Making the Web Accessible: A web development Guide for Neurodivergent Users
Tumblr media
Web accessibility is a principle that focuses on ensuring that everyone, including people with disabilities or specific neurological conditions, can access, understand, and interact with the web seamlessly. This entails the creation of websites, tools, and technologies designed and developed so that people with disabilities or neurological differences can use them without impediment. Web accessibility goes beyond simply viewing web content—it also encompasses understanding, navigating, interacting with, and contributing to the web.
Web accessibility is particularly crucial for neurodivergent users—individuals whose neurological development and functioning are atypical. For these users, standard web design can often lead to a frustrating, difficult, and exclusionary experience. This underscores the importance of designing with neurodiversity in mind: when web accessibility is prioritized, it creates a more inclusive digital environment that respects the diversity of all its users, regardless of their neurological makeup.
The term “neurodiversity” refers to the concept that there is a natural variation in how human brains function and process information. This perspective sees conditions such as Autism, ADHD, and Dyslexia not as deficits, but rather as different and equally valid ways of experiencing the world. Neurodivergent individuals often have unique strengths and perspectives, but they may also face specific challenges when it comes to navigating and interacting with traditionally designed web content.
The Science Behind Neurodiversity and Web Accessibility
Understanding Neurodivergence: Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, etc.
Neurodivergent conditions like Autism, ADHD, and Dyslexia represent different ways the human brain can function and process information. Autistic individuals, for instance, might have heightened sensory perception and may be easily overwhelmed by busy layouts or auto-playing multimedia. Those with ADHD may struggle with long, unbroken blocks of text or distractions on the page. Dyslexic individuals could face challenges with certain fonts or lack of text spacing. Understanding these neurodivergences is critical to creating a web that is truly accessible and inclusive.
The Impact of Web Design on Neurodivergent Users
Web design can have a significant impact on the experience of neurodivergent users. Websites heavy on visual content, animations, or complex navigation structures can be difficult for many neurodivergent individuals to process. Likewise, poor color contrast, the use of specific typefaces, and dense information presentation can present significant hurdles. An inclusive web design, therefore, requires a keen understanding of how neurodivergent users interact with web content and the potential barriers they might face.
Neurodivergent Experiences on the Web
Several case studies highlight the challenges neurodivergent users face on the web and underscore the importance of web accessibility. For instance, an autistic individual may find a website with auto-playing videos and complex navigation structure overwhelming, leading to sensory overload. Similarly, a dyslexic user may find it hard to read content on a website that uses intricate fonts with minimal spacing and poor color contrast. Through these experiences, it becomes clear that accessible design is not an optional extra, but an essential element of the web development process. Read More

August 2023 Reading Wrap-Up
August 2023 Reading Wrap-Up
Total books read: 6
Total pages read: 2,394
Days read: X/31
Average star rating: 4.25/5
Challenge Prompts Filled: 11 in July; 85 total. Popsugar: 4(28)/40.   Romanceopoly: 2 (24)/36. CRAD: 1 (8)/12. BTBL: 4(25)/52
Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Listen. By now we all know how much I love this one. I just wanted an excuse to read it again before the movie came out. Five stars before, five stars now, five stars always.
Prompts filled: Popsugar– A book becoming a TV series or movie in 2023; BTBL – Five word title
The Bookshop of Second Chances by Jackie Fraser
⭐⭐⭐(¾)
This was adorable! It took a few chapters to ramp up, and I almost didn’t keep going, but I’m so glad I did. I love books about books, so this caught my eye … I think at the dollar store? It’s a gentle, cute read, some perfect escapism for unbearably hot summer days. Once the story picked up, I got to sit back and enjoy friends-to-crushes-to-lovers, with a hearty side of women’s lit as the MC reinvents herself post-divorce. Very cute, but I don’t know that it’s something I would pick up and read again.
Prompts filled: BTBL – Standalone; CRAD – The same genre as last month
Bear With Me Now by Katie Shepard
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I LOVED this one, and I'm already excited to reread it again later. I bought a copy at my local indie back on Indie Bookstore Day, but only just now got around to reading it. I laughed, I cried, I got some strange looks from my coworkers for the laughing and the crying. Right out of the gate, when Teagan gets tricked into rehab (he’s not an addict), I was invested in the relationship between him and his sister. Then he meets a bear, then he meets Darcy and we’re off to the races. They’ve got their traumas, they’ve got their walls, and they’re figuring them out together. There’s something about a love story where nobody needs to be “fixed” to be loved that just hits so perfectly for me, and this absolutely fit the bill.
Prompts filled: BTBL– All the nature vibes
Summer Reading by Jenn McKinlay
⭐⭐⭐⭐(¼)
Again, books about books. Also, books about robotics (tangentially. Anyone looking for books about CIMs and RIOs and such will not find that here. But the MC’s younger brother is into robotics, so I was interested). The first thing I noticed about this book was right there in the forward: it’s designed to be dyslexia-friendly. The author worked with her publisher to use a font that’s harder to flip around, wider leading and bold type instead of italics. The bold text took some getting used to, but I love that McKinlay took such care in putting her story out there. The MC is dyslexic, which made this the perfect story for this sort of accessibility. It touches on mental illness, family drama, friendships, sibling relationships and everything in between. Also, the MC is a chef, which makes this a book about books, robotics AND food. All in all, an excellent book presented in an excellent way.
Prompts filled: Romanceopoly – The Gym/Longest book on your TBR; Popsugar – Longest book on your TBR
Chef’s Kiss by TJ Alexander
⭐⭐⭐(½)
I grabbed this from the library based on the vibes of the cover alone (it’s a great cover, honestly. I know how the adage goes, but the fact of the matter is that covers sell stories). What I got was rivals(?) to lovers, workplace stress, and a well-handled discussion of sexuality and gender. The book handled the complex nuances of those conversations with grace and class, but the rest of the plot fell flat in places. There were places I was ready to reach through the pages and shake the MC silly for staying with her terrible workplace, or refusing to have one (1) conversation about her feelings. Solid romance, but it’s hard to stay invested in that plot when I’m so frustrated with one of the characters invovled.
Prompts filled: Romanceopoly – Rainbow Row/Read an LGBTQ+ romance; Popsugar – A book with a queer lead
Dog Days: A Year in the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile by Dave Ihlenfeld
⭐⭐⭐⭐
My non-fic selection for the month, this one has been on my shelf for ages. I love a good memoir, and this was unlike anything I’ve read before. There was a startling about of parallel between the author and myself – J-school graduates who didn’t want a future in journalism – except he went on to spend a year driving an Oscar Mayer Wienermobile across America. I LOVE a good tourist gimmick ((thanks to this book, I’ve looked to see if the renamed Frankmobile is going to be anywhere near me)), so this was a perfect fit for me. Ihlenfeld wove his personal story together with the history of Oscar Mayer and the Wienermobile, which left me with a better understanding of how and why it worked as a marketing schtick, and how taking unexpected opportunities can change peoples’ lives.
Prompts filled: Popsugar – A book with alliteration in the title; BTBL – No romance
DNF: Triptych - Karin Slaughter

dick gumshoe for the ask game perhaps? also i hope you have a nice day!!
hi puffle! i hope you have a nice day too! ngl i was surprised that you didn’t ask for the obvious (given your brand) but gumshoe is a welcome surprise :)
sexuality headcanon: i can see one of two options for him. one, he’s straight but one of those borderline embarrassingly enthusiastic allies, goes to pride and scares off creeps/homophobes. two, he’s pan and it took him at least 20 years to realize that wasn’t how everyone is and that gender is actually a big factor in attraction for a lot of people
gender headcanon: that post that’s like ‘cis guy wearing a pin that says ‘ask me about my pronouns’ and when you ask he very excitedly tells you they’re he/him’. that’s gumshoe
a ship i have with said character: i don’t have any big ships with him tbh. gumworth can be cute but i’m super picky about it so it has to be done a very certain way. he’s cute with maggey too but i don’t have strong feelings about it
a brotp i have with said character: his relationships with kay and maya are genuinely so wholesome. he’s a weirdgirl collector too but i feel like he sees them more as equals/friends rather than protégés/kids yknow? also shoutout to his friendship with phoenix i feel like no one ever talks about them and they have a great dynamic
a notp i have with said character: can’t think of one off the top of my head
a random headcanon: he has severe dyslexia and dysgraphia which make reading and writing really hard for him. when edgeworth found out, he did some research on dyslexia friendly fonts and started printing his documents in those. he claimed it was just so gumshoe and any other dyslexic employees would be able to work more efficiently, but gumshoe likes to think he did it out of care/gratitude towards him (and he might be right but of course miles would never admit that)
general opinion over said character: i would genuinely die for him. i miss him every day capcom where’s my boy
(tagging gumshoe’s biggest fan @thepageofheart look it’s our boy)

Title: Blackout
Summary: When he opens the book, the spine cracks faintly. He smiles. He reads out loud, it’s easier to get through when the words roll off his tongue instead of bouncing about in his head. “Dorothy lived in the great Kansas prairies-” thunder rolls loudly outside. The lights flicker. Then, the room is cast into darkness.
Notes: just something short and sweet! I decided to post it directly here rather than ao3
Mr. Benedict’s house is old and creaky, a breeze blows through imperceptible gaps and the heating is broken, which makes the third floor warm at all times. It’s warm now, as SQ curls up in his bed. He props a book up in his lap, it had been a birthday gift from his uncle. The Wizard of Oz. The cover depicted a young girl standing at the edge of a road of yellow brick, a little dog stands beside her. On the other side of the road is a Lion, a Scarecrow, and a Tinman with an axe resting on his shoulder. SQ turns the knob on the bedside lamp and casts the room in a soft, orange glow. It’s late out, a storm blows outside. There’s no rain, oddly enough. A dry thunderstorm, that’s what Sticky had said. Every now and then thunder rolls through and startles him. He’s trying to ignore it. He opens the book. The print, mercifully, is a decent size. And the font is ‘dyslexia friendly’ as his uncle had put it. That had been a recent, and mildly unsurprising discovery. It’s an old, well-loved book, presumably his uncle had either owned it previously or bought it second hand. His father would have bought a newer book, something untouched by the outside world. He likes this more. It feels personal. Loving. Love is imbued in every little thing about his uncle, and everything he does for his family. When he opens the book, the spine cracks faintly. He smiles. He reads out loud, it’s easier to get through when the words roll off his tongue instead of bouncing about in his head.
“Dorothy lived in the great Kansas prairies-” thunder rolls loudly outside. The lights flicker. Then, the room is cast into darkness. SQ’s blood rushes to his ears, a whimper rises and dies in his throat. He blinks hard, trying to adjust to the sudden darkness. He can hear the sound of other kids yelling out in the darkness for the adults and Sticky yelping two doors down. SQ squints, moonlight is pouring into the room now, his eyes are adjusting. He closes the book and sets it aside, then he kicks his legs over the side of the bed and slides down to the floor. His toes dig into the carpet, the fabric is soft and textured in a way that doesn’t make his teeth hurt like other carpet does. He pads out of the room into the hall. It’s just as dark in here as it is in his room. A beam of light comes down the hall and flashes into his eyes. He groans and holds his arm up to shield himself.
“Whoops, sorry,” Kate says, then directs the flashlight down. The light illuminates the hallway in a ghostly way. Kate’s face is lit from below, creating sharp shadows along the soft edges of her face. She’s smiling, seemingly undisturbed by the sudden darkness. She darts forward and grabs his hand, excited about something. She’s always excited about something. “Hey, come check this out.” she leads him down the dark hallway, flashlight beam directing them forward to the end of the hall, down the stairs, and finally to the backdoor. Outside in the backyard, it seems everyone is gathered. The adults and kids are all gathered outside around the firepit that sits near the back porch. Kate leads him outside and down the steps. Then, she climbs into the tree and hauls him up after her. The bark hurts his feet a bit, but he bears it because Kate seems rather excited. They both settle on a sturdy branch. She points over the fence. It takes SQ a moment to realize what she was pointing at. Then, he realizes the skyline of Stonetown is an entirely dark. There isn’t a single streetlight on or window illuminated by a yellow glow. It’s a blackout. SQ’s eyes widen slightly.
“Woah…” He can see Kate grinning in the corner of his eye. She’s kicking her legs and bouncing slightly. SQ crosses his legs and looks out over the skyline. He can hear car horns honking in the distance.
“This is much nicer than the last blackout I was in.”
“The last blackout?”
“Yeah, not long before the prison. We lost Constance and had to go looking for her.”
SQ’s stomach turns slightly. Right, they had been looking for Constance, hoping to find her before his father’s men did. Kate hummed and started climbing down from the tree. “C’mon,” she said “Milligan’s gonna get a fire started, we’re gonna make s’mores!”
“S’mores?”
“Yeah, haven’t you ever had one?” SQ shakes his head and Kate’s mouth drops open. She looks shocked, as though he’d just committed some grievous wrong. “Well we gotta fix that! Come on, come on!” She grabs his hand and starts hauling him down from the tree. He goes gladly. The grass under his feet is cool and already becoming wet with dew. Mid to late September is his favourite time of year. Cold in the morning, hot in the afternoon, and dropping temperatures again in the evening. He shivers slightly against the breeze. He’s still shivering when he sits in front of the now burning fire. He feels a soft fabric against his shoulder and looks away from the light of the fire as Milligan sits beside him. Milligan's jacket is draped around his shoulders.
He says nothing, just smiles. SQ smiles back. The jacket is warm around him, like a blanket fresh from the dryer. He slips his arms through the sleeves. It’s way too big on him. It makes him feels small, but not small in the shameful way his father made him feel. It feels more like everything had been contained in one small space, including himself. It feels safe. He likes it.
“Kate told me you’ve never had a s’more.” Milligan says, looking over at him. He has a good-natured smile on his face, “she sounded horrified at the thought.”
“It seems there’s a lot of stuff I haven’t experienced that she has.” SQ says, it comes out in a half mumble. He hears Milligan let out a laugh that’s more of an exhale of breath and a hum of amusement. SQ turns to get a good look at him. He’s still in a coat, which means that he had purposefully brought one out for SQ. Milligan is sitting on one of the little logs-turned-chairs next to him, resting his arms on his legs, hands laced together.
“Well,” he says after a moment “you can hardly hold that against yourself, Kate travelled around quite a bit and experienced a lot during her years in the circus.” He supposes that’s fair. But it’s not like this something new and exciting to the others. It’s just a s’more. Something most children are familiar with and have had on several occasions. He can’t help a small pang of loss. Loss for what, he isn’t sure. Perhaps for the child he could have been had he not grown up on the island. It hit him, sometimes, that he would never get those years back. His father had stolen from him what could have been a wonderful childhood, and no matter how he wished he to do so, he could not go back in time and fix things. He was stuck in this time, there was no way to go back. Time’s arrow stops for no one. The best he could hope for was to find solace in the family and friends he had in the present. He pulls the jacket tighter around himself, trying to fight off those thoughts before they have the chance to overwhelm him. He takes a deep breath and exhales.
“I guess so,” he says at last. He watches the fire. It flickers, breaks apart and comes together again. It crackles softly, embers rise into the air and fall down into the grass, making him mildly anxious. He’s heard the embers are part of the charm of a summer fire. He doesn’t quite see it, but the fire is nice and warm. Something is held out in front of him, drawing his attention away from the fire. After a moment he realizes it’s a long, metal stick with two prongs at one end, and a rubber handle on the other. He turns to look at who’s holding it out and sees Kate, giving him her usual excited grin.
“Wanna watch me set a marshmallow on fire?” she asks. He can’t possibly say no. He nods and she grabs the bag of marshmallows sitting beside her. She pierces two of the marshmallows onto the prongs at the end of the metal stick, then she holds them over the fire. At first, he doesn’t see it. But then there’s a small, subtle change amongst the flames surrounding the marshmallows, and when Kate pulls them away, they’re on fire. She holds it much too close for comfort. She lets the marshmallows burn for a moment before she takes a deep breath and blows them out. SQ blinks as she looks back to him, grinning. “Pretty cool, huh?” He nods, for lack of anything else to say.
She turns away from him and he can see her putting something together, though he isn’t sure what it is. He gets his answer a moment later when she turns back, and holds something out to him. A marshmallow and a small piece of chocolate are squished between two graham crackers. He tilts his head at it. “It’s a s’more,” she says “try it! It’s good!” He takes it, trying to avoid marshmallow dripping onto his shirt, and takes a bite. When he bites into it the marshmallow spills out and onto his fingers, making them sticky. But he finds he doesn’t care. Because Kate was right, it’s good. Really good. His eyes widen slightly, he smiles at her. “Right?” She says, somehow understanding what he’s trying to convey without any words. He decides he likes s’mores.

Edit: idk if anyone will comeback and read this update, but I did write this fic! Please check it out if you like this headcanons post.
I was trying to write a lukercy one shot, but it just isn't working out, so fuck it, back to my roots, lets do a 'things i've been thinking about this ship doing but theres not enough for me to write a full shot about' post. There is one slight Spicy bit towards the end, but it's not enough to tag (a little back ground; this is all for an au, all you need to know is that Percy is 20 and Luke is 26. But if you want to know a bit more, its under the cut):
-Percy nervously tucking himself up under Luke's arm while they are watching tv. Luke has his arm up on the back of the couch and he was waiting for Percy to press up against his side the whole night. Luke loves when Percy does this, wraps his arm around Percy's shoulders and runs his fingers through Percy's hair until Percy falls asleep like that.
-Luke's 'love language' is gifts, which is good, cause Percy is very good at going 'this clover/flower/leaf/rock/little thing is very nice, I shall give it to Luke'. And Luke keeps all the little things Percy brings him. He has a journal for all the leaves and tiny flowers and clovers Percy brings him, and he puts what date he gave them to him on the page.
-They are the kind of couple who naturally drift toward each other. They don't really do pda, but if they are sitting together they will lean toward each other. The most pda thing they will do is if they are standing somewhere for a long time Percy will put his arm around Luke's waist, and in turn Luke will put his arm around Percy's shoulder.
-Since Luke is only a few inches taller, Percy loves to wrap his arms around Luke's waist and press his face against Luke's neck. Luke's making coffee in the morning while they get ready for work? Percy is right there asking why he does this when he has to go to work to make coffee soon against his neck. Luke's turn to do the dishes? Yeah, Percy is supposed to be drying them, but Luke can just put them on the counter and Percy will dry and put them away when Luke goes to watch the news after he's done with the dishes. Luke's getting ready for work in the morning? Percy is right behind him, talking about college things he has to do that day.
-Sleepy mornings on the weekend where they climb back in bed, and let the world go by. Luke reading out loud to Percy (he has a kindle. and kindle's have font for dyslexia). Percy puts little braids in Luke's hair. The only time they get up is for food or to use the bathroom.
-Luke will absolutely cover Percy in kisses. He kisses all over Percy'a face and it makes Percy so happy, makes him break out in giggles and makes him smile that smile that makes Luke feel like he just took a breath of fresh air after a thunderstorm. He'll press kisses to Percy's shoulders, and Percy will sigh and lean back against him, humming contentedly. He presses kiss to the dimples at the base of Percy's spine, and feels Percy shudder and shift his hips.
-Percy going on adhd meds and getting stuff done and actually being able to concentrate and him just falling on to Luke trying not to cry but ending up sobbing cause hes been suffering for years because of how camp has them convinced they can't go on meds because it'll 'slow their senses in battle'. Luke just pulling them both down to floor right where and rocking Percy gently, letting him get it all out. Luke letting himself get mad for a few minutes, even though they are both trying so hard to move on from the fucked up things they went through because of absent parents who think they are owed any part of their lives. Luke doesn't go on meds permanently cause he doesn't like how they make him feel, but he did try them at one point before Percy showed up in his life. He was the first person to even suggest Percy try them.
And that's most of what I've got for now.
Percy is in college and working part time *somewhere* and Luke works at a coffee shop near where Percy goes to school, which is how they meet back up. Luke is alive *cause I said so*. Percy is done with gods stuff, and for the most part they leave him alone. They eventually become roommates, and then they start dating after a few months of pinning and yearning. This isnt very long, I know, but it was just a lot to put at the start of the post.

Making Your Content Accessible
Introduction
On social media, being able to read and understand posts is essential. However, some sacrifice comprehension and efficiency for their aesthetic, which only hurts their audience. Content accessibility benefits people with disabilities most, but everyone and anyone can make use of it!
This is a noncomprehensive list of things you can do to make your account accessible. Feel free to add on in the comments!
Backgrounds
When you’re making a post, the text and the background must be 1.) different colors, 2.) contrasting, and 3.) not too bright or dark.
That should be pretty self-explanatory, but I’m going to elaborate on number 3. Don’t use pure white or too-bright colors in general for your backgrounds because it creates eye strain.
Maybe you have images as your backgrounds, which gives you a bit more to consider. One way to lessen eye strain is to put a layer between the background and the text. Another thing you can do is choose images that are not crowded or busy.
Text
Some people use fancy, cursive script for their post titles, which looks cool, but it can be hard to read. This doesn’t mean you have to remove it, though. Instead, use alternative text, which describes something that is inaccessible or difficult to read/see. In this case, you duplicate the post title in a more readable font on the cover slide. Good fonts for dyslexia include Open Dyslexic, Comic Sans, and most sans serif fonts.
Alt text should also be present if the original text has been manipulated in some way or has had effects added. For example, the titles of my posts are curved, so I add alt text.
Save cursive fonts for your post titles and headings. Cursive body fonts may sound great in theory, but in reality they are highly inefficient and make people people less likely to read through the entire post.
Also, if you type long paragraphs, you may want to separate it into smaller bulletpoints. People are more likely to skim (or just skip over) long sections of text. Make sure there’s enough space between the lines as well--reading crowded text can give some people headaches.
Alignment is also a factor in readable text. Align body text to the left, rather than centering or justifying it, because it lets people follow the lines of the text more easily. You can align your titles however you want because anything goes for them.
Screen Readers
Visually impaired people, dyslexic people, or people who get migraines may use screen readers, which read the text of a post to them.
One of the first things you’ll have to sacrifice here is aesthetic font. I know, I know, it looks cool, but screen readers don’t pick up on it, not to mention the more stylistic it is, the harder it is to read.
Hashtags are also difficult for screen readers to understand, because it might read the entire hashtag as one word. Instead, capitalize letters where a new word starts. For example: #WritersOfInstagram.
Another thing you can do is provide alt text for your entire post. Instagram lets you do this in the post but they only allow 100 characters, so if your posts run long you should just type them in the comments.
Descriptions
If you’re posting an image, for example, a meme, add an image description, or ID. When you’re writing an ID, include all details, even ones that might seem obvious. Consider color, position, shape, expression, etc.
For example: “ID: A blonde, curly-haired girl dressed in an orange T-shirt and denim shorts sits on a mossy log surrounded by pine trees. Her head is bent in concentration as she cleans a bronze knife with a gray rag.”
Closed Captioning
As a hard-of-hearing person, I really appreciate closed captioning on videos that require me to understand what someone is saying.
When typing out your captions, abbreviate closed captioning to “CC:” and then write your text after it. For example: “CC: These are my favorite tropes.”
Another thing to remember is not to censor swear words or leave out anything. Besides being annoying to people with hearing loss, it can also be patronizing.
In a video, keep closed captioning away from anything that might block it. Also, make sure the text is large enough to easily read. If you don’t want to type out what you’re saying, automatic captioning is available on Instagram, although like any automatic closed captioning, it can be unreliable.

The things you need to start the self publishing thing
This is a day late, doesn’t even follow the how to do the thing format, and my dyslexia is running rampant today so ther’s probably six billion typos and mispellings but fuck it let’s goooooooo
Shit you’ll need before you can even get to the shit you need:
A complete manuscript
I’m talking multiple drafts here people. Beta readers, self edits, tears, blood sacrifice, the works. Unfortunately, this isn’t 1920, we cannot publish our first drafts.
I mean, you can but its not gonna go well.
Money
Like. Lots of money. This shit is Expensive.
A Plan
Don’t be like me. Don’t just suddenly go “alright let’s publish” one day
Actually lay out a timeline for yourself
Expect delays
So Many Delays
Plan for publishing at least like six months in advance you will thank yourself later I promise
Ingramspark vs. Createspace or whatever they call it now. They changed the name the other day I think
I went for ingramspark
Because
Fuck amazon
Ingramspark is More Professional
Everyone else also thinks “fuck amazon”
You’ll be able to sell your book more places this way.
This one is a p personal decison so look this shit up yourself.
One you’ve got that shit, you can get this other shit
First things first, hire an editor. There are a shit ton of different editors out there, I’m not listing them all, mostly because I don’t remember them all and a lot of them overlap anyway. The majority of places will let you pick an editing ‘package’ that’ll combine several types. Go with that.
Alright I’ll list a couple kinds of editor. Just the ones I can remember tho, I’m not looking them up again.
Content Editor-looks over the big picture, the story itself. Fuck that grammar bullshit, this is about lookign for plot holes and character inconsistencies and shit. Basically a beta on steroids, I love these dudes.
Line Editor-this is what everyone thinks of when they say editor. They do the grammar shit.
Sensitivity reader-make sure you’re not making a dick of yourself, good thing to have.
Learn how to Format the book
This one you actually can do yourself, its not like...unattainably difficult, especially if you can get ahold of Microsoft Word.
The basics are:
Book Size
8.5x5.5 is pretty much the most common
And that’s the interior pages, the cover itself tends to add a lil bit onto that and so if you go measure a bunch of books you’re gonna get 9x6 or something
Font
12 pt. Times New Roman is the standard
Margins.
I think 1 inch is standard?
Listen, this shit gets complicated and its been like nine months since I did it, I’ll link you some things at the end so you can get a better idea.
 Header and Footer
Pro tip: Center all of this shit, that way you don’t have to fuck around with aligning it right on the corners of the page.
Author name on one page, book name on the other
You can do evens or odds, I don’t think there’s a standard
Page number on every page
EXCEPT: the first page of a new chapter
Just to make things more difficult, nothing goes on those pages. Because fuck you.
Widows and Orphans
Yeah I know “what the fuck does that mean???”
You know how sometimes you’ll have this one sentence that’s just hogging a whole page? Yeah those
Or those times that a sentence goes onto the next page all on its own
I’m not sure which of those are widows and which ones are orphans tbh. I mean... I could probably guess but nothing is simple you know?
There’s some places that’ll tell you to do this manually by changing the line spacing and/or text size of each page?
Don’t fuckign do that
That’s ludicrous.
There’s literally a button for it on microsoft word
This is one of those things where the easy solution is actually the one you’re supposed to use.
Oh yeah, indents
No you can’t just press tab
That would be too easy.
And nothing can be easy, remember?
0.3/0.5 is the standard I think.
Also make sure everything is left aligned.
And the line spacing is usually double spaced? I think?
I want to say there was a certain number of lines per page that was standard and you’re supposed to fiddle around until you get that. So enjoy.

A Cover
Unless you’re like A Professional don’t do this yourself its way more complicated than you’d think
Have a Solid Idea of what you want your cover to look like. Just shrugging and going “idk man” isn’t going to help anyone.
This isn’t just the fun artsy shit either
Figure out where you’re putting the blurb and your author picture and your author bio, which, btw, you gotta write too. I’ll get there.
Author Bio
Jenna Morecci did a whole video on this so def look that up cause that’s pretty much the best info I’ve got for you.
But:
3-5 sentences
Written in third person
Yes its weird to write about yourself this way, just go with it.
Embrace your inner “whatever fictional character talks in third person” and go with it
One sentence on your experience with writing whatever this is
One sentence about yourself/shit you like
And one on something else, I’m not watching the whole video over for this. Just go watch Jenna, you’ll love her.
I don’t think I’ve ever read an author bio and I don’t know anyone else who does either but I guess somebody must so we all have to suffer.
A Copyright thing
Like. Register your book with the copy right office so that if someone tries to steal it you can tell them to stop.
Yes this costs money too. Becasue fuck you I guess.
This sounds really intimidating but honestly you just fill out paperwork and while that stresses me personally out beyond rationality its not really that bad.
Don’t forget to add the copyright page in your book too, there’s a thing on the format for it, lemme look
Here ya go:
https://blog.reedsy.com/copyright-page/
An ISBN
Most people upon reading this immeditaely went “what the fuck is an ISBN?”
If you didn’t then good job you’re more prepared than I was. Good on you.
An ISBN is like an identifying number for your book.
Actually, its an identifying number for specifically this format of your book. If you’re planning on doing a paperback and an ebook or a hardcover or an audiobook or whatever, you need to get an ISBN for Every Format of it
You can buy ISBNs ((in the US at least, I don’t know about other countries sorry)) on Bowker.com
Why did they name it that?
I don’t know
You would think that they’d maybe pick a more...I don’t know, relevant name for their site?
Listen, a fact of publishing a book is that everyone involved has conspired to make is as frustrating as humanly possible. You’re just going to have to accept that.
Why is their whole site mascot a bird?
Also don’t know. They’re having a good time with it I guess.
Maybe something to do with Bowker sounding like bough?
Also a barcode!
Yeah, didn’t think you’d have to buy that did you?
Neither did I but here we are
Actually you don’t have to buy one if you use ingramspark, they’ll give you one when you use their cover template thing apparently.
Know what price you want to sell the book for
Even in self publishing, the place you’re going through is gonna want a piece of the pie. Enjoy that.
Ingramspark has a calculator for that actually, its p cool
You can stick the price in the barcode
Idk if that relevant but that’s a thing you can do?
uhh…..I’m pretty sure I’m forgetting something….
You might want to get an author website set up?
You should probably have that before now but if youre doing this Chaos Style (™) like I did then you probably want it up before you publish so you can put it on the book somewhere.
People you need to hire:
Editor
Cover Designer
Possibly a formatting person if you decide fuck that shit
 Which. Understandable
Shit you need to get a handle on
Formatting
 If you decide fuck yourself
 Which. Understandable
Copyright
Price
ISBN
OH yeah.
Marketing Junk
You honeslty need to have a handle on this shit Waaaaaaayyyy the fuck in the future. If you’re only thinking about it like...now its probably not great.
The Chaos Method is not generally a good approach
See: Ascendant’s release was essentially a flop and even tho people who read the book love the book I’m still struggling to get people to read the book
Psst read the book its great I promise
Your book release is like. The Biggest Chance for marketing shit
Get on top of that junk
Giveaways
Posts about it
Just
Everything all the time everywhere
You definitely need a schedule for this
Like seriously
Make a plan.
That’s pretty much it I think. I mean...look in other places too because like I said earlier, its been months since I did this and when I did do it it was the Chaos Method of me just going “I’m gonna publish now” and Doing That.
Get a plan, believe in yourself. Get a publishing mentor
Someone who’s done this shit before and can give you some encouragement and direction.
It probably shouldn’t be me but I guess if you need help I’m game to do what I can.
Also be prepared to like. Crash, mentally, So Hard. Its terrible. See my older post for all the shitty shit about publishing this way.

So I keep telling myself I’m not gonna talk about this anymore but it’s late and I’m salty and I figure this would be a good learning opportunity for everyone anyway so whatever.
I keep seeing people commenting on how the Delpad Week prompt list getting stolen and vandalized doesn’t count as art theft because I guess technically I didn’t “draw” anything while making it. And I feel like this is coming down to people just not understanding the work that goes into graphic design? (I mean I assume some of it is just people wanting to make excuses for doing something horrible but w/e I had my panic attacks I’m over it.) So since we do live in an age where people still devalue graphic design and other computer-based art forms I thought would break down all of the steps that I took when designing the prompt list, as well as the icons and banners for Delpad Week.
(And as a quick disclaimer there were probably easier ways to do some of the things I’m gonna list but I am still learning and I had never really used Clip Studio Paint before. I am an amateur, be patient with me.)
Step One - Picking Fonts!
Now this one might have come down to me just being picky, but I had a pretty clear idea in my head of what I wanted the “logo” to look like so after opening Clip and determining that NONE of the default fonts came anywhere close to what I was looking for I went to dafont.com and spent like...god I want to say close to an hour browsing the free fonts until I found a 5-10 options I liked.
I then had to extract and install all of the files onto my pc and make sure they worked, which is easy, but still took time.
Then I typed out what I wanted the logo to say using all of the different fonts to see what they looked like and what they looked like next to each other. See it’s a good idea to compliment fancy serif fonts with simple sans serif ones so I needed to pick a fancy one for the “Delpad Week” text and then a simple one for the prompts and dates and such.
Step Two - COLORS!
After I picked the two fonts I wanted to use I had to pick out the colors for the poster and the text. I took the colors for the “Delpad Week” logo itself from a pic of the Sun Chaser/Cloud Slayer I found, both the usual red and then the darker shadow. Which, once again, there HAS to be an easier way to do this but I typed the words out twice in both colors and painstakingly layered them over each other in just the right way to get the “drop shadow” effect I wanted.
Then I picked a nice light black for the rest of the text that I think I took from the line art on a screen cap I found? Either way it looked better than true black. And took time to find.
And of course I needed to find a good blue for the background which took a bit cuz it needed to match everything else.
Step Three - Sizing!
I had to look up all of the different recommended photo dimensions for tumblr and twitter icons, headers, posts, ect to make sure the damn things wouldn’t look wonky once I uploaded them.
Oh and since Clip is weird I did actually have to do that typing/layering thing on EACH NEW PICTURE I made. Which making sure they all looked the same sure was FUCKING HARD and took hours!
And my friend took the time to make the transparent Della and LP for the banners and I had to resize and center them on each pic. And I had to find and size/position the clouds and transparent Sun Chaser/Cloud Slayer too.
Step 4 - Putting It All Together!
Imo this one is the hardest since Clip doesn’t have alignment tools and even if it did sometimes due to fonts and art and such being the way they are true center doesn’t actually LOOK centered to the human eye so there’s a lot of fiddling around with the text and pics to make it look as close as possible to center which starts to kinda numb your mind after a while. Lots of taking breaks and coming back to it to make sure it looked okay.
And of course typing all of the prompts out and making sure the fonts actually do look okay and everything is spelled right and spaced correctly. I have dyslexia, I double check spelling, sue me.
So once you finally think that everything looks okay you get to go upload it to different sites to make sure the icons and such don’t look blurry or get cropped weird and then inevitably go back and move everything around again or in some cases remake them entirely(the deviantART icon took like two re-makes to get right) when they do. Shit takes time, yo.
That might not seem like a lot but let me stress that I made the prompt list poster, the tumblr icon and banner, the twitter icon and banner, the deviantART club icon, and the other banners for things like updates and such. Which all and all took the better part of TWO FUCKING DAYS.
And that’s not even mentioning the time it took to find a good tumblr theme and set it up and put together the DA club and the twitter account, as well as documenting all of the prompt suggestions and making sure I picked ones that were vague enough to allow for creativity as well as represented what everyone wanted, plus deciding on/writing out all of the rules including the ones for different sites. All of which, aside from some help here and there from friends, I did by myself. For free.
I’m not complaining. I am having a blast running Delpad Week, and making all of this was frustrating but fun. I love graphic design, I wanted to do my best, hell I even got input from my godfather who is a graphic designer on some of the banners just to make sure everything was as high a quality as it could be. And you know what? I was really, really proud of that prompt list. I have been stuck at home disabled for about a year now in awful pain most of the time and only just getting back into drawing and graphic design and I was super happy with how everything came out. I wanted people to see it, I wanted to give Delpad fans a beautiful blog and prompt list to look at after everything we have been through. And not to toot my own horn but I think I delivered.
So considering all of that you can see why having someone steal the banner, deface it with horrible and triggering content was so horribly upsetting to me. Aside from how defacing something a queer woman worked hard on with words like “burning a pride flag” is abhorrent and drove me to tears and panic attacks, how would you guys feel if someone took something you worked on for two days and shat all over it for a cheap joke? Especially when the only thing you did wrong was want to give a good, cute ship some attention.
Graphic Design is an art. Taking someone’s unique design, vandalizing it, and then reposting it IS ART THEFT. Just because it took you 10 minutes to open the pic up, color over the original text and use a crappy font to add in your own prompts doesn’t mean making the thing in the first place was that easy. (And again, I’m not complaining about the time and the work. I’m having fun. I love graphic design. If I didn’t want to do this I wouldn’t have.)
But anyway, like I said, I’m trying to not let it bother me anymore. People have apologized and that’s good. But hopefully this breakdown can help you guys appreciate the work that goes into graphic design and be a bit more courteous to the people who do that work, especially for free.

Hello! my sister is 13 and she has ADD and dislexia she’s been diagnosed ever since she was like 4, she goes to a special school and everything but now that she is in secondary school she has a lot of trouble reading, and doing her homework, and it breaks my heart because she gets very stressed and sometimes even cries and I don’t know how to help her, do you have any tips on how to keep up with homework and reading with ADD and dislexia without having a breakdown?
this ask is literally the sweetest thing ever, you are an amazing sibling and ally for your sister!! <3
i’m not an expert so i would check with other resources as well, i can really only share what helps me and what has helped people i know.  i also don’t have dyslexia, so i’ll share what i’ve found but definitely look into websites and blogs for dyslexia too!
Homework
does your sister have a planner?  i was terrible about using mine, but even just having it helped a lot.  my adhd goblin brain would convince me that i wouldn’t need to write anything down but i did, and it was much less stressful to have that checklist of assignments already created than to try and remember homework from memory.  and if she doesn’t, taking her to the store to pick one out that she likes might be a good way to get her excited and wanting to use it!  even if she isn’t perfect at using it, have some assignments written down is better than none.
productive breaks.  homework can be mentally exhausting so a lot of adhd/add folks need breaks- but it can be hard to come back into a productive mindset after.  it helped me to have “productive breaks”, where instead of turning on the computer or TV i would switch my attention to a different task that needed to be done.  i was still in a productive mindset but bc i was folding laundry instead of doing math, i still got that break i needed.  also snacks really help!  keep snacks on hand.
try to make homework a game.  not always possible, esp the higher up in school you get, but making homework a competition somehow would help me to be more excited about getting it done.  be mindful of making it a speed competition though, ‘cause then people tend to skim over important stuff they should actually be paying attention to.
Reading
take notes after reading the passage.  for me, taking notes would bog down my reading so much.  i’d have trouble distinguishing the important facts from the unimportant ones, and deeply reading into each sentence would make reading take FOREVER.  i would read the passage first (or a chunk of it!  if it’s long, break it down), try to summarize it without looking back at the text, and then go back and add any important details i had missed.  it cut down my reading time by a LOT.
a question to ask is, is all of the assigned reading needed?  i don’t want to encourage anyone not to do their homework, but... sometimes classes just assign reading as busy work.  this is something your sister will have to determine, and it may end up that all of the reading is important and will be tested on.  but you know all those kids who just read sparknotes/cliffnotes instead of the actual passage?  secret fact: you can do that for a lot of classes.  and it’s okay, you’re not a terrible student for doing that.  i would do that for some readings and then check in with a friend before class to see if there was anything important i missed.  work smarter, not harder.
Dyslexia and Homework/Reading
again!  can’t stress enough that i don’t have dyslexia, so if any friends have this and want to comment with your own tips, that would be very appreciated.  i just did a cursory search on what might help.
see if your sister would like it if someone read with her.  having company there can make some people feel supported, and they can serve as a help if your sister has any questions.
is any of her reading online?  there’s an open dyslexic font for chrome that can be downloaded for free here.  there’s a great description on its home page that explains how the font works and why it can be helpful for some readers.
another thing that might help is blocking pages/paragraphs she isn’t immediately reading.  this is both for dyslexia and for adhd/add (i used to do this a lot).  having a bunch of text in front of you can be intimidating and stressful, so i would use computer paper or whatever was on hand to cover the pages i wasn’t currently reading, or to cover the page i was on except for the paragraph i was reading.  having only a bit of text to look at was much less stressful than the endless words i knew i would have to get to eventually, and i was much less likely to lose my place if i got distracted.
-
again, these are just some things that have helped me!  they might help your sister, but something else might work better too.  my main piece of advice is to approach her in a way that makes it clear you want to help, but in a way that doesn’t tell her way to do or how to feel.  sometimes people wanting to help can accidentally make the adhd/dyslexic person feel worse by telling them what they should do, when in reality only the person themselves is going to know what will help.
but the tone of this ask and the intent behind it is very kind, you’re already such a great sibling and going about this in a very nice way.  i wish you luck!! <3

1, 2, 3, 9, 14, 15, 17, 25, 27, 28, 29, 35 for the honesty meme? (I want to hear your take on these!)
Tumblr media
Honesty Meme | Accepting
1. What would prevent you from following someone?
Mostly it depends on if I want to interact with their muse or not. There are some where I just really don’t like the muse. Other things that stop me are when there are maybe two or three blogs that are so exclusive with each other that you feel like you can’t interact with them. Sometimes if people post constantly post A LOT I can get overwhelmed, and that might stop me on the odd occasion. And, of course, if someone is just generally being a dick.
2. Are aesthetics important to you? If they are, why?
Yes! I’m a graphic designer, and I’ve always loved things looking pretty. So I love making a blog look as gorgeous as possible. And I love finding aesthetic images that give you an idea of what the muse is like.
Though, when it comes to text, the aesthetic is also important in the way of, I like to be as straight forward as possible. Since I’m ADHD and dyslexic, sometimes reading can just truly be a nightmare. So when things are in super tiny, scripty font, constantly changing from one word to the next with words broken up by symbols that shouldn’t be there, my brain just goes ‘NOPE! I ain’t doing this shit!’
3. What current rp trend do you hate?
Honestly, not a fan of some of the formatting. When people make it vary constantly my brain hates it. And I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. ‘I hat/e peo.ple do/ing t.his thi/ng no.w!’ It’s just… it’s hard for me to read, and that makes me not want to try.
9. What is your opinion on exclusivity? Do you practice it? Why / why not?
No and no! I’m honestly not a fan of it. I understand why people do it, especially if they are a very popular blog. But it’s not for me. I kinda get put off from interacting with blogs that are mutually exclusive, because I can’t always find an opening to interact with them. And I think that if you limit who you RP with, you’re missing out on a lot of opportunities. I also love interacting with multiple of the same muse. Most people bring their own spin to a muse, and I love seeing how things play out with each different mun.
14. Do you think rp has had a positive or negative effect on your life or you as a person?
I mean, I’d say fairly neutral. It’s something fun that I enjoy doing, and I love getting to interact with so many people. But on the flip side, it does take a lot of energy and also tends to take away from my novel and fic writing. I struggle to find balance in a lot of things, so I tend to find I kind of go hardcore on RP, then burn out and take a year or two hiatus and get sad because most of the people I know are gone. (Except @cfmanymuses. She’s my forever girl, and as my IRL best friend, I know she’ll tell me if she ever switches platforms).
15. How has rp changed you personally?
I mean, I honestly don’t know. I’d say that it’s helped improve my writing over the years and given me a new, unique way of looking at things when it comes to writing because of the format it’s usually done it. It’s also helped me develop a few of my OCs from what they started as, and I LOVE working with my characters.
17. Have you ever sent a message to yourself on anon? Why?
Admittedly, I have sent myself memes on anon that I REALLY wanted to do when no one sends them in before. I haven’t done this in a while, but there are some that have been tempting. I wanna answer those questions, dude!
25. Are you open to duplicates? Why / why not?
Hell yeah! Bring on the duplicates!!! I mean, MOST of my muses are OC, so duplicates aren’t going to happen there. But all of my canon muses are from fantasy or sci-fi and are super easy to make bump into each other via alturnate universes. Or heck, they could be twin sisters! I love seeing how other people write the same muses as me, because everyone’s take on muses is unique and I feel like I’m missing out on getting to work with that if you deny duplicates.
27. Do you follow people even if they don’t follow you back?
Yeah, I mean, why not. On the odd occasion, someone might follow me back a month after I’ve followed them or something. The only time I’d unfollow someone for not following me back is if they’re mutually exclusive and I keep accidentally liking their starter calls and such. I have mutual tracker, but sometimes my brain jumps ahead and goes ‘Yeah! I wanna RP with them’. And then I feel like a twat for accidentally breaking their rules and have to apologise. So if someone is adherently mutuals only I might unfollow to prevent making an ass of myself repeatedly.
Plus, I had a really bad experience with this once where despite instantly apologising and saying I wouldn’t do it again, someone continued to harras me to the point I had to block them and ended up taking a year-long hiatus.
28. Do you read people’s rules before following or interacting?
I generally try to. Some, I will follow the moment I see their blog, then have to go back and find their blog to read their rules. And sometimes the ADHD/dyslexia is being a butt and basically makes my brain scream at me if I try to read anything longer than a sentence, so I’ll kinda skim over the rules as best I can.
But I try to read peoples rules as much as I possibly can, especially since it gives me a good view of their stance on certain things. Sometimes I forget if I’ve read them or not and go back and do it again.
29. What is your opinion on “reblog karma” and do you practice it?
Yep! I’ve only recently come back to this blog, and reblog karma was pretty big last time I was on. I’m trying to get back into the habit of the lastest trend of reblogging from the source, but sometimes I mess up. When I do that, I try my hardest to make sure I send something.
35. Do you read other people’s threads or do you only read your own?
Mostly no. As I said, sometimes reading is not a thing my brain wants to do. I’ll usually glance or skim other threads, but unless something really grabs my attention, I won’t put too much effort into reading through others threads. The shorter the thread, the more likely I am to read it. (So, basically, if I wasn’t invested in my own writing, I’d probably skip it because I very rarely write short replies).

Pet peeves?
Goodness, where to start...
Firstly: I get turned off very quickly by rp memes that consist of long-ass lists. I prefer memes that are shorter and more focused. If I have to scroll through at least 50 bullet points just to reach the end, it’s not happening for me.
Secondly: One-liners are not something I can easily work with unless it’s silly dash crack or something. I’d want there to at least be 2 sentences in your starter prompt, something that gives me enough context and detail as to what’s going on. This, combined with the previous peeve, is why you likely won’t ever see me post rp prompt memes involving quotes.
Thirdly: Some blogs make things a bit too hard to read, whether it’s due to how words are formatted in replies or how the words’ font/size are presented in the blog theme. I don’t have dyslexia or anything like that, but others who follow me might. If I reblog something that goes too off-the-wall with fancy-schmancy fonts or Zalgo text or whatever, that’s gonna be a problem for more than just me (Side note: If my blogs or Google Docs have that issue, please let me know cuz I might not be aware of it).
There’s probably more than this tbh, but that’s all I can think of rn.

I feel like your Gay Wife either has a surprisingly poor grip on the English language or a unfathomably close relationship with it...
*Gay Wife here*
It’s both.
Ihave dyslexia, which tangles up the wires in my head connected to thelanguage center of my brain. I am a bit sensitive about the subject, I willadmit, and it is something I am working on to become a better person. I do tendto get very (let’s call it) animated about it.
A commonmisconception is that dyslexia is concentrated on spelling, but that isn’t exactlythe extent of it. It effects speech most noticeably in day-to-day interactions. Considering the context of this blog, you are only seeing the speech partof dyslexia. When it comes to speech, it is common to have halting sentences, fragmented thoughts that jump from subject to subject, and (for me especially)a habit of substituting the ‘correct’ word for a different word, or similar(but ultimately incorrect) word, or just mispronounced garble. For example, inthis post, I meant to say “Egypt” and instead said “Belgium.” Whythat happened, who the hell can say? My brain went “a country” and jumpedto a completely different part of the world.
I am a vivacious reader despite the fact that reading doesmake me dizzy and give me headaches. It also can take me a long time to getthrough a book depending on the difficulty of the text, the font, or the subjectmatter. The words do seem to sort of… move around? It is easier with a rulerand a cup of coffee, honestly. I also watch a lot of movies and TV, so when aword/phrase/idiom comes by for the first time, I catalogue that shit andtuck away for later use. See, dyslexics can have a huge, robust vocabulary thanks to the mere fact that language is their own personal white whale in life (I knowthere is a study source link out there but I can’t find it, and it is stillearly for me). Yeah, think of it like trophy hunting. I’ve got a wall of mountedheads of words with more than three vowels (fucking vowels).
So when it comes to my relationship with language, it isn’t poor. It is a labor of love (…and hate). I have to take an extra step when translating a thought, and I have to thinkabout what I am saying more than others, or else it goes all wibbly. Whatyou’re getting with this blog is examples of how my brain likes to play wordassociation without letting me in on the game. And sometimes I say things like‘romant’ without realizing it. Because when I am tired and at home, it is reallyhard to take that extra step and translate a thought into language.
The thing is, since the reading/spelling ability is such a partof society’s metric to determine intelligence (especially on the internet where all interactionsare telescoped by communication through text), many people with dyslexia grow upbelieving they are dumb as bricks. I sure as hell know that I did. I’m still sensitiveabout my handwriting, and every misspelled word is like a knife to my heart. Butin that same vein, I help my high school aged co-worker with her Englishhomework all the time because she hasnever had issues with reading or language, and I have. I’ve exercised thatmuscle more than her out of necessity. She’s an AP student and I had to dropout of college. Neither of us are smart or stupid, we just have different strengthseither out of talent or necessity.
So I used to visit this corner store every other day, and thewoman behind the counter had dyslexia. She had to be in her late 50s and stillbelieved that she was just plain stupid. But I told her all about how this ‘””””disability’”””can cause these brilliant explosions of creativity. Interacting with languagewith a tilt towards the spatial can bring forth some spectacular visions in writingand yes, speaking ability. Loads of authors anddirectors have dyslexia. The moral of the story is that it was raining thatday, and she gave me an umbrella for free for making her feel better. I will always hold close to my heart the memory of seeing herperk up at the mere suggestion that she was actually improved by dyslexia. I made a promise to myself that day to tell othersthat no matter how they speak or spell or read, they are not in any way stupid.
And hey, free umbrella.

Sinhala Fonts – Weekly Roundup
Sinhala Fonts – Weekly Roundup
A Brea third-grader is demonstrating to the world that nothing, not so much as a learning inability that makes it hard for her to peruse and compose, can prevent her from spreading euphoria through the composed word. Kiara Smith, an understudy at Mariposa Elementary in the Brea Olinda Unified School District, as of late composed six books that show examples fellowship, confidence, and when to say “Please accept my apologies.” Each story, made and composed by Kiara, goes through a cycle that permits the youthful writer to plan everything from the textual styles to the outlines and surprisingly the foundation of each page. “Kiara is a brilliant illustration of creating difficulties into learning open doors,” said Mariposa chief Rick Torres.
“Her accounts surely give pleasure into our school as well as the whole local area around us.” A Fox 11 news group as of late featured Kiara’s rousing story, announcing that in spite of the fact that she is a brilliant an effervescent third-grader, her dyslexia conclusion has made it difficult for her to fit in. “Once in a while I got a handle on left and frightened that I was unable to be any understanding level,” Kiara told Good Day LA journalist Brooke Thomas. What’s more when difficulties identified with the pandemic made it much more hard to learn, Kiara’s family settled to enable her with help in distributing her accounts. Kiara’s mom made the Kiwi Cares Collections site to highlight her little girl’s work, yet to respect want to reward others. All of the returns from her books are given to an alternate foundation of Kiara’s decision. Visit our website for more details about Sinhala Fonts.
