there was a small earthquake here just last night

it was hardly more than a single jolt that i could almost be convinced was just the house settling if my heart wasnt racing in the specific way it always does (and only does) when i did legitimately feel the ground move

i had just had time to stand up from my chair tp start heading fora desk to hide under but the shaking stopped and all that adrenaline in my body wanted action but had nowhere to go

i ended up doing all my dishes before i sat down and realized id done so
