🐌 do they carry their home with them or is it a place?

crash: if you ask crash where his home is, he's gonna say the matthews family house— though it's a combination of both the place and the people for him

dark urge!etienne: etienne's a gloom stalker ranger, so he considers his home to be wherever he is at the moment. prior to ending up in baldurs gate, he wandered for a very long time and thus never really laid down any roots.

🎲 are they lucky?

crash: incredibly so. he's been born into a pretty goddamn privileged position and has been able to fuck around a lot because of it. he actively acknowledges that the only reason hes gotten any of the success he has in his life is because he was born in the right place at the right time.

etienne: only because i have the ability to save scum his rolls until i get the result i want. listen i respect dice rolls for roleplaying purposes irl, but in a viddy game? i am god here, and i make etienne's luck for him.

🌫️ how does this character feel about lying?

crash: depends on the context, but usually he feels guilty about having to tell big lies. he doesnt mind maintaining kayfabe when needed, but he dislikes not being able to be honest with his coworkers during his initial elweewee run

etienne: gaslight gatekeep gloomstalk. he loves making shit up and putting on little shows to get himself into places he very much shouldnt be. its part of what made him so effective when he was working alongside gortash, and continues to help him out as he walks down his path to redemption and chooses to betray bhaal

4. How do they react to the Player Character letting Abdirak whip them?

Kaine thinks it's funny. like. SO funny. they are laughing At you and they make sure you know it. they have no feelings either way about the act itself, they're a little unsettled by abdirak, but the fact that Tav has gone through with it, and is putting on such a show for everyone - it's insane, right? of course, kaine "tries anything once" silva ALSO goes through with it in their campaign, so they're just being hypocritical.

Etienne is unamused. in fact, he's irritated. he's only here to try and keep you alive, and you're going to let some unhinged freak take a mace to your skin while we're surrounded by goblins? he's seriously rethinking his decisionmaking skills at this point snzjns

Kit is more or less concerned, poor guy. he's blushing a little at the overt horny undertones to the whole thing, but not really out of attraction to either abdirak or Tav (unless?), moreso just that he's a middle-aged folk hero forge cleric and he doesn't really know how to process the scene sjkssd. he's offering healing right away

Max is delighted. he's a performer, an entertainer, and he's especially enamored with a Tav who talks back to abdirak while it's happening. he has little experience in this realm specifically, but he's a quick learner!!

and yeah when i was doing it with max shadowheart was. on board to say the least

i haven't gotten to any of the meaty bits of the durge/astarion romance yet, but even with still being in act 1, this shit is so good. because etienne is just here for a good time. he is your classic always down to clown bard. and there's astarion, with his over the top pick up lines and clearly fake flirtations, and etienne is living for it. one thing he didn't lose with his memories is his flair for the dramatic, so it's just the two of them disgusting the other party members with ever increasingly sappy pet names and over the top schmoop. they're having a good time! and the thing is, etienne doesn't understand why astarion is doing this. he thinks astarion is a kindred spirit who is just here for chaos and good sex. he thinks they're both just shallow, beautiful people, and why shouldn't two shallow, beautiful people have good sex, right?

but then the guy at the inn. the inn on fire, the guy screaming for help. his dead wife on the ground. etienne can't figure out why it makes him feel so...hollow. he thinks about it for a long time afterwards, just the way that guy sobs over his dead wife's body. he obviously can't remember caring about anyone that much. he thinks about the people he's killed and wonders if they had people who cried over them that way. if he's the cause of that much heartbreak in someone.

then he thinks about astarion and realizes that yeah. if something happened to him, he'd be pretty devastated. and he has to wonder if astarion would feel the same way. or if it would just be part of the farce.

he has to wonder if anyone would weep for him if it came down to it. or if everything in his life is just a superficial game.
