Rings of Power Thanksgiving Headcanons

Durin is 100% deep frying a turkey and he absolutely starts a small fire. Disa tried to tell him it was a bad idea but he thought it would be cool.

Thanksgiving is the most Harfoot-coded holiday out there. They’re going crazy. Biggest feast you’ve ever seen. Piles of roasted seasonal produce. It’s Gandalf’s first Thanksgiving and it’s his new favorite holiday. Everyone gets tipsy and they all dance.

Galadriel tries to host a traditional dinner. It goes horribly. She was not prepared to cook so many dishes at the same time and half of them are burnt. Elrond knew this would happen and brought lots of food when he shows up two hours early to help. Gil-Galad is late and is mainly there for the wine and bickering. He likes winning arguments. Celebrimbor shows up with a dessert that looks like it belongs in a French patisserie. No one knows when he had the time to learn how to bake like that. Adar and Arondir feel very out of place (it’s their first thanksgiving with this insane family) and they go on a “cousin walk” together after the meal (they smoke a joint).

Elendil orders tamales for dinner. He knows better than to attempt cooking. None of kids can cook and he’s a disaster in the kitchen. He is very awkward when he invites Miriel over but she comes anyway. None of the kids knew she was coming and they def give each other some looks.

The tournament begins Nov 28 with the contestants' first challenge -- we will vote in polls for the winner of Top Dish who will receive the coveted Immunity Ring and be granted safety for the next round, and the loser with the Worst Dish who will be eliminated from the competition. Stay tuned!
