🚨 Cutting: I tried to get out of a relationship with a younger cutter after nothing I tried to do/say helped. She used to send me pics of her scars and once on facetime, she had freshly cut LARGE cuts along her forearm and I almost vomited...never did I tell her that it was good. I find directing the anger, sadness, and pain into creativity is much more relieving. Young ones cut, but it doesn't (usually) last into adulthood, which is when those most damaged often turn to other coping mechanisms. No destructive coping mechanism is a good thing, but as for advice on this, I don't have any bc everyone is different and there's no universal bandaid for trauma. I'd tell you to stop, but I know I don't have any purchasing power there. Just be safe🌻✨

According to my bio I said I'm a big pervert, and it's true. I do like my innuendos and flirting (hey, I'm a Gemini...we ✨flirt✨). And I hold a unique position in that I've been on both sides of this coin: I was the younger girl who chased after older men when I was your age, but I'm now the older man whose life was severely affected by younger women (my ex/the one I lived with for 10 years was 11 years younger than me). I know a thing or two about the sexual dynamics between younger/older, and what younger is looking for vs. what older (AMAB, by longtime observation) is looking for.

Once again, you know who is underutilized in DCxDP crossovers? Battinson. Skrunkly shivering boi. Who we should definitely give children to care for. 

 Did you know that Jason canonically had a brother named Danny? Well you do now, and it should also be used more. 

 We all want to give Battinson a robin, so why not give him four for the price of two. He of course gets Dick from the circus- he’s never going to go into public again, this was the first time he’d gone to do something out of his comfort zone for a while and look how that turned out. 

 And on one of the nights that Dick has to stay home (Alfred insists he must finish his homework if he wants to go out on patrol) Bruce returns to the batmobile to find not one child, but two. Is Danny reincarnated? Just appeared one day? Who knows, but he’s here now and going to protect his little brother. 

 Bruce might have tears in his eyes when they both hit him in the kneecaps and bolt because even with the armor it still hurts. How he manages to grab both kids he’s not too sure, but he ends up getting them food after they put the tires back. He also doesn’t understand how he’s convinced them into the car but they’ve both conked out and maybe he’s panicking and needs Alfred- 

 D-Dick why is there another child here? He’s the neighbor, cool cool. W-what do you mean he’s home alone, he’s like, 4?? What do you mean he’s been alone for a week now???

Danny al Ghul Danyal, cast a glance as his full blooded and twin sister this time around Helen Ellie al Ghul who rolled her eyes as they listened to their 'father' ramble on and on about their 'dad' and how they were created to be his heir (Danny mostly, though he had plans on Ellie going to be trained to be his body guard by someone named Lady Shiva soon)

Yeah, no. Ellie dealt with one evil fruitloop father who cloned her once before, she's not dealing that again or falling for the 'I created thus I love you but not really' bs. They need to leave, like yesterday.

Hopefully their 'dad' is... okay he doesn't need to be okay with it at first but hopefully comes around to it, okay with the two of them showing up on his doorstep soon.

And you know what, they're gonna bring him a gift.

One other thing I’ll say about the YA novel discourse is that, in terms of how easy or hard they are to read, I don’t think there’s actually that much difference between YA fiction and adult fiction on the whole. This opinion has some significant caveats; I’m talking about youth fiction aimed at teens and maybe tweens, not little kids, and I do think some adult fiction (like the denser classics and literary novels) is going to be more difficult. And I’m talking about how easy it is to comprehend what’s literally going on, not necessarily the deeper themes.

And this probably sounds like it’s leading up to some apologia re: adults reading YA, but actually the point I’m trying to make is that middle school kids should not be limited to reading YA novels in their language arts classes. And definitely high school kids shouldn’t be. If a kid’s reading a YA fantasy series or slice-of-life novel with relative ease and pleasure, there are plenty of classics that aren’t going to be a total slog for them.
