Dungeon Meshi actually changed my whole relationship with food. I had already seen food as various types of nutrition (rather than “good” and “bad” food) but this story helped me realize that even stuff I dislike can be made to taste good. I used to hate onions and mushrooms, but all the good stuff about them turns into a delicious sauce when you use them in stir fry! Veggies cooked in grease aren’t robbed of their nutrition! I eat what my body craves and I’ve truly never felt better! I’ve even lost a lot of weight because of it! Many have pondered what sets humans apart from any other creature in the world and I think it’s a good meal.

One of the things that helped us evolve to where we are is indeed cooking!

Might come as a surprise that even tho I'm a Dungeon Meshi fan my nutrition wasn't really fixed by reading it (no good advice Senshis in this head of mine) I've been a picky eater for a while now cause I have texture issues but recently I started cooking more for myself, and honestly? Game changer

There's no point trying to force yourself to enjoy certain foods cause if you don't like it you wont eat it. I hate carrots cause the texture is mushy and the taste is weird and the smell is bad. Know what's not smelly mushy or weird? Carrots on fried rice

There's many ways to cook food, try out things similar to what you know you enjoy if you're someone picky like me. The important thing is to eat a variety of proper food and make it in a way you'll actually eat (Just like Senshi did for Izutsumi instead of forcing her to eat the way he wanted). A vegetable eaten with sauce is more nutritional than a vegetable you don't eat!

I'm no nutritionist but yeah, you'd be surprised at the variety of things you're actually willing to eat when cooked the right way. And congrats on feeling better!

Just adding my usual disclaimer that weight loss/gain isn't an indicator of health in itself, prioritizing eating well and acquiring healthy habits rather than focusing on a certain physical result is key in my experience. Let's all strive to feel good and care for our bodies!

I'm trying to channel my impulses in a healthier, more constructive way, so instead of making 10 lbs of cookies or a too-complicated dessert requiring multiple recipes and days, I made two dozen calzones, plus Jamaican beef patties, and also salmon wellington.

Finished the Royal Centibytes, in both pre- and post-conversion flavors!

I thought court jesters would be a fun change of pace from king/queen or prince/princess- there's a precedent for royals to occasionally be things like heralds and war(?)horses, and I wanted to make a royalgirl who isn't a princess, noblewoman, or queen. I got to learn a little about some historical female court jesters while looking for references, which was cool!

I agonized for a while over whether I should put eyelashes on the one that I arbitrarily assigned 'Royalgirl', but ended up deciding that they look cute.

#i'm happy with these but i feel like the proportions got away from me a bit #i was so focused with getting clear and energetic poses that fit all the limbs in that i kind of lost their lankiness #i think its partially the struggle of working with something i designed in 2018 that doesn't fit well into a 150x150 box #the lenny is also tall and gets away with leaving a lot of negative space in its circle/happy poses while not losing clarity #but its head is less complicated to draw on a small scale; there's less detail to lose #i could try to fuck with more extreme perspectives to get things to fit without sacrificing the proportions. like g1 pokemon sprites #well. that's enough outta me #my art #centibytes #neopets #i'll update my webbed site with them in a bit; i wanna eat lunch

Thinking a bit on the "hows" of GM's flight in both FE16 and Nopes -

Why wasn't Rhea caught in Tru Piss?

In the other routes, Uncle send Baldo'n'Waldi, aka the "reserve troops" as soon as Supreme Leader asks him, Baldo'n'Waldi are too numerous for Rhea to fight and they pin her to the ground, Billy saves her and then gets blasted by Uncle - and then, we learn Rhea's been caught.

In Tru Piss though?

Rhea blasts Billy but... what was Uncle doing? The reserve troops still exist, since they were created way before Billy decided to side with Supreme Leader, so what?

Are we supposed to believe Uncle didn't come this time, thus didn't bring Baldo'n'Waldi and Rhea successfully ran away?

But then, she doesn't transform to fly away : in the non Tru Piss routes, she transforms to power through the Imperial army to buy enough time for everyone to escape.

And yet, both in Tru Piss and Nopes, Rhea ultimately flies away (Nopes remembers that a white beast was sighted), did she buy enough time to make people escape?

Or, without Billy being there to "take care of everyone" should she die, she decided to survive another day, to lead her people to safety and have her revenge?

Also, how the frick Claude and Dimitri in FE16, who were still fighting when Rhea turned in her lizard form, escaped?

They followed some church members and ultimately went "left or right" at a crossroads to return home? While we know, per Emile, that the fighting escalated to neighbouring areas?

Are we supposed to believe Adrestia allowed the crown Prince of Fearghus to return nilly-willy North, without skewering him and later claiming it was an "accident", since they plan to invade Faerghus anyways? Ditto for Claude?

Supreme Leader put a hit on them since the prologue, but then she doesn't use the chaos of this battlefield to have them dead?

I know we're not supposed to think too much about it and "it just happened", but damn if I really wonder how the cast (especially Dimitri and the BL!) managed to get away from Garreg Mach, or how Rhea managed to get rid of the numerous Baldos'n'Waldis in Tru Piss to ultimately end up in Faerghus.

#fodlan nonsense #yep #in SB from Nopes Rhea rewarps but we know she managed to escape with a lot of people #so unless we're supposed to buy that Supreme Leader gaining 2 years to prepare her invasion was actually less prepared than in Houses #it should still be super weird to run away with a crapton of well monastery folk #kids and elders etc #without being caught #As for Tru Piss I wonder if we're not supposed to believe that after blasting Billy Rhea flew away #and yet we know from her character that she ran away with the people living in the monastery aka the same kids and elderly #so what Baldo and Waldi were busy eating the random kitties'n'doggos in the monastery?
