Hi!! I know this is a longshot, but I'm wondering if you have an ask about a character with hip dysplasia & EDS who was the main character in a horror novel? I believe I signed off the ask with 🐭. I sent it in about a year and a half ago, and I don't know if it got eaten or if it's still in drafts. Sorry, and thank you guys for the work you do on this blog!!

I've looked everywhere (I double checked because I thought I missed it the first time) and I can't find an ask similar to this. We have a few about EDS and but not any that fits this exactly. " His voice shakes on those last words, that pain showing through the anger. " I hope... your... so-called 'family' was worth throwing away the one you already had. Because she wasn't the only one who looked up to you, you know. " With that, and at the threat of his voice breaking, he turns to simply walk away from them, unable to stand hearing any excuses-- far too angry to care. But he stops. And looks back to point at them.

" ... I'm NOT going to let you hurt them. They may be flawed-- but this time? They were doing their jobs and they don't deserve your punishment... If I EVER see you return to Heaven doing anything but kneeling I will treat you like a threat to my people. Do you understand? "

He knew the moment his brother arrived, the piercing feeling in his chest as the man who threw him out of hell landed in his domain. He hadn't seen the elder brother in so long.

So he set out to see him. Leaving nothing but a kiss on his daughter's cheek in case he never saw her again. Michael was the one who cast him out, who knew what he wanted this time.

"What makes you think I want you anywhere near my daughter Michael. After everything you did to me."

The man arched a brow, staring up at the elder, arms crossing over his chest. He had heard everything about the conversation with Hades. The hound already reporting him while he was on his way over.

"From what I heard you weren't even there for her trial. Once again abandoning family for duty, but you have always been the goody two shoes. Haven't you?"

"What do you mean by that?" It was, ominous to say the least. She didn't like it when he was being ominous.

"Dad? You look a bit upset. Did something happen between you and Michael?" Charlie knew little of what had happened between them in the past, but knew enough to know that things had been very strained until recently. Something must have happened, possibly an opening of old wounds?

Oh no. Not this question. He can't tell her, he simply can't. And yet... should he say something?? Something along the lines of 'don't trust your uncle' without actually saying that, or--

"....yeah." He can feel his heart begin to pound in his chest all over again. Hoping she won't inquire too much more. Or that the questions she chooses to follow up with are ones that don't pry too deeply into this horrifying Scenario he had accidentally discovered.

The thought of her even going near his older sibling now, it makes him feel sick to his stomach.

What had they done?

What hadn't they done...

Those were the questions that churned in Azrael's head. He was dizzy, disoriented from his Fall. His body was wrapped up in bandages, tended to by the Goetia. He was squinting, everything burned, everything hurt.. He'd lost so much of his golden blood that the avian demons tending to him were shocked he wasn't passed out.

Thus no doubt spoke of the fortitude of Angels, they weren't human after all. Something like blood-loss wouldn't take them down.

The fact they'd let anyone in the room at all was nothing short of a miracle. But it was on Paimon's orders.. rather for the staff to get OUT of the way of Lucifer's 'Knight' charging in.

Then again, it wasn't every day an angel fell, especially an Archangel.

Azrael's condition wasn't.. ideal, however. Sure they had bandaged him up, but there were glaring, open wounds on his back from where four of his six wings were torn out. Cuts that spoke of shattered glass scoured his body, arms and legs burnt from the fall, and a face that showed that he'd yet to stop crying...

He'd only just run out of tears left to shed.

He couldn't even look up at the one speaking to him, red eyes blurred with pain focused on the floor as his remaining pair of wings lay slumped at his sides. Burned of the raven black feathers they once sported, held together by a burning red membrane much like a bat. His halo.. gone, shattered upon impact, a crown of horns now instead took their place.

"Sera... she.." He barely managed to cough out. Azrael's voice was hoarse from his weeping.

"She kept.. she kept overruling me. S-she kept changing my verdicts.." Azrael's body shook.

"First Adam.. he w-was meant to go to Hell. But.. she said no." The newly Fallen Archangel crossed his arms, hands grasping into his bandaged forearms.

"T-then Abel.. poor sweet Abel.. She tried to say he did something t-to cause his murder.. Then Cain.." A hiccup.

"It kept happening. She kept.. she kept trying to do my job.. Th-the job I was made for." Everything he was. The very thing Father created to oversee the necessary evil of Creation.

Death.

An angel created to bring it upon the living, to keep balance in creation. To ensure life ended, and started anew. In a never-ending cycle. To act as the judge and jury of souls into the Afterlife.

"I.. I had enough. I was sick of her taking my work away from me.. I.. I bit her. I lashed out." On the table next to the newly fallen's bedside were two curious objects. A set of golden, radiant weighing scales.. and a black book with a golden skull and motifs.

"She attacked me, tore out four of my wings... cast me out in anger. I took my treasures with me... I wouldn't let her have them. Sh-she would abuse them. She would abuse the tools F-Father gave me." His voice petered out into a whimper at this point, Paimon looking on from the door-frame.

'.. Says his name is 'Azrael'...' He spoke quietly, mainly for Michael's ears. 'The rumored 'Angel of Death'. To think Sera would stoop as low to cast out Death itself from Heaven.'
