Dropout is great because while on a traditional network nowadays you would have one knockout concept and be done with it never revisiting it again dropouts like “okay we love doing that now let’s do it AGAIN and AGAIN and make it BETTER and more COOL and more ENJOYABLE and let’s keep doing it until our hearts tell us to stop and we love doing it so that might be never so long as we’re passionate about it” and that’s so fucking cool, in an era of commodified creativity the enthusiastic passion for the arts that drives dropout is not only refreshing but heartwarming and cathartic as a fellow creative who would love to have the chance to do what I love to do like that.

I love that Dropout is so pro-union that they just stopped production without checking to see if their contracts were stuck
I mean i also love that they are able to keep making content now but just the solidarity of “NOBODY CROSSES THE PICKET LINES FIRST AND WE FIGURE OUT WHERE WE ARE SECOND”

personally i think the players should've gotten to vote who was the favourite character each time bc that just felt a bit weird. they were just too scared of the granma sweetie sweep they knew would happen

seeing that they’re doing another minis auction and it’s their biggest one yet and for fantasy high so presumably gonna make bank and they’re doing it to help send aid to Palestine rather than make a profit made me weep, i truly think no other streaming service can come close to comparing to dropout

What we know about the Game Changer season six finale
Two parts
The only game changer episode(s) entirely off site, not in the studio at all
The only clip in the trailer that hasn't been in a released episode (and maybe gives us a slight hint of what's going to happen) is Jess getting a spa(?) and saying "This is chaotic, I'm enjoying myself"
There were eighteen to twenty cameras!
They needed extra time to edit it
One of the most complicated episodes they've ever done
Safe to say, I am incredibly excited. The anticipation is REAL

Elmville, home of the augefort adventuring academy, spire’s premiere high school for heroes. When you’re here, you’re family, it’s called being gay. Fantasy high Junior Year. Hoot Growl. Hoot Growl. Hoot Growl. Hoot Growl.”

I'm calling it right now, in next week's behind the scenes they're going to comment on the video/audio degradation and intercutting of home movies and be like "there were unexpected complications with the upload but we did our best"
I've only just begun to pull the thread on this sweater, friends

Dropout is special because it’s made by people that really like each other (or are really good at publicly faking it) and really love the content they make
Dropout is the closest thing we’ve got to an artist commune in the streaming space
and yeah, they gotta make money because we live in a capitalist hellscape and thus everyone involved needs to be paid
but like, from everything i’ve heard it’s fair pay
and like, if we find ourselves in a society where people can do what they want and not have to worry about money
I feel like Dropout would still be there
Anyway, it’s like $6 a month and has great artisanal programming
so, like, check it out if you want something to watch made by people that don’t seem to suck

Most underappreciated bit of the entire episode (which was the single best Make Some Noise episode by the way) was Zac closing tabs and getting the comment "Wow, that's a lot of ads for 6 and 7 bedroom houses" and going "Yeah, can you imagine?"

Huh, Dropout has a 3 day free trial?
Is 3 days enough time to watch all of D20, Very Important People, Make Some Noise, Play It By Ear, Game Changer, Thousandaries, Smartypants, Um Actually and Dirty Laundry?
(On a positive note, if I get a summer job this year, I might get Dropout subscription for 2 or 3 months!)

Season premiere of Very Important People with Anna Garcia as the guest was incredible. Her kid voice was such a 2000s cartoon kid voice. Perfection. Vic is always a delight. Anna always comes out with some absolutely off the wall shit to say.
I really thought they’d make a joke about the popular eggcorn “they take me for granite” and then Vic would say “It’s ‘granted’ actually” and then Anna would say, “Not in my case.” That’s just been revolving in my head since the beginning.
It’s interesting to see the stuff that breaks Vic. You get an impression of their sense of humour. Seems to be the darker jokes. This show is so fun and I love watching these professional improv comics really flex their skills. It’s really impressive how good they are at improvising a half-hour interview.
