It's honestly so sweet. The way his entire face seemed to light up?? The surprise?? Him just waving ao cutely like "I can belive you're here, hi mum hi!"
They're family just seems to be so sweet and loving. His parents seem to love and be so supportive of them all, and it's just so nice to see!
I'm also glad he has his mum there for the first race back. It's just so sweet, and he just seemed so excited and happy to see her. It's probably a big comfort to have her there 🥹

Hosea had opted to sitting out of this celebration. Often he'd join in with songs around the camp fire, at least for a short bit. But tonight he felt sick, tired, old and...really he misses Bessie. The two of them used to waltz around the camp on special occasions like this, he'd whirl her around, she'd dip him a few times, gaining a laugh. He always loved her defiant nature, never truly bound to the societal expectations of a women...he mourns her...he mourns himself. So young and happy once
... His hazel eyes catches sight of his life long friend. The man looks playful and intent. When Dutch intends to have something, he usually gets what he wants. "Dance with me Hosea~" He remembers the days before; Dutch and him...alone, how they danced and sung around the fire, until their feet were sore. Often they were both so drunk they'd stumble into a chuckling mess.
Hosea holds up a hand. 'Perhaps you've still got life in yer' Dutch...but I'm...ah I'm afraid I don't have much left.' He says, though he cannot help but smile fondly at the offer. Good old Dutch never forgets him, no matter how extravagant the party.
Perhaps that's all the more reason for him to enjoy what's left...
'Alright...maybe for a short bit. Let me tell you, I'm a little rusty'

I have fallen in love with NL public transportation, Albert Heijn, my neighbors, my bakfiets, the forest and tampouce.
I hate the fact that it feels like the Dutch just clearly don’t want my money 😂 the amount of roadblocks I’ve hit trying to get things and pay for things is STUPID. The US is quick to take your money- soooo quick and very quick to offer credit and financing which neither of those things are for the greatest good but they sure do come in handy when you really need it and when you’ve grown up used to it/that’s the only way you know life works- having to experience something entirely different is hard.
#personal#oh and I’m pretty sure the lady who lost her shit at a Dutch breakfast place about the slow service was American and I kinda felt bad#for everyone because it’s a cultural difference#she wasn’t trying to be rude it’s just in the IS service is VERY different#you don’t bother waitresses-they bother you 😂#whereas here it’s the opposite- if you don’t wave for them they will never come around#and that’s not rude to them- to them that is polite#or so I have learned

Beach weather is like. 29/30c...
THATS CRAZY I would be melting in a little pool of charlie at 30c.. over here it's hitting 24c this weekend and if I wasn't working I'd legitimately be planning to go swimming or at least go outside and have drinks or ice cream somewhere by some sort of body of water
