Best gag in Deep Space Nine was how "In the Cards" showed Morn walking away from an auction with a tacky painting of a Matador, and then when we actually see Morn's quarters in "Who Mourns for Morn", that's like...the only thing in them.

I know you don't read DS9 fanfic so I wanted to tell you this bc I thought you'd appreciate it: while fanfic loves to fill in gaps from canon usually, I have never read Morn speak in any of the reams of DS9 fanfic I've read. Every fanfic writer is just quietly committed to maintaining the joke from the show about Morn's long speeches being referenced by other characters, but the man himself never actually talking on-page anymore than he does on-screen. This brings me so much joy.

It brings me joy too! The truth is, we writers could never do justice to Morn's amazing rambling brilliant insightful monologs, so we just left them unsaid.

(The real truth is he was technically an extra and we weren't allowed to write lines for him, so we turned it into a bit.)
