I think the reason I like the collectathon nature of HMDS/Cute, Sunshine Islands, and Magical Melody is that they encourage you to go out and do a bunch of random things, only some of which are related to the farm.
Giving this person enough gifts gives you a Sun Stone? Let's start giving out more gifts!
You freed a Harvest Sprite by buying a drink at the bar? What happens if you buy things from other places, or eat a bunch of other things?
You get a note for not going in buildings for ten hours? Well, it talks about what the weather is... maybe do it again?
It's great. Gives you a reason right from the start to do as much exploration as possible. Will convince people to do something stupid over and over in the hopes of getting results this time.

finally, my dragons are quested
#i’m not a game collector the ds remakes of the zenithian trilogy are something of rare games here#plus in the mobile version of dq4 they finished localising the part chat and dq5 got an update to tie in with dragon quest your story#and dq6 you don’t have to tag other players for the dream thing so i think they’re the best versions#the mobile versions of the erdrick trilogy were the most recent versions and the only versions available in this country before the switch

in dragon quest ix, slime stacks have an ability that makes slimes rain from the sky to hit your whole party.
the english localisation team made the greatest decision ever for the battle text to say "it's raining splats and blobs"
