Junior Tricked E. Gadd

So in Super Mario Sunshine Bowser Jr. mentions his magic paint brush was given to him by a strange old man in a white coat. Now one might wonder why would Professor E Gadd give Bowser Jr. such an item? Well there is a hypothesis I have.

I believe Bowser Jr. used his Shadow Mario disguise to trick E Gadd into thinking he was Mario, and thus E Gadd gave him the brush. As someone I mentioned my hypothesis to pointed out, Bowser Jr.'s Shadow Mario disguise may be caused by the specific mask he wears. Cause the Shadowy affect doesn't wear off until he takes it off his face. In addition, if an entire island was fooled into thinking Shadow Mario was the actual Mario, I'm pretty sure the old man could easily get fooled.

I would also like to note that it probably isn't the brush that creates the disguise, because what I mentioned previously. But as well as the fact he shows up in Mario Golf: Advance Tour without it.
