yaaay! how could i ever not do a fake dating au. yin yu & he xuan are taking advantage of a discount & are about to be spotted and confronted by hualian. instead of clearing up the misunderstanding (for a variety of reasons) they end up going on a few more dates- this time with company judging their 'relationship'. as things progress they end up actually falling into some sort of relationship<3 as per usual with this trope.

This time I saved myself some time and made a two-in-one fanart XD

Hungry puppies won't get their tummies full with only dog food and cookies, right? That would be so boring to eat the same things all the time, even more for these two. They love some variety and new tastes!

I headcanon that Zuma absolutely LOVES ice cream and popsicles, especially some fruit flavored ones - though he never refuses that special recipe which is liver flavored too XD As for Rocky, he loooooves sausages, his favorites are also the liver flavored ones.

I love you 12 episode shows I love you 26 episodes shows from the 90s and early 2000s that still somehow bother to have monster of the week and filler, I love you five and three season shows that run exactly how long the story is supposed to be. I hate you Netflix making all shows short and canceling to get out of paying workers. I hate you HBO for selling all your stuff as a tax write off. I hate you reboots. I hate you “but it’s with their kids”. I hate you 24 season long shows that were meant to end in season six.

Spoilers: For Eternal Diva, and slight spoilers for Azran Legacy

Set: AU, set during Eternal Diva 

Warnings: Referenced character death… and Descole isn’t perceived in the best light here— at least, from Melina’s perspective. His actions might be more understandable with context from Azran Legacy

Note: Written for Day 3 of @layton-npc-appreciation-week for Eternal Diva… Descole’s not under-appreciated but Melina and Janice most definitely are.

“You must sing if you want to save them, Melina—“

“Was it true?” Melina interrupts him. 

She‘s not sure where this newfound courage comes from (maybe it’s from Janice), but she stares at Jean Descole as they’re lifted into the air with the stage and the Detragon.

“W-when I was alive,” Melina recalls, “you said you wanted to save me, as you hadn’t been able to save your own daughter. Was any of that true?”

Below her, she hears Luke yelping and the wolves growling. 

If Melina angers Descole, he could easily order the wolves to attack her father and her friends, but she can’t help it. 

She’s angry and she wants to know…

What could drive someone to such lengths— to value an ancient city over human life?

Descole doesn’t deign to answer her.

The stage stops moving. They’re so high up now— high enough for Melina to see the whole island, and inside the castle.

The wolves have her companions surrounded. One has poor Luke pinned to the floor…

Descole turns to the Detragon’s keyboard with a toss of his cape.

“I didn’t think so,” Melina huffs. 

She might as well be poking a dangerous bear right now, but still, she persists. (Maybe she can buy the others some time to escape from the wolves!)

“How could it be true? A loving father would never kidnap o-other people’s daughters— let alone steal their lives—“

“I haven’t stolen anyone’s life,” Descole spits, spinning around to face her again. He seems so incensed that Melina is startled for a moment. Is this sore spot for him?

(Luke had whispered to her, while they were being ‘escorted’ to the dungeon earlier, about the masked man’s deeds in Misthallery…)

“It was your ‘dear father’ who invited those girls to host your memories,” Descole sneers, as if Melina needs reminding. “I simply provided him with the means—“

“You’re right,” Melina agrees. 

The love and the gratitude she feels for her father clashes with the shame in her heart, but the latter conquers all else.

Amelia was lured here, with the hope of winning eternal life for her dying granddad.

Little Nina dreams about returning home to her family.

Janice’s parents don’t even know their daughter has been dormant for a year.

“M-my father must face punishment for what he has done,” Melina says firmly. She glares at Descole. “And so will you.”

Melina has gone too far, this time. 

Descole surges towards her. Terrified, Melina takes a small step back— only to remember how close to the edge she is.

Melina swallows. Surely a drop of this height would kill her. It would kill Janice. 

Descole realises this too.

He grabs her by the wrist. 

Before, when he was discussing the songs of Ambrosia, he had almost been gentle with her— as if he were handling a delicate ‘instrument’…

Now, he grips her arm as if he wants to shatter her bones. 

“Sing A Song of the Sea,” he breathes, “or I will throw your beloved’s body off this machine.”

Melina quivers— all of her courage crumbling away in an instant.

Janice… I’m so sorry… 

Melina doesn’t even care about the kingdom of Ambrosia. Descole can have it! Anything, as long as he lets Janice, Father, and the rest of them go…

“Don’t make me do it,” Descole says through gritted teeth.

“P-please…” Melina is ready to submit to his demands, but then, Janice rises to the surface of her mind and mutters, “You’re a soulless monster—“

Janice, stop! 

Melina clamps her free hand over her mouth. She hates having to stifle Janice, but she’s going to get them— herself— killed!

Descole stares at her, his mouth slightly open. Melina imagines his eyes widening as well. Would he be any less intimidating, if she could see his eyes? 

Much to Melina’s immense relief, Descole releases her and storms back to the Detragon’s keyboard.

He starts to play A Song of the Stars. 

“Sing,” he orders once more, “and I swear, on my daughter’s memory, that I will send your loved ones home, unharmed.”

“A-Alright,” Melina concedes. She has nothing to gain and everything to lose, unless she complies.

You’re doing the right thing, Janice assures her.

Melina nods, takes a deep breath, and begins to sing.

(gaiden and iw spoilers) hiii i finished infinite wealth and I'm kinda insane about it hope you don't mind

i can't stop thinking about how disappointed i am in iws story :( especially with how the jimas they just get thrown under the bus all the time

what bothers me the most is that i was so hopeful after that scene where the four all fought together at the end of gaiden(when daigo says the No Balls line)

after he says that and kiryu has given him a little speech about how he's proud of him, majima and saejima nod at each other, and JUST THAT tells you so much about how he's talked to them about how insecure he feels about dissolving the clan, going into hiding and all that stuff, it made me so hopeful for a proper talk between daigo and kiryu, for kiryu to finally change his ways and actually try to help him out instead of asking for shit without giving anything back all the goddamn time

it's really fucked up how we got that subtle story telling and then just. oh they're fishermen. oh kiryu's asking them to do stuff for him again. oh he got pissed and beat them up and then left without doing ANYTHING again after not seeing them for three years. oh they don't get to come with when kiryu's dying in a fucking helicopter

being a 3jimas fan is suffering we could have had so much man. how did they even get to that village. why is it abandoned. why didn't we get to do anything with them we just left

i'm so tired oh my god

i've ranted Extensively with My Cabinet about how much i'm annoyed and disappointed by IW's story and handling of characters, and how the 3jimas were handled is one of them- tbh mostly daigo since he had more of a presence in the plot but perhaps because of that its awkward to see how the game handled majima and saejima as well

to just focus on daigo, it genuinely was really annoying how we were given SOME semblance of finally getting a scene where daigo breaks it all down for kiryu about how much the past twosome decades have sucked and that kiryu was abysmal for just dumping (AND CONTINUING TO TRY TO DO SO) problems onto daigo and others and maybe JUST MAYBE kiryu gives a right proper apology or realizes he's being selfish (again). like the build up was great, but it just falls flat when kiryu just. LEAVES after the fight after making them all feel like piss about themselves so the jimas pull through at the tower anyway

I have this next page about a third of the way done right now and I’m going to try and get it finished by this weekend. The page following this one might take me a little longer than usual to finish because I’m working on some stuff for grad school and am also about to be out of town for some work trips, so I apologize in advance if I end up taking a while to post it. I don’t bring my tablet with me when I go on trips and I won’t have any time to draw anyway so I probably won’t start working on it until after I get back. I do plan to try and get another chapter of the fanfiction version of the comic posted soon though. Since I’ll have my laptop with me while I’m away I’m planning to do a little writing, so look out for the next chapter coming in the next few weeks. Thank you to everyone who’s reading both the comic and the fanfiction, I hope you’re enjoying them and sorry again for my slow updates!
