Word Count: 642 Warnings/Notes: Accidental jump scare by Hades, established relationship, mention of Hades ending his romantic relationship with Maleficent to be with the Reader, minor teasing, fluff, nuzzling, and kissing. Summary: Hades finds the Reader enjoying the weather outside and it becomes a cute little interaction.

  Merlin Academy. All were welcome and all were taught like any other enrolled student. Just beyond the titled plaque and ever watching statued owl, was a quaint little lake. That was where you found yourself one weekend.   Your jacket was laid out on a stretch of grass for you to sit on, and a book loosely in your grasp. The attention you had was far too busy taking in the scenery. How the gentle breeze rustled the leaved in the trees and created small rippling waves across the shimmering lake. It was almost magical.

  The overall serenity of the moment was feeling sensational until a warm breath tickled your neck and sent sharp spikes of alarm beneath your skin.   “You’re out here again?”   “Hades,” you exhaled. With a single hand to your chest, you took a steadying breath. “What did you do, appear in a smoky haze?”   The small spikes of his jacket rustled against the fabric on your back. “Not yet,” he smiled against the crook of your neck. “Did I scare you?”   “Yes, you did.”   His voice softened. “I didn’t mean to,” he said, pressing a kiss to your skin. “I’m sorry, I wanted to surprise you.”   You let out a small laugh. “Well, mission accomplished, Lord of the Underworld.”   “I should take you there some time,” he said. A smile returned to his voice. It was not entirely rare, but sometimes it’s what follows that does.   “Are there visiting hours?”   “I think I can work something out.”

  Nuzzling his face into your neck, his gloved hands delicately caressed your upper arms.   You pondered on his words for a moment. It was strikingly familiar to something that he had said before.   “Was that not what you said when you fell for me while you were still with Maleficent?”   He paused, his lips ghosting over your skin. “Literally or emotionally fell?”   Swatting at his hands, you laughed. “You know which.”   “Those were two very different instances.”   You rolled your eyes. “You do love fairies.”   He hummed, sending a chill down your body. “No. Just the one.”   “Good.”   Hades chuckled and dropped himself down onto his back beside you. “Good?” He smiled up at you.   “Yes. Or else what would’ve been all of those nights of you trying to find the words to tell Maleficent without shattering her heart and confidence? All the time afterward of us apart to spare us—me—her rage if she were to”—   Hades grabbed your hands and brought them to his chest. “She has no anger toward you. I know that much. It will only and ever be on me.” He sighed. “Besides…I think I gave her a confidence boost in saying that she’s too good for me. I didn’t lie. And don’t you go and get jealous, because I know that you’re too good for me too.”

  As he kissed each of your fingertips, you smiled. “You’re good too, you know.”   “Heh, enlighten me, because I doubt the professors would agree with you.”   “Skipping class does not mean you’re a bad person. Heck, Hades, you and I don’t necessarily have to be here given our ages. But…we are here to learn, right? That’s the whole reason in attending Merlin Academy. Merlin is so knowledgeable that I can’t even complete a list of subjects that he knows even if I tried.”   He gave a false frown. “I guess I can go to my classes more often.”   You tapped your finger against his lower lip teasingly. “Don’t you want a study partner to spend time with?”   The dark eyebrows on his face furrowed. “Morgie?”   “No!” You laughed and dropped to your side on him. “Me. I was talking about me,” your laugh mixed with his as you both quaked in laughter on the lawn. “You’re ridiculous.”   “No, I’m hot.”   “I know, what else is new?”

dtror!Hades x fairy!Reader: Good (Part 2)

Word Count: 1,171 Warnings/Notes: Established relationship with Hades, a brief jumpscare via Maleficent, a minor confrontation (verbally) with Maleficent, hissing, angst, Hook flipping his hair, sneaking off and kissing Hades. Summary: Leaving class, the Reader unexpectedly runs into an angry Maleficent wanting to know answers about the Reader’s relationship with Hades. With an interruption from Hook, the growing confrontation stops. Will Maleficent and the Reader settle their dispute? And, was Hades lurking nearby?

  Merlin Academy. Another day, another class completed for the day. Some days were better than others. It was still a school filled with adolescence after all.   Adjusting the strap of the bag over your shoulder, you walked leisurely through one ivory hall. It was crisp and clean. Much as Merlin would want an efficient learning environment to be. So, it was nice that some foliage was allowed to decorate the architecture.   One small potted tree in particular caught your attention. The vibrant heathy greens beckoned for your kind touch. As if guided by the plant itself, you reached out your hand.   HISS.   Retracting your hand, you nearly avoided the fangs of a seething Maleficent. You steadied your footing and stilled.   Stalking around the corner, she stared you down with a narrowed gaze. The only true surprise was that she was alone. That made her appearance all the more personal.

  “So…you’re with Hades now.”   It wasn’t a question. A challenge, perhaps?   “Yes,” you said with an ounce of caution in your voice.   “He must be going down the line of fairies.” Her upper lip curled in her disgust. Those intense eyes of hers stared you down as she played with her hair. “I didn’t know you were ever interested in him.”   “It was a surprise to me too.”   Baring her teeth, she hissed again. “When?”   “After.” You bit back a hiss of your own. Wanting to maintain a sense of calm, you took a breath. Two dragons in a hallway would certainly damage the architecture.   A fiery green illuminated over Maleficent’s eyes. And as she began to glare, you mirrored her actions.   Two determined fairies? One Greek God, and one long stretch of a hallway? The odds had yet to tally on the short lived confrontation. The sound of Captain James Hook’s voice cut through the magical stare down.

  “Mali! There you are,” he said as he approached. The heels of his boots clicking echoed in your ears.   Glowing green eyes ceased. Both fairies turning their attention to the young pirate.   “Having a little fairy to fairy talk, are we?”   Maleficent smiled at him wickedly. “Something like that.”   Grinning back, he swayed in his confidence. “Shall we be off, then?”   “We shall,” she agreed, looking elegantly smug.   “Bye, darling,” he looked to you. With a wave of his hook and a flip of his hair, he headed straight back up the hallway.

  “Maleficent.”   Maleficent paused a distance behind Hook. The clack of her heels somewhere between acknowledgement and a warning.   You kept your voice low. “Hades would never hurt you like that. He’s too caring and loyal”—   A flicker in her eyes was too brief to fully read. All too quickly, it was replaced by a defensive mask. “He’s weak”—   “Only in the knees.” You hardly hid the growing smirk over your lips.   She only rolled her eyes at your words.   “You could always go back to what you enjoyed…cursing entire kingdoms,” you suggested.   A curious yet skeptical groomed eyebrow rose on her face.   “After all…there’s no fiercer fairy.”   Maleficent hummed approvingly and gave you a once over with her gaze. “You’re right, and maybe…you’re not entirely dreadful.”   Pivoting on her heel, she left content to rejoin Hook. A drastically stark difference than her first initial approach. And as she and Hook disappeared down the corridor, you took a relieving breath.

  Striding out of a dark corner, Hades stepped over. Behind you, he placed reassuring hands on your shoulders. “That went better than I thought.”   “She’ll be all right. I mean, she cared about you obviously, so she’s still hurting. It takes time to work through. She just needs to blow off some steam, I think. All considering her anger.”   “Literally?”   “Possibly.”   Hades rubbed your shoulders with a relieving pressure. And as you were sinking into the feeling, he leaned in by your ear. “Do you need to blow off some steam?”   With a sigh, you leaned back against him. “Not particularly. Do you?”   “A little bit.” The unseen smile on his face evident in his voice.   “We’re between classes, and you said that you weren’t going to skip.”   “I can always make time for you,” he said, placing a kiss on your cheek. “Between classes…after school…before and after hanging out at the Black Lagoon.”   His sincere words made you smile. “It kinda sounds like you enjoy spending time with me.”   “Of course I do.” Sliding his hands down your arms, he only grabbed one of your hands before stepping around you. “Do you trust me?” He asked, a glint of mischief in his eyes.   “Yes.”   A vibrant smile spread across his face. Pulling you to his side, he turned and strode down an adjacent hallway.

  Maneuvering down the ivory halls of the academy, you began to notice something. The further you walked, there was less student activity. They were finding their own ways to classes and friends before any lessons were set to begin.   “Hades,” you laughed, “are you going to take us off of school grounds?”   He looked at you with an open grin. “Not this time.”

  Soon, his pacing slowed and the top tips of his hair swayed as he quickly glanced around.   “Hades?” You began to ask softly before he pulled the pair of you into a cozy corner.   He kissed your forehead tenderly as you settled your back against the cool wall. “I was making sure no one else was around.”   You smirked, “Only you would find a dark corner in a well lit building.”   “I have my ways,” he said with his own confident smirk.

  Hooking a finger under one of his necklaces, he peered down as you slowly pulled him toward you. “Hades,” you called his name sweetly.   Cupping your face, Hades leaned in to kiss you.   Contently, you sighed, coiling your hands around his wrists gently. Feeling the cool metal of his bracelet on one, and the warmth of his bare skin on the other.   A small step forward, and Hades pressed his body against yours. And with a tilt to his head, his thin lips claimed yours. The sense of care, passion, and shameless need echoed over each motion.

  As those sweet and heated moments added up, you were certain that you would ignore the ringing of any and all school bells.   Releasing your hold on his wrists, you reached up and dove your fingers into his gravity defying blue hair. The action elicited a particular noise from your partner. It was not one you were familiar with, but there was no doubt in your mind that it was a very positive reaction.

  RIIING

  With one final kiss to your lips, Hades sighed. “Class time, I guess,” he pouted, dropping his forehead to yours.   You smiled and twirled a strand of his hair around your finger. “We can always pick up where we left off later,” you suggested. “Maybe between completing assignments after school.”   He nudged the tip of his nose with yours. “I like that idea.”

Teen!Hades x Reader: Peculiar

Word Count: 586 Warnings/Notes: n/a Summary: The Reader is enjoying a quiet spot at Merlin’s Academy. While they are busy reading, Hades shows up.

  Absolute silence. A rarity at Merlin’s Academy as it hosted a flood of students. From royalty to ordinary citizen and beyond, everyone was welcome to learn.   Outside, you found yourself relishing in the absence of the usual chatter. In the shade of one of the small hallways, arching between the courtyard and the indoors, you read a book. The bench you were sitting on was not the least bit comfortable, but you did your best to ignore it. For the chance to catch up on a book that you had been craving to read all day? You took it.

  Turning a crisp page, you smiled to yourself at the words. What you did not expect was to actually hear any.   “And you’re reading…again.”   Hades. You had missed his approach. The potted tree blocked your view into the courtyard.   “Yes, that does tend to happen, doesn’t it?” You asked, not looking up at him. A ghost of a smile etched over your lips as he stood in front of you.

  One moment, then two. Hades remained quiet, stoic. Sometimes it was rather uncharacteristic of him.   You read through another paragraph before you peered up from the pages. “Did you need something?” You asked.   He shrugged, lips pressed together in a thin line. With his thumbs resting idly in his jacket pockets, there was not much else that he did.   Shaking your head with a small smile, you returned to reading.

  The dragons were not exactly how you had imagined they would be. However, you did have to consider that perhaps the author had never seen one in person either. Works of fiction each held their own interpretations.

  Double checking the previous page, you almost paused reading entirely. The fellow student standing within arm’s reach was becoming oddly distracting for someone who remained utterly still.   Shifting his weight in his boots, Hades looked in either direction, inspecting. Deeming it a suitable situation, he sat down beside you. He leaned back against the stone wall and shot you a look.   You were giggling to yourself. The feeling of his gaze bore into you from the action, but you did not care. If he had actually meant any ill will to you, it would have been obnoxiously obvious by now.   Despite the look he gave you, he said nothing. At least not verbally. He bumped his knee to yours once.   Apparently, as the circumstance would have it, Hades wanted to spend time with you. Even if you were reading. Despite any fiery igniting of his hair, he could be quite patient.

  Reaching the end of the chapter, you placed a bookmark between the pages and closed the book. You put it next to you before straightening up on the bench. It took a moment, but you managed to dig up a piece of foiled gum. Holding it up between you and the young god, you paused in waiting.   Surprised that it was still held within your grasp, you turned your head to look at him curiously.   Hades rose a skeptical eyebrow.   “It’s mint, Hades,” you assured and smirked. “You know…spicy cold.”   He rolled his eyes. “Please don’t.”   Likewise, your brows raised teasingly. “Please?”   He sighed, tilting his head back against the wall. Looking directly at you, he said, “You’re hilarious, you know that?” His voice was thick with sarcasm. Even so, he plucked the piece of gum out of your hold.   “You’re welcome,” you laughed.   “Yeah, thanks.”

  And so went the peculiar friendship that you both somehow understood.

dtror!Hades x fairy!Reader: Overwhelmed

Word Count: tba

Warnings/Notes: As titled, the Reader gets overwhelmed by all of the student commotion happening around them. Protective Hades and implied terrifying other students. Gender neutral insert reader! (I really should be tagging my fanfics with that). Implied that the Reader is a type of fairy more like Maleficent. Kinda hurt-comfort.

Summary: The Reader gets overwhelmed by suddenly dancing students, but before the Reader could react unpleasantly, Hades intervenes.

The bright and sunny day reflected into the courtyard within the grounds of Merlin Academy. Students eased by as they left their classes. Everything was as usual. Until it wasn't.

Previously unseen by you, emotions were heightened. A point so strong that the ones involved broke out into song.

It tended to happen from time to time. You were no stranger to it. But unlike the other students gathering around in synchronization, you felt no pull toward it. The rhythm was good, but still nothing.

However, as the number of students increased and their movements quickened, you stared unmoving. They drew closer to you. The voices thrummed in your ears unpleasantly. Loud and unrelenting. Their movements appeared to have no pause.

A warmth crept over your skin. A heaviness. The sounds echoing in your ears held no distinct words. No clarity, just noise. Through your eyes a thin filter/veil of blue/green flickered over your vision as you sputtered for a precise breath.

But amongst the chaos closing in, one figure moved forward, breaking through the line of constant motion. Hades. His head was inclined downward, as he prowled through with purpose. Paying no mind to anyone who accidentally brushed against his jacket as he passed by.

It was then that you had noticed your breathing had since picked up. Before or after catching sight of Hades, you were not sure.

When he was only two steps in front of you, he tilted his head ever so slightly. "You're letting them set you off, little fairy."

You felt a change. A lightness returning at the sound of his voice and his sudden closeness. As if he was blocking the unease. Or even, burning it away.

Light caught on the metal detailing of his attire. Even as he remained still, he was somehow breaking through to you. "Breathe. Find calm and return to yourself...or scare them off for the rest of their days."

Taking a conscious breath, you closed your eyes. You reached for that calmness that you so craved. The fire within felt to heavy to hold, to unleash. It was neither the time or place to react in such a manner. Perhaps it was best for no one to know just how great a fairy's power can truly be.

The next instance you opened your eyes, the courtyard was empty. To either side of Hades, you looked. Peculiar. Though, when you peered up to the young God in front of you, pieces were fitting together.

"Hades," you inquired of him. "What happened?" Considering that his vertically blue hair was aflame, you could only guess.

The corner of his mouth curved upward. "Nothing, really," he shrugged, dark brows raised casually.

Fairly certain with the answer, you decided to ask him anyway. "Did I do something to scare everyone off?"

"No," he said with a pout of his lips. "But...I don't think you'll have to worry about crowds for a while."

You sighed at the thought of what may have occurred and rubbed your temples. That calmness you had reached was beginning to morph into something else entirely. "Please tell me you didn't."

"Didn't what?" He countered, a smile playing at his lips.

Stepping around him, you got a better look at your surroundings. Parts of the stone pathway were scorched. Newly. Surely that was not caused by him simply glaring at the other students.

Off in the far corner, the rest of Ulianna's crew stood, almost huddled together. With over ten of them collectively and in a small space, it was quite the sight. A cautious curiosity.

"Hades," you implored, turning your back on them. "What if someone goes to Merlin about this?"

A confident smile shone on his face. "No. I don't think they will."

Your face scrunched in confusion. "Why?" You asked slowly.

"It's simple, really. People are afraid of fire."

With a raise of his eyebrows, you were locked into his gaze. Light misty eyes seared into your own. There was a mischievous sparkle in them that you could not tear away from.

"See you around, firefly," he smirked.

In a blink, you caught your breath in time for him to step around you. His head inclined, watching you as he did.

You paid no mind to the excited chatter in the courtyard behind you. Their energetic amusement was for whatever they had witnessed Hades do when you were not focused on him. Or focused on anything other than calming yourself.

You sighed. So much for remaining calm with the way he had looked at you. But what he did, you would never forget. Not so much the act itself, but rather the reason behind it. Why would he want to protect your inner world? Much less actually act upon it.

dtror!Hades x Reader: Fountain

Word Count: 1,221 Warnings/Notes: The Reader and other characters get surrounded by dancing students, the Reader becoming overwhelmed at the situation, the Reader falling into the fountain (unharmed), Hades setting the courtyard on fire, and characters concerned for the Reader’s well-being.

Summary: Leaving class with Morgie and Hades, the Reader and their friends encounter a musical predicament as students accidentally block their way and cause an incident that Hades does not take lightly. A/N: This is more of a Hades and Morgie x Reader, while also being a Uliana’s crew x Reader at the last half. It got out of hand for initially being a Hades x Reader haha.

  Slinging your bag over your shoulder, you yawned.   “Class wasn’t that bad,” Hades said, walking over to your table.   As the rest of the students left the classroom, you three remained. The third being Morgie. The son of Morgana le Fay slid over beside Hades.   “Yeah,” he agreed with his friend. “We learned more in today’s class than in all of last week’s!”   “It’s not that,” you shrugged, “I guess I’m just feeling… off today.”   “Oh.” They nodded slowly in understanding.   “Come on.” You gave a small smile before turning to head out the door.

  The sea of hormones had ebbed, and the three of you were to walk without a single student in your way. Not that either of you were in a rush. The next class would not begin for another few minutes. There was always plenty of time to reset and socialize between classes. Maybe not enough time for some, but things consuming more time would just have to wait until later.

  As the three of you made your way over to one of the courtyards, you quickly found where a good portion of the student body had congregated.   “This is the second time today,” you observed as rhythmical lyrics continued in the area.   “And we haven’t even had lunch yet,” Morgie agreed. Swaying his head from side to side, he grabbed his friend’s attention.   “Are you going to join?” Hades asked with raised brows.   A brief moment of thought and Morgie stilled. “No,” he said, looking to the blue haired boy. “I mean… it sounds great and all, but I have no idea who they’re singing about. And besides… they’ve already started singing. I don’t just want to jump in.”   Hades smiled, humored. “That hasn’t stopped you before.”   “You can be very determined,” you added, patting Morgie’s shoulder.   “Yeah.”

  While your conversation sided the song performing in front of you, you three failed to notice one thing in particular. A group of singing students danced dangerously close to where you were standing.   “Uh…maybe we should”—   “Move?” Hades finished your suggestion.   “Yep.”

  With a single hand, you ushered Morgie forward. He slithered around toward the door across the stone walkway. But as your hopes for an easy retreat came to their height, it crashed down.   The dancing within the space changed tempo. To avoid a collision with two students, you side stepped and twirled out of their path, your hand slipping away from the silky texture of Morgie’s shirt in the process.   A small gasp left your lips as you leant back, narrowly avoiding an extended arm as the students continued a spritely routine. They moved forward, and you moved back. It was an unsavory dance, dodging physically artistic motions as they seemed to unconsciously target you.

  Continuing to back away, your head was nearly whipping back and forth in an attempt to keep track of their motions. As you looked up, you caught Hades doing the same. At least the students appeared to miss him with each move.   The overwhelming nature of the situation pounded in your ears. But not more so in the next moment. Stepping quickly, a pressure pushed against the back of your leg. It did not move, however, in reflex your other leg did, trying to regain balance as your world tipped over and the strap to your bag slipped off of your arm to safety.   A sudden coolness enveloped you. You did not breathe. The water of the fountain was far deeper than anticipated at first glance. It muffled out the majority of the music beyond the surface. Though it was a lot calmer, you could not stay like that forever.

  Pushing yourself up, all that you could see behind the edge of the fountain was orange and red fire. Little wisps of it burning a bright white. The flames flared up from left to right. With a slosh of water, you sat up. You watched as students fled the courtyard with screams of panic. Their terrified expressions were sure to imprint in your mind for some time.   Soon, the fire encompassing the area cooled down and burnt itself out. Standing in the middle of it all was only one student: Hades. Even his most closest friends, Uliana’s crew, were no where to be seen. However, you had an inkling that they were staying at a safe but observant distance. Why would they miss such a spectacle of Hades’ fury?

  Hades’ flaming locks too cooled down, no longer holding a flame on his head. His shoulders sank down, the silver spikes on his jacket not threatening to create an additional piercing on his earlobes.   Taking a breath, Hades took one solid glance around. In the next breath, he strode over to the fountain. He propped one boot up on the edge for leverage and leaned down to offer a hand to you.   There was a pause as you stared at his hand. The collision of all that had happened coming to a sloping halt. Again, you looked up at his face after the shock of it all.   “Unless you want to stay in the water…”   His confused tone snapped you out of your daze. Blinking, you caught up with the present reality. With a wet grasp, you took ahold of his gloved hand. He yanked you up into a standing position and carefully step out of the fountain with godly ease.

  At the sound of your squishy wet boots, you looked down at the footwear. “Great,” you sighed, looking back up to Hades with the hopes of ignoring the feeling around your feet.   “Are you all right?” He asked, releasing his hold on your hand.   “Aside from the obvious? Yeah. Not fond of it… but yeah.”

  A multitude of approaching footsteps caught the attention of the pair of you.   “Hot stuff,” Uliana smiled approvingly at the surrounding courtyard as the group got closer.   “You even burnt that tree to a crisp!” Morgie bounced over to Hades’ side. “It’s still smoking!”   Hades’ brows raised and all eyes glanced at the aforementioned foliage.   Maleficent dragged her fingertips down Hades’ arm with a small smile. “Maybe I should redecorate it with thorns to match?”   Hades said nothing as he looked at her, but a smile pulled at the corner of his lips.

  As the attention on Hades swayed, the others looked to you.   Hook turned to you with an examining tilt of his head. “Sorry, love,” his upper lip curled, “but you look like you just swam around my ship.”   “Heh, I feel more like the dropped anchor,” you replied with a dry laugh, retrieving your dropped bag from the ground.   Hook’s brows furrowed in concern, his charm momentarily lost. “Are you hurt?”   “No,” you gave a small toothless grin to further reassure him. “Now, don’t go scheming a revenge plot while I go change.”   “And dry off,” he added with a flourishing gesture of his hook.   You frowned.   Uliana placed a gentle hand to your shoulder. “No promises on the no scheming though.”   “I wouldn’t expect anything less from the Academy’s most wicked.”   With a shared smile, laughter rang out from the group. There was no telling if or when they would conjure up a plan on your behalf. If they were to get revenge for you… it would have to be perfect.

"The next instance you opened your eyes, the courtyard was empty."

Joyous day!!!

I can imagine everyone just dispersing. Like nope!

dtror!Hades x fairy!Reader: Overwhelmed

Word Count: tba

Warnings/Notes: As titled, the Reader gets overwhelmed by all of the student commotion happening around them. Protective Hades and implied terrifying other students. Gender neutral insert reader! (I really should be tagging my fanfics with that). Implied that the Reader is a type of fairy more like Maleficent. Kinda hurt-comfort.

Summary: The Reader gets overwhelmed by suddenly dancing students, but before the Reader could react unpleasantly, Hades intervenes.

The bright and sunny day reflected into the courtyard within the grounds of Merlin Academy. Students eased by as they left their classes. Everything was as usual. Until it wasn't.

Previously unseen by you, emotions were heightened. A point so strong that the ones involved broke out into song.

It tended to happen from time to time. You were no stranger to it. But unlike the other students gathering around in synchronization, you felt no pull toward it. The rhythm was good, but still nothing.

However, as the number of students increased and their movements quickened, you stared unmoving. They drew closer to you. The voices thrummed in your ears unpleasantly. Loud and unrelenting. Their movements appeared to have no pause.

A warmth crept over your skin. A heaviness. The sounds echoing in your ears held no distinct words. No clarity, just noise. Through your eyes a thin filter/veil of blue/green flickered over your vision as you sputtered for a precise breath.

But amongst the chaos closing in, one figure moved forward, breaking through the line of constant motion. Hades. His head was inclined downward, as he prowled through with purpose. Paying no mind to anyone who accidentally brushed against his jacket as he passed by.

It was then that you had noticed your breathing had since picked up. Before or after catching sight of Hades, you were not sure.

When he was only two steps in front of you, he tilted his head ever so slightly. "You're letting them set you off, little fairy."

You felt a change. A lightness returning at the sound of his voice and his sudden closeness. As if he was blocking the unease. Or even, burning it away.

Light caught on the metal detailing of his attire. Even as he remained still, he was somehow breaking through to you. "Breathe. Find calm and return to yourself...or scare them off for the rest of their days."

Taking a conscious breath, you closed your eyes. You reached for that calmness that you so craved. The fire within felt to heavy to hold, to unleash. It was neither the time or place to react in such a manner. Perhaps it was best for no one to know just how great a fairy's power can truly be.

The next instance you opened your eyes, the courtyard was empty. To either side of Hades, you looked. Peculiar. Though, when you peered up to the young God in front of you, pieces were fitting together.

"Hades," you inquired of him. "What happened?" Considering that his vertically blue hair was aflame, you could only guess.

The corner of his mouth curved upward. "Nothing, really," he shrugged, dark brows raised casually.

Fairly certain with the answer, you decided to ask him anyway. "Did I do something to scare everyone off?"

"No," he said with a pout of his lips. "But...I don't think you'll have to worry about crowds for a while."

You sighed at the thought of what may have occurred and rubbed your temples. That calmness you had reached was beginning to morph into something else entirely. "Please tell me you didn't."

"Didn't what?" He countered, a smile playing at his lips.

Stepping around him, you got a better look at your surroundings. Parts of the stone pathway were scorched. Newly. Surely that was not caused by him simply glaring at the other students.

Off in the far corner, the rest of Ulianna's crew stood, almost huddled together. With over ten of them collectively and in a small space, it was quite the sight. A cautious curiosity.

"Hades," you implored, turning your back on them. "What if someone goes to Merlin about this?"

A confident smile shone on his face. "No. I don't think they will."

Your face scrunched in confusion. "Why?" You asked slowly.

"It's simple, really. People are afraid of fire."

With a raise of his eyebrows, you were locked into his gaze. Light misty eyes seared into your own. There was a mischievous sparkle in them that you could not tear away from.

"See you around, firefly," he smirked.

In a blink, you caught your breath in time for him to step around you. His head inclined, watching you as he did.

You paid no mind to the excited chatter in the courtyard behind you. Their energetic amusement was for whatever they had witnessed Hades do when you were not focused on him. Or focused on anything other than calming yourself.

You sighed. So much for remaining calm with the way he had looked at you. But what he did, you would never forget. Not so much the act itself, but rather the reason behind it. Why would he want to protect your inner world? Much less actually act upon it.
