Walking Mushroom Propaganda

While there's no shortage of magnificent mycoflora competing in this tournament, one funny little guy I'm particularly rooting for is the Walking Mushroom from Ryoko Kui's Delicious in Dungeon/Dungeon Meshi. Maybe you, the reader, might be prepared to root for them too?

What are the Walking Mushrooms?

Delicious in Dungeon is a Manga series set in an expansive magical dungeon that's treated like an isolated ecosystem made up of a variety of monsters inspired by both folklore and dungeon-crawling RPGs, but all described in a semi-realistic way with attention being paid to their anatomy, behaviour and ecology. Near the bottom of this ecosystem are the Walking Mushrooms, which in-universe is apparently a blanket term to describe several species of mushroom monsters that have developed leg-like protrusions, allowing them to wander around the dungeon spreading their spores. Like the mushrooms of real fungi, they differ considerably in their appearance and reproductive methods:

Why should you vote for the Walking Mushrooms?

-They are little small mushrooms with EVEN SMALLER mushrooms for feet.

-They are CANONICALLY pathetic little guys. Just look at them:

HEAD CANON: What if walking mushrooms sat on decaying corpses to get their nutrients. A useful tactic when they roam dungeon areas that aren't their typical environments and can't provide them food so this is how they adapt 👀 hufhufhfuf

Honestly, even though I was rooting for the Walking Mushrooms to win I feel honoured that they got to go down fighting as part of the legendary Toad-Berry saga.

Walking mushrooms are very fun little guys, and I hope the Toad Berry crowd takes this as a chance to appreciate them!
