like of course maybe considering his and the rogues ages, they might think being rich and having all the riches in the world will be what they need. Maybe they've had that thought for a long time, maybe they've done this thing for so long and it's been great.

But what if he got older and just idk

storm isn't given much characterisation in stuff but i always just get the image if all the rogues were given the option to do something else other then what the are...i feel storm would be the first to crack maybe.

Put On Your Raincoats | Exchange of Partners (Mulot, 1976)

At the very least, this distinguishes itself on a pornographic level through the sheer variety of settings. The first scene is a fake rape in an elevator between a married couple. (In the English dub that I watched, people waiting outside complain that “these French elevators are the worst in the world”.). There’s a handjob and blowjob in a car while the couple drives down the road. (I’m going to make an educated guess that there was some movie magic here to suggest that the car was moving.) There’s some action in a bathroom with wall mirrors. In a beach tent. On a motorcycle. (Not moving, thankfully, although the lady does rev it while she lays on the seat.) In a biker bar. In a boat. And maybe outside too. I probably missed a few locations, but what’s novel here is not just that the sex happens in all these places, but that the movie incorporates them into the action with a good amount of style. Take the biker bar group scene, which is given an unexpected charge with the coloured lighting and wide angle lenses. And outside the sex scenes, this is a pretty handsome looking movie thanks to some nice location shooting.

Perhaps this is to be expected given that this is directed by Claude Mulot, who may be known to those with similar viewing habits as mine for directing La Femme Objet AKA Programmed for Pleasure AKA Science Fiction Lady, a pornographic take on the Frankenstein story with some striking lo fi style in the lab scenes and a nice coat of slickness otherwise. That movie did exhibit that sense of slight condescension I associate with French porn, where the movie maybe thinks the characters are a little foolish for their desires and that maybe thinks we are too for getting off on it. This one I think is a bit more complex in its attitudes.

As the title suggests, the story involves non-monogamous, extramarital sex, which among other things is a good way to get in a bunch of sexual combinations in your porno without needing too great a cast. (Not that this reeks of penny pinching by any means. As I suggested, the location work gives this a huge boost.) But the movie complicates this premise with the state of the characters’ marriages: one couple newly married and madly in lust, the other falling apart and no longer physically intimate. The characters are spurred into these alternate couplings by Olivia Flores, an agent of chaos with heart-shaped sunglasses, who enters the movie on a motorcycle and leaves the same way, but with a little less on. And the movie stops to linger on the aftermath, and the characters’ feelings from their own actions and those of their spouses. It’s not too much of a spoiler to suggest that this is pro-swinging, but the fact that it credibly evokes ambivalence about the subject and the characters’ corresponding contemplation is pretty impressive. In some ways, it feels like a smuttier take on one of Eric Rohmer’s Moral Tales.

And I do think this gets a boost from the performances, namely those of Flores and Karine Gambier. Gambier has an unforgettable face thanks to her thin, nigh nonexistent eyebrows, which give her a severe look and extra penetrating gaze in other things I’ve seen her in. Her, she does a lot of gazing too, but those same qualities give her an intriguing sense of emotional obfuscation. You can tell she’s thinking long and hard about something, but what exactly remains a secret.
