The last chapter has been posted, which is the Epilogue. This epilogue takes place years later after the fall of Gotham and near the beginning of Season 5.

When Xander Wilde meets Thomas Wayne for a business agreement he never expected the man to provide him with an assistant. Xander, a reclusive man with inner demons struggles to figure out if he should keep his assistant Ecco, or if he should get rid of her. Ecco weaves her way into the troubled man’s life making herself a valuable asset to Xander.

I will never understand this idea that the only valid ships are the ones that are canon, or have a legitimate chance of becoming canon. Like, this idea in fandoms where you’re only allowed to ship things that might be validated by the writers, that might be/are canon, or else you’re Doing It Wrong and wasting time and you shouldn’t bother. It’s not allowed to just be about exploring the interesting and entertaining dynamics of two or more characters, or even just throwing characters together for funsies. It can only be about picking literally one OTP, the best one, the best representation, the one most likely to be made canon, and proclaiming that that particular ship is the only valid one, and investing all your energy into it, only to give up on it when it doesn’t go exactly the way you’d hoped in canon.

(and then there are those times when this idea that the only valid, worthwhile ships are the ones that are canon turns ugly. When the majority or part of a fandom has latched onto a ship and started treating it as a great offence/the end of the world when said ship isn’t made canon, to the point where they’re harassing the writers/producers/actors etc)

Entirely random but I constantly check your blog to see if you've posted again because I live for your fic ideas and I think I'd have like, a stroke out of joy if you wrote them into real fics like that Mommy! Ecco/Bruce/Daddy!Jeremiah one my wallet is OPEN and the Jim/Selina one???? *chef's kiss* if I could write any better I'd just do it myself but alas my sentence structure is ass

Opinions please!

So, I can't find any fan fics that really catch my interest that are based on eccomiah or jerome/harley.

(Shout out to @empg for doing your own fan fic, you're inspiring me!)

And since I can't find any I have some ideas that would be interesting to write about:

-how ecco became crazy and her devotion towards jeremiah

-ecco becoming harley after the finale (one shot)

-jerome becoming the joker (jeremiah didn't exist and it's Jerome that goes through the jeremiah journey)

Their are people that think Jeremiah is straight? Pfft

Saw a post hating people who ship waylaska & got a bit annoyed cause they said that people who ship it are not mature, what a bunch of bs no age has to do with shipping its just some of aren't blind yes people got on the ecco x Jeremiah train cause of the joker x harley thing but in the show he was clearly not interested in her he was very violent to her which I think was just to show us the real Jeremiah maybe just emphasisibg the fact Jeremiah isn't the innocent bean he seemed to be. Ecco worked for Xander she became obsessed with a gay guy who gives her enough hope to keep her trust but yanno who he's literally always talking about Bruce Wayne it's like another thing that people like batman x joker and Jerome was more insane not actually attracted to Bruce just wanting to kill him but Jeremiah is another part of joker he's obsessed he wants to be loved in a weird way its possible because he just lost his brother who was once the closet person to him he wants Bruce to replace Jerome but he clearly has a romantic underline which is why i think a few people do insest stories between the Valeskas & honestly I don't hate it in some ways it makes a lot of sence, maybe Jeremiah didn't want to leave Jerome maybe it was another family member who did all those bas things to Jeremiah & older Jeremiah had just remembered it wrong theirs so many great fan fic that explore all of this & to me one I read recently made a lot of sence it was that Jeremiah was sexually abused by his uncle (or probably his mother's boyfriend) & Jerome was actually trying to kill the person hurting his brother but I also like the story lines where Jeremiah ends up pissing his uncle off for the sake of Jerome not being abused. It's some interesting stuff to try & peice together thier childhoods because we can go as messed up as we want cause, it's Gotham baby.

Anyway I think eccomiah is alright when it isn't taken seriously but this kinda ignorance to the character is really annoying because that boi is gay as hell okay & that's what makes his character so fucking good (among all the other things)

PLEASE tell me more about your niche OTPS Jerome/Selina is a hot take like Jim/Selina DETAILS HEAD CANONS s h a r e. And Hatterbat has SO much potential too! (I'm one of those people who will give almost any ship a chance. If it's interesting and/or hot it's fair game!)

please picture me pulling up a 20 slide power point presentation as i answer this message.  no but fr there are so many niche otps i have for gotham. i mean valeyne, wayleska, baby batcat, abusive eccomiah, gobblepot, etc. those are massive faves but they’re the mainstream (tm) ships ya know? they’re on a separate category than my niche ones, and my niche ones are as follows:  jerome/selina (what i’ve lovingly dubbed valeskyle), jervis/bruce (hatterbat ofc), jim/selina (i’m still trying to think of a ship name for these two, jimlina maybe? idk lol), jervis/jeremiah (tetchmiah<3), and jerome/lila (momson valeskacest my beloved). ecco/selina (selinecco) too obviously since i wrote a fic for them lol.  i just think that they’re all so appealing, not only visually but what dynamics can be brought to the table here + the few bits of canon for some of them. like, for jerome/selina, it’s a mix of how jerome acts when he first meets her (”selina, huh? 👀” “she’s not that kinda girl ;)”) + the meshing of their personalities and backgrounds. jerome is very much the type of man to love a woman who can kick his ass, and selina is VERY much that kinda gal. not to mention the similarities in their pasts re: their relationships with their parents. selina never knew her father and jerome had his but didn’t know he did and thus grew up believing he didn’t have one either. selina’s mother wholly and totally abandoned her. jerome’s mother metaphorically abandoned him (in the sense that she abandoned her duty to be a good mother) and mentally and emotionally (and most likely, physically) abused him. + jerome is very about bringing out the darkness in bruce, who has it hidden and under taps so well, so imagine what he would do with selina who wears her darkness and violence on her sleeve and has no issues giving into it. i could see him very easily luring her down a darker path, not so much like a joker/harley situation, but perhaps something similar. he doesn’t want her to be a henchman, he wants her to be a partner in crime btw fun little addition for hatterbat: in follow the white rabbit (i believe is the ep) when jim is hunting down jervis and ends up having to talk to him over the phone while looking at him through the telescope? there’s a pin board behind him where jervis has info about jim pinned up there. and pinned on it is a photo of alfred and bruce ;)) just a tidbit for everybody’s stalker jervis hatterbat needs
