I really like the movie Twisters. My favorite part has to be at the end were Tyler Owens got himself put on the no fly list, terrorist watchlist, and had to hire a really really good lawyer all to not kiss the girl.

so i feel the need to add context to this map. what this map indicates are states where laws have been passed to make employers add specific time off hours for voting. you get "X" amount of sick and "X" amount of vacation hours per year. in most states you get "X" amount of voting hours. if you live in a state that doesn't give these specified hours your employer still can not stop you from taking time to vote. Voting is a constitutional right. no employer can stop you from taking time to vote. if they try that they are breaking the law.

I was today years old when i found out that i was allowed time off to vote. Something no boss has ever told me.

I really think people have forgotten just how bad things were under the Trump Administration. Literally every day there was news about some service being cut or someone terrible appointed somewhere they shouldn't be or what have you. He constantly flirted with WW3 and military dictatorship. It was such a blur of badness that there aren't big standouts for people to point to to make him "the XYZ president." it was everything. all the time. Why do we not remember this.

just to clarify this man did not shoot the shooter.  he and other police officers went to a different wing of the school and got his daughter and by extension other kids out of the school.   he did not engage with the shooter at all.  let alone kill him. please don’t let the NRA nutjobs run with this story.  no “good guy with a gun” die harded his way into that school and single handily take out that shooter. they are trying to change the narrative.  we can’t let anyone forget that a bunch of police officers armed with ballistic shields and tactical gear decided to let an active shooter locked in a classroom of elementary school kids for over an hour.

ok so to clarify i don’t know a lot of Star Trek lore and stuff.  just got into it and watch the newer stuff.  But i do know the story behind that first interracial kiss. so when the kiss was pitched the writers and directors had to fight tooth and nail to get it approved.  and when they did it was with the stipulation that they film 2 of the scene.  one in which the characters kissed and one where they didn’t. and everyone on that set knew that if the studio had an even half way decent take of the non-kiss version of the scene they would run with it.  so every actor in that scene (without the kiss) fucked up in ways that made it completely unusable.  forcing the studio to have to run the episode with the kiss or have a few minutes of dead air.
