Earlobe Reconstruction
Earlobe Reconstruction Surgery:- Earlobe reconstruction is a surgical procedure performed to repair damage or deformities to the earlobe. This procedure is typically performed on individuals who have experienced trauma to the earlobe, or who have had their earlobes stretched or elongated due to the use of large or heavy earrings. The procedure involves removing the damaged or stretched tissue from the earlobe and reshaping it to restore a more natural appearance. In cases where the earlobe has been completely torn, the surgeon may need to stitch the two sides of the tear together before reshaping the earlobe.
Why Do You Need Earlobe Reconstruction Surgery:-
There are several reasons why someone may need Earlobe Reconstruction Surgery, including.
Trauma:- Earlobes can become damaged or torn due to trauma, such as a fall or an accident.
Piercing:- Earlobes that have been pierced repeatedly over time can become stretched or elongated, making them appear unsightly or causing discomfort.
Gauging:- The practice of gauging, or stretching the earlobe with large or heavy earrings, can cause the tissue to become stretched or even tear.
Congenital Deformities:- Some individuals may be born with congenital ear deformities that require surgical correction.
Benefits Of Earlobe Reconstruction Surgery:- Here are the benefits of earlobe reconstruction surgery at the Skin and Cosmetology Centre.
Improved Appearance:- Earlobe reconstruction surgery can help make the earlobe appear more natural and aesthetically appealing, which can help boost self-confidence and self-esteem.
Increased Functionality:- Earlobe reconstruction surgery can restore the function of the earlobe, allowing a person to wear earrings and other accessories without discomfort.
Minimal Scarring:- The incisions made during earlobe reconstruction surgery are usually very small and placed in inconspicuous locations, which can help minimize scarring.
Quick And Relatively Painless:- Earlobe reconstruction surgery is usually a quick and relatively painless procedure that can be performed on an outpatient basis using local anaesthesia.
Low Risk:- Earlobe reconstruction surgery is considered a low-risk procedure, with minimal risk of complications or adverse side effects.
What To Do For Recovery After Treatment:-
After undergoing Earlobe Reconstruction Surgery, it is important to follow your surgeon's post-operative instructions to ensure a smooth and successful recovery. Here are some general guidelines for recovery from Skin And Cosmetology Centre In Dwarka Sector 12.
Keep The Area Clean:- Your surgeon will probably recommend that you regularly clean the area around the incision site to help prevent infection. Follow their instructions for cleaning the area and avoiding getting the earlobe wet for the first few days after surgery.
Take Prescribed Medications:- Your surgeon may prescribe pain relievers and/or antibiotics to help manage pain and reduce the risk of infection. Take these medicines exactly as prescribed.
Rest And Avoid Strenuous Activity:- Rest is important after surgery to help promote healing. Avoid strenuous activity and heavy lifting for at least a week after surgery.
Conclusion:- Earlobe reconstruction surgery is a safe and effective procedure that can help to improve the appearance and function of damaged or stretched earlobes. The surgery can provide many benefits, including improved appearance, enhanced functionality, minimal scarring, quick recovery time, and long-lasting results. However, it's important to consult with a qualified plastic surgeon and follow their post-operative instructions to ensure a successful and smooth recovery.

Prodigal son terror
Li Jing in a fury grabbed his halberd, leapt on his horse and galloped out of the headquarters. He was astonished to see Nezha with his Wind-Fire Wheels and Fire-Tipped Spear. He swore loudly, "You damned beast! You caused us endless suffering before your death, and now that you've been reborn, you're troubling us again!"
"Li Jing! I've returned my flesh and bones to you, and there's no longer any relation between us. Why did you smash my golden idol with your whip and burn down my temple? Today I must take my revenge!"
since I'm on a Nezha streak, might as well do my design for him on the Expedition AU! given that i've chosen to give characters a closer likeness to their region, it's only fitting i do the same with import deities like Guanyin, Subodhi and Nezha.
he's a complicated figure to place in the timeline because he gained popularity as a deity much after, only really arriving in China by the time the Journey would have been set. FSYY was written closer to when JTTW was written down, and he was retroactively inserted on the Zhou Dynasty period.
so deciding what to even do with him is dicey. but then i said fuck it, mythological rules apply here, he was around for the events of FSYY, and it and JTTW are set in the same universe. and for the sake of having some fun, i decided to get funky with his concept.
Nezha had the likeness of his family when he was alive, as described in FSYY, but once he was reborn with a lotus body he gained Indian traits instead. this is to be a nod to his status as an import deity and his origin as Nalakubara, and as the centuries roll by he may present himself to mortals closer to the locals' appearance wise.
as for his looks, i drew inspiration from multiple sources. read more for my rambles <3
his armor is closer to reconstructions of Zhou dynasty-period armor, skipping over extra parts simply because his lotus body is so indestructible, there's no need for a full set;
there are two red Chinese knots with jade beads dangling from the armor ties. they are said to ward off evil spirits, which felt like a good fit for a guy known to banish demons. i picked a six-petal flower pattern, which represents reunion, unity and a bright future;
i included lotus petals and leaves on his outfit as they are common in Beijing Opera outfits for him, and his makeup is a call to it as well;
The pink from the cheeks and eyeshadow seeps into his ear shell, as to convey the way sometimes, you get so angry even your ears blush;
Another thing i referenced from Opera is the two red ribbons on his sidelocks, though I changed them to two bulbs of lotus roots;
Four petals drawn close to his urna as both to make it look like a lotus but also form five petals, which is an auspicious number;
His hair crown is a fancy princely [knot] with a lotus motif and a pearl in the center, as he was the Pearl Spirit before becoming Nezha;
I was going to go with elf-like ears but I thought I could do better, so I went for stretched earlobes instead. you can't see it that well but hopefully the very large golden earrings imply it well enough xvx;
His cheek dimples are common sight on religious images of him and it was a cute touch imo;
Younger Nezha wears a golden robe because of his title as General of the Central Altar in Daoist belief, and the center direction is connected to yellow or gold, and yellow robes are usually meant for emperors and their sons, which is a minor nod to his self-assureness and boldness;
The Cosmic Ring has spiralling grooves on it both to catch blades on it for defense but also as a callback to Opera props;
On his waist is the embroidered ball weapon he was attributed with in earlier myths, he was also meant to have the leopard skin bag Taiyi Zhenren gave him, bjt it was going to be obscured by the text so i omitted it;
A few depictions of him gave him a halo of fire, which was real cool so i added it as well.

A Star is Born!
AO3
@astatia-ghast
After revealing himself as a ghost (as a hero) (as an inhuman monster), Danny had gotten used to people staring at him. Even people who had known him for a long time. Especially people who had known him for a long time. Something something, couldn’t reconcile the person they knew with the person they admired, according to Jazz.
Danny had, honestly, enjoyed the attention at first. It was kind of like with the Yetis! But the thrill of being invited to every party wore thin fast. Now he just ignored it the best he could.
Today, however, was different, and it was really getting on his nerves. Today, there was giggling.
So, he normally didn’t mind giggling, but it was coinciding with an awful lot of pointing and whispering. That, he was less fond of.
Still. What could he do about it? Other than be annoyed. He was going to do that anyway. He got his breakfast (the lunch ladies were staring) and sat down at his usual table to wait for Tucker. Sam was taking a zero period cooking class, and wouldn’t meet up with them until ten minutes before the bell rang.
“Oh my gosh!”
Danny looked up. Tucker was standing a few paces from the cafeteria doorway. His eyes sparkled with emotions Danny had never before seen outside of an anime. He looked delighted.
“Danny, dude!” said Tucker, and now he flung his arms out and to the sides so violently the stylus attached to his PDA went flying and would have been lost to the mysterious and forbidden lands behind the breakfast-line counter if not for Danny’s swift use of telekinesis. “Where did you get those nekomimi? They look so realistic!”
“The what?” asked Danny.
“The cat ears!”
“What cat ears?” asked Danny.
There was a moment of silence as the whispers stopped.
“He doesn’t know,” hissed someone, their voice carrying easily across the cafeteria.
“I need to film this.” There was a mad scramble for phones, PDAs, and in one notable case a full sized TV camera that absolutely should not be on campus.
“Tucker,” said Danny, “are you telling me that there are cat ears on my head right now?”
“I mean, I guess they could be dog or wolf ears, but, yes.”
Danny raised his hands to the sides of his heads and found his earlobe. It felt a bit… weaker, more fragile, than it had before. He traced the sides of his ears up and up and up and…
“Tucker,” said Danny, holding onto the very tips of his ears, “why?”
“I don’t know, man. Didn’t Frostbite say you might get shapeshifting powers?” Tucker shuffled forward. “Maybe you’re thinking too hard about cats. Do you have a tail and is it fuzzy?”
Danny opened his mouth to say no, but then experienced the always-unsettling sensation of his spine reconstructing itself while he was still human. Then, to Danny’s mortification, there was a terrible ripping sound and a fully formed and very fluffy tail unrolled itself.
Across the room, Paulina stood up, a determined expression on her face. “If you do requests, can you make your eyes green and pretty and sparkly and huge and slitted like a cat’s? I’ve always wanted to see what that would be like on a human.”
Danny wasn’t intending to take requests. He didn’t even know what was really going on. But no one had given his power that memo, so it did it anyway.
“Wasn’t there a cat guy ghost alr–?” started Ashley.
“No, we don’t talk about them,” said Paulina. "They don't count."
More importantly for Danny, who also wanted to forget that particular ghost, the cat (boy) was out of the bag.
"What about wings? Can you do wings?"
"Make yourself look older and you can buy beer at–"
"Younger! I want to see what Phantom would have looked like as a baby!"
"Can you do plants? Oak trees? Roses?"
"Dragon! Dragon! Dragon!"
"What about other ghosts? What about blob ghosts?"
"Ooh! Ooh! Can you become a cockroach?"
"No! Don't make him be a cockroach!"
"Metamorphosis, people!" shouted Mr. Lancer. "What is– I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream!"
It was really impressive how Mr. Lancer said that all in a single breath. Well. Shrieked it in a single breath.
"HI, Mr. Lancer," said Danny, miserably, having become a shambling mound, "can I call home?"
"Can you- can you not… turn back?"
There was a sort of slurping sound as Danny's various body parts rearranged themselves.
"I don't have a good handle on it yet," said Danny, trying to affect unconcern.
"Involuntarily transforming into whatever people say?" asked Tucker, voice slightly washed out.
"Something like that, I think."
"Well," started Mr. Lancer.
The cafeteria doors were thrown open and Mrs. Woods strode in. "Where is my latest drama star?" She didn't wait for an answer before shouldering through the crowd and picking Danny up off the floor. "There you are."
"I'm not in drama," said Danny.
"Nonsense! You'll be a natural. Just imagine all the parts you could play! We'll immerse you in the world of drama. Acting. Staging. Theater! You'll have all the drama you can stomach!"
"But I don't want any drama," Danny tried protesting again, but she was already dragging him off. "To the stage."
"Mrs. Woods! I don't think I can stomach anything!"
"That's fine! Many are the great actors who barred from stage fright!"
"It's not stage fright!" It might have been a little stage fright, but becoming a loose heap of assorted body parts via shapeshifting not five minutes ago was playing a much larger part in his reticence. "Mrs. Woods, I can’t–"
"There is no can't in drama, only yes and!"
"Isn't that improv?!" wailed Danny as she carried him through the door.
“Yes, and?”
“My elective is astronomy!”
“And I’m electing to ignore it!”
“Holly!” called Mr. Lancer. “You can’t just kidnap students! The time to change classes is over! We’re halfway through the term, for love of education!”
Like this would be any more okay if it was still the beginning of the term.
“An exception can be made!”
Sometimes, Danny wondered if Mrs. Woods was a ghost. She certainly acted like it, sometimes. Either way, he’d had enough. He phased out of Mrs. Woods’s grip.
“No!” she hollered, even as Danny hid behind a horribly out-of-breath Mr. Lancer. “My star!”
A door down the hallway opened up. “Are you looking for me?” asked Star. “Can it wait? I’m making up a test.”
“It’s not about you,” said Danny.
“Great,” said Star. She eyed Mrs. Woods. “Good luck, or whatever.” She shut the door with a clunk.
“So, uh. Can I go home?” asked Danny.
“Go to the office and ask if your parents can sign you out.”
“I can fly–”
“You’re sick, right?”
“Yeah.”
“You need your parents to sign you out.”
“William,” said Mrs. Woods. “You can’t do this to me! I supported your bid for a field trip to the Shakespeare festival!”
“You did that for your own reasons!”
Danny, wisely, slunk away. He definitely wouldn’t be coming back until he could control his new shapeshifting powers.

peplos kore
basic information
name: peplos kore
date: 540-520 bce
artist: unknown (but potentially the rampin master)
function: votive offering to athene on the acropolis
size: 1.2m (just under life-size)
original, reconstructed, or copy: original in parian marble
subject
this is another kore ! we are not quite sure who she is supposed to depict, but some archaeologists suggest that she depicts a goddess - we won't be able to know the truth until we know what was on her head and in her hands. we can see that she has bore holes in her head and right hand, which suggest that she could have worn a crown or wreath on her head, and potentially have held a bow or shield. here's a link to the gods in colour exhibition, which recreated some of the ideas for how she might have looked !
context
in 540-520 bce, we are approaching the late archaic period - sculptors are moving from highly idealised and geometric forms to a more nuanced and naturalistic representation of people.
composition
the kore's pose is still very much influenced by the egyptian grid-block technique; her pose is largely cylindrical, with the feet close together (and possibly engulfed in the drapery), and her right arm by her side, in a similar position to kouroi of the period. notably, however, her left arm extends forward into the frontal plane, disrupting the symmetry and adding variation into this largely self-contained composition.
the anatomy of the sculpture is obscured by the heavy garment (more information on this later!), in much the same way as the berlin standing goddess. however, we see a marked development in facial and head anatomy when looking at this gorgeous girl!! her ears, while still slightly reminiscent of the volutes in the new york kouros, are more naturally sized and lifelike, and we can see holes in her earlobes where earrings may have been placed. her face is much more naturalistic; instead of the exaggerated cheeks of the berlin standing goddess, she has a gentle and subtle archaic smile, which does succeed in its intention of providing the statue with vitality and expression. we also see more of the form underneath the drapery in the peplos kore - her belt is angled gently as her stomach protrudes slightly, demonstrating a sensitive (carefully considered) approach to the interaction of the clothes with the anatomy underneath. we also see more of the shape of her chest and arms - the latter particularly from behind, where we can see the outline of her arms from underneath the cape.
the kore, as per the archaic tradition, depicts a modestly dressed female figure, without facial wrinkles or signs of aging, yet slightly developed in the anatomical form - there is curvature in the chest to demonstrate the existence of the breasts, although the furthest protruding area of her bust has been knocked off. her name is also a misnomer - despite being called the peplos kore, her garment does not have pins at the shoulders, and so is unlikely to actually be a peplos.
emotion is created in this statue using the archaic smile, but also the eyes and eyebrows - her eyebrows, while still reminiscent of the gull-wings of earlier statues, are arched and delicate, while her eyes are alert and large yet not insectoid; this effect could be heightened by the fact that we can see the remainders of paint used to depict her large irises. the main difference between the expression of the peplos kore and the berlin standing goddess is the subtlety of the expression, and this subtlety is what makes the peplos kore's expression so aesthetically appealing and effective.
the kore, while under life-sized, is largely proportional, making the statue appear more lifelike and naturalistic, despite saving on cost of materials by reducing the amount of marble needed for the sculpture.
the peplos kore, while not wearing a peplos, has been considered to be wearing a cape draped over what is potentially an anatolian long dress. the depiction of these garments is much more simple than the berlin standing goddess - the sculptor has focused more on the human form underneath the garment than the drapery obscuring the anatomy. this is evident in the lack of detail in the sculpture of the drapery - it is largely cylindrical and smooth, which could be argued to increase the sense of stillness in the statue, but could also be argued to detriment the naturalism of the kore. there is detail, however, in the painting of the drapery - the artist has carefully painted a repeating wave pattern across the border of the back of the cape. this demonstrates an extraordinary attention to detail and care in the painting and creation of this statue.
stylistic features
if you've guessed archaic smile, you're right! it's used to add life and vitality, and looks slightly less unsettling in this sculpture than in some others - this is mainly due to her coolly passive expression and the subtlety of her smile.
her left arm, now lost, was made of a separate piece of stone, which has since been lost! this is particularly cool because it demonstrates a marked intent to break through the frontal plane - another interesting example of this is the cretan bull metope from the temple of zeus at olympia (notably over 83-55 years later - 465-457 bce)!!
the peplos kore also demonstrates a common technique in the archaic period - polychromy. we see evidence of this in the red colour of her hair and irises, and also in the dark blue of her belt and the wave pattern on the back of her cape.

Top Reasons to Consider Earlobe Repair in Delhi
Earlobes may seem like a small part of our appearance, yet they play a significant role in enhancing facial aesthetics and personal style. The fleshy, soft portion of the ear, known as the earlobe, is made up of skin and fat tissue, making it prone to stretching, tearing, or even complete splitting due to factors like heavy earrings, aging, or accidents. Fortunately, if you’re struggling with stretched or torn earlobes, modern cosmetic procedures, including earlobe repair, offer effective solutions. Here are some of the top reasons to consider earlobe repair in Delhi.
1. Restore a Natural and Symmetrical Appearance
Stretched or damaged earlobes can affect the overall balance and aesthetic of your face, making you feel self-conscious. Earlobe repair can restore symmetry and create a naturally contoured appearance, allowing your ears to regain their balanced look. This simple cosmetic enhancement can make a significant difference in how you feel about your appearance, especially if you enjoy wearing earrings as part of your personal style.
2. Reclaim Confidence with a Professional and Safe Solution
Earlobe repair in Delhi is performed by skilled professionals with specialized experience in cosmetic procedures. This outpatient procedure typically involves a local anesthetic to numb the area, making it a comfortable and minimally invasive experience. Skilled surgeons use precise techniques to reshape the earlobe, close any visible tears, and reconstruct the tissue for a smooth, natural look. With many highly qualified practitioners available, you can feel confident that you’ll receive professional care and achieve the desired results.
3. Quick Procedure with Minimal Downtime
Earlobe repair is a quick and efficient procedure, often taking only 15 to 30 minutes per earlobe. Patients can return home the same day and resume daily activities with minimal restrictions. Recovery involves following simple aftercare instructions to prevent infections and promote healing, including keeping the area clean and avoiding excessive handling. Most people experience only mild swelling or bruising, which fades in a few days. This quick recovery makes earlobe repair an ideal choice for those with busy lifestyles.
4. Enjoy a Greater Range of Earring Options
A significant benefit of earlobe repair is the ability to wear a wider variety of earrings. Whether your earlobes were damaged by heavy earrings or accidental pulls, a successful repair restores the lobe’s strength and shape, allowing you to comfortably wear your favorite earrings again. With restored earlobes, you won’t be limited to lightweight studs; instead, you can confidently explore different styles and sizes without the risk of further stretching or tearing.
5. Affordable and Accessible Cosmetic Solutions in Delhi
Delhi is known for its high-quality yet affordable cosmetic treatments, making earlobe repair accessible to many. With numerous clinics offering earlobe repair and experienced cosmetic surgeons available, you have the flexibility to choose a reputable provider that fits your budget and expectations. In Delhi, you can benefit from advanced cosmetic technology and skilled professionals at a fraction of the cost compared to other major cities.
6. Safe and Effective Healing Process with Minimal Scarring
Earlobe repair is a safe and low-risk procedure that generally leaves minimal scarring. The surgeon typically makes incisions along the natural contours of the earlobe to minimize visible marks, and the tissue is stitched or glued to ensure it heals naturally. Whether you choose traditional sutured repair or sutureless glue repair, your surgeon will tailor the approach to best suit your needs, ensuring the repaired earlobe blends seamlessly with your natural features.
How to Prevent Further Earlobe Damage
Once your earlobes are repaired, adopting good habits can help prevent future damage. Choose lightweight, hypoallergenic earrings to reduce stress on the earlobes. Avoid tugging on earrings or wearing heavy styles that may stretch the skin. Regular cleaning of the earring holes and occasional earring-free days can also give your earlobes time to recover and maintain elasticity.
Conclusion
Earlobe repair in Delhi offers a safe, affordable, and highly effective solution for anyone looking to restore or enhance the appearance of damaged earlobes. With this simple yet impactful procedure, you can regain a naturally symmetrical look, broaden your earring choices, and boost your self-confidence. If stretched or torn earlobes are affecting your comfort or confidence, consult a skilled cosmetic professional in Delhi today and take the first step toward feeling great about your appearance again.

"Posti changes its name to Posti," declares Helsingin Sanomat's headline in a story detailing the postal service's latest rebranding effort.
Finland's state-owned postal company is introducing its unified Posti brand in Finland, Sweden and the Baltic countries, reports HS.
As a result, Posti is renaming its international subsidiaries and its Finnish logistics company, Transval, to Posti. At the same time, it's phasing out the Itella brand — which is still used in Baltic countries. Finland's postal service, Suomen Posti, changed its name to Itella in 2007, rebranding in 2015 as Posti Group.
Now, ten years later, its various subsidiaries will also be called Posti.
Plastic fertiliser
It turns out that grocery stores don't remove plastic packaging when sorting their expired food into organic waste, resulting in plastic contamination in fertiliser.
Foods wrapped in plastic get crushed with other biomass. While plastic fragments eventually get separated from the mixture, not all of the plastic gets filtered out. Indeed, some of it actually makes its way into fertiliser marketed as environmentally friendly.
"The organic waste from stores arrives at the facilities packaged," Juhani Viljakainen, a recycling expert at Gasum, Maaseudun Tulevaisuus reports.
Retailers told the agricultural paper that they would change their practices regarding packaging removal if they received new guidelines from above.
Plugging a trend
Demand for earlobe repairs is up. According to Iltalehti, people increasingly want to undo the noughties fashion trend of stretching out earlobes to wear large earrings.
The cosmetic procedure is becoming sought-after at private clinics as public healthcare won't foot the costs. People with 'flesh tunnels' often start reconsidering their look when starting a family, according to the paper.
To correct the self-inflicted issue, surgeons remove the drooping skin and reconstruct the earlobe. The cost ranges from a few hundred to a couple of thousand euros.

What is ear lobe repair, and why might someone need it?
Earlobe repair is a cosmetic procedure designed to correct issues with the earlobes that can arise from various causes. At Clinique Internationale, renowned for its expertise in cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries, patients seeking this procedure can expect a solution tailored to their unique needs. With state-of-the-art facilities and experienced professionals, Clinique Internationale offers unparalleled care in both Navi Mumbai and Pune. But what exactly is earlobe repair, and why might someone need it? Let’s delve into the details.
What is Earlobe Repair?
Earlobe repair refers to a series of surgical techniques used to restore the appearance and functionality of the earlobes. The need for this procedure often arises from issues like torn earlobes, stretched piercings, or other forms of trauma. Whether due to accidental tears, excessive stretching from large gauge earrings, or congenital issues, damaged earlobes can significantly impact one’s appearance and self-esteem.
The repair process generally involves:
Assessment and Planning: A thorough evaluation of the earlobe is conducted to determine the extent of damage and the best surgical approach. This assessment is crucial to ensure the most effective repair.
Anesthesia: The procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia, making it relatively comfortable with minimal discomfort for the patient.
Surgical Repair: The damaged or stretched area is surgically corrected. For torn earlobes, this usually involves removing the damaged tissue and carefully stitching the earlobe back together. For stretched piercings, the surgeon might use techniques to reduce the size of the hole or reposition it.
Recovery and Aftercare: Post-operative care involves following specific instructions to ensure proper healing. This includes keeping the area clean, avoiding heavy earrings or other irritants, and attending follow-up appointments.
Why Might Someone Need Earlobe Repair?
There are several reasons why someone might seek earlobe repair:
Accidental Tears: Earlobes can tear due to various accidents, such as catching an earring on clothing or a sudden pull. Such tears can be distressing and impact one’s daily life.
Stretching from Earrings: Over time, wearing large or heavy earrings can stretch the earlobes, causing them to become elongated or even develop large holes. This stretching can affect appearance and comfort.
Congenital Issues: Some individuals are born with naturally elongated or irregular earlobes, which can be corrected for cosmetic reasons.
Trauma or Injury: Any trauma or injury to the earlobe, such as from sports or accidents, might require repair to restore normal function and appearance.
Cosmetic Reasons: Some people may simply want to enhance the look of their earlobes for aesthetic reasons. This could include fixing asymmetrical earlobes or correcting previous piercing placements.
Recovery and Expectations
Recovery from earlobe repair is relatively straightforward. Most patients can resume normal activities within a few days, though it’s important to follow the surgeon’s advice on post-operative care. This includes avoiding any activities that might strain the earlobe or cause irritation.
Patients should expect some swelling and discomfort initially, but these symptoms typically subside within a week or two. The final results of the procedure may take several months to fully manifest as the earlobe heals and settles into its new shape.

When is ear plastic surgery performed?
Ear plastic surgery is a surgical procedure used to reshape the shape, size, and position of the ear. It improves feelings of embarrassment and self-consciousness. This surgery enhances the aesthetic appearance and provides a natural look. Ear deformities occur due to congenital conditions or injuries like severe accidents. It causes mental trauma and affects overall health. At The Microtia Trust, one can get all these ear defects corrected with Dr. Parag Telang. The center is also known for offering the best ear plastic surgery cost.
Read in to learn when ear plastic surgery is performed:
1. To Repair Protruding Ears: Plastic surgery is designed to repair protruding ears. It is a condition where the ear is far from the head and the facial features are imbalanced. This happens due to genetic issues. Skilled surgeons perform this surgery under local anesthesia. They move the protruding ear closer to the head and provide a symmetrical appearance. Children from the age of 5 to adults are eligible for this surgery.
2. To Address Congenital Ear Defects: Congenital ear defects are one of the reasons to perform otoplasty. Some babies are born with an undeveloped or malformed ear, known as microtia or anotia, which is known for the absence of an ear. This procedure adds a new ear or reconstructs the ear, providing an aesthetic look. It also has functional benefits.
3. To Improve Aesthetic Appearance: Otoplasty improves aesthetic appearance. People feel embarrassed and self-conscious due to their ear deformities. It lowers self-confidence and self-esteem. People do not interact with other people. People have difficulty wearing a mask or glasses. This procedure balances the facial features and enhances the confidence level.
4. To Fix Ear Deformities Due to Trauma: Ear reconstruction surgery improves ear deformities due to accidents, burns, or physical injuries. It causes mental trauma and affects the health of individuals. Ear cosmetic surgery also removes, adds, or repairs the cartilage of the ear, providing a symmetrical ear. It improves function and ensures a natural look.
5. To Repair Stretched or Torn Earlobes: Ear lobe repair surgery helps in repairing stretched or torn earlobes. It occurs due to the wearing of heavy earrings and gauges. It also happens due to the accidental tearing of the earlobe. It gets elongated in some cases. This procedure restores the shape of the earlobe, providing natural shape and size.
Ear defects can be genetic or caused by accidents. If one is looking for micro ear repair or otoplasty surgery near me, they can visit The Microtia Trust in Mumbai, a center for the best ear cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries.

Uncovering the Hidden Dangers: Outer Ear Cancer Symptoms and Treatment Options
Author: Dr. Maqsood Ali Khan, ENT Specialist, Bombay Hospital
As we go about our daily lives, it’s easy to take our senses for granted. But what happens when a seemingly minor issue suddenly escalates into a life-altering diagnosis? Outer ear cancer, a rare yet potentially devastating condition, can sneak up on even the most vigilant individuals. As a seasoned ENT specialist at Bombay Hospital, I’ve seen firsthand the importance of recognizing the warning signs and seeking timely treatment. In this article, we’ll delve into the symptoms, causes, and treatment options for outer ear cancer, as well as explore related topics such as sinus issues, throat polyps, and more.
Outer Ear Cancer Symptoms: Don’t Ignore the Warning Signs
Identifying outer ear cancer in its early stages is crucial for effective treatment. Keep an eye out for the following symptoms:
Unusual lumps or growths on the outer ear or ear canal
Persistent pain, itching, or bleeding in the ear
Redness, swelling, or skin thickening around the ear
Difficulty hearing or feeling of fullness in the ear
Discharge or fluid buildup in the ear canal
Cleft earlobe or other unusual ear deformities
Causes of Outer Ear Cancer: What You Need to Know
While the exact causes of outer ear cancer are still being researched, several risk factors have been identified:
Prolonged exposure to UV radiation
Genetic predisposition
Weakened immune system
Previous injuries or trauma to the ear
Certain occupations (e.g., farming, construction)
Treatments for Outer Ear Cancer: A Multidisciplinary Approach
A comprehensive treatment plan for outer ear cancer may involve a combination of the following:
Surgical removal of the tumor or affected tissue
Radiation therapy to target cancerous cells
Chemotherapy to combat aggressive cancer cells
Reconstructive surgery to restore ear function and appearance
Pain management and palliative care to alleviate symptoms
Beyond Outer Ear Cancer: Other ENT-Related Issues
As an ENT specialist, I’ve seen how interconnected our senses are. Here are some related topics and conditions that warrant attention:
Sinus Issues: Nasal partitions, sinusitis, and allergies can lead to chronic congestion, headaches, and facial pain. Consulting a sinus specialist in Mumbai can help diagnose and treat these issues. Throat Polyps: Growth on the vocal cords or surrounding tissue can cause hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, and breathing issues. Throat polyp symptoms often overlap with those of outer ear cancer, emphasizing the importance of accurate diagnosis. Dry Nose and Nasal Issues: Causes of dry nose, including environmental factors and rhinitis, can lead to crusty nasal passages, congestion, and even nosebleeds. Ear Skin Cancer: This type of cancer affects the skin of the outer ear and ear canal, often manifesting as skin lesions or growths. Perichondritis of Pinna: Inflammation of the cartilage and surrounding tissue in the ear can cause pain, swelling, and redness. Broken Nose Symptoms: Trauma to the nose can lead to nasal congestion, bleeding, and deformities, which may require prompt medical attention.
Conclusion:
Outer ear cancer, while rare, demands attention and prompt action. As an ENT specialist at Bombay Hospital, I’ve witnessed the devastating consequences of delayed diagnosis and treatment. By recognizing the symptoms, understanding the causes, and exploring treatment options, we can empower individuals to take control of their health. Don’t hesitate to consult a specialist if you’re experiencing unusual ear symptoms. Your senses are worth it.

Anonymous said: Except it wouldn't explain why your ear didn't heal
"I guess not, but there isn't exactly a lot of real estate in that area to begin with... all an earlobe really is is a small disk of skin and fat that doesn't really do much of anything. So when my earring was ripped out, it took the majority of those tissues with it-- and because of a sudden lack of those resources that it would've needed to reconstruct and heal properly, the wound healed the only way it could've with what was left."

Debunking 6 Common Myths About Ear Reconstruction Surgery
Ear reconstruction surgery, also known as otoplasty or auricular reconstruction, is a surgical procedure designed to reshape, reconstruct, or enhance the appearance of the ears. Like any medical or plastic procedure, there are several myths and misconceptions associated with ear reconstruction surgery. Therefore, it is important to separate facts from fiction. Here are six common myths about ear reconstruction surgery in Kolkata.
Myth: Ear reconstruction surgery is only for cosmetic reasons.
Reality: While some ear reconstruction surgeries are typically performed for cosmetic reasons, such as correcting protruding ears or reshaping earlobes, others are done for functional or reconstructive purposes. However, reconstruction may be necessary after trauma, congenital abnormalities, or to correct deformities caused by specific diseases.
Myth: Otoplasty is only for children.
Reality: While otoplasty is often performed on children to address protruding ears, adults can also undergo ear reconstruction surgery. Adults may seek otoplasty for cosmetic reasons or to correct deformities caused by injury or other factors.
Myth: Otoplasty is a painful and risky procedure.
Reality: Like any surgical procedure, there will be some discomfort associated with otoplasty, but the pain is generally manageable with medication. Besides, risks are relatively low, especially when performed by a qualified and experienced cosmetic surgeon in Kolkata. Complications are rare, and the vast majority of patients experience positive outcomes.
Myth: Otoplasty results look unnatural.
Reality: Skilled plastic surgeons strive to create natural-looking results that enhance the overall appearance of the ears while maintaining proportion and symmetry. The goal is to achieve a harmonious and balanced result that complements the individual's facial features.
Myth: Otoplasty is a one-size-fits-all procedure.
Reality: Ear reconstruction surgery is highly individualized. The surgical approach depends on the specific concerns and goals of the patient, whether it involves correcting protrusion, reshaping, or addressing deformities. A cosmetic surgeon in Kolkata can tailor the procedure to meet the unique needs of each patient.
Myth: Recovery from otoplasty is lengthy and challenging.
Reality: While there will be some initial swelling and discomfort, the recovery from otoplasty is generally not overly long or challenging. Patients are usually able to return to normal activities within a week or two, with careful postoperative care and adherence to the surgeon's instructions.
It is crucial for individuals considering ear reconstruction surgery to consult with a qualified and experienced cosmetic surgeon in Kolkata. This is because a thorough discussion of expectations, potential risks, and the specifics of the procedure can help dispel myths and ensure a well-informed decision.

Plastic Surgery Facial - Tummy Tuck - Rhinoplasty
There are a wide variety of procedures and surgeries that fall under the plastic surgery category. These can be either cosmetic, aesthetic, or reconstructive. Here are some of the most commonly practiced procedures today:
Facial Surgery: Procedures on the face can include blepharoplasty (eyelid reshaping), rhinoplasty (nose job), otoplasty (ear pinning or ear reshaping), and rhytidectomy (facelift). You can also find procedures to augment your chin, repair damage to earlobes, and more.

Breast surgery can be performed to enlarge, replace, or perfect the shape of your breast tissue. Mastopexy (breast lift), breast augmentation (enlargement), breast reduction, and asymmetry breasts correction are all popular plastic surgery procedures.
Lifts and Liposuction: Liposuction involves removing fat from specific areas of the body, like the stomach, thighs, buttocks, and more. Lifts can be done on almost any part of the body, removing excess skin and tightening your skin around the body. The most common places lifts are performed are the face, neck, and stomach. Procedures include abdominoplasty (also known as a tummy tuck), body contouring, and brachioplasty (arm lift).
Plastic surgery procedures can also include cosmetic services like Botox injections or dermal fillers, laser services for hair and tattoo removal, as well as laser therapy for skin conditions, scar reduction, and anti-aging solutions. Even hair treatments and surgical procedures can be considered plastic surgery.
