What’s One Improvement That You’re Proud of? ‘ ‘ ✍️ An Article by @freshlifeeveryday ‘ ‘ Ever Feel Like You’re Not Making “Progress?” ⠀ I do 🙋♂️and quite frequently. It used to be really demotivating to not see any noticeable change in my body either in phases of gaining muscle or losing fat. But overtime, I began to realise that what I saw in the mirror or what the scale says aren’t the bests ways to measure progress in the short term. ⠀ Physical change takes time. Instead of purely focusing on what you see in the mirror or the scale, look at other aspects of your life. ⠀ For example, being more aware of what you’re eating and preparing more of your own meals. It’s a small improvement, but you are now heading in the direction of having better nutrition. In the long run, that effect will compound. ⠀ So focus on the small wins, and remind yourself, daily, of this. Being aware of the smaller improvements will help you stay motivated and help build healthier momentum in your life. ⠀ When we start doing this, we become more positive and it will be easier to stay motivated. ⠀ Share this with a friend or post it on your account! I'm starting a diet! (More info in bio.) BUT it's 100% different than in the past. Before, I use to "diet" year round, or at least that's how it felt. There were always foods, "I shouldn't eat" or avoided. Its been 2 years since I've been on a real diet. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Most "diets" aren't successful because they lack sustainability. They also rarely result in you making long term changes to the way you eat + workout. Instead, you usually come away with new thoughts about what you shouldn't do or shouldn't eat. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I've spent 2 years developing healthy habits, eating whole foods, learning about macros, and meal prepping! I've learned what small changes to make here + there to maintain my weight. Food and exercise now enhances my life instead of controlling it. Because I've spent so much time prioritizing my physical and mental health I feel prepared (in mind + body) for a mini-cut. It'll only be 5 weeks because it’s a sustainable length of time and I can get back to heavy lifting after 🙆♀️.
