ECCE sucked ass and I could go on and on about it but instead have this pic of my setup which was the one thing that I'm pretty dang proud of.

also literally everyone who recognized my LO art either read LO and hated it or didn't read LO but heard the horror stories

so if you're either of these people I talked to this past weekend, welcome to my shitposting blog where I talk way too much about a webtoon with way too much fame, buckle up (￣y▽,￣)╭

also yeah i'm not doing ECCE again jesus christ it was bad, like i've only done two conventions as an artist alley vendor so far and even i know this isn't how conventions are supposed to go

i made $55 over two days which isn't even half of what i spent for the table, and not a single print sold, just my $3-$5 omori stickers and a few zines that people generously tipped for

not me being a salty spitoon or anything, i'm not mad at the fact that people didn't buy my stuff, i'm mad that the organization of this event was so subpar it wasn't until halfway through it that i realized the red flags were on the wall because they had done ZERO marketing for the artist alley and the convention itself had nothing going on but a few panels

and two of the panels were literally the same thing, one was "how to be a comic artist" and the other was "how to be an indie comic artist" like i'm sorry whAT those are the saME-

sigh I'm so mad that my Rekindled update got pushed off for this. ECCE is absolutely on my "don't bother" shitlist now, esp considering other artists who've done it before have attested to the fact that this was par for the course. Absolutely not worth it, not even for someone like me living on the bottom wrung of the webcomic industry LMAO I feel so bad for all the other artists I saw sitting around with nothing to do two days in a row, it's 10x more exhausting to sit around with nothing to do and it really showed by the end of the weekend because every artist who I checked up on said they just wanted to go home, for all the reasons you shouldn't be hearing at a comic convention.

I've got Art on the Bridge tomorrow. I'm suddenly way more optimistic that this one will go well despite it not being my usual kind of scene at all.

Genuinely so sorry to you all there wasn't a Rekindled episode tonight. The expo wasn't worth it.

(may be animated and/or with irl actors, videogames, books/comics ecc) side note: despite my ignorance about Baldur's Gate story and characters, i find xan and radri so cute and soft and i enjoy every of their interactions through your works 💗 so is radri your oc? how you came up with her character?

very casually, as in i don't know all the lore and don't stay updated: dragon age, stardew valley, morrowind/oblivion, taskmaster uk/nz. i've also been trying to read more but it is such a pain trying to find books without romance jumpscares

radri's my player character in bg1/2, and i'm never sure if i can really call player characters oc's since they already have an entire plot structured around them, but her personality/appearance are from me at least :') i made her in a similar way to how i made cela--by taking the dialog choices that made the most sense to me as a player piloting a character with the provided backstory, using those to roughly sketch out a personality, and then considering their dynamic with their love interest from there

the basis of radri's personality, though, came from my dislike of the bias i perceived in xan's romance towards a player character who was unfailingly optimistic, cheerful, smiling, happy, confident, always telling him to cheer up and smile, etc. i wanted someone who would never tell him to "smile, xan!"--someone who was tentative, quiet, nervous, strong-but-also-kinda-pathetic in her own way. and thus radri came to be.

i really like the way her social anxiety plays with him, and her response to his confession remains one of my favorites, because xan essentially annoyed radri into overriding her anxiety and being the most frank with him she'd ever been up to that point. i just feel like the nature of their personalities means he really pushes her at times, in positive ways, and she pushes him in return, making him confront/reflect on aspects of himself that are clearly suited for solitude rather than partnership

I really want to share my experience with my first lover

You've probably heard a little about things he had done to me (posts against me, faking his death for my attention ecc.)

The thing is, I realized how toxic and bad he was just now

I was MADLY in love with him

Like seriously, I wrote his name everywhere (even on the walls lol)

At about 1/2 months into our relationship, he revealed to me that he had cheated on me, that he flirted with another girl

I forgave him (honestly I should have left him there)

Then, on discord calls, he would make fun of me, with his friend. It wasn't nice

I often cried because of that

And actually felt sad when he joined a call sometimes

Once, I told my friend Francesco that he made fun of me, I don't remember what he told me, but once, me, him, my ex, and his friend were in a call, and he kept making fun of me as I was playing Ark.

At one point me and Francesco left the call and went to talk privately, and I cried, oh boy did I cry

Poor Francesco, I kept faking that I disliked him so I could make my ex and his friends like me more, and it hurt

During our relationship, there was this girl, I'll call her D

He was attached to her like a magnet

He didn't leave her side, he actually started talking to her instead of me.

He actually made a roleplay in which he was his girlfriend

While still in a relationship with me

I mean, I got mad at him, and he actually was able to make me think I was the problem and not him

The thing I realized most recently is how messed up he is

We both revealed to each other our fetishes, you all know my fetish

He has a fetish for obese people

I think you understand what I'm talking about

And, I didn't say anything, because I don't feel like I'm In a position to judge a person by their fetishes

The thing is that he wanted me to get fatter

He was telling me to do exercises to make my butt bigger for him

He was telling me to change my whole body for him

He made me take pictures with pillows under my shirt to make me seem fatter

And in exchange, I asked him for heartbeat recordings

NOT EVEN ONCE did I force him to do exercises. NEVER.

I once asked him to hold his breath, though

Now, after we broke up, he went insane

He insulted me several times (called me a whore)

Then, he exposed my messages about my friends to those friends (they all insulted me) and made them turn against me

Yeah, they said sorry...but you can't insult a person for being themselves and then be like "I'm sorry"

Then, he made public posts about me (told private stuff, exposed to everyone I was bisexual like it was a bad thing, and put me in a bad light)

He kept finding ways to talk to me, he even expected me to put him in my comics, series ecc. And when I told him I'm not comfortable with that, he insulted me yet again and accused me of trying to separate him from his friends

He always found a way to fucking talk to me, even if I didn't want to

And now, he faked being hacked and his own death for my attention to see if I still cared about him.

That's the last straw.

If he tries to talk to me again, I'll fucking take legal action, I'm sorry, I can't stand this anymore

The best thing is that while in a relationship with me, he never watched my YouTube videos, or posts

After I left him, he now watches everything, and even reacted to my video once

He says he still loves me, as if I would come back to him

He is a psychopath. I don't think otherwise.

(English isn’t my first language, there will be mistakes)

Sooo I got better due to drawing what I really like (ships, right now Dickie). This helps me drawing everyday (the better I get, the better I can create my own content - for example - there is no apocalypse au with this ship? I can do that:)

Doing it for myself first is what let me fell in love with art.

Plus drawing nsfw helps me a lot with anatomy (I can recommend to think about the pose first and try to make it dynamic or less stiff, then search for a lot of references or do them yourself📷).

I also watch comics artist’ reels and YouTube videos to see their processes or I look for quick tutorials (literally yesterday: how to draw a bulg3??).

My process I think is pretty common:

Idea > super messy sketch

Then I start working on the lines (this can take hours sometimes, it depends on the day).

I lower the opacity and use many layers to make adjustments.

I always make adjustments (during the sketch, the color, the render ecc)

Then flat colors (not exactly flat in the pic, but I usually make shadows on different layers and then I merged them when I’m satisfied, so rn I don’t have the original layer).

Then I start drawing shadows and lights (references) and playing with colors (I need to study proper color theory because right now my method is “uh I like these colors together” + a lot of overlays (I use procreate)

Then I render :) I add effects like sweat, blur, use halftones a lot ecc

I really started getting better after a lot, soo take your time💓

A certain someone gets airdropped into the wrath ring! Specifically next to the house of a certain Prince it seems... Yes I introduced/designed Ipos specifically for this.

So time for a bit of an HC that I came up with during shower time bc when else lmao: After Loo Loo land burned down the dragon/wyvern from the petting zoo flew back to wrath out of instinct (they very much look like they'd be native to there, to me) and eventually regurgitated a very damaged Robofizz; all his covering and fabric parts have been melted off and even the metal is severely damaged as is... well everything else. Dragon is chased off, Rob is found by Ipos.

What will happen to him next? Only time will tell... (aka me when I have time lmao this took so long). Yes Ipos is using his divinatory powers to look at Robofizz's past in the last panel.

Art talk time: It's been so long since I've done either comics or backgrounds, I've been doing mostly sketches and unshaded refs for the past several months... so what do I do but a long page comic with background and hevy ambient lighting. Uuughjghhkhkj the house actually killed me. Anyway I'm very proud of how this came out. Look at it. Look at the sunset colors dammit.
