So, I was scrolling through all the character examination quotes on the DST wiki (not an uncommon pastime for me) and encountered the record and gramophone items which led me, a lover of random slice of life lore of these nerds, to wonder;

What music do these characters like?

So I flipped through the 4 records and each characters quote for them; taking note of who had positive or negative feelings about each (as well as little details I liked) so heres what I found.

Wigfrid is a sweetie, saying that she wants to keep the classic record (Ragtime) away so 'her ally' (Maxwell) doesn't have to hear it again. Willow on the other hand is a little shit

Maxwell and Wilson are both traumatized by Ragtime but Maxwell appears to have taken it much harder (which does make sense, he dealt with it longer)

Multiple of the characters have been haunted by Ragtime in some way, though they're not all sure when they heard it

Wurt is very picky and decisive about her music tastes, whereas Wanda has a very 'Kids these days' attitude about it and WX-78 doesn't like any songs.

The spider half of Webber's favorite song is 'Creepy Forest' but Webber as a whole also likes D.R style.

Wilson is fascinated by 'modern' record tech

Maxwell just doesn't like any music at this point

Wortox says he heard D.R Style (which is only used in some trailers) 'in a dream'. I don't know what this means but it feels notable, especially because he's the only one who mentions any familiarity with it.

Zayne: “You’re adorable.”

Rafayel: “Hey! If the only reason we needed him is cause he’s adorable then I can just take the blame!”

Zayne: “No, you’re cute not adorable. This requires adorable, cute wont cut it. Maybe next time though. Xavier we may have accidentally deleted all of MC’s favorite songs from thier laptop. Since you’re capable of puppy eyes we need you to take the blame.”

Xavier: “I’m sorry you guys what?!”

Rafayel: “It was an accident!”

Sylus: “An accident that will certainly be the end of us.”

Zayne: “Xavier, the last time I accidentally did something this bad MC didn’t let me eat any sweets for half a year. I can’t do that again.”

Xavier: “…fine. But you guys owe me big time!”

Zayne: “Thank you, I am forever in your debt.” *Starts to aggressively ruffle Xavier’s hair.*

Rafayel: “What are you doing?”

Zayne: “Xavier’s adorableness increases when he just wakes up. I’m not taking any chances so I’m making his hair look more messy.”

Rafayel: “….I’ll go get the pajamas MC bought him.”

Sylus: “I’ll go warm up some milk so he’ll get more tired.”

Xavier: “You guys are so lucky I have MC’s favorite songs saved on my phone.”

Sylus finally coming home at 3am after a night of negotiations:

Sylus: “I need to eat…and then shower…and then cuddle MC before she wakes up for work….”

Sylus: “Chef, what did you cook for me toni-?! MC???”

MC: “You’re back!”

Sylus a bit stunned: “Why are you awake? You should be sleeping, darling?”

MC: “Me? Oh haha I’m always awake at this time talking with our chef. Did you know he got a puppy last week? Darling, PLEASE let him bring his puppy here!“

Sylus: “You need to go to sleep…unless you suddenly quit your job as a hunter which I would wholeheartedly support, I can’t let this sleep deprived kitten out.” picks her up in bridal style “I’m sorry. I probably stink. Don’t worry, I’ll shower before joining you.”

MC: “What about the puppy??”

Sylus chuckles: “I’ll tell the cook. What my wife wants, she’ll simply gets.”

Sylus naturally is very warm and only heats up more when pressed against someone and his weight mimics one of a weighted blanket. I didn’t expect them to fall asleep together though.”

Xavier: “And you’re taking pictures, why?”

MC: “Do you know how hard it is to find blackmail against Sylus?”

Xavier: “…send those to me.”

Rafayel: “Yeah me too.”
