a concept: s5 promo, a gif-poster or a clip, we see Will’s face from the side, eyes open and vulnerable, a familiar pale hand with long fingers resting on his cheek
then the picture shifts, Will’s open eyes turn white, hand turns into Vecna’s claw-like fingers.
do you see the vision

I have the PERFECT idea for the first teaser of ST5 hear me out
Imagine the teaser starts right where we left off in Season 4. It then rewinds through the seasons, moving from the end all the way back to Season 1. As this happens, the show's theme music plays backward, growing slower and more eerie with each passing second. When it reaches Season 1, it stops on the moment where Will is holding the gun, We then get a brief, chilling glimpse of what he saw (Vecna) just before vanishing into the Upside Down. The screen then fades to black, and the Stranger Things title emerges with a huge “5” in the background. The “5” flickers just like the lightbulb did when Will disappeared. (Just to create a more dramatic effect)
To give you an idea of how the theme would sound, imagine it playing backward with a glitchy effect, getting more distorted with background voices from different characters, each repeating lines they've said in the previous seasons.

Didn't want to hijack @destroya2005 's post, but can never pass up an opportunity to call out the Duffers messiness.
Steve being forced to work at Scoops to "see what working in the real world is like" makes absolutely no sense, if he worked as a lifeguard for three years before then.
1. He was likely paid more as a lifeguard. Going off my own experience in 90s Illinois and Google AI lol, there was typically a small pay bump above minimum wage for lifeguards cause it requires a certification. Nothing huge but that dollar makes a difference. And goggle search seems to support it was the same in the 80s (on national average, there were always exceptions depending on location).
2. Even without that small pay increase, Steve already had experience getting and keeping a real American job lol, and there's no reason not to stick with that real job. Unless we're introducing the idea that Steve's dad is an elitist ass who doesn't think lifeguarding is a real job. But the writers never address this, or why slinging ice cream would be more "real" to Mr. Harrington so we're just left with the confusing conflict of Steve having already had real world work experience when his dad decided to force him to get some lol.
3. If it was a case of needing something that would last longer than the summer, then we need to address the question of why he couldn't just express interest about being hired on for winter work through the park district (or whatever public organization is running the place) he's worked for for three summers? I worked at my community pool as a teen, and even if the swimming facility was closed in the winter, the other activities attached to the facility and the connected park were still open. If not for school, it would have been easy for me to stay on and honestly work anywhere within the park district. Frankly they'd have been thrilled to pay me less than hiring older staff lol.
4. If it was their intent to imply that the Hawkins community pool is either too small or is detached from any larger community asset management (like a park district), they needed to make that explicit in the writing and filming. Which it most certainly isn't. LOL . They scripted this place to have a decently sized facility with multiple interior rooms, large enough to feasibly contain extras like an indoor sauna and a workout gym for their "sauna test", and showed multiple shots revealing the public park next door as well. The filming location is literally everything typical of a community pool: there is also a park next door with a playground, a basketball court, and a dog park, plus picnic and BBQ areas, and they are all managed together through the district. It doesn't take more than a quick google search for community pools in Indiana to confirm that even in tiny towns, this trends toward the norm. Even if the facilites aren't as large as this pool in metro atlanta, they at least tend to have a park with a playground for YEAR ROUND USE.
So in summary we have Steve, a recently graduated 18 year-old who is charismatic, easy on the eyes, a big name in town, with at least 3 summers of prior work experience, suddenly needing a permanent part time job, and he ends up in a doofy sailor hat at a place he hates because he wasn't qualified to work anywhere else? *squints* *tilts head* HOW? The math aint mathing.
All of this to say, that as a writer, the minute they introduced the idea of Steve working at the community pool for three years, their whole reason for having Steve work at scoops the season before disolved like sugar, and it's just so hilariously avoidable, and then fixable after that, and yet they do neither. They really just needed to provide the audience with further explanation for why he took that job besides : the plot we decided to go with demanded it.
Unless the reasoning is just that Steve's dad is a giant dick who goes out of his way to make his kids life hard as some kinda punishment for disappointing him. Which valid, and fandom writers are more than happy to take that and run with it lol. But a show really demands tighter writing. If that was what they were trying to say about Steve's dad, a throw away line about his dad wanting him to experience real work doesn't cut it.
Which yes, fandom runs away with that general assumption, but in reality it's glaringly obvious the Duffers just plain forgot that daddy wanting to teach his spoiled rich son a lesson about real work was supposed to be Steve's reason for working in the mall the prior season. And here we are.

Imo, the most interesting part in Matt Duffer’s quote is that they’ve apparently been rewatching S1 again while working on S5 👀
I think that's really the bare minimum if they really forgot Will's birthday because they didn't rewatch season 2 before making season 4 ( even if it's still super strange to me, especially because they wrote in parallels to season 2.... but okay let's take it as the truth for now... ) they should have rewatched the show a lot before the finale to make sure they don't write plot holes or forget canon stuff lol
and if they are making flashbacks to season 1 they also need to check that they replicate it correctly 😭 what they actually needed to do was hire me as script supervisor so I could rewatch the show and tell them stuff like hey bestie this doesn't make any sense and also write in another byler kiss here and here and here too thanks 👍

I’d say it took them around 8 months after wrapping season four to release the first volume.
If they want to reduce the wait for season 5 like they did season 4, and chose to break up the season in two, we could see volume one in august at the latest, then possibly volume two further into autumn.
Of course, if they split the season in two equal halves, we could see the first four episodes just as summer starts (pls don’t do that to me i have 12 exams to sit in june 🥲)
I can also see them choosing not to split up the season the same way they did before purely because season 5 is the last season, whilst s4 was somewhat of an intermediate season that was released over a longer period to maintain the hype for the show and keep people engaged.
Since ST is quite literally the most popular US show on netflix, i seriously doubt they are worried about keeping the hype alive as s5 is the last season, I can see them spending more time editing the whole thing and dropping it all at once.
It all depends on the amount of CGI compared to s4, the budget, the size of the post-production crew, and how much content they have to work with.
So here i’m thinking:
S5 is split into two equal halves: Vol 1 (e1-4) are released early summer, Vol 2 (e5-8) are released sometime in september or later.
S5 is split similarly to S4: Vol 1 (e1-5/6?) released in august and Vol 2 (6/7?-8) are released in september/october
S5 is not split and the entire season drops sometime in autumn 2025 (i can see them aiming for a late october/early november release to allign with the time of year the season itself is set in/link back to wills disappearance on nov 6th)
(very rare) S5 is released Weekly? Starting in october, ending in november - IMO this would have been great if the other seasons were released weekly, but since ST has always been formatted for a binger audience, so it might feel foreign to the audience and ruin the flow of the ending - i cannot see them doing this unless each episode borders on 2 1/2 hours long (i don’t even want to know how long this season is going to be but considering they’ve been shooting for a year straight it’s going to be so much longer than s4 despite having fewer episodes)
I know it doesn’t seem soon, but this will fly by! Plus this is purely based off s4, no one is more eager for this season to come out than the Duffer brothers themselves. I don’t know a lot about post-production, but i imagine they can hire twice as many people to hopefully get it out as soon as possible without taking away from the quality of the season.
Im grateful we still have time to be excited about new content and theorise about it because this is the last time we get to do it! Who knows when a show as good as ST will come along again, IF one will come along again?
The wait, however long, will be worth it!
Think about it like we’re closer to watching the final season than we are to when they started filming.

Victor and Owens, Lying to Oneself, Possible Origins of the Edward Timeline (Did It Start Out As A Simulation?), NINA Fuckery, and SO MUCH OTHER STUFF THIS POST IS HUGE BUT FULL OF INFO
So,in this post, I talked about how that scene of Victor getting arrested & the Henward monologue dialogue over top of it is weird as hell and out of place:
Tumblr media
And when talking with James @henrysglock , it came to my attention that there’s a line of dialogue that fits perfectly there, from the Massacre at Hawkins Lab script (which, even though I’m an 8flix script truther, even if you don’t believe in those, this script is directly from the Duffers).
This line from the massacre script that was omitted from S4:
Tumblr media
Would fit in perfectly during this scene with the “missing dialogue” that I mentioned:
Tumblr media
Which makes brings me to my next point. That line and Victor’s characterization vs Owens’ characterization.
I don’t think that line is an accurate description of Victor, not even from a warped Henry POV (ie even if Henry hated Victor’s guts entirely, based on Victor’s characterization, I think Henry would’ve hated him more for his genuine ignorance) and especially not in the context of characterization and storytelling choices.
And here’s why.
Victor, consistently, is portrayed as unintentionally ignorant rather than lying to himself. He’s portrayed as paranoid and as genuinely believing in things that are wrong, rather than lying to himself about them being right.
As mentioned in this post, Victor WAS trying to help his family, he wasn't just waving off Henry's issues as demons/using it as an excuse- he went as far as to hire a priest for an exorcism. He truly believed that the demon was the problem, and sure maybe you could argue that he was successfully lying to himself, but that doesn't track with how much Victor is shown to love Henry- if Victor doubted that the demon was the real issue & thought something else was going on/that something else was bothering Henry, I think he would've gone after that avenue instead of solely focusing on the demon.
And even though believing in demons may sound crazy/farfetched to us/sound like Victor was trying to find an excuse/lying to himself, to Victor, even if he wasn't religious, there is a STRANGE amount of evidence that points to a demon when no other explanation is available (like let's be honest- if you moved into an old mansion and the lights started flickering on their own AND you found random dead possums in your daughter's bed AND you started seeing burning babies in the fireplace AND your wife saw spiders magically crawling out of the bathtub AND your son started hanging out in the attic (where you thought you felt a demonic presence previously) while ALSO drawing a demon-esque shadow monster drawing in that very attic and then ALSO watched your wife fly into the air psuedo-rapture style and have her eyes explode, and her eyes exploded AFTER you tried a FAILED EXORCISM THAT SUPPOSEDLY PISSED OFF THE DEMON IN YOUR HOUSE, wouldn't you, especially in the 50s, MAYBE suspect that there MIGHT be a demon in your house????? At this point, Victor would've been lying to himself if he tried to claim that there WASN'T a demon!!!
Victor didn't NEED to lie to himself about the demon, when you lay it all out, there's a lot of evidence there that points to a Demon, especially without the knowledge of powers/Hawkins Lab). Like. Victor was objectively in a batshit crazy set of circumstances. It's not like he was just Some Guy In A Normal World With No Powers/No Exploding Wives who called every shadow in the corner of his eye a demon- from Victor's POV, a demon was the RATIONAL explanation and I DON'T BLAME HIM LMAO!! He didn't NEEEEED to lie to himself!!!
And we see Victor with the porch on the shotgun even though that was clearly triggering his PTSD- he's not just trying to lie to himself for his own comfort, he genuinely seems to believe that there's a threat that isn't Henry, whether it's demons or wildcats.
And even with the farmhouse in WW2, Victor didn’t “lie to himself pretend that there were no people inside” & bomb it anyway- he says that he genuinely believed that German soldiers were inside, but he was wrong. He was genuinely ignorant.
Hell, I’m struggling to find a scene where it’s closer to Victor lying to himself than it is to genuine ignorance. The evidence is just way more supportive of Victor being a genuinely ignorant and paranoid and incorrect man than it is of Victor being a man who lies to himself.
And we also have to keep in mind that Victor very VERY likely got his brain fried by HNL (see this post, this post, and this post), which would explain why some of his monologue might have vibes of him lying to himself (even though I still don't really think that it does/not beyond the amount that the average person lies to themselves/not to an extent that I think Henward would list it as a defining trait for him)- it's not so much that he's lying to himself, it's that he's been lied TO/can't remember what actually happened. He makes ZERO mention of the exoricsm, for example. He's missing pieces.
Which is why I don’t think that this line is meant to describe Victor (at least not Henry’s Victor)- after all, there’s nothing there saying that Victor lied to himself, just that there’s a voiceover of One talking about how his father lied to himself that happens to play over a clip of Victor (which is an interesting choice considering how often ST asks us to consider the discrepancy between what we’re being told (Henward’s monologue) vs what we’re being shown (scenes of Victor)).
But if this line isn’t about Victor, them who is it about? Who DOES lie to himself? ALL the time?
Sam Owens.
Owens lies to himself ALL THE FUCKING TIME. CONSTANTLY. NEVERENDING. THE NEVERENDING STORY MAY AS WELL BE THE STORY OF HOW OFTEN OWENS LIES TO HIMSELF!!!!
Let’s go through some of the examples of Owens lying to himself and others:
So, we get this scene of Owens seemingly trying to convince both Joyce and himself that what’s wrong with Will is just in Will’s head- but then it IMMEDIATELY cuts to a scene of Owens watching the burn at the Mothergate.
Tumblr media
Owens likely suspects that it isn’t in Will’s head but is lying to Joyce, Hopper, and himself, and thinks he can keep the UD under control/from spreading.
And to further this point, we have the scene of Owens talking with Hopper in his office:
Tumblr media
“It’s contained” -> Owens is clearly lying to both Hopper AND himself here. If he was just lying to Hopper, he’d be more concerned/investigating on his own time. But he’s trying to convince himself that he’s keeping it contained.
And then we have that “convince me.” vs “convince you?“ line. Owens, why are you so flabbergasted/upset at Hopper asking you to prove what you're telling him- it's almost like you don't believe it yourself. And the fact that the line is written as "convince you?"-Owens, who else were you trying to convince?? 🤨🤨🤨 Why the emphasis on "you"/Hopper? Maybe trying to convince yourself there, Owens?
And when we get to the scene of Nancy and Jonathan in the lab, Owens lies to himself about Brenner being gone- and the fact that he’s lying to himself and not just Jancy is evidenced by the fact that he keeps repeating, in both this scene and the previous scene with Hopper and Joyce, that Brenner/the people responsible for what happened to Barb and Will, are gone.
Tumblr media
With Nancy and Jonathan, even if Owens wasn’t lying to himself it makes sense to lie to them & reassure them that Brenner and co are gone, since Nancy and Jonathan are trying to investigate the lab. But with Joyce and Hopper? He could’ve just kept pushing the anniversary effect thing, or talked about how they’re burning the mothergate, or ANYTHING else. But he specifically brings up that Brenner and co are gone. Because he’s trying to convince himself.
And when we get to the S2 scene of Owens with Bob in the lab, Owens is lying to himself here too.
Tumblr media
He’s trying to convince both himself AND Bob that Bob is home free/going to be safe, because if Bob wssn’t home free, then that’s yet another death on Owens’ conscience. And Owens, unlike Brenner, does seem to have a conscience, hence why he needs to lie to himself way more than Brenner does (whereas Brenner seems to truly believe himself as being genuinely in the right & Owens has to lie to himself to achieve that).
Long story short, Owens has a MUCH MUCH longer track record of lying to himself that Victor could ever HOPE to have. There’s even MORE instances of Owens lying to himself, but this is just what I could include without hitting the image limit for this post.
And although I don’t think that Victor lies to himself the same way that Owens does, Owens and Victor DO have an absolute TON of parallels to eachother, as mentioned in this post (and specifically, Owens seems to parallel Victor more than the other way around).
Tumblr media
And when we look at Owens’ wife, she resembles Virginia Creel and Connie Frazier quite a bit- she's basically what you'd get if you crossed the two of them:
Tumblr media
Like, she's even got the same blonde bangs as Virginia, and has a VERY similar side profile to Connie/Mother Alice and the same blue eyes:
Tumblr media
She’s also dressed a lot like the way Robin was dressed in Pennhurst (look at the shirt cuts), which is interesting considering that Nancy's fake name in Pennhurst was Ruth (and Robin's was rose, so, again, Creel imagery), and that Owens and his wife live in Ruth, Nevada, and the "Ruth" title card is even shown right on top of Owens' wife:
Tumblr media
And they made the choice to make Owens the character who holds the photo of Connie’s dead body (a photo that Jack Sullivan gave to Owens to try and get him to cooperate in addition to showing him a comparison for the Vecna victims- possibly indicating that Connie was somebody important to Owens), which is VERY interesting considering that Connie Frazier is very likely Edward Creel’s mother/Mother Alice.
Tumblr media
And as I talked about in this post, that scene of Victor getting arrested/the voiceover during it is VERY VERY VERY LIKELY Edward Creel, not Henry.
Which brings us to Edward’s backstory/origins/possible parentage. And Owens. And how those two things might connect.
Owens was able to identify 001 by killing style alone, and talks about Brenner “overestimating” 001/challenges Brenner’s perception/knowledge of 001- point is, he talks as if he’s personally familiar with 001.
Tumblr media
Which is why it’s super fucking weird that Henward doesn’t mention Owens at ALLLLL in his monologue. He names Martim Brenner, and “Papa,” but he never names a “Doctor Owens.” He never names a Sam. Not in the show, and not in the script. He never alludes to anything even slightly resembling any hint of Sam Owens. It’s like Owens didn’t even exist.
But who else does he mention in that script, in addition to Brenner?
His father. He mentions his father, and just says “my father,” without giving any sort of name or indication or ANY other info about his father other than that snippet of dialogue I showed you earlier in the script & the line in the show about “my father was arrested”.
And even though we, the audience, are seeing clips of Victor during that “my father was arrested,” scene, a.) we don’t know what would’ve been shown during that script dialogue if it was in the show (or if it comes back in S5), because that line isn’t in the show and b.) the monologue is happening in 1979/during NINA, and the Creel murders sequence of Nancy/Victor’s arrest is completely separate. They chose to have NANCY watch those scenes/memories SPECIFICALLY so that those scenes wouldn’t be mistaken for Henward’s 1979 memories/whatever was going on in Henward’s head when he was giving his monologue. We don’t see what HE is thinking of when he says that line about his father being arrested. He could be thinking of Owens for all we know.
Owens also never refers to 001 as Henry- in fact, he never mentions the name Henry at all. Only “001”. And you might be thinking “oh, Em, that’s because Brenner and El are saying “001”/everyone associated with the lab calls him 001,” but funnily enough, Brenner and El both say “Henry” more frequently (even though Brenner also uses “001”), but even after listening to Brenner and El call him Henry, even SECONDS after one of them JUST called him Henry, Owens always either just says “him” or “001”. He’s never said the name “Henry”.
Tumblr media
And also, “Peter Ballard” was the casting name for Henward, and Brenner also asks for a “Peter” over the intercom during the massacre:
Tumblr media
And Owens had a son named Peter:
Tumblr media
And what the hell was up with Hopper talking about “Uncle Sam” (vs Sam Owens) and all of the Victor-Owens parallels?? Especially considering that this scene of Hopper HEAVILY parallels Victor's Pennhurst monologue, right down to both of them talking about being cursed. So, if we were to put Victor in Hopper's place, who is "Uncle Sam" to Victor? Especially with all of the talk of Virginia's dead great uncle??? And Virginia somehow knowing the lab/Brenner??? What is going on??
Tumblr media
And to top it all off, as I already mentioned in this post, Sullivan straight up SAYS that Owens created this problem after showing Owens photos of the Vecna victims (and Edward very likely being Vecna):
Tumblr media
Owens. Are you Edward’s father. Somehow???? Or even a father figure even if you’re not Biologically his father?? Especially since again, linking this post, I talked there about how Owens calls Will "son" in S2, which, at that point, Will had been possessed via the shadow particles- and if Edward was the one possessing him, that would track with Edward being a son to Owens in SOME capacity (which is also interesting considering that Brenner calls Shepard 'son' in S1)
Tumblr media
And I’m staring at MKultra and fake memory stuff and I'm staring at NINA and I'm staring at the Truman Show being on the S4 movie board, and I'm staring at all of the creel murder discrepancies/memory weirdness and I'm staring at the LSD with MKULTRA and at this post , and. At 1893427828394 other things.
And on that note, something that's always stuck out to me was this line from Henward's monologue- the "it was all a lie, a terrible lie" line.
Tumblr media
Did HNL try and FULLY recreate Henry by simulating Henry's childhood/the Creel murders for Edward (especially since if Edward was lab-made, he wouldn't have any strong enough bad memories to pull from (since the lab abuse would've been his 'normal'-hence why El, another lab-raised kid had to pull from the memories of Terry's break in/her own birth/things that aren't meant to be part of the Lab Kid Experience, and that's also probably part of why El was "special"/different from the other)/to trigger his powers/Henry talking about how 001/Edward struggled to get his powers to work) Did they pull a NINA but with the Creel murders/Creel house as the setting instead of Hawkins Lab? Was it all a literal lie in that sense??
And looking at that shot with the Creel family together, something that haunts me about it is that it's NOT part of what Nancy is seeing. Basically all of the Creel scenes during this 1979 monologue sequence are actually what Nancy is seeing in 1986 in her Vecna vision/are NOT what would have been going through Henward's mind at the time. But that shot of the Creels moving in... not only is Nancy WAY past that atp in her vision, but she also, interestingly enough, NEVER SAW that scene by the car, she started/spawned in the foyer instead. Does Vecna not have that memory??? Is that why it was a lie??? Did it all start in the foyer for Edward too, like a simulation??? Like how El spawns right into the middle of NINA/in her room/keeps respawnning in the middle of rainbow room after??? "They presented themselves as good, normal people" this has always HAUNTED ME because while yes, Victor accidentally killed a family in the war, he still loved Henry & it doesn't make sense imo for Henry to get so so bent out of shape over what was genuinely an accident & that Victor obviously felt guilt over. And we don't even get a HINT of what Virginia did. But what if Edward wasn't talking about them? What if Owens and Connie/Mother Alice presented themselves as "good, normal people" (Victor and Virginia, even though Virginia wasn't good, just talking on a surface level), and pretended to be Victor and Virginia as part of a NINA-style simulation???? It sounds like a stretch but there's SOMETHING there, especially with all of the "son" imagery with Owens and Edward and all of the Owens-Victor parallels and all of the "Connie is Mother Alice" stuff..... it would Explain it. What it DOESN'T explain is the newspapers. Because Nancy and Robin see a newspaper about Edward Creel in the flesh. It's right there. It's not in the lab or in NINA. It's out there in the world. But where THAT gets EXTRA interesting is the fact that Nancy and Robin see papers both naming Edward (the Indianapolis Gazette) and Henry (the Weekly Watcher)- so who's timeline are they IN??? Why does Nancy and Robin's timeline have both Edward AND Henry papers???? Both of which give completely conflicting dates for the Creel murders and conflicting ages for Victor and 81239019203 other completely contradictory things.
Which makes me wonder about that scene of Henward turning back the clock and talking about how he could not join in the madness (thinking about El having to 'join in the madness' during NINA and play her part) and it makes me wonder about how the blue UD is a copy of Hawkins and it makes me wonder about the red mind lair having a broken but Ttouchable version of the Creel house and it makes me wonder if the blue UD was something created by HNL or by Edward, and then Edward fucking with time & trying to make his timeline real and just. I don't know the answers or WHAT happened, but there is SOMETHING going on here.
And there’s also just something rattling for me about this shot & the line about “Peter’s school projects” & how all of the pictures in the background are crooked as a result of the military rooting around, vs the mysteriously crooked pictures in the Creel house:
Tumblr media
And like I talked about in this post, Henward’s monologue has another strange inconsistency- he talks both about how the Creel murders were spur of the moment/his mother left him with no choice and then, in that same scene of Victor getting arrested that I’ve mentioned throughout this, talks about how he “planned” it.
Tumblr media
Did you plan it or not, Henward??? Did one of you plan it in one timeline and another one of you do it spur of the moment in another??? Is Edward's timeline part of something created by the lab?? WHAT IS GOING ON??? Did Edward create his timeline and therefore the blue UD????? Did Edward make the NINA simulation real/use Henry's memories to do so (after all, Brenner talks about how 001 takes everything from a person, including their memories).
And how did the Edward AND Henry newspapers end up in the SAME timeline???? WHAT IS GOING ON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe the blind item because it makes sense let me explain. Each cast member have their pr teams and managers and they have their own thing, it’s possible their managers or teams told them specifically to distance themselves. This might explain Noah’s recent deleting of his social media posts on all platforms including taking away his YouTube this might’ve been him frustrated and alone doing all of this. Hiring a therapist on set for him seems real as well.
This is just awful regardless if this is true. Ostracizing the kid over internet hate when he needs to be in a good environment to deliver a good performance, that would just f-ck anybody up he’s a human being for Christ sakes. It’s tragic and it’s just wanting a disaster to unfold, and I wouldn’t put it past him if he did snap on set or have a mental breakdown. If this is true lord help me stranger things could f-ck off he doesn’t deserve this.
🤔🤔 i mean, i see where you’re coming from but it still doesn’t make sense, imo. it is possible that cast members were advised by their pr not to post personal photos of noah during production or for however long BUT i feel like it doesn’t apply to this situation because brett is free to do what he wants even while he’s filming, and no one is being told to distance themselves from him outside of work. i know noah has a much bigger role but, idk how this sort of stuff works, i’d say noah would have grounds to sue for workplace discrimination? like brett is openly jewish and very politically vocal, but hey, let’s target the gay jewish kid who barely said anything instead 😭?? those zionism stickers are meaningless when brett actively visits israel during the war.
so yeah, the blind item is bullshit. it’s just someone from stan twitter creating more online ammo because it’s the current trend to tweet disparagingly about noah and constantly make death hoaxes.
if brett can go on like this, the duffers and netflix clearly don’t care. noah is being hidden for a reason and it has nothing to do with what he did. they are trying to keep spoilers under wraps 😩 like we haven’t seen most of the cast yet and it’s still early days but people are going rabid and make it all about noah. which would be funny if it wasn’t so tragic.

For me Jonathan dying makes way more sense than Steve dying.
I think a large part of Dustin's arc is not losing his other big brother figure. It would be so cruel to lose Steve after Eddie, and it's predictable because everyone wants him dead since s1. It would also be great for Steve to overcome his self sacrificial tendencies, overall I just don't think Steve dying makes sense after Eddie.
Now with Jonathan, he is very close to Will and El, which are the main targets for Vecna. He would also sacrifice himself for his family, especially Will. Plus he didn't have much of an arc since s1 really, getting to be the hero in s5 makes sense for him.
In general I don't think main character will die, Stranger Things isn't the show for that.
Yeah, okay I see your point.
Jonathan’s kinda been a tagalong for the past two seasons, so my mind didn't immediately go to him being the one that dies. But it honestly makes alot of sense.
Stranger Things has killed atleast ONE decently important character each season, in helping the crew to get to where they are in their assumptions of how to kill the big bad, or what's happening in general(Hopper doesn't count)
Barb's death being the one to introduce Nancy, Jonathan, and Steve to the upside down(And later Murray after being hired by her parents.)
Bob being the one to figure out how to tunnels connect and work, where the base(or heart) is.
Alexei was the one who was working with the Russians, told Hopper, Murray, and Joyce about Planck's Constance.
And Eddie was the one to witness some of the Vecna murders, and tell the group about him being back. Meeting him at Skull Rock also helped them figure out the gates opening too.
All people who have had at least one big purpose before going out with a bang.
Jonathans been on the downlow, this season and season two at least, season three he helped as a getaway driver and being with Nancy at the hospital.
Each character has had their big arc and he's been waiting for his.
If it's not him or Steve though, there's a chance they'll just bring in another brand new shiny character though to kill off.
I doubt the Duffer Brothers will kill nobody off.

There's nothing that I'd like more than both Chrissy and Eddie coming back and getting their fairytale ending in ST, or at least meeting again. But Grace supports Palestine - which is the right thing to do -, Ross Duffer signed that pro-Israel letter to Biden and actors who speak against the genocide are losing opportunities. I don't have so much hope.
The hard cold truth of Hollywood is that they’ll hire whoever they think will bring them the most moneyregardless of whether they support Palestine or not. If there is a large enough public wave of outcry and demands to support Palestine, Hollywood will backtrack all Israel shows of support or at least keep it very, very quiet. If public opinion sways towards supporting Israel, Hollywood will pretend to follow in suit. Hollywood doesn’t care. They care just about money. (For the record, I am anti-war in all cases. I want Hamas to disappear, I want Palestinians to live peacefully without violence from Israel, I want the Israeli military to face justice and accountability for their crimes of genocide and rape, I want Israeli civilians caught in the crosshairs to be safe, their kidnapped families returned, their 10/7 victims of rape and murder to be believed and fully condemn the Israeli government for committing the most heinous of war crimes, much like the US did after 9/11 and I refuse to participate in any antisemitism used to try and liberate Palestine—liberation for Palestine is inextricably tied to the safety and protection of the Jewish people.)
The fact of the matter is, I have zero faith in the Duffer brothers as writers. I know what I would do for season 5 (I wouldn’t bring back the tired dead love triangle of Steve/Jonathan/Nancy, I’ll tell you that much). Despite the wave of support for Barb, her character never returned (though I’m still gunning for a flayed version of Barb to fuck with Nancy a little bit).
What I’m trying to say here is I don’t actually care what happens in season 5, because whatever dumb or good writing they do, I’m going to get a flobbityjillion fic ideas from it. I win either way. Would I love more Hellcheer content? Totally. Do I expect it? Nah. Does that matter to me? Not at all. Cuz I’m just going to do whatever I want and hopefully I can come up with some even crazier rare pairs…
