Something was weird about Kid,

(not like there ever ISN'T something weird about him lmao.)

But more than usual, Kid was fixing his hair more often, making sure no dust was on his clothes, and taking FOREVER to get ready.

Liz and Patty noticed this, and Patty immediately ran up to Kid and jumped to the conclusion that he liked someone.

Kid denied this fervently, refusing to acknowledge Patty's words, but with the way he reacted, Liz knew it had to be true.

Liz tried to ask him who it was, but Kid kept denying he ever liked someone in the first place and ran off. 💀

Liz and Patty had a mission, and it was to find out who Kid was interested in.

For the next few days, Liz and Patty followed Kid in the shadows, trying to see if he ever reacts differently to someone he talks to.

Eventually Kid comes up to you, and he's unnaturally uptight and stiff, Liz and Patty smirk widely at this.

They found out who it was.

Immediately, before Liz can catch Patty, the latter runs up to Kid, tackling him as soon as you leave, yelling that he likes you and Kid has to cover her mouth to shut her up

He drags Liz and Patty elsewhere to scold them about being so loud about it

Liz offers him help, but Kid denies in embarrassment, and eventually walks away from them.

So Liz comes up with a plan, she would help from the background, like pulling strings,

If her, Kid and Patty were assigned a project together?

Aw man...her and Patty gotta go back home cause they forgot something..

Subtly making Kid have to find a new partner for the project, which would be you

Patty has other ideas, and constantly teases Kid about his interest in you, almost telling you straight up

"HEY (Y/N) DID YOU KNOW THAT KID-"

insert Kid slapping his hand on her mouth and dragging her away

In the end, Liz and Patty for want what's best for him, so they do their best to help him.

If Kid ever comes to them for help, Liz would give genuine advice, like, give them gifts or take them somewhere

So Kid does this, but is always stiff and uptight whenever you two spend time with each other,

Eventually, you or him confess to each other, and Liz and Patty watch from the shadows, giving each other a high five

classical music echoed through the large room. only for it to be accompanied by steps of two people, you and kid.

there was little to no conversation between the both of you, knowing that you were simply focusing on each step and sway, so was he.

it was quite uncommon for you to be in this predicament, but it was much more surprising when kid asked you if the both of you could practice the waltz.

in all honesty, you weren't even sure why you even accepted. you didn't have much talent or knowledge on dance. yet, there was a little thought on your head to just accept the offer. who knows what might become of this encounter?

not to mention, you've been admiring kid for quite a while now. with his elegance and perfection, it'd be impossible for you to just ignore him. it seemed he has captured your heart, yet you never mustered up the courage to tell him.

the both of you continued to sway with the music, glancing looks towards each others. you weren't really sure where to look, and you were fighting every urge not to stare at kid's enchanting golden eyes; not attempting to make things awkward.

you continued to stare around the room and admire the jewels and details that adorned the room, considering that he was the son of death, it wasn't surprising that he'd be wealthy or the sorts.

as the music went on longer, you noticed that his grip on you hand tightened. his eyes looking anywhere other than your's, and the slight redness of his face had been noticeable. you raised an eyebrow at this but brushed it off.

meanwhile, kid had only realized the situation he's in now. for some reason, he only comprehended now that he was quite close to you, and that his hand was interlocked with yours whilst the other was on your waist.

only then did he speak up. "[name], how do you feel— right now." coughing up what ever he could out of his brain.

slightly surprised, you answered him with a small 'just fine'. though, now you regret having said such a short answer, since the atmosphere between the both of you became awkward.

kid spoke up once more, asking, "do you, perhaps, like anyone?" he questioned.

you kept your face down, more preferably anywhere he could not see your flustered face. with your mind a bit jumbled up, you seemed to ignore his question. yet your surprise did not go unnoticed by kid as you started fumbling the steps in the dance.

he called your name once more, and only then did you look up. with your eyes fixated towards the side, you sheepishly answered his question. "yes, i may have a crush or liking on someone." still keeping your gaze anywhere from his.

finally, the music ended. kid released his hands from yours, whilst you did the same.

kid had begun walking to the record player within the room, assuming that he'd either remove or replay the vinyl.

you continued your answer from earlier, "to be more specific, i love someone." you said with your back facing kid. your sudden words caught his attention, piquing his curiosity.

"and could i ask who this 'someone' might be?" he said, walking away the record player, now towards you.

you turned around, finally facing him. "well, this 'someone' is standing right infront of me. i like you, kid." your heart was racing, you really just confessed.

kid smiled, a soft one filled with care. "i'm quite glad, because i like you too."

you stepped closer, laying your hands on his shoulders, contemplating whether you should kiss him or not.

yet it seems he beat you to it. both his hands held your face towards his, he asked; "may i?". understanding the implication, you nodded.

the gap between the both of you closed, as he finally kissed you.

soooo Liz had to spill the beans and boom you're a thing now

after a while of being with you he remembers how he can't see your soul and asks about it

you offer a long silence, which worries the young shinigami

and when you tell him the truth he is conflicted

yes the entire point of the DWMA was to rid the world of kishins and witches who have the instinct to destroy but you were his significant other

you hadn't shown the slightest signs of giving in to those so called instincts and had been nothing but good to your peers

and if your plan was to destroy the DWMA from the inside out, why were you being so open with him right now?

but when it comes down to it, Kid loves and trusts you

when the rest of the students at the DWMA find out he is quick to protect you from any haters

Liz actually flips her shit after finding out you were a witch this entire time but Kid would literally argue with her until the day he dies if it meant defending you

and when he says something about it to Lord Death he's like "oh I knew that"

and Kid is annoyed that his own father didn't say anything

but after this his trust in you deepens, knowing that his dad also trusts you enough to let you attend the DWMA and walk around Death City freely

if anything this new knowledge just strengthens your relationship :3

I heard another tired yawn next to me and of course it was my girlfriend who was studying instead of sleeping at night. Staying up late was actually a habit of hers that constantly worried me. Whether it was studying, playing games or other things, she did it all late. I have to change it somehow, luckily she stayed overnight because Patty literally dragged her here. [Name] had her head resting on her hand, slightly dozing off as Liz painted her nails and Patty did her hair.

"Whaaa Liz! You painted her nails beautifully!!" Patty exclaimed as she looked at [Name] nails which were black with white stars and a skull. "Right? And you too-" Liz looked at how messy Patty had made her hair, she had clips and tied hair everywhere. She was too sleepy to say anything so she let Patty continue. I didn't want her to be tortured like that so I got up from the chair and walked over to girls.

"Guys, I think [Name] should go to sleep now." Patty started to pout a little because she hadn't finished doing [Name]'s hair, but Liz placed her hand over her mouth, silencing her. "Come on Patty, let's go, lovers here prefer to be left alone." Liz quickly ran out with Patty before I said anything. Suddenly I felt someone hug me from behind and wrap their arms around me, causing a little pink to appear on my cheeks, knowing it was [Name]. I turned carefully to face her, she still had that terribly unsymmetrical hairstyle, so I took it all out of her hair while she just hugged me, burying her face in the crook of my neck. I was more used to the fact that she was so touchy, which didn't bother me at all. It was a cute sight.

"Let's go put you to bed. You look like Sid-sensei." She just said a quiet "hey" as she stopped hugging me and took my hand to walk towards my room.

We entered my clean room and climbed into my bed together. Luckily we had already changed earlier so we didn't have to worry about that now. [Name] immediately moved towards me and hugged me, putting her head on my chest and she wrapped her arms around my waist. I smiled, placing one hand on her back and the other hand on her head, stroking her hair to help her fall asleep faster.

"Goodnight sleepyhead." I kissed her head and closed my eyes to fall asleep with her.

Kid is really thankful for this. He has never someone care for him in the ways that you do. Usually, people would laugh at him or yell at him for this but you made it seem like you care. Which you did. He had Liz and Patty but they didn’t comfort him like you did. They only did that just to get back to what they were doing.

He would lean into your embrace as you said sweet nothings into his ear. Despite how your fellow friends always ask you how you deal with him, he is glad to hear that it all takes patience and understanding. It was nice to hear that from you cause he knows your not just saying that just to be saying it, you say it because you love him just the way he is and you will still love him despite his flaws.

-when you two first start to go out you both agree to hide it from both of your dads as long as you can (#single fathers club)

-because a.) Stein is terrifying and b.) Lord Death is a messy bitch that's here for the drama

-so most dates are lowkey, cafes, studying at the library etc...

You and Death were on a date. You were listening to his rant about how Liz and Patty hung up a panting so crooked that he was going to die. He was on this rant since you left. You two were going to a fancy restaurant that he picked out. You put on a fancy dress for the date and done your hair and makeup as you made your eyeshadow and eyeliner symetrical the best you could. When he noticed how you look he couldn’t stop complimenting you. You two went in the restaurant as you saw how many people were in there. To be fair you weren’t good with big crowds.

You started to fidget a bit. You started the breath heavy feeling your heart race. You looked around feeling that people were looking at you judging you. You didn’t like the bug crowd at all. Death noticed how shaky you were getting. He got up and reached out his hand. “We don’t have to wait. Let’s go somewhere less crowded.” He smiled down at you as you tucked a piece of hair behind your ear and nod while taking his hand. While holding his hand you felt safe and you were so glad he understood what you were feeling.

He brought you to a restaurant that was fancy but less crowded. You felt so much better as it was quiet and only a few people in there since it was a bit late anyway. You two had the best time laughing and talking about the jobs you take and a bit of Deaths issues he has with symmetrical. Long after you two walked out as you smiled and thanked him for the best night. He smiled at you and kissed your cheek glad he made you happy.
