ThunderClan’s leader is Lightstar, formerly Lightshine. Flintstar was leader before him. His deputy is Brackenlily. The medicine cat is Finchfeather, who’s apprentice is Gorsepaw, the son of Bluebellshine. The eldest warriors are Fallowpelt, Graytail, Gooseclaw, and Pikewhistle. The youngest warriors are Burrfoot, Timbertail, Berrybelly, Fowlspark, and Spiralblaze. The elders are Weedfeather, Echobounce, and Newtpond. Cindershine is nursing Berrybelly’s kits, Flamekit and Thornkit. Lynxwing and Hawksting are recruiting cats for their anti-StarClan group, MoonClan.

Bumblestar is leader of ShadowClan, having taken over after Slatestar’s short reign. Her daughter, Webwing, is her deputy. The medicine cat is Hornettail. The eldest warriors are Spottedcloud, Flyshade, Thrushclaw, Hatchfur, and Graceflower. The youngest warriors are Lichenpelt, Poppyclaw, Rainstorm, Leaffeather, Cloudwing, Stepfoot, and Twigfire. Cloudwing and Stepfoot are the offspring of Cedarburr and Silverdusk, and they have two deceased siblings named Littlekit and Twistkit. Cloudwing is mates with Blacktail of RiverClan. Twigfire is the son of Bayblaze. The elders are Logtail, Otterfur, and Filly. The current apprentices are Poppypaw, who’s mentor is Archshadow, Petalpaw, trained by Rainstorm, and Orangepaw, trained by Angelflame. They are the offspring of Poppyclaw and Frillsong. Frillsong is nursing another litter of she-kits, named Juniperkit and Berrykit. Lichenpelt, Poppyclaw, and Rainstorm are working with Lynxwing and Hawksting, while Leaffeather hesitates to join his siblings.

WindClan’s leader is Finstar, whose deputy is Tuliptail. The medicine cat is Shadenettle. The oldest warriors are Springjump, who’s planning on retiring, Lostholly, Brightclaw, Whitepool, and Grassflight. The youngest warriors are Duskdapple, Minnowglow, Deershade, Squirrelfeather, Creamfur, and Acornpelt. Squirrelfeather and Creamfur are the offspring of Sandytail and Weaselsnap, along with their deceased brother Tumblekit. Acornpelt is the son of Breezefleck and Grassflight. Deershade is nursing Branchtoe’s sons, Flintkit and Ryekit. The elders are Covescreech and Wildfawn. The apprentices, Stormpaw, mentored by Bubblepool, and Boulderpaw, mentored by Heatherleg, are the offspring of Swallowsong. Redpelt killed Halfheart and was exiled from WindClan, now living as a loner.

The leader of RiverClan is Tinystar, who took over after Perchstar. Lionfang is her deputy. The medicine cats are Specklespark and Rootsleet. The eldest warriors are Dewtail, Gingerleaf, Shrewheart, and Romeofeather. The youngest warriors are Kestrolfrost, Grubnose, Plumpflower, Rookclaw, Songwish, Dewysnow, and Blacktail. Blacktail is the song of Sorrelflash and Nightpath, along with his deceased sister, Birdpaw. Tawnypaw, trained by Leapordear, Olivepaw, trained by Kestrelfrost, and Quickpaw, trained by Shrewheart, are the kits of Hazebird. Songwish is the mother of Hawkkit and Coldkit. Ivyfall is an elder who is nearly deaf, while Slowriver is an elder with crushed hindlegs formerly named Runningriver.

Deadstar is currently leader of SkyClan, with Feathertuft as his deputy. The medicine cat is Foxnight. The eldest warriors are Brokenflower, Nettlefang, Shimmersun, Ashfern, and Dovesong. Lichenheart has retired into the elders’ den alongside Beebird and Tallfleck. The youngest warriors are Antspark, Sandflare, Birchwillow, and Dimfoot. Dimfoot is the son of Rustlefur. The apprentices, Wildpaw, trained by Rustlefur, and Leappaw, trained by Shimmersun, are the daughters of Sagewind. There are no kits or pregnant queens in SkyClan currently. Dimfoot works with Lynxwing and Hawksting.

SHORT LIST OF TRAITS: dignified, quiet, bitter, cunning, passionate, holds grudges, eventually develops a bloodlust

duskkit was born to two riverclan warriors and raised alongside the halfclan kit snowkit and the “rogue” kit stormkit. the three were good friends until duskkit’s mother, otterstep, gave birth to three half-thunderclan kits while duskkit was still in the nursery. obviously this caused a lot of strife between duskkit’s parents, and since otterstep’s paws were full with caring for three newborns, duskkit was given to silversplash to nurse. although the bond between him, snowkit, stormkit, and lilykit grew closer, duskkit developed a deep resentment towards his tiny half-siblings, which eventually manifested into a hatred for all half-clan cats. he’d eventually start referring to stormpaw, lilypaw and snowpaw as the “good” kind of half-clan cat, which made the other apprentices intensely uncomfortable. 

duskpaw’s mentor was his father, troutpelt, who fed into duskpaw’s prejudice as a result of his own rage towards his former mate. by the time duskdapple earned his warrior name, he held just as much, if not more, bitterness and anger as troutpelt. snowfeather, lilypool, and stormfrost all tried to reach out to him but to no avail, as he’d simply growl and turn his back. stormfrost’s parents were mothmask of shadowclan and smokestream of riverclan. his mother snuck away from camp to give birth in secret with her mate at her side, but the birth was difficult and one of the kits did not survive. it was decided between the grieving parents that one kit would go to riverclan and the other would go to shadowclan, so smokestream brought the newborn stormkit back to riverclan, pretending he’d found an abandoned rogue kit at the border. silversplash, a riverclan queen, had already lost one of her kits, so she adopted the poor “orphan” and raised him alongside her kits. smokestream was also a good father figure for stormkit, but most assumed it was because he was the one who “found” stormkit. his adopted siblings were snowkit and lilykit.

stormkit also grew close with duskkit, who was around two moons older. silversplash offered to tend to him because otterstep, duskkit’s mother, had cheated on his father with a thunderclan cat and had her paws full with raising three newborns. stormkit considered duskkit a brother, but when duskpaw was apprenticed, it became clear how much he resented his half-siblings and half-clan cats as a whole.

stormkit knew he wanted to be a medicine cat from the moment he first stepped in the medicine den, and so he was apprenticed to apollo, a former loner whose talent in healing was so great that riverclan not only allowed him to join, but also allowed him to keep his name and mate (another former loner he’d traveled with named pepper, later peppertail). stormpaw was thrilled by the opportunity, but the shadow of duskpaw’s growing hatred loomed. it didn’t help that his mentor was his furious father troutpelt, who nurtured duskpaw’s resentment into a full-blown hatred for half-clan cats. despite this hatred, duskpaw, snowpaw, stormpaw, and lilypaw still remained close, although the latter three were uncomfortable with duskpaw’s prejudice. 

stormpaw didn’t receive his full name until some time after his brothers’ warrior ceremonies. in that time, duskdapple became the youngest deputy in the clans after grayfern passed, and smokestream fell ill with an incurable illness. on his deathbed, smokestream told stormpaw the truth: that he was his father by blood, and his mother and sister were in shadowclan. stormpaw blamed himself for his father’s death and withdrew into himself. apollo named him stormfrost for his cold, guarded demeanor.

even after the truth about stormpaw’s parentage was revealed to him by smokestream, duskdapple made it clear that the three were “good” halfclan cats and thus an exception to his disdain. eventually duskstar became leader and appointed snowfeather as deputy. unbeknownst to stormfrost, duskstar secretly allied with the thunderclan leader foxstar to drive out half-clan cats and their parents. silversplash, mothmask, and tawnyclaw had all vanished without a trace. stormfrost was most worried about silversplash, but he couldn’t help but fear for his estranged biological family as well.

starclan sent snowfeather and stormfrost, along with cats from the other four clans, on a journey to retrieve their lost clanmates. starclan specifically chose stormfrost because they knew he would be able to heal the exiles, even if he didn’t know it himself. he was prickly at best with everyone but especially found lightningclaw of skyclan insufferable. the two bickered and bitched the entire mission, but the more they talked, the more they realized how much they understood each other. by the time they returned home, they were close friends, and perhaps even something more.

unfortunately for lightningclaw, stormfrost was also in love with willowleaf, the young and pretty medicine cat from skyclan. sadly she didn’t return his feelings and never even knew how hard young stormfrost was crushing. one day, stormfrost offered her help with herb-gathering and planned to use their alone time to confess; however, this plan went horribly wrong. they had accidentally gotten too close to a fox den, and poor willowleaf was caught in its jaws. she yowled for stormfrost to run, and in his panic he obeyed, running as fast as he could back to the skyclan camp. by the time he returned with a patrol of warriors, it was too late. willowleaf was dead, and skyclan had no medicine cat.

stricken with grief, guilt, and shame, stormfrost felt more lost than he ever had. duskstar had shunned him and snowfeather and hinted that he planned to “take care” of the two. the black and white tom could take no more of this, resolving to do the only thing he believed he could to make it up to willowleaf. one quiet night, he informed snowfeather that he was leaving to join skyclan and he wasn’t coming back. snowfeather pleaded with him not to go, but stormfrost hardened himself and turned away, snapping at his brother to “open your eyes before you let duskstar destroy riverclan.”

jaystar of skyclan was unsure what to do when the riverclan medicine cat showed up again in her camp so soon after willowleaf’s death, and there was considerable debate in the clan. among the loudest of voices in support of stormfrost was lightningclaw, the newly appointed clan deputy, and so it was decided that stormfrost would be allowed to join skyclan permanently and take willowleaf’s place. (wip)

snowfeather was born to a riverclan queen and a windclan tom. snowkit's mother, silversplash, adopted smokestream’s son stormkit after one of her kits passed away, despite the clan wondering who his birth mother might be. the two (along with snowkit's sister lilykit) became close friends with duskkit. however, a few moons after duskkit was born, duskkit's mother (otterstep) gave birth to three half-thunderclan kits. otterstep's paws were full with raising three newborns, so duskkit was given to silversplash to nurse. although he considered snowkit and stormkit (two halfclan cats) brothers, he harbored a deep resentment towards his tiny siblings. it didn't help that his mentor was his furious father troutpelt, who nurtured duskpaw's resentment into a full-blown hatred for half-clan cats. 

despite this hatred, duskpaw, snowpaw, stormpaw, and lilypaw still remained close, although the latter three were uncomfortable with duskpaw's prejudice. even after the truth about stormpaw’s parentage came out, duskdapple made it clear that the three were "good" halfclan cats and thus an exception to his disdain. eventually duskstar became leader and appointed snowfeather as deputy, but snowfeather could not trust what his dear brother was becoming. snowfeather loved all of his siblings dearly, but no matter how much he tried to convince himself that duskstar was still a good cat, duskstar's rage grew out of control. unbeknownst to snowfeather, he secretly allied with the thunderclan leader foxstar to drive out all half-clan and non-clanborn cats.

despite the turbulent times he lived in, snowfeather grew close to mothstrike, a former loner who had been brought to riverclan as a kit by his adoptive parents, apollo and peppertail. they bonded over their shared troubles, with mothstrike’s bold and adventurous personality balancing with snowfeather’s laidback and peaceful attitude. mothstrike was always there to remind snowfeather to rest as he stressed over his deputy duties, and snowfeather was sure to keep the golden-furred warrior out of trouble. it was no surprise to the rest of the clan when the two became mates.

cats from all five clans began to disappear and/or die in mysterious ways--the only connection between each missing warrior was the fact that they were either half-clan or had half-clan kits. silversplash, his mother, had been driven from the territories, while snakestep, his father, had been led astray during a blizzard and left to die in the cold. snakestep had always been distant, but it would have been a lie to say snowfeather didn’t mourn him. even though he refused to believe duskstar was involved, he realized something had to be done, which his ancestors recognized.

starclan sent snowfeather and stormfrost, along with cats from the other four clans, on a journey to retrieve their lost clanmates, and snowfeather formed close bonds with all of these cats, especially crowflight of thunderclan. however, not all was at peace. duskstar had stripped snowfeather of his deputy role and was extraordinarily hostile towards him and stormfrost, the cats he'd once seen as brothers. 

 at a time when snowfeather was most vulnerable, skyclan's only medicine cat, willowleaf died without an apprentice. stormfrost left riverclan to fill that role, partly because he was terrified of duskstar and partly because he had been in love with her. this broke snowfeather's heart, and that crack only widened when the time finally came to end this tyranny. when duskstar killed his beloved mothstrike in the battle of the code, snowfeather took one of duskstar's lives, where starclan then proceeded to strip him of the remaining eight as punishment. duskdapple was cast out of the clans, and reluctantly, snowfeather stepped up as the rightful deputy and leader of riverclan. his heart had been broken many times over, but at least riverclan was now safe.

snowstar remained close with crowstar as the two leaders chosen by starclan, working together to rebuild both thunderclan and riverclan and even being a shoulder for crowstar to lean on as she struggled with her faith in starclan. seeing lightningstar, sootstar, and maplestar ascend to leadership pleased him, becoming closer friends with lightningstar during this time. however, he remained neutral in the war between shadowclan and windclan (as did lightningstar and crowstar, but unlike skyclan and thunderclan, he didn’t vocally express support for either side). it hurt to see sootstar, a cat who had once been his friend, die in a battle against her own mate, offering condolences and emotional support to maplestar.

snowstar led riverclan peacefully for many, many moons, being the second of the five journey leaders to die. he lost his ninth life by catching greencough while helping the overwhelmed medicine cat gather herbs for the bout of sickness sweeping through the clan. his nephew, reedfang, succeeded him as leader, and snowstar gifted him a life for friendship beyond clan borders. he was thrilled to see sootstar brought home from the dark forest, and continued to watch over his beloved riverclan for moons to come.

for some reason i had tawnyclaw and stormfrost’s parents listed as both being shadowclan cats. sorry, that’s a mistake (and a pretty big one story-wise). smokestream (their father) is riverclan, so those two are half-shadowclan, half-riverclan. 

i’m working on putting together a second set of allegiances that shows what the clans were like at the time the protagonists were born, alongside a list of noteworthy starclan/ghost/dark forest cats.

i’ve also got a map part featuring snowfeather, duskdapple, and stormfrost in the works so i’ll be posting that soon! ^^
