Bring Me the Heart of Snow White Pt. 4b
Playing to Win
Vivienne Masterpost First: An Alchemical Formula Previous: A More Innocent Time
Vivienne walks through the main hall of Skyhold with a couple of Orlesian nobles.
Marcelline: I expected ruins.
Vivienne: They were. As you see, the Inquisition has not been idle.
Laurent: Would it be possible to meet the Herald before we return to Ghislain?
Vivienne: My dear Laurent. For you, anything.
She waves the PC over from where they were talking with Josephine.
Vivienne: Allow me to present Inquisitor (Trevelyan/Adaar/Lavellan/Cadash).
Laurent: Your Worship, you do us great honor.
Vivienne: Inquisitor, this is my dear Bastien’s sister, Grand Cleric Marcelline. And his son, Duke Laurent of the Council of Heralds.
Marcelline: I owe you an apology, Inquisitor. I did not trust your motives at first. I am afraid I misjudged you terribly.
Laurent: Madame de Fer speaks very highly of your character. It is a great relief to know the Inquisition is in your hands.
Dialogue options:
General: Glad you changed your minds. [1]
General: Vivienne said that? [2]
General: That’s good. [3]
1 - General: Glad you changed your minds. PC: It’s good to hear you changed your minds. Marcelline: Many of my sister clerics feared the Inquisition. We did not know if you worked for good or ill. So too must Andraste’s disciples have felt when they first beheld the Maker’s wrath against Tevinter.
2 - General: Vivienne said that? PC: Vivienne speaks highly of me? I hardly expected that. Marcelline: She speaks of nothing but you and your holy work. It has been most inspiring to hear.
3 - General: That’s good. PC: Glad to hear it. Marcelline: Now, in our darkest hour, Andraste reminds us that wisdom is gained by learning from our mistakes.
4 - Scene continues.
Vivienne: Would you mind waiting for me in the chapel, my dears? The Inquisitor and I have business to discuss.
Laurent: It has been our very great pleasure, Herald.
They leave the PC and Vivienne to talk.
Vivienne: So, you’ve met the family now. And made a good impression in spite of yourself. Well done.
Dialogue options:
Surprised: You spoke highly of me? [5]
Confused: What was that all about? [6]
Angry: You’re scheming. [7] -Vivienne slightly disapproves
Stoic: What are you after? [8]
5 - Surprised: You spoke highly of me? PC: Wait, you talked them into supporting the Inquisition? Vivienne: Of course I did, my dear. [9]
6 - Confused: What was that all about? PC: I don’t understand. What just happened here? Vivienne: A victory. My victory. [9]
7 - Angry: You’re scheming. PC: Whatever you’re planning, I want no part in it. Vivienne: Oh, you’ve already played your part, darling. [9]
8 - Stoic: What are you after? PC: What is it you want, Vivienne? Vivienne: Nothing, my dear. I already have what I wanted. [9]
9 - Scene continues.
Vivienne: Properly worded, the righteous cause of the Inquisition can be used to great effect with my Bastien’s deeply pious relations. With Bastien’s loss, I have connections to the Council of Heralds and the highest levels of the Chantry. All thanks to you.
Dialogue options:
General: Things worked out, then. [10] +Vivienne slightly approves
General: You always get what you want. [11] -Vivienne slightly disapproves
General: You used me. [12] -Vivienne slightly disapproves
10 - General: Things worked out, then. PC: Well, at least everything’s worked out for you in the end. Vivienne: So it has. And well arranged, if I do say so myself. [13]
11 - General: You always get what you want. PC: You always get what you want, don’t you? No matter who you have to step over. Vivienne: Of course I do, Inquisitor. I play the Game to win. [13]
12 - General: You used me. PC: You used my position as Herald of Andraste to further your personal goals. Vivienne: Of course I did, my dear. That’s the Game. [13]
13 - Scene continues.
Vivienne: Well, I can’t keep Marcelline and Laurent waiting. Thank you so much for your cooperation, Inquisitor. I could never have done this without your help.
Scene ends.

List of all of my Dragon Age OCs (so far)
Amell
- Nathaniel Amell
A Chancellor and King Alistair's trusted Advisor, Amell was a Warden and one of the key members in stopping the 5th Blight. Before he was a warden, he was a part of Kinloch circle Mages.
- Sean Amell
One of Warden Amell's siblings, Sean is apart of Ostwick Circle mages, separated from his siblings at the age of 7 when his magical capabilities start appearing. His peers viewed him as a blunt, apathetic and cold fellow, although a templar might have trying to cover his 'mistakes' for years. Sean died at the year of 9:34 due to health complications, although people guessed it was from something else.
Surana
- Vasha Surana
The Hero of Fereldan and Commander to the Fereldan Grey Wardens. She was from the same circle as Warden Amell, and consider him a family. 2 years after the attack on the Warden's Keep, there are no reports of where Commander last seen, the Inquisition (and some others) however have received news of her whereabouts.
Lavellan
- Willow Lavellan
The Inquisitor and Herald of Andraste, she was one of the Lavellan clan's huntress, although leans more towards the Clan's errand girl that dealt with the humans more. When the Inquisition disbanded, she returned to the Free Marches. There are rumours of people seeing her in the Edalvin state often with a young child in the Duke's castle garden.
- William Jameson
William is the current Duke of Edalvin in the Free Marches, the grandson of the late Duke Vark Pierceson. William is the sole survivor of an Assassination of the Royal family from a coup by the late Duke's right hand. With the help of the Inquisition, he could claim the throne. Rumours has it that the Duke and the Inquisitor are half-siblings
- Rhys The First
Rhys is the heir of Duke William, many noble doubted the young boy's legitimacy as the heir, the councils however are quite, it seemed that they had no problem with it.
Rhys is the son of the Inquisitor, whom lived mostly with the clan. Nobody knew of the father, but some people might have ideas.
Trevelyan
- Maxson Trevelyan
Maxson is the eldest son of Bann Trevelyan, although him being a mage forfeit his status as the next head of the family. He is apart of Wycome's Circle, and one of the Knight Enchanters. During the Mage Rebellion, he lead a group of Mages and Templars to hide from the chaos, eventually came to Skyhold to help with the Inquisition. After it disbanded, he moved to Fereldan with an Ex Carta in Denerim.
- Sophie Trevelyan
Second child of the Bann, Sophie is the sole heir to the head of the family as the only one who is capable to be so. Their father tried to separate the siblings from each other, but she found ways to keep in contact with her siblings and help as much as she could.
-Matthew Trevelyan
The third child of the Bann, originally he was planed to be the next Head of the family, but due to him being a trouble maker and promiscuous, his father sent him to the chantry to train as a templar. Although that made him worse and instead, resentful towards his family.
Cadash
- Evan Cadash
After being exiled due to trivial matters from Orzammar, Evan spend most of his time on the surface as a Carta. He thought he is fit with this crime family job, although that changed when he decided to save a human mage and ending up tagging along with this human and the group he leads.

For @suck-tember Day 15: Choke
This is mildly cursed and a little crack-fic-y. SorryNotSorry?
~~~
"Anora, dear, this is a terrible idea," he protested.
"Nonsense, Father, it's a perfect gesture of goodwill.” The queen of Ferelden grinned wolfishly. “The Hero of the River Dane greeting Orlesian dignitaries? They'll be falling over themselves at the insult but won’t be able to say a damn thing because you’re royalty."
Loghain looked at Cailan, then sighed: he'd find no support in the man wrapped around his daughter's finger. "Fine, but I want it made clear that I am not in favor of this."
"As long as you do it, I don't care what you think, Father."
~~~13 years later~~~
"Loghain? Loghain Mac Tir?" Gaspard de Chalons exclaimed. He glanced between the Warden and the Inquisitor in shock. "You have any idea what a stir you're going to cause?"
The dwarf crossed her arms. "No more than I will on my own. He's useful."
You remind me of my daughter, he thought to himself, and not for the first time. Malika Cadash was ruthless once she had a goal in mind, and didn’t care who or what she ran over or broke if they got in her way.
The Grand Duke stared at Loghain a few moments longer than was strictly necessary, then licked his lips. “I suppose that’s true.”
Damn him, he remembered.
Two men past their prime, sitting in a nondescript inn in a no-name town in Edgehall, pretending not to resent that they’d been sent by their own family to prance and peacock at each other as a show of might. After the rest of the courtiers and ensemble had finished all their pomp and pageantry, they ended up in the barn, rolling around in the hay in what was definitely not a misguided drunken attempt to finally conquer the country that had caused them so much aggravation.
Loghain almost wished he’d worn a mask, but the thought of even pretending for a moment he was Orlesian made the bile rise in his throat. Being in the Wardens hadn’t lessened his disgust for the empire in the slightest, even if it had forced him to hide it better, but there were limits. “Can we get this over with?” he asked gruffly.
Malika arched an eyebrow at him, as if to say, Is this going to be a problem?
He shook his head slightly. Not for the Inquisition, at least. He followed as Gaspard escorted her inside, then slipped away through the crowd. The last thing he wanted was his presence to be announced at the ball. Some puffed up drunk prick deciding to avenge the insult to his country from forty years ago and ending up with his throat slit over the punch bowl was not a good look.
He skirted his way around the edge of the ballroom to the terrace, grabbing a glass of wine off of a passing tray. Avoiding lavish parties like this had been one of the best things about becoming a Grey Warden, and he already needed air.
“Mac Tir.”
He spun around. “De Chalons.” Smug bastard. “It’s been some time.”
“Ah, so you do remember?” Gaspard tapped a finger against his lips and smirked.
Loghain drained his wine and put the glass down on the table very carefully. It would call attention to himself if he broke it. “Don’t push me, Gaspard.”
“Or what?” the other man laughed. “My cousin might appreciate my death, but your Herald is here on my invitation.”
The Warden shook his head and started to go back inside. Noblemen, and this one in particular, made his head hurt.
Gaspard caught his arm. “I asked you a question.”
Loghain started moving as soon he felt the touch, turning to grab his throat and press him against the wall. Hopefully out of sight from the rest of the ball. “Or I’ll do it again, you Orlesian prick,” he growled, loosening his grip enough that Gaspard could breathe.
The chevalier coughed, almost delicately, then cocked his head. “Celene’s address isn’t for another hour.”

2. a letter written by your OC’s family member OR 6. someone describing a time your OC helped them OR 4. a letter from your OC to their love interest. FOR Panna Cadash! :)
How about ALL.
2. A letter written by your OC’s family member
Dearest Panna,
We were so glad to hear of your survival after the horrible news of the Divine Conclave’s destruction; we had sent out for news of any survivors after we heard of the explosion. Imagine our shock to learn that not only were you alive, you were leading the Inquisition we have heard so much about! We are so proud to see you take up a leadership position.
We offer House Cadash’s resources and people to the Inquisition’s service, and I offer myself as a more immediate advisor, should you need me. Call us to Skyhold, and we shall come, little one. Maker knows you must be overwhelmed by the responsibilities and danger that come with leading.
Your baby sister Thrumma thrives. Such a healthy, strong little girl! I will give her your sisterly love.
With love and support, Mother
-- a letter crumpled up in the corner of Inquisitor Cadash’s bedroom, as if balled up and thrown.
--
6. Someone describing a time your OC helped them
“No, you want to know a real story? None of you were even born yet when Mum shouted down her mum in the middle of Skyhold.”
“I was.”
“You weren’t there, Desh, hush up. Anyway, first few months of my life, Mum’s mum raised me. Pretended I was hers. Jealous of Mum, or mad at her, or something. But she heard that hey, Mum’s leading this big, powerful organization now! And being a scheming Carta Head Bitch In Charge, Mum’s mum wants in. So she heads to Skyhold. Whole family in tow. Me in her arms as emotional leverage or something. Tried to get Mum to let them stay and worm their way into the Inquisition.”
“Knowing Aunt Panna, she--”
“She gave them a flat no, and when they tried to attack, she personally knocked ‘em the fuck back and told them to get the fuck outta her fortress. And to leave me. And that’s how I got my mum back.”
-- an overheard conversation between Zanor Cadash, Deshanna Pavus, Ataashi Adaar, and other children of the four Inquisitors, at a “family reunion” in Kirkwall
--
4. A letter from your OC to their love interest
Storyteller,
Have I ever got one for you. Zanor took her first steps -- on Cullen’s desk. Promptly fell down -- don’t worry, he caught her -- knocking papers and ink flying everywhere. Came up from it all grinning, ink all over her face and a drafted letter to the Grand Duke stuck to her cheek. I haven’t laughed that hard in ages. Cullen didn’t think it was so funny at first, but when Halla walked in to find him scolding a messy baby he was holding up in front of his face, she just about fell over laughing, and he finally shifted the stick up his arse to laugh too. Zan just has that effect on people. Maker, is it nice to see that my kid can do that. She’s endeared herself to everyone. I found Halla singing to her a few days ago.
Keeping your last letter with me. Need to read something nice sometimes after a grim war council. At least I have Zan to keep me company while you’re gone. Miss you dearly, though. Tell Saraan I said to bring you and herself back soon.
Love, She-Bear
-- a letter from Inquisitor Panna Cadash at Skyhold to Varric Tethras at the Inquisition camp in the Emerald Graves.

Some more OCs who haven’t gotten the creative love from me.
Ophelia Filius [Aishwarya Rai]
A former Tevinter altus of the city of Ventus, and current acting-Warden-Commander of Ferelden. A powerful necromancer who studied with the Mortalitasi, Ophelia works to recruit Fereldan Wardens in order to boost the numbers from the deficit caused during the Blight. She takes over while Reyn Caron searches for the cure to the Taint. Headstrong and clever, Ophelia has no desire to see Tevinter succeed, and denounces the practice of slavery, having realized its despicable nature after her own brother was sold into slavery against his will and experimented on by a magister. Ophelia is currently attempting to redefine the between-Blight Grey Wardens as a force for assisting the common good, protecting roads and helping the oppressed, and is willing to march on Weisshaupt with her fellow Wardens if the Order needs to be... cleansed of Corypheus’ influence.
Oly Aeducan [Jason Momoa]
A dwarf prince, disgraced by his brother’s murder and then exalted as a Paragon for his role in ending the Fifth Blight. He takes advantage of the dwarven resilience to lyrium to grant himself Templar powers, carefully rationing himself to ensure he does not become addicted. Husband of Skadi Brosca. He sets up permanent residence in Ferelden, near his friend King Alistair. A surprisingly skilled painter. He is a total pushover when it comes to his son with Skadi, Duncan Aeducan.
Skadi Brosca [Shantel VanSanten]
A former fixer for an Orzammar crime lord and the sister of a noble hunter (and the current wife of King Bhelen Aeducan), Skadi is intelligent, humble, and a vicious fighter. She’s generally a nice person, considering her occupation, but has a worryingly lax attitude towards crime. Do NOT play her at chess. Or Wicked Grace. Or Diamondback. Don’t play games with her. You will not win. She is the only dwarf in history to reject the title of Paragon in favor of remaining Casteless.
Konrad Cadash [Chris Evans]
An ex-Carta bruiser, he also was once a boxer in an underground fighting ring (sometimes literally; the Carta would send him to fighting Orzammar dwarves in prize fights. Was technically adopted by Oly Aeducan and Skadi Brosca. Has been taught some Legion of the Dead fighting style. He actually prefers the surface to Orzammar, and once killed a troll on his own. Becomes Leliana’s aide during Inquisition, and stays on as part of the spy network after Tash steps down.
Riona Mac Tir [Rachel Weisz]
Bastard mage daughter of Loghain and older half-sister to Anora. Senior Enchanter of Kinloch Hold and current Regent of Gwaren Teyrnir. Riona adapted the physical focusing movements taught to mages in Kinloch into a martial art not requiring magic, and later developed its use with folding fans. Traveling with the Hero of Ferelden after Broken Circle, Riona became friends with Alistair due to them both being bastards and sharing a dislike of her father. She is Ferelden’s answer to Madame de Fer, and acts as Tash’s escort to Halamshiral. She loves dogs, like many Fereldans, and owns a Mabari hound named Aofie.
Basile and Sylvie de Serault [Chris Hemsworth and Kathryn Newton]
The former Marquis of Serault and his sister, Basile and Sylvie are Orlesian nobles of the disgraced Serault, home to the Shame, a maleficar of note who passed some of his powers down to them, imbuing them with latent magical abilities, although not enough to consider them mages. Basile is a bookish and slightly shy man who would rather not be a ruler, but dutifully accepts and excels in the role as keeper of Ylenn Basin when Duke Tash is elsewhere. He loves his studies, and is no slouch in combat, although he only ever fights as a last resort. Once had a fling with the Prince of the Forest and is actually well-versed in glass-making. Sylvie is an adventurous and slightly boisterous young woman who enjoys hunting and exploring. She hates having to conform at court and enjoys her role as Lady Protector of Ylenn Basin. She has a custom made Serault weapon, a knife made of Serault glass attached to a fine chain, that she can whirl through the air nigh-invisibly, with deadly accuracy.

💕 + 🍬 for Bronlynn Cadash!
Thank you!!😌
💕 for a love headcanon
Bron is a very straight forward person, you'll know exactly when she's content or downright furious.
But with love.... it's very hard to read her. She doesnt...know how to act soft and traditional ways of showing her affection.
Bronlynn, when she is in love, she fights 10x harder, she almost, if possible, becomes much stronger. She wants to be able to come home and see the love of her life, not leave them alone- mourning.
She rarely shows softness in public, she prefers keeping up her rigid, cold facade- make sure her enemies cannot find a kink in her armor.
But behind closed doors, she becomes very doting, very soft hearted and incredibly gentle. She is almost unrecognizable.
🍬 for a family headcanon
Well, Bron isn't close with her blood family at all, the Aeducans proved they're just as blood thirsty and ambitious as the rest, not caring if their own flesh and blood is a casualty in their rise to power.
Now, the Cadash clan. They're very, very family oriented. They look out for each other, make sure everyone is alive and well. No one gets left behind.
Those of clan Cadash looooove their stories, and every night, in their stronghold
The older members gather everyone and will go into the night with drink and dramatic storytelling.
Everyone from clan Cadash has a story for nearly everything.
Say something about some duke in Orlais, sure enough some dwarf has a story regarding them.

Bring Me the Heart of Snow White Pt. 4a
Something For You
Vivienne Masterpost First: An Alchemical Formula Previous: A More Innocent Time
Vivienne walks through the main hall of Skyhold with a couple of Orlesian nobles.
Marcelline: Madame de Fer has told us what great trials you faced, trying to save my poor brother’s life.
Laurent: The Maker called my father to His side. It was valiant of you to champion him in his final hours.
Dialogue options:
General: I wish I’d done more. [1] +Vivienne slightly approves
General: It was just a wyvern. [2]
General: Tell me what you’ve heard. [3] +Vivienne slightly approves
1 - General: I wish I’d done more. PC: If only I’d been able to save Bastien. Marcelline: The Circle of Magi told Bastien many years ago that his illness was incurable. It was simply his time. [4]
2 - General: It was just a wyvern. PC: All I did was kill a wyvern. Laurent: Truly, you are too humble, Inquisitor. My family is deeply grateful for your efforts. [4]
3 - General: Tell me what you’ve heard. PC: I’m curious, what has Vivienne told you of my part in the affair? Laurent: She said you faced down the most dangerous of all wyverns in a desperate bid to save Father’s life. [4]
4 - Scene continues.
Vivienne: Would you mind waiting for me in the chapel, my dears? The Inquisitor and I have business to discuss.
Laurent: It has been our very great pleasure, Herald.
They leave the PC and Vivienne to talk.
Vivienne: This has been quite the triumph, hasn’t it? They just adore you.
Dialogue options:
Pleased: They seem very nice. [5] +Vivienne slightly approves
Surprised: You told them about me? [6]
Confused: How was this a triumph? [7] -Vivienne slightly disapproves
Stoic: Why are they here? [8]
5 - Pleased: They seem very nice. PC: Duke Bastien’s family seem quite pleasant. Vivienne: Ordinarily, I would’ve warned you that Marcelline has the temper of a hungry vulture. But she’s quite taken with you. [9]
6 - Surprised: You told them about me? PC: I can’t believe you told them about the snowy wyvern. Vivienne: Of course, my dear. Bastien’s death was a great loss. A dash of heroics was just what they needed. [9]
7 - Confused: How was this a triumph? PC: We failed to save Bastien, and you’re showing his grieving relatives around Skyhold. How is this a triumph? Vivienne: We did all we could for my darling Bastien, and the family knows that. [9]
8 - Stoic: Why are they here? PC: So why exactly are they here? Vivienne: They asked to see Skyhold. I could hardly refuse. [9]
9 - Scene continues.
Vivienne: Laurent is a dear. Almost as pious as his aunt, and new to a seat of great power in the empire. And Marcelline is one of the strongest voices among the grand clerics. Now they will both come to us for advice. The Inquisition is truly a power now, and there’s no telling how far its influence will reach. But enough of this talk. Here. I have something for you. I commissioned this ring from the Formari—the greatest enchanters in all Thedas—for you.
She hands the PC a ring.
Dialogue options:
General: Thank you. [10] +Vivienne slightly approves
General: There has to be a catch. [11] +Vivienne approves
General: I have lots of rings. [12] -Vivienne slightly disapproves
10 - General: Thank you. PC: This is a generous gift. Thank you, Vivienne. [13]
11 - General: There has to be a catch. PC: And what comes attached to this ring, may I ask? Vivienne: The friendship of all the Circle, should you need it. [13]
12 - General: I have lots of rings. PC: I have enchanted rings. I don’t need another one. Vivienne: You don’t have one like this, my dear. [13]
13 - Scene continues.
Vivienne: Once, it was customary for the Circles to craft enchantments for their staunchest friends and allies. And you have been both. I must go see to my guests now. Another time, darling.
Scene ends.

About Duke Cadash
I was “tagged” by @emerald-amidst-gold :p
Name: Duke Cadash
Alias: Herald, Inquisitor, Master Cadash (does this count?)
Gender: Male
Age: late thirties, I don't think I want to settle on a specific age (not just yet anyways); he’s a bit younger than Varric but only by a few years
Species: (surface) Dwarf
Zodiac: aquarius / aries / cancer / capricorn / gemini / leo / libra / pisces / sagittarius / scorpio / taurus / virgo / unknown
Abilities/Talents: Duke is an archer and I think he’s gonna specialize to be an artificer. Because of his background with smuggling and having to deal with all of that crap, he’s incredibly good at tracking and finding necessary things from around him in the wilderness. He’s also an absolute beast when it comes to card games, so Varric watch out.
{𝑃𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑜𝑛𝑎𝑙}
Alignment: lawful / neutral / chaotic / good / neutral / evil / true
Religion: Because his parents were cast out of Orzammar and thus Duke was born casteless and grew up as a surface dwarf, his parents still believed in the Stone and instilled this belief in him as well. He's not super into it or anything, keeps it to himself mostly and is not bothered with protecting the ideology too much. Also, working as part of the Carta taught him that it's very important to use every little piece of information/thing to your advantage, so that is why he won't denounce those who think he is the Herald because he knows that them believing it could benefit him and the Inquisition. He's only admitted that he thinks it's bullcrap to Blackwall thus far. To others he usually says that he doesn't know what he thinks.
Sins: envy / greed / gluttony / lust / pride / sloth / wrath
Virtues: charity / chastity / diligence / humility / justice / kindness / patience
Languages: Common tongue, a bit of Antivan. Idk yet
Family:
Friends: Best friends with Blackwall and Solas, will probably want to take Cole under his wing. He has growing feelings towards Cassandra but also Dorian so he is conflicted on what to do. Also has a bit of a crush on Josephine but he'll soon realize that they're not really that compatible so they'll end up as really good friends I'd say. He also gets on really well with the Iron Bull and Krem. Varric's also fine but Duke feels a bit weird about him because he finds out that Varric used to work against the Carta in Kirkwall so he feels a bit.... embarrassed about it? Just conflicted? Idk there’s something there anyways.
Sexual Orientation: heterosexual / bisexual / pansexual (panromantic) / homosexual / demisexual / asexual / unsure / other
Relationship status: single / dating / married / widowed / open relationship / divorced / not ready for dating/ (at the moment because he's just arrived at Skyhold so I'm not very far at all ╥﹏╥ )
Libido: sex god / very high / high / average / low / very low / non-existent
{𝑃ℎ𝑦𝑠𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑙}
Build: twig / bony / slender / average / athletic / curvy / chubby / obese (a thick mann)
Hair: white / blonde / brunette / red / black / other
Eyes: brown / blue (very very light though, almost grey) / green / black / other (gold)
Skin: pale / fair / olive / light brown / brown / very brown / other
Height: he’s taller than Varric so uhh like 5′ ?
Weight: unknown
Scars: The most prominent scars are on the right side of his face, basically next to the nose on the cheek and then also a bit through his right eyebrow and above it. He has smaller scars all over his body because of his previous line of work, but the biggest one is on his left thigh where he once got shot with a crossbow bolt. He took a long long time to recover and the situation was pretty dire - luckily Duke managed to pull through though. It's still painful on most days though so he has to rub numbing ointment onto it before he goes anywhere, especially exploring. He doesn’t wanna let others see it though.
Facial Features: He has a very beautiful prominent nose and freckles all over his face from spending so much time outdoors. When you look at him head-on you can see that his nose is a bit crooked (to the right) because one time he broke it, it didn’t heal properly. He has hooded eyes but they’re pretty big and very long yet sparse eyelashes. Because he’s an oldd mann he’s also got quite a share of wrinkles and since becoming the Inquisitor he has developed dark circles underneath his eyes. He also has nice luscious lips ;) Oh! And he keeps his beard very clean and groomed. Every morning (if possible) he redoes the braids in it and combs it and stuff. He’s incredibly proud of it.
Tattoos: No tattoos. Even though he respects the Stone, he's very proud to call himself a surface dwarf and to him tattoos on dwarves, especially facial ones, only belong underground.

“They’re, uh--”
“Big?”
“Yeah.”
The qunari that prowl just beyond the gates don’t even seem to notice them, which for the moment suits Tetrak just fine. The guard’s too busy glowering at a human who seems to be vying for a way in. Still, he can’t help but wonder why they’re all holed up in there. Seems a waste of a business opportunity, to him. “You think they need lyrium?” he asks.
“Are you willing to go find out?”
Thora asks the question like the answer should be ‘no,’ but he isn’t so sure. “Maybe. I mean, what’s the worst that could happen?”
“Remember when Minka asked that question?”
He shrugs. “I think he looks alright with one eye.”
She frowns, the worry lines casting shadows across her face. Across the road, the guard casts them a suspicious look as the gates open and the human slips in. He smiles in return. “Maybe,” she says, “it’s worth looking into, anyway. Someone’s bound to know something about how to do business with them, right?”
“If I know Lowtown? Yeah. Just gotta know who to ask.”

“I don’t know if I can pull that off,” Thora says for what must be the fifth time that day. Either it’s too pink, or too warm, or that piece will get sticky if it rains, or whatever other excuse she can figure out for why she can’t wear it.
Sylvi’s eyes roll to the back of her head, dropping the sketch onto the table with a sigh reserved only for siblings. “And what’s wrong with this one?”
“I’m no good in dresses.”
“And why’s that?”
“I’m, well-- I’m short.” The look she’s fixed with could wither a rose, and Thora sits up a little straighter as she goes to correct herself. “You have curves, and boobs, I’ll just... look like I’m pretending to be something I’m not.”
Sylvi leans back on her workbench, with one hand she smooths flat white velvet, idly wondering what she can make with it. If not a dress, maybe a jacket. She doesn’t say it, but Thora’s right, even if for the wrong reasons. A dress will only trip her if she gets in a fight. “Fine,” she relents, “no dress.”
“Sorry,” she tries to apologise, but Sylvi holds out her hand to stop her.
“-- Don’t. One day I’ll find a dress even you can’t say no to. ‘Til then, we’ll go with something more... business-like.” A finger presses against her lip a moment, eyes fixing Thora in their sights until an image springs to mind. “Let’s see how you feel about this one.”

“And welcome back to my little corner of the radio, I’m your host Arlof Cadash! Well folks fall has finally arrived, or if you’re posh, autumn. Yes siree, the trees are all kinds of shades today, and news is that the first leaves have already fallen from the Vhenadahl in the Old Alienage District. If you’re heading down to our famous floating Market District, be sure try some spiced rum or even our maple cider! It’s cheap around this time of year and every boat will have a pot! For those who aren’t locals, let me just dive a little bit more into this.
“The market district used to be the docks themselves, where the peninsulas would ship each other goods since the Ancient Age! But during the Storm Age we had our two walls constructed, blocking most external trade from the sea and a good hundred miles up the coast. Well the traders found out that this pretty much calmed the ocean, letting ships float from shore to shore with ease. That started our floating Market District for the western peninsula, with the more, shall we say refined, goods still sailing to the Noble and what is now called the Law District. Don’t be to frightened if someone calls it the Teyrn District though! Ostwick is known for tradition and folk round here tend to take ages to finally start calling things by their new names. Literally!
“These days, locals think of the Market District as a tourist trap, with pleasure cruises and floating stands so packed on the delta that you can just walk across the decks. Personally, I love visiting it! You get to see so many new things just walking around, Antivan Sages, Riviani Rum and Orlesian Wine. Hell, there are a couple of dwarf sailors, selling some real nice jewelry and decorative helmets, yes siree! Don’t be afraid if it rains on the water though, most ships are covered, or convert their sails to tarps in order to protect their goods. Now go on and haggle with the locals, but don’t tell ‘em Arlof sent you. We go onto global news now, and it looks like the White Spire and Chevalier Prestige had another game ending in a riot…
Cullen leaned forward, turning down the radio in Cassandra’s car. The last three days had flown by, not giving her anytime to go back to ‘The Snapdragon’. First came the official announcement that Empress Celene and her cousin the Grand Duke Gaspard, were fighting. This only escalated the fighting between the White Spire College and Chevalier Prestige, but that wasn’t what had shocked the world. What shocked them was that the Templar Force in Val Royeaux had left the city, going into the country and rooting out underaged mages in their homes and schools. The same thing had happened in Kirkwall, nearly a year ago. The White Spire was the only College left in Thedas that was exclusively for mages, but when the Chevalier Prestige was created, the rivalry between the universities began. Now the two most powerful people in Orlais were at war, and with the Empress in support of the White Spire, and the Grand Duke was a Chevalier. It left everyone in the Chantry on edge.
Then there was the outrage towards the Divine, for not interfering at all. Some reporters wanted to bring up that the Agency of Truth, how it’s Seekers weren’t doing anything to stop the fear or fighting between the Templar Forces and Enchanter Colleges. It was easier to point fingers at a lone person, rather than a shadow organisation, and it was starting to show. Cassandra tried to get into contact with Divine Justinia and even the Lord Seeker himself. Silence. Leliana was the only one to respond, telling her to find out why Ostwick was still unaffected. It put her on edge that no one would tell her why this was happening; that she had to sit and watch.
“Maker, I hope we’re not too late.” Cullen was drumming his fingers on the passenger car door, his parka finally suited for the weather.
“You said there was someone I could get in touch with about the John Doe case.” Cassandra turned left, getting off the Overseas Highway and into the Law District.
“Human male, goes by Matthew Cleaver. He said he would meet you on a ship called ‘Liquid Rush’. Don’t worry, it’s just a cafe, but they’re quite popular this time of year if Jim is to be believed.”
“And he’ll be able to explain why our John Doe had his left thumb missing?”
“Matthew works in the Lower District, helps run the library there. Apparently he helped to testify against the former Knight Commander, having records of where his Templar’s were and what they were doing. Unfortunately, Matthew was let go from the force, it was found that he had been money laundering at the Guard for years. Still, I hated to see him leave after the trials, so he’s become an informant for the Guard.
“If anyone will know who our John Doe is, and why someone didn’t want him to be identified, Matthew will.”
“What about Sergeant Cadash,” Cassandra looked around for a parking spot, Cullen silently pointed one out further down the road. “He’s not upset that I took this case off of him.”
“No, he’s relieved to be honest.” Cullen waited for Cassandra to finish parking before getting out of the car. “I think he wanted someone to take the case away from him the moment I gave it to him.”
The two walked silently, heading towards the courthouse for a press release. Cassandra had no idea what to expect; in fact the only reason she was coming along was because Cullen asked her to. The steps to the entrance were crowded with reporters, some for news, others for the radio. Cullen’s guards spotted them and let them pass the barrier to reach the front door. A reporter had spotted Cassandra, and the specialized vest she was wearing with the Seeker emblem on it. A thousand questions were shouted at her, but she ignored them, following Cullen inside.
“Mind telling me why there are so many reports for a regular press release?” Cassandra adjusted her sport’s jacket, hoping to cover her specialized vest.
“Well, Alex Trevelyan is going to be making an appearance, and First Enchanter Madame de Fer is here as well. The Templar Force has yet to choose a Knight Commander, so she’s having to represent them today.”
“I met the woman. She’s a Knight Enchanter.”
“I heard. Not everyone finds that a comforting thought. Hell, when I took office the local news went on for weeks about how the Chantry was pushing their faithful into powerful positions.”
“When did it stop, or is it still going?”
“Well,” Cullen gave a cocky smirk, “It died down when it was found that a lot of the guard that was let go had heavy ties to the Templar Force.”
They found the room, some selected reporters already seated. Cullen nodded at Cassandra and went to the front of the room to talk to Jim, his assistant. Cassandra walked towards the refreshment table, and grabbed a coffee for herself. A dwarf with red hair was making himself a green tea. He was wearing a tweed jacket and had his hair pulled back in a simple braid. He shuffled a little to the side in order to make room for her.
“Didn’t think the Seeker’s were gonna give a statement in Ostwick.” The dwarf looked up at Cassandra, his soft eyes almost innocent.
“We’re not,” Cassandra added one sugar to her coffee, taking a sip and grimaced. The dwarf chuckled and handed her some creamer
“Name’s Arlof.” he said, puffing his chest out a little. “Got a little radio show in town, you might have heard it a little.”
“I have,” Cassandra tried to not to sound shocked. “I thought you were on the air right now.”
“Ah, just a little trick in the business see. I record about an hour before it goes on the airwaves. That way my listeners get their tunes in and when I come back, I’ve got all the good stuff to tell ‘em.” Arlof beamed, grabbing one of the dry muffins on the stand.
Cassandra saw only a flash, but Arlof had six black spots on his left thumb and a colored band above it. It was almost identical to Sergeant Cadash, the only difference being that Arlof’s band was white; the sergeant had red. Cassandra sipped her coffee, not knowing how to bring it up.
Arlof left, going to sit in his designated chair with the rest of the reporters, most of whom were human, with three other dwarves, a Vashoth who didn’t have horns, and an elf. Cassandra moved to the back of the room, trying to blend in with the wallpaper.
The First Enchanter had walked in, wearing a tailored suit, the blouse cut low and embroidered. She didn’t have her mage staff with her, but the rings she wore were clearly arcane. She was followed by Varric Tethras, who was wearing his now iconic silk red shirt and brown blazer. Neither noticed Cassandra by the door. Varric moved to sit next to Arlof, the two leaning towards each other. Arlof seemed to have gone into a long tangent about something, Varric’s attention entirely on the other dwarf. If she had to guess, Varric was using Arlof’s knowledge of the city for his supposed new book.
Leliana entered in behind some local Chantry representatives, standing next to Cassandra. Her red hood was gone, replaced with a wrap around scarf. She quietly handed Cassandra a folder, her eyes on the podium ahead. Three radio crews were busying setting up their equipment, giving the two women privacy from everyone else in the room. Leliana filled Cassandra in on what was happening in Val Royeaux.
Justinia was planning to remain calm, trusting that Cassandra could find the main reason Ostwick has been unaffected from the recent fighting. However the declaration between the Empress and Grand Duke were making things difficult, since both sides expected the Chantry to back them. It was a mess, one that the Divine did not want to deal with. However, Orlais was one of the few places in Thedas that respected Chantry Law more than Regional Law. It was also the home to the Grand Cathedral. Justinia and some of her trusted clerics have moved to Haven, in the disguise as a pilgrimage, but the truth was to separate her from the Game.
As for the Templar Force and their behaviour towards underage mages and the Colleges themselves, the Lord Seeker has sent agents to each arm. The folder held the files of each Seeker team, where they were stationed, and how they’re investigations were going. But the more troubling news was that the Enchanters had held a meeting, of whether to disband the Colleges and have their mage students go into hiding. Grand Enchanter Fiona from Ferelden had voted to disband, but the actual vote was a tie. First Enchanter Vivienne had made counter arguments to it, stating that disbanding would only further justify the Templar Force’s behaviour. Another vote was set for next week, but there is a clear power struggle going on within the College of Enchanters as well as the Templar Force.
“How is your investigation going, Seeker Cassandra?” Leliana eyes flicked between the door and the podium, as if expecting someone else to appear.
“As I said last time, it’s the people of Ostwick who are keeping the peace, not the Templars nor the College. Commissioner Rutherford has set up a meeting for me with one of his informants; I’m hoping to get more information about the city and the reason for the calm.”
“All in the disguise of that cold case.” Cassandra nodded. “Excellent. Her Most Holy is wanting to know our answer very soon. But I will warn you, she is planning to hold peace talks for the First Enchanters and Knight Commanders soon. The talks will no doubt go on for months, but anything we can do to help find a compromise, one that will work, will be a great help.”
A woman in her early thirties walked in. She had natural grey hair, but in the fluorescent light it was more silver. She was wearing the Ostwick College colours, a grey pantsuit with a sky blue scarf hanging around her shoulders. However she had a Prestige pin on her coat, along with a golden blouse, a mark of a Chevalier graduate. Her hair was cut in a styled bob, bangs swept to the side and blending in with the styled curls. She went to stand next to Cullen, the man leaning into her ear and saying something that made the woman smirk. They were both blushing, even from the back of the room Cassandra could tell. She turned to Leliana and raised her eyebrow.
“The woman is Alexandra Maria Dawn Susanna Trevelyan.” Leliana whispered
“The ‘People’s Noble’ if the tabloids are to be believed.” Cassandra said, most of it hidden in her coffee cup.
“She graduated with a double degree of Communications and Law at Ostwick. In three years, an impressive feat on its own. She then went to Chevalier Prestige, on a fencing scholarship, and got a Master’s in Constitutional Law.”
“That is impressive,” Cassandra watched Cullen take the podium, greeting the reporters and went into his speech on crime rates. “Did you find out which country she specialized.”
“She didn’t.” Leliana continued. “Usually that kind of Master’s would take three years, but add another year and half, you could get the full Constitutional Law, including study into Dalish and the Avaar Nations. She came back to Ostwick, and defended a few lower cases on Alienage property damage. About a year after being home she sued the Templar Force on behalf of twenty anonymous clients. You know what happened afterwards.” As did the rest of Thedas. Ostwick’s former Knight Commander got pulled into the scandal, and Alex Trevelyan gather enough dirt on the two most powerful men in Ostwick to put them behind bars for life.
The First Enchanter’s speech was short, detailing that the Winter Ball, an annual celebration for the creation of the local College, was in two weeks. She praised her students for remaining vigilant against the dangers of temptation and demons, and that she wished the Templar Force luck, congratulating them for taking the time to choose a leader ‘who will bring honor back to the position’. Alex Trevelyan then took the podium, and the room went hush.
“Good morning everyone.” No one replied, but the woman smiled gently. Cassandra noticed she had freckles that decorated her cheeks and nose.
“I suppose this is the point in my speech where I state my name, but to be perfectly honest, it is rather long.” this was received by a barking laugh from Arlof, the rest of the room chuckled along with him.
“My name is Alex Trevelyan, and I stand before you today in order to thank this city for continuing to be the home that I grew up to love. Our streets are clean, and the fear that once kept many in our lower districts from venturing out at night is gone. There are many who would put me on a podium, stating that because of one lucky case that I single handedly save our community.
“This is not true. We saved our community. We stood up against a tyrant and a bully, two men who had taken vows to protect and serve us, but went back against every word. I know that when Commissioner Rutherford took on his role, many of us did not think an outsider could solve our problems. I’m sure that now, after many internal investigations and thorough background checks on our Guard, he has proven himself. I would also like to once again thank Madame Vivienne, for who at such short notice five years ago, took the role of our First Enchanter. I’m a graduate of Ostwick College myself, but to see the pride in our College of Enchanters shining through not just our students, but our locals as well, is a tremendous feat. Education is a door to many opportunities, and our local schools have raised the bar for our population under Madame Vivienne’s guidance.
“I would also like…” Alex looked down at her notes. She then moved them to the side. Several reporters leaned forward in their chairs.
“I would like to set the record straight. A man by the name of Maxwell Trevelyan, Senior, has boasted in the press that I am his daughter. He is not. He disowned me when I was a child, and I grew up in the Old Alienage District. I have seen what happens to the average person who lives in this city. I remember the protests about tearing down the Vhenadahl; I also remember playing by that tree. I know the elves and the dwarves of this city far better than I do the Nobility. I also know that many people still fear mages, and that it was once common practice for people to give up their infants, their own children, just because they had a little magic.
“I know this city, but more importantly I know it’s people. Our history, which is written on the side of boats, in the mines, on our streets. Thedas is watching us because somehow, through all odds, the chaos and fear of the outside world has yet to reach us. I came back to Ostwick not because I had somehow proven myself to a man who did not want me. I came back to this city to help the very people who raised me. The press has called me ‘The People’s Noble’, but I have never been treated as a noble in my life.
“I am only one voice, but I will not waste my breath for those who already have a podium to shout from. Yes, I am considered a Noble by name and birth, but I was raised to know that no one person should hold an advantage for simply existing. I am here to announce my campaign. I am running for Teyrn of Ostwick.”
Leliana gasped and Cassandra choked on her coffee. Immediately the room exploded into a frenzy, reporters trying to ask Alex Trevelyan questions. She thanked the room and left, her head held high. Vivienne smirked and followed closely behind, leaving Cullen to try and calm down the room at the podium, and failing miserably.

It's Dragon Age day still in the U.S., so HAPPY DRAGON AGE DAY! This series means so much to me, I'm not even sure I truly comprehend it. DA2 and Inquisition, specifically. I was in high school when DA2 came out. I was gifted it for Christmas and I'd seen the trailer for it beforehand and I was super excited to play. Little did I know just how deep this series would worm its way into my heart. I cried when my Hawke lost his mother. Especially because my own family has been though so much, I still cry when thinking about the possibility of my mom just suddenly being gone. I loved Anders and his fight for his fellow mages. As a freshly out-of-the-closet teen, I applied much of this storyline to modern day LGBT stuff. Like, at 16-17 years old, I could see my Community easily ending up in situations like the mages in Dragon Age if certain people became elected. Maybe that's silly of me, idk 🤷♂️. Jumping ahead to Inquisition, this game couldn't have been released at a better time in my life. I had just moved to the next state over after living with my grandparents for a year and three months, to the day, my favorite band had dropped their new album the same day as Inquisition's release, and I was FINALLY able to start healing from my parents divorce. Even on the Xbox 360, I was amazed at the graphics and the new customization options. That's my favorite thing of any game I've played. Give. Me. Customization options. Choices, Characters I can identify with, the whole nine. I LOVE stimulating games that provoke emotion and deep thought. Inquisition had all of that. My first character was a female qunari saarabas named Maleficent (#obsessed) and when Cullen have his speech to the allied mages during the attack on Haven... 😍 I was so emotional, I almost cried lol. But, what really got me crying in the club was everyone singing to your Inquisitor in the aftermath. I love most of the soundtrack. And the tavern songs? Bops. All of them. I know it's likely gonna be 2022 (unless a miracle or two occurs) by the time we actually get DA4, but I'll happily wait it out! The pictures I've attached are my favorite characters. First and foremost is Flemeth. I just love her so much. From Origins to Inquisition, she's absolutely been my favorite. I think a lot of her advice also kind of applies to today's political climate. Particularly her advice from DA2, "We stand upon the precipice of change. The world fears the inevitable plummet into the abyss. Watch for that moment. And when it comes, do not hesitate to leap! It is only when you fall that you learn whether you can fly!"
Then there's Morrigan. I like Morrigan because she's kinda like me. I'm a Witch in my everyday life, and I love learning about magical history and the things most have forgotten or stopped caring about. So to see a character who is kind of the same, she knows so much magical lore and wants to protect the older magicks as best she can, regardless of how feared they might be in her present day; it's something I gravitate towards and I really respect her for that.
Cassandra is just awesome. In DA2 and most of Act 1 of Inquisition, we see her as this, like, brick shit house; doing what it takes to get stuff done while taking no BS from either side. But when you talk to her, she's so unsure of things. But, she still has her faith. I think that's definitely important, no matter who you are, that you have something or someone to believe in and maybe let guide you on your path in life.
Dorian. Good God, I love Dorian. The relationship with Dorian is similar to the one I have with my boyfriend. My boyfriend was so used to the typical hook-up culture that's infiltrated and (in my opinion) contaminated the gay community, specifically, that I had to teach him how to be a boyfriend, not just a lover. So my Inquisitor's relationship with Dorian ALWAYS goes on for the entirety of the game. No FWB, no "just for fun". I'm an "all or none" kind of dude. Also, that mustache? Daaammmnn 😍
I'm all about that #ApostateLife, but I do like Vivienne, especially because even though she comes off as this conservative, frigid bitch, she does show a softer side to her once in a blue moon (i.e. Duke Bastien's death). I also love the way she reads people to filth because it's so eloquent, you almost don't realize she's actually just committed character assassination.
Solas is one of my favorite characters for one main reason, and that's his uniqueness. Even before we find out his true identity, he's still the only mage we've encountered in all three games that has such a deep understanding of the Fade. I hope we learn more about the real elven history in DA4 because the tidbits Solas gives at the end of Trespasser are just not enough. I. Need. DETAILS! As for the Solas romance, even now knowing he's the Dread Wolf, we deserved better than just "oops, this isn't working, peace!". Like, we've all had a break-up like that and it hurts because you don't get any closure from it, no real reason why they left. And again, even knowing he's a "bad guy", OUR LAVELLANS DESERVED BETTER! But, that's also what makes him such a good character, to me. The fact that he elicited that reaction, that emotion, from me.
The Inquisitor. Regardless of whether it's Trevelyan, Lavellan, Cadash, or Adaar, my favorite line of theirs is from Trespasser: "Shit! Damn it! We save Fereldan and they're angry. We save Orlais and they're angry. We close the Breach TWICE and my own hand wants to kill me. Could one thing in this fucking world just stay fixed?!" I love it. Especially in the British female voice. I also absolutely LOVE telling off the Exalted Council. Whether I'm disbanding the Inquisition or not, these mofos almost don't seem to care that I saved their lives AGAIN, (and at the cost of my Anchor arm!) just that I won't ask "how high" when they say "jump".
