Def Jam Fight For NY is the sequel to Def Jam Vendetta, a hip hop-influenced 3D-action game released for the Nintendo GameCube, PlayStation 2 and Xbox and is followed by Def Jam: Icon. The game features several rappers, including Lil' Kim, Snoop Dogg, Method Man, Redman, Fat Joe, Joe Budden, Ice-T, Xzibit, N.O.R.E., Ludacris, and Busta Rhymes, Flava Flav, Sean Paul as well as the voices and likeness of other celebrities, such as Henry Rollins, Christopher Judge and Kimora Lee Simmons. DMX, Keith Murray, Christina Milian and Funkmaster Flex were the only artists from the original game that did not appear in the sequel. The game was spun off into a 2006 PlayStation Portable game called Def Jam Fight for NY: The Takeover.
Only the 4th game developed using the NHL licence by Electronics Arts and the first to use both the NHL and NHLPA licences which would see EA-developed NHL games continue to their most recent iteration in NHL 24 which was released in 2023.
For the most part during the past 30 years, these games have been a well-received sports series. Developed by High Score Productions and Electronic Arts Canada, NHL 94 was released across three platforms during 1993/94, releasing for the Sega Genesis, Sega CD and SNES, with releases in the US, Canada, Japan and across Europe.

Def Jam: Fight for NY is a game that I would have made up in a “what if?” scenario on an episode of the podcast, except it’s real and a sequel…
I noticed that your art style is really similar to the character cards (tarot cards) of Dragon Age Inquisition… were you a creative director of those illustrations? Or are you heavily inspired by them?
Lovely Anon, I'm extremely flattered you might think so, but no, I have not worked on any Dragon Age game (but I sure get that a lot haha).
I was commissioned by Bioware to do a portrait of Carver Hawke for a community thing they did on the last Dragon Age Day, alongside other fantastic community artists, but that's it. I'm just a fan 😊
My art style has been heavily influenced by the Dragon Age Inquisition cards (like many other artists! I adore them all!), but more than that, my art style has also been heavily influenced by artists that influenced the style of the DA tarot cards - like Alphonse Mucha, and even more so, Gustav Klimt. I also really enjoy the work of other contemporary artists who are influenced by Klimt too, like Thomas Blackshear II and Svetlin Vassilev! My art style is influenced by other things too though.
I think the DA cards helped unlock some possibilities in terms of style and stylization in my mind, which was tremendously helpful and made me grow as an artist, but I haven't tried to mimic their style in years (love looking at the cards still though 😍).
And to be honest, I don't think my art style looks that similar to DA stuff anymore. Maybe some elements, and some more than others, but that's it. DA cards have a much looser style than I do, and they're WAY more expressive! The artists who created them are MILES ahead of me!
originally from The Battle for Glory: esports, TV, and media I like (and don’t)
Despite large streaming numbers, and upwards of 10 million viewers, esports isn’t considered mainstream in the public’s zeitgeist. There is an obvious market for esports, gaming, and video games in general, yet the idea of esports is foreign to most and is deeply misunderstood by people. I think that this…

Lets be honest greasy justin and the liberal party will get away with using the war measures act on peaceful Canadians. I am sure it will be called “hasty” use and have strong recommendations about its use but still be found fine. I guess the only thing good will be to yet again point out what weak leadership this “man” has given Canada for years. That simply talking to Canadians would have been a start and that they are so weak they had to form a coalition. In the end I am sure fanboys will still see him as a great leader though and this whole circus will have just been another waste of money
