But protons and neutrons are made of something I believe humans call quarks.  Electrons are leptons.  Photons are bosons.  Quarks, leptons, and bosons are all elementary particles.”
“Okay,” said Danny, feeling as if all this was going over his head.  Far, far over his head.
“Ectoplasm is largely made of entirely different elementary particles.”  He opened a door for Danny.
“So…  Is ghost ice, um, made of water made out of those different particles?”
“Alas, the physics do not quite work out that way,” said Frostbite.  “Ectoplasm has its own analog to atoms, but none of them directly correspond to those that create water, or any other earthly element.”
“But I’ve seen water here.  I see ice here.  Even if it doesn’t always behave like regular ice.”
“Yes,” said Frostbite, “but that water is hydrogen and oxygen.  Baryonic matter.  But ectoplamic matter and baryonic matter can interact.”
“So, ghost ice acts the way it does because it’s ectoplasmic matter and baryonic matter interacting?”
“Indeed, Great One!  When we reduce the temperature of our surroundings with our powers, we are in fact appending a specific ectoplasmic particle to the other particles surrounding us.  The addition of the ectoplasmic particle absorbs energy - heat.”
“An endothermic reaction?  That’s what that’s called, right?”
“That is largely correct.  But the ectoplasmic particles associated with our ice powers tend to break down and decay into other particles rather rapidly, with a few exceptions.  One of those exceptions–” Frostbite tapped his knuckles against his ice arm, “--is when it has bonded to water.  The ectoplasmic particles change the structure of the ice enough to make it far more stable than regular ice and allow us to control it or melt it at will.”
“Is that why it melts with ghost fire?  Because it messes with the ectoplasmic particles?”
“Yes.  Anything that disrupts the particles too much will cause the water molecules to act as they usually do.  But there are few things that can do that, and we can invest more power in our ice to make it stronger.  For example, I regularly attempt to infuse my arm with more ectoplasmic particles, although I fear I have long since reached saturation.”  He smiled, ruefully.  “Ah, and here we are, Great One!  A room for you to practice.”
He opened the doors to a large and completely empty cavern.
“You know,” said Danny, “my aim has gotten better.  I had just recovered from almost dying, last time.  I don’t think I’ll hit anything I don’t want to this time.”
“I think it is still best to try it out here, first, just for all our peace of mind.”  Frostbite patted his shoulder.
“Okay,” said Danny.  He didn’t really mind, per se, and he’d felt really bad about hitting the other yetis, but…  He’d also sort of liked having an audience that was cheering for him.
“Before you begin, though,” said Frostbite.  “Who do you know that can use fire?  It sounded like you have done some tests.”
“Oh,” said Danny.  “I just used mine.”
“Pardon?”
“I just used my fire,” said Danny, raising a finger and summoning a tongue of flame.
Frostbite blinked at it.  “That,” he said, “is highly unusual.”
“Is it?”
“Yes, most people who use ice cannot also use fire.  Different forms of energy control.  Have you ever used electric attacks?”
“Yeah, but I’m not very good at it, and I don’t like it.  I end up shocking myself.”
“Fascinating.  May I?”  He gestured at Danny’s hand.  Danny extended it to him, and didn’t protest when he started to examine it.  “How is your general telekinesis?”
“No good in a fight, I have to concentrate too much.”
“Have you ever moved the wind?  Manipulated water?  The weather?”
“Only for a little bit,” said Danny.  “Right after Vortex hit me with lightning that one time.”
“What?”
“What?”
“Vortex hit you with lightning and you gained powers?”
“Yeah?”
“The Ancient Vortex?”
“I don’t know how old he is.”
Frostbite stared at Danny for a long moment, then sighed heavily.  “If it didn’t show up in your exam today, it is probably fine, but that is the sort of thing to tell your doctors.”
Danny shrugged.  “I forgot,” he said.  “So…  What are we going to do today?  Anything…”  He grinned.  “Cool?”
Frostbite chuckled.  “Great One, everything we do is ‘cool,’ as you put it.  Now, let us begin with some basic exercises.”
“Would you call them… warm ups?”
“Sometimes, I fear I will never understand human slang.  Particle physics is much more straightforward.”

Danny nervously looks around the dinner table.
Lex Luthor is casually sipping his tea in the seat to the left. Where he got that tea? Danny still doesn’t know. He suspects the guy found a stash Vlad hid somewhere.
A quick glance further left reveals Bruce Wayne, who had also come to speak with the Fentons after several refusals to buy their technology. He even brought some reporter in glasses with him.
On the other side of the table is Vlad having a staring contest with Oliver Queen. The guy had heard about a famous ‘playboy’ making his way to his precious Maddie’s house and had come as…’backup’. Money vs money. Jack immediately let him in. But they did run into Mr Queen who had…apparently been hiding in the bushes?
Danny narrows his eyes at the leaves Still clinging to the man’s suit. He…really doesn’t want to know what rich men’s hobbies were. He already knew enough from Vlad.
2 seats down from him and right between Vlad and the reporter was a man allegedly from ‘Nanda Parbat’ who had been interested in the effects of Ectoplam and their environmental impacts. Only he had been much more polite than Luthor’s initial meeting and seemed to have earned himself an invite to dinner by portraying himself as a family man. He had even brought his ‘grandson’ to ‘bond’ with the Fenton kids, who Danny is like…70% sure is some form of clone. (He’s got Ellie vibes) Danny thought he heard his name whispered at one point. Hera-something. Harry? Danny’s just call him Harry.
For some reason it seems the playboy guy has some beef with the foreign businessman. His eye kept twitching.
And then there was that woman who had just paraded herself into the house and claimed the main seat at the head of the table. Something usually reserved for his mom. Danny thought he heard this Waller woman was some form of contact for a branch of Government that the GIW had recommended them to. Ancients, he prays she’s not related to Walker.
Poor Jazz was on Danny’s right, and doing her best to remain professional even as the politely phrased insults between Mr. Queen and Vlad kept increasing in volume. Meanwhile, Danny was trying to sink into his chair and using all his willpower to not turn invisible right then and there.
How did this even happen?
And then…oh then…the food was finally done and Danny and Jazz both had the sudden, all encompassing horror as they realized that they had such ‘important’ guests that their parents had decided to cook themselves instead of ordering food like usual.
There was no escape now. The plates had already been set down and Jack was raising the metal lids off them.
In an attempt to create artificial liquid kryptonite, Lex Luthor’s Superman Weaponry R&D Team accidentally made artificial ectoplasm. Through months and months of testing, this item has incredible properties and could make revolutionary advancements in clean energy. This could be used to help millions of people and help the environment through years of releasing and spreading new ectoplasm powered technology throughout the globe. Lex however has other ideas. The advancements this could bring to weaponry he can sell to the highest bidder and could lead to tech that could stop Superman once and for all.

THIS IS PART 2!!
Now hear me out, and I probably have to explain a few of my mental scenario headcanons on purpose this time for this to make sense, but please bear with me
Gotham the city has Gotham the ghost and she's weak, well not weak but low energy. She could be strong if she didn't waste/use her energy (this will make sense later I promise)
(You know this fics where she's always giving up her powers because she's dying from low energy or trying to feed on danny and failing, that's where this came from)
I'll come back to this
Ok now hear this, Amity park
(Why doesn't Amity have its own ghost by now, look at all that juicy ectoplams in Amity)
I'm gonna try to keep my justice league crossover headcanons mostly out of this, but with Amity park citizens feeling abandoned by the outside world/justice league not answering there pleas, that strong emotion formed Amity, Amity parks ghost
(I'm going to need to use kitty to help explain my head Canon about ghosts)
You know how kitty couldn't survive outside the ghost zone, regular ghost outside the zone haven't bonded with enough ectoplasm to survive aka be allowed to enter the ghost zone/infinite realms
Even ghost zone ghosts don't stay out of the zone for too long periods of time when they're attacking Amity park they need to recharge after days-month(depending how strong they are) or intake some ectoplams or feed on their obsession
Weaker ghost from the living hey can barely keep themselves visible and speak English(or they're natural language)
They're stuck invisible, intangible and can only speak the language of the dead
This is why they take to write on walls, showing you they're there by building up right energy to move something, why you hear static or mumbling when they try to talk etc
🤔 I'm taking this as a headcanon to why Wulf only speaks Esperanto and ghost speech
Now I don't know how Gotham the ghost was formed or how long was Gotham the city made, but Gotham the city barely had ectoplams like barely, but Gotham the ghost was able to store and build up her energy over time
Now with the city not being a very safe place she wanted her citizens to be able to live in peace, but she wasn't strong enough to help and could only watch, when she was strong enough to enter the zone
( just thought of this, but whenever I think about the ghost I always say oh they need enough ectoplams to survive in the ghost zone/infinite realm, then they need to find a portal and enter
BUT if so wouldn't there be infinite zone ghost just around looking for one and being lucky enough to find a portal, do they fly all the way to the brunuda triangle?? Wouldn't there be more of them in the living world, low on energy or causing havoc or drunk on their obsession?
Now what if when you have enough ectoplams the zone reaches out to you and forms a natural portal for you to enter, I've read a fanfic where Danny brought a gotham ghost girl that got shit in the face to the zone, she was visible, speaking english and strong enough to utilize her energy, but i like the thought of the zone reaching out 🤔)
Anywho now that Gotham is in the zone now she build up energy and is becoming stronger but unlike other ghost it doesn't go to strength attacks, or she doesn't put it towards that
With her obsession she decides to make a Gotham in the zone and uses all her energy for the ghost zone Gotham and keeps other non ghotam ghost out, her powers allow her to access living world Gotham, portals only to Gotham, she can also observe living world gotham within the zone, but because she uses all her energy on ghost zone Gotham she's kinda like kitty, where she can't stay out of the zone too long
But she spends her little time bringing in low tier ghost to ghost zone Gotham, but they're not allowed to leave because they wouldn't survive in the ghost zone (now hear me out what if Bruce's parents are residents of ghost zone Gotham, and basically anybody a that was lucky enough to form a ghost after being killed by a villain in Gotham)
Ok now back to Amity, she's a little different
But before that Amity park has always been ghostly and home for paranormal activities because the thinner line between them and the ghost zone/infinite realms than other places (a reason why Maddie and Jack moved there)
A recent headcanon and I can't remember where it came from but... I actually I don't know where to start this.... the portal worked because how thin the veil between the two dimensions were in Amity, it wouldn't have worked or worked that easily if it was some other place
Amity park was always going to be brought into the ghost zone regardless of pariah dark
Like in the future minus if the fentons never moved there, natural portals would have become more frequent and the areas where they appear the barrier between the living world and ghost zone would become thinner until cracks start appearing and then the veil breaks and Amity is sucked into the zone all together
Now because of the fenton portal
The energy of the portal sucked the stray ectoplams in Amity stabilizing it for longer than it would have cracked
And with the animosity towards the outside world and the justice league when amitians were calling for help with pariah-
(maybe at that point the justice league put them on block or something after the 13th call about a box ghost or ghost octopus attacking)
-dark but they still didn't show up, like the only days they did show up in the early calls were on truces or just bad timing
That's when uh....let's say Lance thunder called and it cut off like they were immediately put on voice-mail and everyone in Amity just felt abandoned, which formed Amity
I don't really have a headcanons on how she looks, but I picture her younger than Gotham.. like 13 years old but plays in the sad castle, I can see her randomly playing her Amity parks with the children....
Anywho after just being formed and sucked into the zone by pariahs whole attack, Amity basically got a speed run towards higher ghost tier and because of the fresh resources she can survive a long time out of the zone but when she returns to the zone the entirety of Amity park is brought with her until she recharges to return to the living world
Amity park has good ectoplams base than Gotham city but Amitys out put is more than the imput of Amity park, she waste more energy than she absorbs because the energy she gets she releases some into Amity park
(Maybe this is where the citizens of Amity start to become liminal)
, but like it changes
Let's say she only goes into the zone once a year, the she goes into to the zone every 6 month then every 3, to once a month
Then the time she stays in the zone gets longer each time
And then the reverse happens when she doesn't have to stay in the zone for long periods of time and start to stay longer outside the zone, until she pops in and out whenever she wants
No town wide identity reveal happened just his family and Val
(So the next time they're sucked into the zone would be one year from when they were sucked into it by Pariah)
And by the time they officially connect with the DC world as in the justice league finally take a notice it when danny and everyone is aged up in college, traveling, liminal in different varieties and Amity probably goes under like every 3 months
Random thought but
You can say all cities were just "thoughts" without ectoplams and motive to form
"We're from New York"
We're from jersey" Metropolis etc, and some of them even has mascots

Way of Life & Cause of Death
Everything hurt. Green rippled and twisted anywhere he looked, the movement confusing and uncomfortable when everything felt scrambled. Where was he?
Who was he, again?
Or more importantly, what was he? There was a painful pounding when he reached for those questions, having to force his eyes shut to try and push the worst of it back.
They should know, right? Have some sort of idea instead of an empty meaningless pain. Instead it almost felt like the twisting green of the sky had more answers than his head.
“So you’re finally awake? I almost thought you were just an empty shell.”
He jerked at the sound, staring openly at the massive red eyes that had appeared. They were like gaping wounds against the vibrant greens, but even that was getting eaten away by some pale surface. A face.
He knew he didn’t like it. Not why he felt uncomfortable and unsafe, just that something squirmed in his stomach and told him to get back and away from this massive thing. Something more than just a natural fear of something huge. Like he’d seen something like it before. Did he, though? How had he even figured out how to back away when he didn’t even know where he was? Was flying just a thing he did?
“Oh calm down. If I was going to hurt you, I would have acted when you were just senselessly floating, wouldn’t I?” The thin smile that joined the eyes did not help settle the squirming discomfort.
Yet he didn’t know anything. Beyond just reacting, everything was still a muddled blank space. This too-big creature might know something? Did he even want its help, with how uncomfortable those eyes made him? It took a moment to find his tongue, another to even grasp at the word and make it. “Where?”
“The Infinite Realms, of course.” Starlight seemed to snake below the strange, mask-like face, a darkness that blotted out the neons beyond like some sort of living curtain. “Your home, little one.”
He tried to move away again at that, an awful spike of wrongness screaming in his skull. Not his home, not his friend. He didn’t have a why, just the feeling.
All he did was run into the flowing curtain of starlight, spindly fingers locking him in place even as he struggled.
“I just told you to calm down.”
The voice was everywhere, which he decided did not make him want to calm down at all. He expected the hands to claw at him, to crush him. They didn’t. He was just sort of supported in the undulating black sea. “Who are you?”
The face let out a laugh. “Who am I? Don’t you have more important questions to worry about?”
Well, yes, but he wasn’t going to ask Mr. space face about it. Knowing who anyone was would still be progress.
“You can ask. I don’t mind helping new little ghosts.”
Ghosts. The word felt right, but also cold. Like it wasn’t a good thing, even if it was true. “What do you mean?”
“You didn’t exist until now, did you? A body freshly built from ectoplasm, but not yet awake until now. So you’re new.”
Part of him wanted to deny it, but a cold throb in his chest kept his mouth shut. So he was a ghost? Some ectoplasm thing? “I didn’t exist?” That part didn’t feel right. He should know things, but couldn’t. So he was something before, right?
“Indeed. You might be dealing with some leftover emotions and thoughts, ectoplam so loves to hold on to those.”
There was a weird pressure at his head. Oh. The thin fingers were carding through the bright white strands of hair on his head. Like he was a little frightened kitten, or something. “That doesn’t make sense.”
“Of course it does. You made yourself a nice little body out of the ectoplasm flowing freely here in the Infinite Realms. It wasn’t always yours, nor will it always be. It remembers things of those who used it before, little one.” The brushing got a little gentler, but didn’t let him go. “They will fade as you adjust and make use of it. Do not let the confusion consume you, or you will just chase after shadows, trying to be the remnants of someone else. A terrible shame and waste of a new soul.”
Now he didn’t know how to feel. So all those instinctive feelings weren’t even his? It was true that the big scary space thing hadn’t actually hurt him, even though his first reaction was to run and fear them. “How do you know they aren’t mine, though?”
“Don’t you think you would remember existing?”
Yes. He felt like he should remember. That there was something. But nothing like making a body, nothing like the endless green. Yet he didn’t even have that. Just waking up and feeling lost. Alone. Scared.
“It’s normal for new ghosts. I know somewhere you can stay while you figure out how you want to be.”
It better not be somewhere all dark and scary. “Maybe I can figure it out on my own.”
“You might. I admit I am being selfish.” A low chuckle rumbled around him, only getting a little louder when he flinched. “Younger beings like yourself still have so many dreams to discover and have. If you simply got wiped out by a mindless beast, or crushed by trespassing unknowingly, I would miss out on all of that.”
So stars here was some sort of weird…dream…ghost thing? That sort of made sense. Those huge purple horns he could sometimes make out, sheep were sleepy things? Or something? It just felt right. “So that happens to new ghosts a lot?” The fear was creeping back up his spine.
“When they’re unfortunate enough to form in a desolate part of the realms like this, yes.” They paused, though the fingers never stopped messing with his head. “Which is why I’m here to guide you somewhere safe, if you wish.”
“Or you’re trying to trick me.”
“So suspicious for one so young! I have been upfront and honest with you so far, haven’t I?”
The fear shrivelled in the face of the guilt choking up his throat. He was being unfair, wasn’t he? He hadn’t been hurt. Honestly, with the weird hair combing his head did feel better. Less muddled and lost, at least. That, and he knew he was a ghost now. “I guess.” It was more of a mumble than anything.
“If you do not like it, you can leave. I expect a little cold core like yourself will feel quite happy there, however.”
“Cold core?” Great, more nonsense words. Weirdly familiar but nonsense words.
“Ice, to be more specific. The ones who live there can explain what cores are better than I can. It’s the ‘you’ that woke up, in short.”
Even though he hadn’t really agreed to go anywhere yet, he could tell they were moving now, a sort of change in how the stars undulated and seemed to streak past instead of remaining where he could see their paths. Was ice, was cold good? There was a sort of cold thing in his chest, it sort of pulsed at the promise of cold. So maybe that was true too.
“So, will you follow? Or do you prefer being given a lift?”
“I can follow!” It comes out louder than expected, a bite he didn’t feel snapping free. An indignant anger that just left him feeling even more confused.
“Fierce little thing, aren’t you? Good. It’s good to be a fighter if you frequent this part of the Realms.” The sky retreated from him, leaving him loose in the green of the realms again, though the massive ghost was right beside him, a constant reminder of how small and scrawny he was in comparison.
Was there a reason he made a body in a sort of black and white costume? Did it have something to do with the ice thing? It didn’t look very cold. That, and he swore he’d had legs before instead of just a misty black tail. Or was that some made up memory too? Instead of thinking too much about it, he focused on following the bigger ghost. Moving felt familiar, almost felt good, even if it was a bit difficult to tell how much he was moving with so few landmarks and how his guide was blocking half of his view.
The strange chunk of frozen land made him feel happy. Like it was a good place, a safe place. Not like where he woke up, and not like the dream ghost. It was weird to just want to be there, now that he could see it. Yet he longed for it anyway. Or maybe his ectoplasm was the only part of him that did.
—-
“You’ll play nicely with him, won’t you?” Nocturne asked the three yeti children, who kept their heads lowered even as their stumpy tails anxiously twisted in the snow behind them.
“Yeah! Course we will!”
“Uh. Mr Lord of Dreams, sir.” The second added with a cough when the first failed to add anything even after an elbow.
“Yeah, that!”
Danny looked anxiously at the three children, eyes flicking between them and himself. Perhaps he felt out of place, still being mostly humanoid. “It’s nice to meet you?” The boy finally managed to make himself speak, even though his lengthened and flattened ears betrayed his discomfort still.
Yet the clear anxiety only seemed to egg the fuzzy young ones on, recognizing a fellow kid who needed friends. “You too! Wanna play?”
“Uh. Sure? Play what?”
“Wellllll your horns are kinda tiny sooooooo we can’t do headbutts. But we can do-”
“SNOWBALL FIGHT!” The third one yelled and pelted the second one with snow, setting off a chorus of laughter and playful growls as more snow started flying.
Good. The boy would be more than distracted enough while he set Frostbite straight in the whole matter.
Which was tedious, dealing with a fang filled face and burning eyes as the leader of the far Frozen snarled at his perfectly sensible explanation.
“I will not lie to him. Your cruel games do not interest me.” Frostbite snapped, fury making his frozen arm crackle and flake. “We thank him for all his work by lying and cheating him? Never.”
“Now Frostbite, surely you don’t think the truth is kinder to him? Look at him, happily playing with your people. You call that cruelty?”
Another mindless growl. “A mockery, taking advantage of him when he’s still lost and confused.”
“Ah yes, joyful snowball fights are clearly the most awful things to do to him.” He bit back a sigh, knowing needling the bear would only make this even more tedious. “Why do you think telling him the truth is so much better, Frostbite? I know you like the little pain in our collective sides.”
“It is only the right thing to do. He will remember who he is with time.”
“Not if he does not try to recall his past, he won’t. It’s not as if he has that old body of his, that brain where he used to store all his memory. Nor does he have any of his original ectoplasm, lost with the rest of him. I did not lie to him. He is a new ghost, now that he’s truly dead.”
“He has history, people and places he cares for! You can’t just think tearing all of that from him is right.”
“Of course it is.”
Frostbite’s growl stopped, apparently struck dumb by the simple response. “No.”
“You know as well as I do that we are truly cut off from our sister dimension now. The fact he formed at all is proof enough.”
“The Realms always shift. This gap may very well be temporary.”
“All our connections were cut off. Killed. Ended. The creature kept in a mockery of life is here, in the Realms in a post death haze. As the thing that gave him life was killed. Of course he joined it in death.”
“You might be powerful, but you are not all seeing. We have had portals wink out before, and they have always returned.” Yet it was clear his words were finally digging into the massive yeti’s head.
“All of them at once? After the humans acted to be rid of us for good?” Nocturn only grinned in the silence as it stretched out longer and longer. “You are not so delusional to think this is just something that will be undone in time, are you?”
“I plan to find out more of what was done, and how it can be repaired. That does not mean we should lie to him, reduce him to a newly formed child that knows almost nothing at all.”
“Do you know who asked me to bring the little brat to you, to be cared for? It was not my idea, I assure you. I was perfectly happy to simply feed off the nightmares he would have of being lost and locked away from everything he knows. To feel the betrayal and emptiness and reality that he is no longer special, and is merely another dead soul. A ghost that can never even get back to everything he cares about so strongly.” Oh how he wished it could be that simple. Unfortunately, some ghosts were too powerful to ignore.
The dismissive snort bodes ill. “You do not take orders from anyone Nocturn, I know that much.”
“My dear sibling insisted I made sure he was comfortable with friends and allies. It was he who insisted I did not bring up his lost life.”
“The master of time?” Frostbite’s ears drooped, tail suddenly quite limp against the ground. “Even he truly thinks it is hopeless?”
“He can only see the future of places connected to the realms. He sees nothing of that world of humans anymore. Little Phantom out there would only suffer knowing about the world he cannot get to. Besides, all his little human friends probably just expect he’s dead and gone. Not that he’s still lingering as a new ghost. More guilt for him to pine and rage about but be unable to change.”
Frostbite did watch the children playing just at the edge of sight, tumbling and throwing up snow with reckless abandon. “He would be angry to know we kept his past from him.”
“I will be blunt. The only one who can give that old Phantom what he would want is me. By sinking him into an endless dream, a delusion to let him think he has what he can never have again.” He’d seen a future of that, the boy begging for something, anything to help the gaping hole where his heart and family should be. “I am perfectly fine having another sleepwalker, another mind to feed on until he’s nothing but a filter for emotions and ectoplasm. Yet others disagree. So he’s here, safe with you. If you don’t want to ‘lie’, so be it. I’ve done my part.”
More than his part, honestly. If Clockwork cared about the little brat so much, he should have collected him himself. He’d leave all the nonsense to Frostbite and his gaggle of yetis and wash his hands of the whole mess. He had far more pressing things to worry about now that there would be so few dreams with an entire world gone, unable to be harvested from.
