so something i was actually really hoping for going in to the finale was that annatar/sauron would shed at least one single, cinematic tear during celebrimbor's final scene. i wanted to see some raw, real emotion from him for once now that the angelic mask has truly fallen away. and boy were my expectations blown out of the water

allegedly it was something that spontaneously happened and it wasn't scripted. i never thought that the death scene of my most favourite character this season would actually be one of the best and most powerful scenes in the entire show to date, but for a multitude of reasons, it is.

One thing I'm looking for at s2ep8 is that Galadriel will be dirty and Annatar will be tidy. Great contrasting last season when she was flawless even after battle while Halbrand was dirty

No thoughts just fixating on the fact that after Eregion has been destroyed and Mairon took the Nine and he had the orcs on his side, he doesn't think of Galadriel, he stands in the sunlight holding Feanor's hammer, which is the last thing he has left of Celebribor.

Also; he didn't cry when he thought Galadriel was dead, but he literally teared up when Celebrimbor was heaving his last breath and after he died.

Well, apparently, I did get my bingo card right…

They really went with the Marvel bullshit, and with some of the most cringeworthy dialogue I've seen in a while.

As I’ve predicted on my speculation post for 2x08, Sauron and Galadriel’s scenes could be a major anticlimactic letdown, and that’s what happened. I did advise shippers to go into the finale without expectations, and I was correct.  

Again, I was correct in theorizing that Galadriel scene with Celebrimbor in 2x07 could mean she has found resolve and would outright resist Sauron. 

I was also right with the “anticlimactic let-down" scenario I laid on that post: they would fight, Sauron would bombard Galadriel with visions and he would retrieve the Nine by force. And all the foreshadowing throughout the season turned out to be red herrings. Except for the title of the OST (“Last temptation”), because Galadriel closed the door on Sauron, and "Fall of Galadriel" was literally the track for her falling down a f*cking cliff. And in the end, Sauron takes the Nine and leaves Galadriel for dead/badly injured. And he wounds her with Morgoth’s crown as I’ve also predicted.
