4. What are some things you are tired of seeing in the RPing community?

[ girlies (gender neutral) it's almost 2024 and there's still problems with female characters. like. i'm not saying YOU HAVE TO PLAY THEM but yknow. playing with them and being at least open to the idea of shipping. maybe treat them like human beings. dont immediately consider them as annoying as soon as they're powerful or not perfect. yknow. ]

6. Your view on Mary/Gary sues?

[ okay starting with saying that i HAAAAAAAATE those terms. Especially Mary Sue, I've seen it thrown around against female characters who just happen to be, again, Not Perfect or god forbid more or just as powerful as other male characters, or oh my god have a perfectly good relationship with a man and therefore becoming The Enemy. it's an archaic and mysoginistic term that i hope people will stop using.

now. this said. let's answer this ask as it should've been put, so talking about. overpowered characters. i have 0 problems with overpowered characters. i have a few very overpowered muses myself that i tend to neuter for balancing reasons - be it by making them obnoxious like Green, or too emotional to win consistently like Silver, or giving them actual weaknesses in combat -, but if your muse is super powerful, that's cool!! i love strong powerful muses!! the real problem, for me, is that very small, yet INCREDIBLY loud minority of people that aren't playing them with the thought of "they're likely going to win", but thinking "they ARE going to win and there's nothing you can do about it". as i said in colress' blog, roleplaying is about compromising and talking to one another first and foremost, and you can't expect things to always go smoothly for your muse only because you made them "the most powerful character ever", and you can't expect to not deal with consequences if they act rudely or, ironically enough, too friendly with someone!! just like you won't be liked by everyone in your life nor will live perfectly and achieve everything ever at the first try, neither will your muse.

we're playing in a fandom where someone with a level 5 rattata and a lot of patience can take down entire leagues. if you want to write a power fantasy where everyone will always love your character, don't involve others ]

This doesn’t really belong here, but I’m on this blog and it is RP-related so lol

Something I loved and miss a little bit about the DW RPC back in the early 2010s is the... gosh, I wanna say it was called ��The Double Heart Network”? It was basically a help/support resource blog where DW roleplayers could have their blogs listed as places people could go to get comfort and support from their favorite DW characters. Obviously it wasn’t a therapy service and it didn’t pretend to be, but people were allowed to list “specialties” to let people know which topics they were most comfortable supporting people with, be it bullying, relationship advice, or grief.

It was really wholesome and such a nice way to let people know that you were a safe space to vent or ask for help. And on the flipside, it was also kind of nice using your character to help people; I did that quite a lot back when I wrote Ten. I liked it.

I would probably do something like that again, but Nathan is not someone you’d want to get serious advice from LOL

I’d maybe do it as a joke, though. It is canon-ish that Nathan tried to run an advice column. It was bad advice. But it was advice.

    Honestly, from what he knew about most girls, Kensuke merely made an educated guess based on how frequently he would see their doe eyes lighting up when stumbling across a cute plushie; still, he had no actual way of knowing whether or not Ryu was also the type to crave soft, fluffy things, so should she deny it, then he would have little issue, believing her. As it turns out, however, she seemed to not mind going along with his jests, so with that same lopsided grin, he'll soon playfully shrug.

    "Oh, now, that would entirely depend on how skilled we both are, wouldn't it?" Kensuke reasons while gradually settling into a casual pace beside her; only, he didn't exactly have a clear destination in mind and was merely following her lead the whole entire time. "And I don't see why not! After all, it's not everyday I'm granted the chance to take a cute girl out on a date; besides, trying out something new every once in a while might end up broadening my horizons."

    Granted, he's aware Ryu probably didn't view their little outing together that way, yet at the same time, Kensuke couldn't resist being just a tad bit cheeky around her due to how absolutely insufferable he was. Even so, he resisted the urge to teasingly add he would like to do her if she was accepting any alternative activities, for he realizes that may come across as sexual harassment and Ryu might be put off by flirtatiously perverse remarks... meaning ultimately, he would keep that part to himself while letting out a thoughtful hum.

    "Fine, I suppose! As far as 'anything exciting' goes, though, I wouldn't say much really comes to mind? In fact, I've just been practising my piano, working on assignments, and taking exams like any normal music student, all while somehow maintaining a pretty average GPA," Kensuke then modestly informs her, before nudging her own shoulder back with a mischievous grin lacing his lips. "But enough about boring old me! To tell you the truth, I'm more curious on how you're doing, Ryu-senpai, so if you don't mind me asking... what sort of things have you been up to lately?"

Easy laughter follows his words, bright eyes tracking the way he teases obliviousness, her own hands resting against her hips.  After spending some time with Kensuke, she grew familiar with the way he liked to poke fun. But with his relinquishment, her smile grows into a toothy beam, feigning a wound to her chest with a playful clutch of her blouse. “   Oogh, you got me. Totally expecting to bring some loot home, ‘kay?  ” A particular destination wasn’t in mind, but she knew there’d been a few around; a couple bar arcades, and some arcades around the eateries in the area. Was that too childish of a choice? “   It could be fun, play a few games and grab some snacks – unless, you’d rather do something else, mm?  ”

With a nod of her head she urges him to follow her along; regardless – they could always explore and find something more mutually acceptable. She didn’t mind a little adventure, she simply wanted some enjoyable company. Bumping into his shoulder, she playfully nudges his side, head tilted towards him. “   So how’ve you been? Anything exciting happening with you?   ”

((I'm honestly sick of the rpc here on tumblr. The mind set has gotten worse over the years. I'm staying but seeing a pal deal with harsh treatment just really steams my buns... if you have a personal beefs with someone-- leave it between you and the other person. Quit 'warning' people about it. Not everyone will get along. There'll ALWAYS be someone that doesnt like you. But just cuz you don't like someone, it doesnt give you the right to turn other people against someone cuz you don't like them. A lot of people in the rpc are adults, but they don't act like it.

Sorry, I'm just getting sick of things on here... dw, I'm staying. I just need to vent cuz I see it happen more and more to people.

I'm really happy my content managed to make you invested in gintama :)) that makes me suuuuuper happy. these characters mean a lot to me and have genuinely become a huge comfort. It's nice to know someone reads the stuff I post, since I often feel ignored and whatnot when I post things about the siblings sometimes and end up getting in my head regarding that. But aaaaah like, you always showed interest and it makes me enjoy being mutuals with you soooo much. Like if I ever lost all my followers and you were the only one left I'd be happy, because of how invested you are into what we write together. As such, anons who do not make it clear if the transph*bia is real or fake will be ip blocked immediately. (Ideally, send in an emoji of some sort so I can identify you, or if you're a mutual trying to stir up some drama, dm me ahead of time so we're on the same page.) Hate towards me or my muse will not be tolerated whatsoever.

IC transph*bia posts will be tagged "Transphobia," as a catch all, but if I need to make a specific tag, please tell me. I want the drama, but in no way do I want to make this blog unsafe for you. Any actual tr*nsphobic content I receive will not be posted.

You never know what you're going to get with me. You may get a multipara starter/reply, you may get a few sentences. I don't expect you to match my length, especially if I've written a behemoth of a starter... but I do ask that you try to match my effort. If I'm writing a huge reply and you respond with something that doesn't match the setting or context, (and do this consistently,) I'm more than likely doing to drop threads, and if this keeps happening, I'll just soft block you. Yes I do this for fun, but I put abouts and rules and everything you need to know for a reason, and if you can't be bothered to put in the effort to read it, or properly read my responses, then don't even bother.

I am a mobile user. Maybe once in a while, I'll pop onto a computer at the library to fine tune posts like this, but it's hard, if not impossible for me to use the site to its full extent. As such, icons will not be used, tags will be scarce, and trimming posts will not be done the way I like.

Trimming posts are a strange area. I have adhd and autism, so the best way for a thread to be trimmed is with the last response still attached. This way I can remember what's going on in the thread, which will lead to an overall better rp experience. If posts don't get trimmed, I'll just have to make the reply and hit that big red X button that deletes everything before my response, so take that as a warning.

RESPECT MY FUCKING BOUNDARIES. I've had some issues with one individual who sucked me into this Fandom, they refused to take no for an answer, and forced me to rp an incest ship. This has scared me away from the rpc for years. If I say no, it does not mean "convince me," it means no. I have a three strikes your out policy.

I have a full-time job as a daycare teacher. I am not always online. Do not pester me for replies.

I like to talk in the DMs!! Please don't think that this is a passive aggressive attempt to get you to reply, as eager as I get, this is a hobby, and I will not rush you intentionally!! Please tell me politely if I make you feel rushed or don't want to talk via dms. (I personally just think that writing is more fun when you know your partners.) That being said, I do not want you feeling like you are responsible for my personal feelings, and vice versa. You are allowed to say no, I am allowed to say no. If you try and guilt trip me, that will count against your three strikes. (And I will warn you dw.)

In addition to this, if you do NOT like communicating via dms, please tell me, and I will stop. If you just ignore me or ghost me, I'm either going to continue to try and reach out, thinking you forgot or didn't get notified, or I'll become intimidated, and think I did something wrong. We're all adults here, we can use our words. You don't have to follow me if you don't want to interact.

I have kept up with the lore moderately well, but if I don't know something, or have forgotten something, do not bully me. I have zero tolerance for it. You respect me, and I respect you.
