#eastern Hercules beetle

Hi! I hope you’re having a good day! Earlier last year in the Spring (or Summer) I was in a plaza shopping with my best friend and I found this beetle!

idk if you identify them or not all I know is that I think this might be some sort of stag-

it was a big boy! Prolly one of my favorite Animal Crossing coded finds <3

Usually I require a location to ID any bug but this fella is pretty distinct. It's a male eastern Hercules beetle, which is a type of rhinoceros beetle rather than a stag beetle. Stag beetles mostly have big pincers for mandibles rather than horns like rhinoceros beetles.

I met a new friend today! An eastern Hercules beetle!

I have an Eastern Hercules Beetle named Terry. He fell on someone outside a restaurant and my dad saved him. He’s pretty cool.

Yes, it's an eastern Hercules beetle! I'm so glad he was transported to a more safe and appropriate habitat :)

I found this big lad outside a 5 Below with a bunch of cobwebs around his leg. Cleaned it up a little and was holding it as pictured when a guy and his daughter came out of aforementioned 5 Below and saw it. Guy was like oh is that your pet??? And I said No??? I just...found it??? And he was like we live by the river, mind if we relocate it there? Obviously i said go for it, better there than a bigass parking lot. Then the daughter (who is very much a minor and therefore unable to drive) is like ummm i'm not holding that, we need a container so her dad is like go get my coffee cup! So she gets his mug and i pass the lad off and that was the highlight of the day. Very cool to feel how strong it was while it gripped my hand.
