Tsuna's guardians don't come in temperance and I think it'd please Ryohei enormously.

The most they can do is try to act chill. But really, Hibari? Mr. I'll-Kill-Them-All? Rokudo? That man's constantly sacrificing himself and telling Tsuna he is not an ally just to act like an ally. Lambo? Do I even have to say anything about Lambo? Ryohei himself? Mr. Danger-Excites-Me? Chrome is the closest thing we have to a completely chill person and hello she's dying through most of the manga. I already talked about Goukudera and Yamamoto but omg all it really takes is a check of their first interactions with Tsuna.

Absolutely zero chill on that regard, exactly why Reborn and battle Tsuna need all the chill ever.

Goukudera and Tsuna's friendship is so special to me because Goukudera is like YOU SACRIFICED YOUR LIFE FOR MINE I'D ANYTHING FOR YOU I'D GO ANYTHING FOR YOU DIE FOR YOU AND KILL FOR YOU I'D— and Tsuna is visibly shaking in anxiety and stress saying that living and being just his friend is more than enough please thank you please Goukudera I'm begging you please

You really need to add Yamamoto there to control them both and calm them down for the sake of Tsuna's health and for the safety of Goukudera. Except from those great times when Yamamoto joins Goukudera in whatever insany shit Reborn is planning now and you remember Yamamoto was the one who almost suicide out of passion like, he is objectively not better than Goukudera, he's just more chill about it but equally insane.

A collection of flame information

I decided to compile and categorize flame information that is both said in canon, not said directly in canon but is observable and then throw in a couple of theories of my own. In this post I will be separating them by type. It's gonna be fucking long so here's a read more. I will not be bringing up actual flame abilities here, but rather the concept as a whole.

First, the Canon ones, which I'll define as what is outright stated:

Every person has flames.

How flames manifest are determined by the wavelength they are.

Every person has different strengths of each wavelength, your strongest wavelength is your primary flame If you have multiple decently strong wavelengths, you are capable of manifesting more than one flame type, but it will take training and effort to manifest.

Flames are not determined by anything special other than these things.

Though the Vongola has rules on how they expect certain flame users to act as guardians, no other organization with flames does however.

Having enough dying will can prevent death, and should you have enough vengeance in your heart during this time, all types of flame can become black and become the flame of night and keep you alive indefinitely, as long as you have a body.

Hyper Dying Will Mode is separate to rings, and works differently, however can clear the body to be capable of manifesting flames through removing internal barriers, the previous mode Dying Will Mode, however only removed external, thus it did not manifest flames with the exception of the one on the head. However, it is not as strong as a person with a ring's dying will flames, but is on par with someone who can naturally bring out their dying will flame(eg. Xanxus).

Dying will mode minus state, is by temporarily turning your dying will into a state that is the opposite for seconds at a time hence the flickering look of it. During the Minus state, with practice you can make it possible to absorb and freeze other people's dying will attacks.

Rings, come in several varieties for each flame. These are the flames they will magnify the best and be able to work with.

Rings also come in grades, outside of certain ring sets(vongola, mare, etc) which have no limits due to materials used, A rank is the highest rank, and the lowest is E rank. These latter case of rings, have a limit on how much flame they can magnify at a time, and will break if put over said limit.

Rings can convert flames that previously were not manifested(eg. Yamamoto not being able to create flames without a ring), and when taken off, they will not be able to create flame, it does not react in any special way with flame users already capable of manifesting their flames or flame users that are in dying will mode.

Box weapons each serve a utility purpose to them, some only able to do one thing, others able to do many depending on how they were built. A majority of supplementary abilities come from box weapons manipulating how flames work.(Eg. Sky petrification only happens due to the box weapons, bester and natsu.) Each box weapon has rules of use and how it manipulates the flame put into it.

Sky flames can open any box weapon, however through this use, the box weapon is inherently weaker than someone of the same power and proper flame type using it.

Mammon chains(and their ring cover variant), when wrapped around devices that would help produce flame(eg. pacifiers rings), hide them from detection.

Next, are observational, things that follow a clear through line in canon and do not change, but are only noticeable through observation:

First starting with the manifestation of flames.

Being able to manifest flames without assistance of some form is an extreme rarity.

With the exception of Xanxus and some arcobaleno(as seen in rainbow arc when they lose their pacifiers), all other flame users require some intervention to do so. This comes in several forms, rings, dying will pills/bullets, pacifiers, Mukuro's eye, etc.

All this will end up with a flow chart that looks like this:

Though box weapons manipulate flames to a specific ruleset, it seems possible that one can use the abilities of a box weapon without a box weapon. Though training is required and seems to only show as rudimentary as possible(Eg. TYL Squalo creating a barrier with flame with only his ring, which TYL Yam had to use a box weapon for), special abilities of the box weapons seem to be unable to be re-creatable by simple flame.

Flames of wrath, within canon are only theorized to be a hybrid of storm and sky flames, however, through observation of how this works, it does in fact work like how one would expect this combination to work

As Hibari uses multiple rings to put in a box weapon before they shatter, it seems that using multiple rings can in fact spread out the strain on the rings long enough to be used, however it seems they will shatter quickly after use like this, thus is not an effective long period strategy, and rather is a way to short term raise how much flame you can actually output at once. (only works if you're already breaking rings though)

The crystals produced by zero point inherently feed and grow on others dying will. It is not produced by your own, but by absorbing and manipulating others dying will to create the crystals themselves.

(for clarity: I'm saying that the crystals produced at any point are only produced because the target has flames that can be manipulated to create crystals and aren't produced by the person using the technique, like the crystals aren't FROM tsuna, the crystals always grow from his target, so it's a manipulation technique of someone's own flame, to pull apart and neutralize it and from that point it neutralizes itself.

In addition to humans which produced flame, it works on box weapons because they're made of flame, it works on the moscas in the future because they have little batteries of flame, it works on ghost because it's made of flame, it works in the onsen because there's MANY TARGETS WITH POWERFUL FLAMES which is why it ends up so fucking big)

Mammon chains(and their ring cover variant), when wrapped around devices that would help produce flame(eg. pacifiers rings), prevent the device from producing flames all together. While not explicitly stated, the chains are always taken off or the covers open in order to use flames. With one exception being mammon. However in Rainbow arc, Mammon is capable of using a flame without a device(pacifier), so it can be observed that this is probably what they're using instead.

Flames, due to being energy wave forms, are detectable through machinery and their output can also be detected. This is observed at many points even being a main point getting to choice, however, it being the wave output that is detected is more observational so I put it here.

NOW for what is straight up theory on my end, where there is varying amount of support for what i'm saying here, and is much more extrapolation on my end, so they are more... Ideas than anything substancial.

Earth flames are not real flames: This is more because of how they only manifested by the owners of the rings. To me, it is simply more likely, that the shimon rings, are capable of drawing the same wave lengths that sky flames use, but in an alternate way to produce a different set of flame, in the same way that Box weapons and vongola gear can produce much more distinct abilities, however far more extreme and in a set of rings. The additional odd parasitoid looks of the rings also give off that feel to me.

Flame hybrids are produced when a sky flame wavelength is equal to another wavelength: Pretty much what it says on the tin, I theorize flames like the flames of wrath are produced when a person's primary flame is sky, with another flame is equal strength to their sky flame. Then, the Harmonization factor of sky flame, melds with what would be another strong flame to create a new primary flame type. This does theoretically mean there should be more flame hybrids, however this combination must be incredibly rare to have a stable version.

Methods through the Vongola Tenants were probably chosen: Other groups are chosen through other means, such as the arcobaleno being chosen through simple sheer power. However it is noted that the vongola rules are not followed by the other groups at all. The Vongola statements are very specific, but looking through it simply, they had chosen these rules for what would be the best user for each flame. A storm flame who is willing to be violent in battle when the main ability of a storm flame is in fact one that's destructive in nature. An unwillingness to be, would make using the flame not nearly as useful. These are the personalities they believe are capable of using the flames the best. It also, happens to be the personalities that the original group showed, which means they likely determined that to keep the vongola clear on how they should act in the future, they should follow these tenants. It did not work out how they desired.

It is possible to change flames: Through external means, if one could manipulate the wavelength of their primary flame, they would be able to create flames of a different type. This would require much more experimental technology than what currently exists in khr.

So I know you talked about Tsuna and his guardians in Soul Society, but what about the other way around? How would Ichigo interact with Vongola and who would his guardians be?

(I kind of like the idea of Dying Will Flames 'burning' reishi. Using it as a fuel source like wood in a fire. Which means Hollows don't often bother Flame Actives since they tend to register as nulls due to all their spiritual power being used up)

Hmmmmmm............This is fun thought. Honestly I feel like Ichigo would just SENSE a child in need of a big brother in Bullshit Shonen Protag Messes all on his own and somehow manifest from the shadows to take Tsuna under his wing tbh.

A baby Sky with wonky Flames due to a seal would just BLARE OUT into the universe and Ichigo would KNOW the second he got near Namimori. I do love the idea of DWF burning reishi. Also love Hollows avoiding it because the "null" feeling is also followed by rumors of them EATING hollows despite being human. (I imagine a null is a giant sign for hollows and others, because everyone should have SOME reishi but they just...appear to not. Now....Ichigo's Elements....Hm. Sky is of course, as we know, Ichigo. Storm: Grimmjow just feels right to me. Hes attached now. Sun: Nel my beloved. Lightning: Chad. He's such a protective little shit all around. Rain: Starrk I think. Mist: Kisuke. I feel it in my soul Cloud: Yoruichi. She didn't mean to okay.

Tsuna and his elements are about to get SO trained up. SOSO trained up. Ichigo isn't going to let him go in blind and weak. He recognizes a protector's soul in Tsuna and he knows exactly what will happen the moment Tsuna has to step up for his people.

He just...needs the right kind of handling.

Then he finds out about the seal and OH is he not pleased about THAT at all. Good thing he still has Kisuke's cane and can push a soul out of a body. Once the chains that are wrapped around his soul are visible its not HARD to get rid of them. Speeds some things up. Also actually kind of pisses Ichigo off very much, how Tsuna was handled and how the training was being handled. Yeah no. This is HIS kid now, fuck off.

Crossover Idea #4 - Yugioh/Katekyo Hitman Reborn

Yuugi and Co. have Dying Will Flames

With new fandoms comes new crossover ideas, and ho boy I have a lot of KHR ideas now.  Anyway, yeah, this idea basically boils down to that, instead of Shadow Games being a thing, Yuugi and the rest of the main cast of Yugioh main characters all live in the KHR world and end up having Dying Will Flames.  The whole thing kicks off when, one day when he’s just minding his own business, there’s suddenly a second consciousness in Yuugi’s head, trying to wrest control of his body away from him, and in the process of trying to keep whatever it is from taking over, Yuugi accidentally activates his Dying Will Flames.  The sudden burst of Flames makes whatever is in Yuugi’s head stop trying to take over, and, after fleeing back home to hide in his room, Yuugi manages to get the presence in his head to talk.  Said presence is (you probably guessed it) this universe’s Yami Yuugi/Atem.  Atem is a Mist whose death somehow resulted in him becoming a disembodied spirit with no memories of his own life before death.  As a result, he’s been hopping from body to body for at least a century, taking people over so that he has some medium through which to search for information on his past, and up until recently that usually results in the death of the person whose body he ends up using.  However, when Yuugi went Flame-Active, Atem recognized his Flames as Sky Flames and tried to pull back out of Yuugi’s body, having no desire to kill a young Sky, and somehow ended up stuck in Yuugi’s head during the process of trying to escape.  Now Yuugi has another person’s soul stuck inside of his head, and no way to get rid of him.  Yuugi is understandably unnerved by this, but, because Yuugi in most (if not all) universes is a borderline saint, he offers to help Atem find the missing information he’s been looking for.  In the process of helping Atem try to uncover his missing past, Yuugi and his group of friends end up getting into all kinds of dangerous situations, during which his friends go Flame Active one-by-one and end up becoming Yuugi’s Guardians.

That’s the basic idea of the crossover, and here’re some of the details I’ve figured out:

Yami/Atem was a Misty Sky when he was alive, meaning he was a Sky with secondary Mist Flames.  Whatever happened to him (I’m thinking he might have been an Arcobaleno) tore his Sky Flames right out of his body, which both robbed him of most of his memories and his life.

Yuugi’s future Guardians are Atem (Mist), Jounochi/Joey (Storm), Honda/Tristan (Lightning), Kaiba (Cloud with secondary Mist flames), Anzu/tea (Sun), and Ryou (Rain with secondary Mist flames).

Other characters with Flames from the Yugioh cast include Mokuba (Rain), Mai (Sun), Serenity (Sun and Rain), Marik (Mist and Storm), Ishizu (Rain), and Pegasus (Mist).

Yuugi and Atem, understandably, start off with a really rocky relationship, partially because of the whole “Atem meant to possess and possibly kill Yuugi” thing, and partially because after Yuugi’s Flames go active a lot of the local Flame-Aware criminals try to track him down and force him to join their groups, and Atem takes care of these people Season 0 style, meaning lots of people either end up brain-dead or insane – which in turn means that Yuugi is terrified of Atem until he stops doing the Season 0 thing as often.

After going Flame-Active less people outside the criminal lifestyle pick on Yuugi because of the whole “Harmony” thing, and lots of the less antagonistic people around him get attracted to his Flames and thus to him.  In fact, Yuugi ends up with a cult following, mostly made up of his year-mates in school (because the Harmony aspect of his Flames attracts non-Flame-Active people like moths apparently), and the poor introverted baby-panda has no idea how to deal with this sudden worship of his person.

Pegasus isn’t actually a villain in this ‘verse – he’s genuinely just interested in creating and playing card games, and Yuugi just so happens to be the boy who beat Kaiba at a card game and thus gets invited to a lot of gaming tournaments.  He does get a little creepy sometimes though, since he can tell Yuugi is Flame-Active with both Sky flames and, to anybody sensitive to Flames, Mist flames (he doesn’t know Atem is a separate entity from Yuugi), and Mists get very, very competitive with each other sometimes.

Bakura (as in evil spirit Bakura) does exist in this ‘verse, but he doesn’t end up possessing Ryou until after Ryou’s become Yuugi’s Rain guardian, at which point Yuugi’s like “oh heck no” and actually gives Atem free reign to deal with the other spirit, because at this point Yuugi’s comfortable enough with Atem to not be so scared of him when he does his whole Mist Mind-Crush thing and doesn’t appreciate evil spirits coming after his guardians.

Bakura was a Cloud with a powerful Mist secondary when he was alive, and ended up in a similar situation to Atem, meaning he’s a Mist ghost hopping around from body to body.  He does have some of his memories, namely that he remembers that he and Atem knew each other a very, VERY long time ago and that they REALLY disliked each other, but he doesn’t remember much else.

Most of the conflict in the story honestly comes from the criminals coming after Yuugi for being a Sky, not from the Yugioh canon characters.

Yuugi does eventually encounter canon KHR characters when someone decides to hire one of the Varia to get rid of Kaiba, Kaiba chases off the guy, said guy goes back and tells Xanxus that Kaiba’s an active possibly Varia-Quality Cloud, and Xanxus comes to town to scout out Kaiba as a possible Cloud officer for the Varia. Yuugi ends up meeting Xanxus while he’s in town and is mildly terrified of him, whereas Atem is highly irritated by him and ends up trying to Mist Mind Crush him – only, because Xanxus deals with Viper/Mammon on a practically daily basis, he knows how to avoid the attack and attacks back, and Yuugi almost ends up dead.  

When Xanxus leaves town after Yuugi gets away, he ends up informing the rest of the Vongola about a Sky with unknown affiliations in Domino City and a pretty powerful Mist guardian (and a possible future Cloud guardian), and thus things start to get REALLY interesting for Yuugi and Co. as the Vongola comes into town trying to either kill Yuugi or recruit him and his friends.  Meanwhile Yuugi just wants all these criminals to leave him and his friends alone because they keep bothering him and letting Atem mind-crush all of them is starting to look really tempting.

Whoever gave Tango the idea that Jimmy didn’t have fire in him — and therefore would never truly match him — had been utterly, embarrassingly wrong. The universe didn’t make mistakes. When it had said ‘your nether flames and his golden wings belong together’, it had known. It didn’t bind their souls together for no treason, it had known.

Tango hadn’t thought he could admire Jimmy more than he already did. Sure, his wit, his charisma, his nature, all those traits made him easily lovable, but somewhere deep down below, there were embers. Embers that, when struck, provoked, were more than willing to start burning.

He looked up at his once soulmate, red eyes wide in wonder, one arm numb from the TNT that had brought him down, and he couldn’t help the proud grin that parted his lips and showed his teeth. There in front of him, Jimmy’s wings were bright with golden flames. The were spread wide, cutting Grian off from him, the fire filling in the gaps where his wings were short.

As much as his body begged him to let himself fall asleep, he stayed up to watch Jimmy chase Grian away. The pride was just enough to keep his eyes from slipping shut as the adrenaline started to wear off. He wanted to cheer, wanted to shout “Whoo! I knew you had it in you!”, but he couldn’t so much as say his name. Instead, a pathetic groan escaped — really, people needed to see he was the incompetent one of the two.

When Jimmy finally turned to him and kneeled by his side, his eyes were bright and glowed golden light. He looked downright angelic, like he’d flown down from the sky like a guardian angel just for him. He was the canary, but instead of his voice dying out, he turned aflame to lead the miners out the cave, a brightness in the abyss, a lantern.

Tango didn’t doubt the hand Jimmy reached out to help him up was hot to the touch. He couldn’t tell even if he wanted to. He staggered to his feet, Jimmy catching him easily, and laughed softly in embarrassment.

“Thank you,” he muttered, a genuine smile on his face as he looked up at his once soulmate — he wouldn’t mind still calling him that.

The flames died down. Jimmy looked … tired, but his eyes were painted with concern, protectiveness, like he’d set himself and the ground around him aflame again if he needed to.

But as they did, the collar around his neck became visible again. A yellow timer ticked down, and it was a horrid reminder that this wasn’t Double Life anymore. They weren’t soulmates anymore.

And still, as Jimmy smiled at him, he couldn’t quite agree with that. They weren’t tethered together anymore, but there was something strong between them still.

“No more little canary, huh? Who knew there was a phoenix beneath all that?” He grinned, exhausted as he was, and patted his chest.

Jimmy just rolled his eyes. “Don’t let Grian get you like that again. I might not be there to save you again like that.”

Tango gave him a curt nod, though he would love to see those brilliant flames again. They’d match pretty well with his own, wouldn’t they?

The Legend of the Aurora Dragons

In the coldest regions of the world, amidst towering mountains and endless snowfields, there exists a creature of breathtaking beauty—the Aurora Dragons. Known far and wide for their shimmering, iridescent scales, these majestic beings shift in color as light touches them, dancing between hues of pink, blue, and purple like the very auroras that grace the night sky. 

It is whispered among the northern tribes that when the Aurora Borealis illuminates the heavens, it is not just celestial light but the dragons themselves, gliding gracefully across the sky. Their forms blend with the light, their wings outstretched as they soar through the frozen night. Only those who look close enough, and with eyes unclouded by doubt, may glimpse their radiant forms.

Legends tell that where the blood of an Aurora Dragon touches the earth, a miraculous ore grows—one imbued with the light of the auroras. Whether it be grass, stone, or barren ice, these glowing crystals rise from the ground, pulsing with the colors of the heavens. It is said that those who find and hold such a crystal are blessed with untold power, yet few are brave or lucky enough to witness such an event.

The origins of these enigmatic dragons are shrouded in mystery. Some believe they once lived among the stars, radiant guardians of the skies. In ancient times, they were thought to be dying stars, whose light had not yet faded, casting themselves down from the heavens before their time. Upon their fall, they took the form of dragons, their celestial essence preserved in the ever-shifting light of their scales. 

Their eggs, too, are a marvel beyond compare, resembling glowing gems—crystalline orbs that emit soft, colorful light, reminiscent of the auroras themselves. It is said that when these eggs hatch, they do not simply crack open like those of lesser creatures. Instead, they burst into a radiant flash of light so blinding that no mortal can look upon it. In that moment of brilliance, the dragon emerges, fully formed, while the egg itself dissolves into nothing, leaving no trace of its existence.

Aurora Dragons are said to be beings of pure light, able to harness and manipulate it for their own purposes. Some believe that when all the colors of their flames unite, a portal to another realm may open—a realm where light reigns eternal and darkness has no hold. Yet, this remains a tale unproven, a rumor passed down through generations.

Though their true nature—whether kind or cruel—remains a mystery, the people of the northern lands revere these dragons. Each year, they hold grand festivals in their honor, believing that the sighting of an Aurora Dragon brings good fortune, health, and prosperity. Offerings are made, songs are sung, and fires are lit, all in the hope that these celestial creatures will look kindly upon them from the night sky.

Dovewing is also called Dove, Miss Wing, and Dove Wing.

Turtle Tail is also called Turtletail, Miss Tail (or Miss T) and Turtle.

Cats like Millie or Snake will sometimes take last names, but highly prefer their single name.

Bramblekit absolutely took a cookie when offered while he was at Frostfur's house, thinking they were chocolate chip, only to get oatmeal raisin. He hated it but was too polite to spit it out.

Snowbird cut Ratscar off from seeing his nespring when she found out about his connections to a cult called The Place of No Stars.

Blossompaw and Briarpaw regularly swam in a river nearby their house, with Bumblepaw on watch for anyone coming who might get them in trouble.

Briarlight also put flame stickers/decals on her wheelchair. She sometimes rotates them out for seasonal stuff, like holiday themed ones. She put a weed sticker on it once for 4/20 and Millie threw a fit over it.

During the nasty custody battle between Goldenflower and Tigerclaw, Swiftpaw told Tigerclaw he never wanted to see him again, he would rather be dead than have his father hold any custody of him.

Smudge regularly visits and babysits Squirrelkit and Leafkit, he wishes Firestar would move back to Kittypet Town, but understands that his best friend is happier in Clan City.

Leafpool was in a very bad situation when she was pregnant with her triplets, as Crowfeather left her with nothing when they broke up. She pretended that she was going to be a surrogate, as Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight were having trouble conceiving. That was the lie.

Squirrelflight works as a professional chef. Ferncloud works as a stay-at-home mom but makes plush for her friends and their kids, as sewing is her passion. Thornclaw is a PE teacher. Ashfur is a drama teacher. Brambleberry is a chemistry teacher. Leafpool is a doctor. Cinderheart is a receptionist at the hospital Leafpool works at.

Hollyleaf and Cinderheart were "borderline dating" for MONTHS before Jayfeather snapped and screamed at one of them "just spit it out already!"

Jayfeather is a programmer, and works at making more video games and controllers accessible to blind folks like him! He works with Snowtail (Snowkit) who also works helps out gamers who are HoH.

Scourge is a lawyer, who helps Firestar find the evidence that Tigerstar murdered Redtail during an election.

Turtle Tail is preschool teacher, and works with Sorreltail and Snowbird. They work together at Kit School in Sanctuary Lake Elementary School/Preschool.

Clan City has 5 main districts, for the 5 Clans. Everyone is generally very proud of their home and where their family came from, and xenophobia seems to be on the rise... Many come over, but just as many are driven out by the harsh attitudes of the locals.

In another time, there are more districts. Jingo District, Blood District, and Warrior District. There is also Mountain City, and Gorge City where people in the Sky District lived for many years following a massive disaster that forced everyone to evacuate, they lived with the locals there for years, giving a mjor economy boost to a dying city, and caused quite the controversy when they left.

Guardian Village is nearby as well, traditional people who live amongst ruins, as well as many dotted Sister Settlements, where a semi-nomadic traveling group sets up camps. There is The River Kingdom, a valley where a group of secretive cats live in peace, also called The Park by outsiders.

In another time, the 5 founders of Clan City, Skystar, Thunderstar, Windstar, Shadowstar and Riverstar, settled there together after disaster swept the area. Shadowstar came from Mountain Village, plauge causing some cats to leave for hope of a better life, Windstar came from a village on the Moor that was destroyed by wildfires with her fiance Gorse Fur, Skystar came from what would later become Rogue Town, bounced through orphanages with her brother Fox, Thunderstar was born to 2 Mountain Cats, Clear Sky and Bright Storm, soon after arriving in the area, and Riverstar came from the River Kingdom to escape a flood with his young niece Flutter.

To this day I think that khr did gave us one of the easiest yet most entertaining sorting systems in animanga. I can spend hours and hours and hours sorting characters on the sky element/attributes system. Easy logic, concise explanation, made for found families and friend groups, all the fun and none of the nuance.

For the ones who doesn't know, it goes like this:

SOME STORY CONTEXT (not really important):

Katekyo Hitman Reborn! is a manga about an Italian mafia family that is in need of a successor, but everyone has been killed except Tsunayoshi Sawada, a japanese kid that is The Loser™. The Vongola, said mafia family, send a hitman that happens to be in a baby form to train him and protect him: Reborn. He trains Tsuna by shooting him on the head with a Vongola special bullet, the Dying Will Bullet; if the person shot has regrets, they will reawaken (only the underwear survives at first) with a flame on their head, the Dying Will Flame. As long as the flame last, the person is on Dying Will Mode and their abilities are enhanced, almost like a super or something, by turning all the internal safety switches off.

THE BASIC TERMS FOR YOU TO KNOW:

What we care about is the Dying Will Flame. It is a form of high-density energy refined from one's own life force. The Dying Will Flame has similar properties to a real flame and it has levels of purity (the greater the resolve of a person, the clearer and most powerful a flame will be), attributes (different flame elements; you can be born with multiple attributes, but it can't be learn without a previous affinity), and types (in the manga there are the Seven Flames of Sky and the Seven Flames of Earth; we'll be talking about the Seven Flames of Sky only, as to not give major spoilers).

In the KHR! World, the users can channel their Dying Will Flames through tradional weapons to attack or they can use them to open up certain special devices with different purposes (including functions as containing more weapons or food or daily life objects). However, the most notorious use is for the mafia bosses and their guardians, their inner circle of subordinates. Using seven rings specially made to channel the Dying Will Flame, they can fight or use them on their pure form to attack, defend and even heal others.

NOW, THE REAL FUN. THE SORTING.

As the name says it, the Sky Flames are divided in seven attributes (also called elements). Those are named after phenomenons that happen on the sky: Storm, Rain, Mist, Lightning, Sun, Cloud and Sky itself.

Traditionally, the Sky was viewed as a leader attribute and their users' mission was mainly to understand, accept and influence their subordinates. Something like the sky, that encompasses all the other phenomenons and allows them to be as their are. However, for the sake of having fun, you could give the "leader" of your group another attribute and play with the role of the sky flame!

THE SEVEN FLAMES OF SKY !

SKY FLAME: as said before, it's the common attribute for the leaders. That's because A) the Sky Flame can achieve the greatest level of purity and B) it can open any special device. It symbolizes the extensive and all encompassing influence of the Sky over the other elements. It's personal attribute is HARMONY and it's role is to balance things out. The Sky Flame color is orange.

STORM FLAME: an attribute common for the relentless, the Storm Flame user should be the unstoppable base of attacks of the family / group. It symbolizes the storm that fiercely spins with no end and for that its attribute is not other than DISINTEGRATION. The Storm Flame can only open special devices made for itself and its color is red.

RAIN FLAME: the role of the Rain Flame user is to prepare the family / group for the fight, cleaning the blood spilled and bringing the calmness factor. It can also only open the special devices made for the same element, but as it is to be expected, its attribute is TRANQUILITY. The Rain Flame is blue and it symbolizes the flood that cleans it all.

CLOUD FLAME: the untouchable users of the Cloud Flame are known for acting as a distant floating cloud that cannot be contained and follows its own path. Its another element that can only open special devices made for itself, but the Cloud Flame color has more a purple tone and its attribute is PROPAGATION. Their role is to protect the family from the outside and never get caught.

MIST FLAME: with a lilac tone, the Mist Flame belongs to those who pretend something exist or not to confuse the enemies and protect the real form of the family / group. As all the other elements, this Dying Will Flame can only open special devices that match its signature type. Its attribute is CONSTRUCTION and, as you cna imagine, it symbolizes the untouchable fraudulent illusion.

LIGHTNING FLAME: more than anything, the Lightning Flames is known for striking with remarkable force. Its attribute is HARDENING and, its color is green and as all the rest except for the Sky Flame, it cannot open special devices that doesn't match its attribute. The role of these users is to absorb the damage to the family / groups like a lightning rod.

SUN FLAME: At last, the Sun Flame has a yellow color and its attribute is known as ACTIVATION. Those users of the Sun Flame must destroy whatever is unfortunate for their families / groups with their own bodies and shine like the sun over all the rest. It is the sixth flame that cannot open any special device not mafe for itself and it symbolizes the sun that brightens up the sky.

TO SORT YOUR CHARACTERS all you have to do is think about what description they match better. You can follow the khr canon and sort characters by groups of seven first, one for each attribute, and if you have more then you can sort them as special characters. Or you can match it the way you better like it, disregarding order and putting (for example) three rain flame users in one family with not sun flame user in sight.

Legend leaned on his sword, panting heavily as he forced himself to stand again.

He'd managed to get the monsters all on one side of him, but that guardian had friends now and there were four of them circling him. The monsters had thinned out, now only about two dozen. He was fast but even he wasn't fast enough every time.

His left arm was useless, having taken a guardian beam to the bicep and broken his wrist by stupidly blocking a swung club with his injured arm. He had barely dodged a beam that had went for his head, and it managed to miss his eye but not his cheek and the bridge of his nose. He was lucky it missed his eye.

Even with the guardian beams, he had been hit by clubs, giant swords, even took a spear to the thigh and still was forcing himself to stand one more time.

He was so dead here.

He glared, wiping his mouth of blood with the back of his hand. He stumbled back as he forced himself to stand one more time.

The wind rushed all around him, a surge of energy in his veins, and a sharp ozone filled the air. He couldn’t help but laugh.

"S'rry... Sorry f'r makin' you step in,” he slurred as he fell to one knee. Then the world exploded.

They say lightning never strikes twice, but clearly, they haven't seen a battlefield after Farore decides to step in.

"I told you to stop almost dying, darling." Legend felt a hand land on his head as he struggled to keep upright. A feeling of warmth and serenity filled him. "Only a couple more years before you grow into your power, and some time after the immortality will set in."

He let out a soft breath. "I know."

"This is the third time."

"Third time's the charm?"

She gave him a stern look, he grinned dazedly. "It better be."

He didn't respond, even if she healed him he still felt the effects of almost dying. It was her way of making sure he understood how close he had come to death, even if they both knew full well he was no immature, naive child. He knew what mortality was and that he was extremely mortal as he was.

She softened, kneeling and pulling him close. He collapsed into her arms.

"I know it's hard," she promised, carding a hand through his hair. "The world has it out for you, it had it out for Hylia too. Nayru made sure she made it, and I will make sure you do too."

He nodded into her shoulder, his body shuddering as he inhaled slowly.

"Now you listen to me, and you listen well, Link." Farore held him at arm's length, summer-warm hands cupping his face. "You’re not allowed to die."

He snorted. "I know, Momma."

"Well you don't act like it," she huffed. "Now,"

She snapped her fingers and a portal appeared beside them.

"--if they ask, it was your cousin who saved you; she needs all her heroes on this quest."

Legend sighed, he shook his head to try and clear away the dizziness from the blood loss. "Yes ma'am."

"Now go. Have fun and goodness gracious, be safe." She pulled him into a hug and kissed the top of his head.

Just as quickly as she came, she disappeared with a rush of warm wind.

Legend sighed softly. He moved over to the portal and looked back. There was a burnt crater where the horde had been, and the flames put out by the storm that was just beginning.

He stepped out, immediately about to collapse as he stepped out and his legs even gave out beneath him.

"Holy shit--Vet!" Someone grabbed his arm. "Are you--"

"I'm fine," he forced out, pushing Sky off him. "I'm fine--Just exhausted."

"Exhausted--We thought you were dead!" Wild screeched.

Legend winced, but he got himself to stand and face them. "Yeah, well, I did too. Turns out our patron goddess ain't too happy with that idea, said I'm not allowed to die."

They stared at him.

"Let's not test how far that grace goes," Time said. "We're glad you’re alright, vet... Sailor cried himself to sleep thinking he left you to die."

Legend winced. "Ah... Yeah, he's gonna kill me himself."

Twilight laughed weakly. "Yeah he probably is, Apple."

Legend looked over at Wind rousing, noticing him, and then moving on.

Legend sighed softly. "Not a ghost, Sailor!"

Wind's head snapped back toward him. "Vet?!"

"Goddess said no. If she could slap me I think she would've."

Wind stared at him. Then he was scrambling to get up. "YOU SON OF A BITCH I'M GOING TO KILL YOU MYSELF!"

Legend managed to take a deep breath, gathering his remaining energy, before he bolted.

Wind screeched at him for one, tricking him into thinking he'd died, which was not his fault, and two, for making him leave him behind... which was 100% his fault.

He managed to run about five laps before his body finally gave out and he skidded to a stop over by Sky and collapsed behind him.

"Whoa, you good?"

"Noooo," he groaned. "Protect me. Surviving death might fix a body but it definitely doesn't recharge it."

Wind slowed to a jog, panting heavily, and he dropped into a cross-legged position beside Legend.

"You look tired."

"I am, can't you try to kill me tomorrow when I can actually fight back?" He whined, totally acting all of the seventeen years old he was.

Wind clearly debated it.

Sky, goddesses bless his in-law, intervened. "Leave him be, Sailor. I think he should rest, genuinely."

Wind nodded, then proceeded to flop over beside Legend and press against him. Legend sighed and shifted to accommodate him.

"Guys you’re half on Sky's--"

"They're fine," Sky promised Twilight, who easily backed off. Sky ran a hand through Legend's hair as Wind took one of his hands and fidgeted with his fingers.

Legend let that lull him to sleep.

I have to ask: is Izuku a sky and if so does he get awakened by Tsuna around him and draws in his own elements?

Cause I 100% say Tenya is a cloud.

Oh I love this.

Izuku whose flames never went active because the never really needed to (it was so easier to keep his head down, to let things happen to him, to suppress his dying will until even he forgot the warmth in his chest when he really wanted.) suddenly going active and needing to find guardians.

The first few are easy enough. Tenya, his cloud, Shouto, his storm, Tsu his rain. But the others?

Denki comes later, lightning turned green and laughing as he says Spanner was right. Hitoshi had been a surprise if he was being honest but what was mind control if not a form of illusion.

The only one I can’t think of is who the sun guardian would be.

Mizumura Family Members

This is a list and summary of some ocs who'll eventually appear in the Rewrite! They're a yakuza group who have Oceanic Flames/Dying Will Flames of the Ocean! They're an antagonistic group to the Vongola Group! Info under cut!

Hideko Mizumura - The Ocean Flame/Sky equivalent. She's the "princess" of her school, the head of the student council, and more. On the outside and from reputation, she is perfect in every way. In reality, she's a bitch. All the positive things she does are for negative reasons. For example: She upholds a zero tolerance bullying policy! Because if you're going to be bullied in her school, it'll be by her or one of her guardians. She's like Hibari in the sense she sees her school as her territory, so she doesn't tolerate it when she feels people are encroaching on her territory. By the end of the arc, she'll reflect a lot on herself and her actions, but doesn't fully redeem herself right away.

Miyu Saito - The Tsunami Flame/Storm equivalent. With a cute, kogal gyaru look and generally bubbly personality towards her fellow students all while following the "princess" around, Miyu is viewed as Hideko's "pet". In reality, she's her lover and right hand woman. While her hobbies and passions lie in fashion and beach related things, her pride rests in being extremely loyal and ruthless for her boss/girlfriend. If Hideko says the word, Miyu will heed her call. However their relationship at the start of the arc is very one sided and Miyu is very insecure about that fact. Miyu also has trichotillomania, resulting in her preferring to have her actual hair really short and wear wigs.

Jun Kanzaki - The Abyss Flame/Cloud equivalent. She's deemed the oddest of the guardian group and seen as a bit of a social outcast. She doesn't really care though, heavily preferring to be alone. The Abyss Flame is a very eccentric artist who'll do anything for her art. Aesthetically she's very gothic, but like with a lot of ocean themes. Out of the group, she's the most disillusioned with Hideko, being able to see their leader for all her faults and flaws. However, this doesn't make her any less loyal to her.

Megumi Kawakami- The Tide Flame/ Rain equivalent. The award winning head of the swim team at Midori Middle and one of Hideko's best friends. She's beloved by her fellow students! Except the swim team members that don't hold up to her expectations. She's known for making them train much harder and longer than those she deems to be doing well, often not even letting them rest. That's all she has for now.

Ren Muto - The Sea Flame/Sun equivalent. Head of the volleyball team, when not in season she pursues track. Much like the Tide flame, she treats certain teammates cruelly. But again because she's popular everywhere else in the school, no one speaks up. And that's about all I have for her right now outside of her going to be very tomboyish aesthetically.

Shinju Shimizu - The Reef Flame/Mist equivalent. Another one without much to her. However she does have a colorful, coral inspired Decora Kei look to her and she's an underclassman to the others. Being a first year while I imagine the thus mentioned thus far are 2nd or 3rd years. She also has a one sided crush on the equivalent to the Lightning Guardian who I'll do next.

Tomoko Watanabe - The Current Flame/ Lightning Equivalent! She too, like the Reef, is an underclassman. She's known for being really smart and the top of her class though. However, she's completely obsessed with and idolizes Hideko. As a result, whatever info Miyu doesn't learn through rumor mills, the Current Guardian will be the one to learn then instantly bring to Hideko. At the end of the arc, she's the most bitter towards the Vongola group simply because they managed to win against Hideko. 

Yumi Maekawa- The Arctic Flame/ Snow equivalent.  She, all and all, is a complete WIP as I have nothing for her. All I have is literally just she's loyal to Hideko like the others she's an antagonist lol. Part of why she’s such a WIP in my Snow Flame lore is still mostly a WIP.

Okay so here is me rambling about my KHR/BNHA au cause I have to now thanks @dark-elf-writes

Okay so the basis of the AU is the Acrobaleno Sky is a new one and that she strikes a deal with the Vendice that if she can get a Flame User to be a hero without a Quirk they stop forcing anyone who activates flames into the mafia. This operates on the idea that the pacifier system isn’t truly gone-gone. I had the acrobaleno being immortal but maybe I’ll just say it’s been 30 years so I can have Tsuna regretting this Sky wasn’t around.

But anyway the Sky is a woman dying of cancer because holding the pacifier still kills Skies. She was dying and got an extra 20 years instead of 3 so she likes this trade.

But anyway she picks a Sky because she can hopefully use his guardians and keep them out of the mafia to. This is Izuku. While she’s doing this though the Vendice on purpose have her accidentally expose flames to the world because they want to make it harder for her and because they’re bored okay? Taking down Kawahira left them with nothing to do.

So Izuku has criminals after him and heroes wanting to help and it’s chaos. Meanwhile his mentor has to snap his bond with Bakugou who looses half his fire power and he has to deal with his mom losing custody of him for reasons and it’s a mess.

Bonus? His mentor is kinda cool.

Shinsou is Skull’s kid. He is a cloud to. I had him as a Sky but I like Cloud Shinsou more here.

i think these are mostly solidified? i just have to write the descriptions lmao

the concept: dying will flames of the sky all have a 'daytime' theme. so what about modifying/varying those to have more of a 'nighttime' theme?

these aren't… especially adherent to the categorization of the normal sky set. not totally different like the earth flame set, it's more like "(Flame Type) shouldn't be able to do that?!" … but these do!

they're not related to canon Flames of Night at all, but i think they should have some relation to the bertesca famiglia from the DS games, aka the OG "snow flame" users who just modded the zero point breakthrough iirc.

but... the people who made these flames modified and/or distorted them way harder.

in any case:

Sky Star Flame: Synchronization

Somewhat like Sky's Harmony, Star Flames synchronize everything around it to work together in unison. Any type of Flame can connect to and influence other types more easily with Star Flames. Its users tend to be more powerful while used around other Flame users than they are independently.

Storm Comet Flame: Assimilation

WIP. force a thing to be something it's really not instead of destroying it outright. i think i wrote it had 'a military commander shaping up recruits in bootcamp' vibe. it's definitely not as defined as the others.

Cloud Wind Flame: Dispersion

WIP. scatter things. split things. push things apart. taking one thing and not multiplying it, but dividing it instead. mitosis, in a way. things are all identical here too. functionally like cloud's propagation, but by using a different technique to accomplish the same result, its uses may differ... if i ever come up with something more for it. lmao.

Rain Snow Flame: Preservation

Like the false "Snow Flames" of the Bertesca family, these Snow Flames can freeze other Flames in their tracks. However, these are modified versions of Rain Flames rather than modified Sky Flames, and as such, they can freeze more than other Flames.

Its focus on stopping all other aspects to anything it touches may seem powerful at first glance, but things frozen by Snow Flames will usually thaw out to be the same way they were before being frozen.

Sun Moon Flame: Hibernation

WIP. sun's activation making things work more? moon's hibernation making things slow down.

this can lead to rapid negative changes slowing down too. this is what you use when someone is suffering wounds/illnesses that will harm them greatly or kill them etc. it's also perfect for buying time.

Mist Aurora Flame: Reflection

WIP. not illusions but copying/mimicking. rather than a disguise, users have to actually, fully become what's needed of them... and sacrifice their sense of self in the process.

Lightning Plasma Flame: Amplification

Plasma, as a state of matter, is highly electrically conductive. As such, rather than hardening as a Lightning Flame could, Plasma Flames amplify preexisting effects, uses or abilities of anything it's used with.

alright now maybe someday calegari oc famiglia will get developed enough to use them. i still have to refine moon's guardian and come up with a snow guardian, but... the others kinda exist, just in various states of development... man i'm slow.
