How cool is it that Black and White introduced Zoroark, a dark type Pokemon that naturally gets Night Slash, and has the ability to disguise itself as other Pokemon, in the same region that they introduced Cofagrigus, a ghost type that can nullify abilities if hit with a physical attack?
I know Heatmor and Durant get all of the attention as Unova's predator/prey dynamic, but this is some grade-A worldbuilding right here.

A list of all the pokemon my younger brother named after me while playing his first Pokemon game, White, ranked in order of how baffled I am while wondering where he got the idea to do so from:
Petilil (It's a grass-type, and I made grass-types my entire identity when I was a kid. It's an early route pokemon and he probably wanted to have a pokemon named after me because I named a lillipup after him. This checks out.)
Lilligant (A separate pokemon from the Petilil— same reasoning as above, but possibly even more clear because I used to dress up in big poofy costume skirts when I was younger.)
Venipede (I represented myself as a Scolipede for a while there in drawings, so this, too, is sensible of a connection.)
Mienshao (orange and purple were my THING for a while there. I see the reasoning, if not any similarities in vibes between me and Mienshao.)
Altaria (Not gonna lie, I think he probably only named this one after me because I talked about liking Altaria a couple times. Other than that, I don't know why he'd feel inclined to name it that.)
Volcarona (Um... Maybe because I'd catch woolly bear caterpillars as a kid and try to raise them into their adult tiger moth forms? I'm drawing a blank, guys.)
Tynamo (Why? What was going through his head when he named this electric eel? What was his thought process? What made him think of me??)
Drilbur (??????????????)

Would it be possible to list what Pokemon didn't appear on any pills? I get it if that's too much work...
It's a little bit of work, but not enough to deter me! Here's a read more with it, because. It's a long list ^^; I'm putting any regional variants or mega evos at the end!

I love talking about Pokémon in the smallmas au (idkw borrow aus get rid of them so much, let borrows and Pokémon coexist) so here's more ideas:
Small Ingos main Pokémon friends: Litwick, Drilbur, Axew.
Small Emmets main Pokémon friends: Tynamo, Joltik, Archen.
Drilbur lives in your garden and likes to ruin your flower patches, Ingo often sneaks them human food in exchange for plants and herbs since he's better at scavenging indoors than foraging outdoors.
Axew is an abandon Pokémon which is why it's so far from it's native home. Since Reader feeds them and allows them to live on their property, it's taken to protecting Reader and their garden. Ingo was able to convince it to protect Emmet and himself too by feeding it berries too which is why they have yet to be attacked by Pidoves.
Archen is tricky since it's a fossil, it's either given to Reader as a house warming gift (since they now 'live alone') or a Pokémon they pet watch regularly. Emmet regularly hangs out with it since it's fast, can fly and he can hide in it's feathers like they do with Joltik, Ingo wouldn't be caught dead riding Archen and tells Emmet off ever time he catches him doing so.
Awww
The Litwick is there because the house is old, and the reader doesn’t mind it hanging around. The tynamo lives out in the ponds and rivers (or maybe they live near a ocean?) and the reader feeds it sometimes.
What cuteness!

Ingo's Jacked
OK so I had to write this post into existence you're welcome
A little OOC but it was in the favor of the funny
Word Count: ~1200
Emmet smiled broadly. Finally, he and Ingo had a day off. Usually on days off, they just laid around at home, but Emmet had wanted to show Ingo some of their favorite places from their childhood, since Ingo still had not seen them since his disappearance - and subsequent reappearance. Ingo was definitely regaining his memories, but he did not have everything back yet. Emmet wished to remedy this. He led Ingo up the mountainside by the hand, grinning at his twin. Ingo frowned back at him, his eyes glittering with excitement.
“Did you remember something?”
“Yes. I remember the day you found your Tynamo here.” He paused, his eyebrows knitting in concentration. “And… I believe I found Drilbur that day, too. We were supposed to be home early but you saw Tynamo retreat into Chargestone Cave and you wanted it.” Emmet nodded.
Things were definitely getting better.
The two brothers stopped at the mouth of the cave, looking out over the landscape of Unova. Ingo sighed. Emmet turned to him, investigating his face. “This reminds me of Hisui. I would sit and admire the view for hours between my Warden duties. My favorite spot was not far from my Lady’s den. The only problem that the spot had was that sometimes there was an Alpha Skuntank that would linger nearby and see me. It is nice to not have to worry about that on this track.” No sooner had those words left his mouth before the two heard a horrible screeching overhead. They whirled around, looking for the source of the noise.
A massive Hydreigon towered above them, perched on a cliff ledge near the entrance to the cave. It regarded them with black eyes, screeching in aggression again. Emmet immediately made a mad grab for one of his Pokeballs and glanced at Ingo to see which Pokemon he would toss out first before realizing that Ingo was no longer standing next to him. Emmet whipped his head up.
Ingo was running. Directly towards the dragon. With no Pokeball in his hand.
“Ingo!” Emmet screamed. Ingo must not have heard him, though, as he gave no indication that the sound had even left Emmet’s throat. His brother lunged as the dragon reared, jumping from its perch and swooping into the air, making a dive for Ingo. Emmet stood, frozen, stunned. What the hell had caused Ingo to derail?
“All aboard!” Ingo called as the Hydreigon dived at him. Emmet tensed as Ingo tucked and rolled at the last second, narrowly avoiding its claws. On his way back up, he grabbed one of the three necks of the Hydreigon, the rightmost one. He squeezed it as it soared back up, roaring with surprise. Emmet watched as his twin used the momentum to swing himself around, grabbing the neck of the far left one, pulling hard. The dragon gave a guttural wail, zooming back towards the ground in shock. Just before it hit, Ingo let go of one of the necks and swung himself over the back of the creature, riding it down as it smashed heads-long into the rock. It sat there for a moment, stunned, allowing Ingo to react again. He leaped off the creature, grabbing the two limp heads in his hands as he swung the creature up and over himself in a graceful arc, it seeming to linger in the air for half a second, before it slammed into the ground again, its own weight used against it. The third head landed under the body and it gave a strangled squawk as it went limp, knocked out. Ingo then went over and looked at the creature, placing a hand on its body. “It’s merely unconscious. We should depart shortly before it wakes up.”
Emmet stood, dazed, wondering if what he saw was real. He found that his mouth no longer worked, his vocal cords dried up and useless. He knew his mouth was floundering, not unlike a Basculin out of water. He stood there for a full minute. Two. His Pokeball was still in his hand, raised and ready to throw. The shock, however, was slowly ebbing away. Some new emotion was taking hold of him.
“Ingo…”
“Emmet? Are you alright? You seem perturbed-”
“Ingo, what the fuck?” Emmet looked at him incredulously. “What the actual fuck? Is that what you were doing this whole time in Hisui? Fist fighting Pokemon?”
“Emmet-”
“You said you have not mentioned everything. And you just happened to gloss over this?” he asked, gesturing to the unconscious heap of deadly dragon. “And you say I’m the impulsive one! That I’m the careless one!”
“Emmet-”
“Really, I wish I had a video of that! Elesa would kill to-”
“Emmet!” Ingo shouted, cutting off his rambling. He was pointing behind Emmet, a worried expression on his face. Emmet turned around and saw the Hydreigon getting back up. Emmet rolled his eyes.
He pulled out an Ultra Ball at the now-concussed monster, still screaming, “Oh and you! What was that! Did he pay you? Is that it? Are you a paid actor?” The poor dark dragon barely had the ability to sit up again before it was smacked with a well-aimed Pokeball, the ball hardly shaking as it caught. “That thing had to be at least 350 pounds and you just lifted it like a sack of potatoes! What the hell were you eating, Ingo? What were they giving you? Meth? Opium? Was your diet pure testosterone supplements?” Emmet was now pacing, waving his hands around wildly.
“I saw you’d gained muscle. And that’s great! But you never mentioned you could backflip a grown Hydreigon. What else are you hiding? Can you walk on water? What skills did they teach you there? How did you just learn this shit-”
“Emmet, I had to fend for myself daily. There was a kind woman who taught me basic martial arts. I acted on instinct. I apologize if it was jarring-”
“Jarring?! Ingo, you just hefted one of the deadliest Pokemon in the entire region like it was a Lillipup! What kinds of instincts were ingrained into you? Is this why your back is so compressed?” Emmet continued on in this manner for a little longer. Then he suddenly found himself in the air, warm hands pressed against his back as he was lifted clear above Ingo. He squawked in surprise. “Iiiiii-INGO WHAT THE HELL!”
Ingo calmly left him aloft, not saying anything for a moment as Emmet shouted at him. “You know I don’t like heights!”
“Then if I set you down, will you allow me a chance to speak?” Ingo asked him. Emmet took a deep breath in. Let it out.
“Fine. As long as you explain yourself.” Ingo’s arms lowered, allowing Emmet to slip out of his grip and onto the sweet, sweet ground. He scuttled away from Ingo a little bit, now aware that if he really got annoyed, he could snap Emmet in half like a toothpick. He wouldn’t. But the fact that in theory, he could…
“Hisui was harsh. Alpha Pokemon were common. I had to defend myself for some time without the use of Pokemon. So I trained in order to be able to survive. That is why I am now proficient in some more skills. You want to ask me something?” he questioned, looking at Emmet’s hopeful gaze.
Emmet nodded, his grin splitting his face again. “I think I could forgive you, if you did me one favor.”
“What might that be?”
“Teach me.”
“Absolutely not.”

me coming in with "what about crustle though!"
*checks wiki* "evolves at level 34"
welp.
COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF THEIR POKEMON (keeping in mind that in b/w, the final gym is at level 41, so that's our ballpark for level pacing):
litwick, tynamo: you've all heard this already. categorically the worst. don't evolve til level 41/39 and boy are they just mostly useless until then
joltik, dwebble, trubbish: marginally better than tynamo (a bar that is six feet below ground) and have a decent spread of status moves that could help hold their own, but evolving at 34-36 is still not great and their stats/resistances are pretty shitty too.
klink x2: rated Most Likely To Take Hits by virtue of being steel and resistant to ten different types. for sure carrying early on. however will start to flag in the late game on account of not evolving until Level 38, Again, Come On Guys
durant: single-stage, but disqualified for not showing up anywhere outside of victory road. going to take a wild guess that this was maybe a late addition.
drilbur: level 31, we're getting warmer! ever-so-slowly! rating: Decent.
axew: level 38 which, oof, but it's also a dragon so it has that going for it. its stats could be worse, but they could be a lot better, too.
archen: a first stage that is ACTUALLY NOT AWFUL, WE FOUND- hey, wait a minute, what's that? what ability is that as the only one listed? "defeatist?" huh i wonder what that could possibly do-
oh you motherfuckers had one half-decent pre-endgame pokemon and you had to give it its own fucking roadblock, didn't you
#the nemesis speaks#the nemesis answers#answrs#strong pokemon... weak pokemon... maybe the trainer should just git gud#they truly made everything so hard for themselves for no reason and proceeded to win anyway#(cheering and clapping) YOU'RE RIDICULOUS

PKMN Black 2: PSYCHONAUTS EDITION
Hoooo so hey remember when I first put out the sketches for Emboar!Helmut and Levanny!Bob?
Yeah I finished the rest of the team! I also had the idea to like little “Trainer Journal” entries so those will be down below.
First up! The first two members of the team: Helmut and Bob!
These two are def one heck of a duo. Emboars are already hard hitters but Bob was also one of the powerhouses on the team. I also just... I like fire as an emotion signaler? So Helmut get flamin brows and colourful fire! Bob took a couple tries to get right but I’m real happy with how he came out.
Next is Cassie and Compton
Cassie being an Excadrill is more circumstance. I told my friend that I’d be finally playing through all of Black 2, and he asked if he could suggest a mon. He suggested Excadrill, and I found a female one, and thus, she’s now Cassie.
And boi Excadrills really are terrifying. So she ended up being Powerhouse #3. Now Compton! Tiny tiny fluffy boi. Compton was never going to be a part of my battle team, but it felt wrong to leave one out. So Compton became the Minccino you get from the first Hidden Grotto. If we were in Kalos he would 100% be a Meowstic.
Next is FOOOOOORD
One of my rules for this game was that I wanted to use poke’mon I never had, mostly. I needed a flying type, and I was suggested Sigilyph. So congrats Ford! You are officially the ONLY Psychic type on the team and one of the weirdest poke’mon.
Now we start getting to the big ones. In Size
LUCY! Y’all know Jellicents are bleedin huge? So, She and Cassie are the ones I took the most liberty with in terms of design, like shrinking down that head and turning most of the fluff into her headscarf.
She and Ford are also one of the more fragile team members. Given the chance, they can deal with things, but for tricky fights, the 3 hard and tanky hitters will take the brunt of damage.
And last but not least.
Otto
HE’S FUCKING HUGE
I DIDN’T REALIZE HOW BIG ELEKTROSSES ARE HOLY SHIT. So... yes I raised a Tynamo as soon as I got to Chargestone Cavern. Yes it took a long time. I needed an Electric type xD
These were real fun to make ahahah! Now then, I will leave you with their heights all stacked together, and the journal notes under a cut.
Enjoy!
{Trainer Journal}
Bianca and Professor Juniper wanted me to do something extra along side filling up the Pokedex. Apparently the Pokedex has all generalized data and not much on variations and mutations that could happen naturally. So they asked that I keep an eye out on my journey. Not a problem!
{Helmut} =Tepig
-So far so normal. He is pretty new to the world after all. He has taken a shine to the Sewaddle I caught a little while ago. Does not like the Azurill... I mean... I kinda get it. Little gal is real angry.
=Pignite -First variation. According to the Dex, Pignites have these curl designs and straight bands, but Helmut’s got like... leaf cut outs and the bands are like... arches. His fire’s weird too. It’s got green and pink in there sometime.
-Second variation. We just got a Drilbur, and I named her Cassie. Helmut’s really friendly so he bounced on over to her. Aaaand pretty soon after I think I saw more orange in his fire. I thought it was weakening but nope, just can be a more orange fire. Weird.
-Random note: Helmut saw a beanie in Castelia. He rocked the Bug gym, as I expected, so I figured why not. Thank Arceus they had one that was fire proof. Pros: He’s happy and immediately bounced over to Bob to show him. Cons: He will not take it off anymore.
- Third Fire. Got a Sigilyph, and now his fire’s got blue and green in them now. Professor what does this mean.
=Emboar
-FIRE HIS DAMN FIRE IS A RAINBOW. -Does not have the large curly designs on his chest. Instead it’s more leaf patterns. He’s also way more hued in colour than most Emboars.
-Do Fire types’ fire normally react to their emotions like this? If he’s with Compton, his fire turns purple sometimes. It also turns purple when he’s stressed. It dies down if it’s blue, and it tends to be green and pink around Bob.
-Also Helmut definitely has a crush on Bob. And I think it’s reciprocated. I am worried about their typings but wow it’s cute.
-Helmut’s eyebrows are on fire.
-It seems like Helmut’s really influenced by the team. They each gave him a new colour for his flames, and I think he’s building a small psychic resistance. Not a lot but it’s there.
-I don’t think there’s any way to replicate this kinda of variation. Helmut’s always been sensitive to his surroundings. Might just be a him thing.
{Bob} =Sewaddle
-Little guy took a shine to Helmut really quickly. Woulda figured the type matchup wouldn’t let that happen too well.
-His attacks aren’t... totally inaccurate but I’m a bit worried. It’s not too bad right now but seriously no other Sewaddle has this issue as far as I’ve seen.
-According to the dex, the only difference between males and females is height. We’ll see dex. We’ll see.
=Swadloon
-Glasses. He needed glasses. What- how- Professor did you know some mons need GLASSES???
-He’s made his own by using twigs he got before we left for Castelia and is using the harbor water as lenses. I am taking him to an eye doc for proper lenses.
-Now that he can see his own reflection in windows, he keeps scratching at his chin and face. I wonder what he’s thinkin.
//He wants what you humans call a beard// -FORD GET OUT OF MY NOTES
=Levanny
-Shit. Ford was right. Good for him then.
-His leaf hood looks a bit more like a mane hahah. He looks good, got a tie, his legs have faint stripes (Makes me think of plaid stuff) and he has a flower tucked on his chest. Helmut gave him flowers so he seems to just switch them out.
-He’s taller than an average male Leavanny. Thicker too. Just as fast though.
{Cassie} =Drilburr
-I’m concerned about that giant hole in the sewers. Ah well, caught a Drilburr. Nothing out of the ordinary. Except some slightly loose skin at the top. Like a Purrloin.
=Excadrill
-... Okay... That pattern is WILDLY different than normal Excadrills. Where’d the yellow come from? Helmut??
-The loose skin makes more sense now. She can flip her top drill up and down like a visor.
-Thinner than most Excadrills, according to the group.
-Clay has an Excadrill, so I asked to compare. Wow males are WAY tinier than males. Also the visor helmet thing is apparently singular to Cassie.
{Ford}
-We were out in the Relic Castle desert, and I kept coming across Sigilyphs. And then we came across one that looked... Like it had a moustache?? T’was also bigger than the others. Turns out it’s because he’s male. I call him Ford now.
-He’s pretty grumpy
//Oh like the Swadloon ain’t.//
-The grumpy eyes are on the body as well. Mismatched too. They’re also green instead of blue like normal ones.
//Not a word about the eyes.//
-Sigilyphs are weird.
//Why you-// (the ink scribbles to the edge)
-I KNEW IT! FORD OUT OF MY NOTES!
//IT’S MY JOURNAL ENTRY I DESERVE TO WRITE IN IT//
{Compton} =Minccinno
-Okay so... This little guy is beyond skittish. I didn’t even dare to fight him. No way, nope, bad time. I’m just gonna leave him alone. -Scratch that he got even more anxious when we tried to leave. I am at an impasse.
-Okay so Ford and Cassie managed to make him calmer. Good. Maybe we can get out of here now.
-Nope he’s latched onto Cassie. Okay buddy here’s a ball.
-No way I am letting him be a part of the main battle party but he could be nice to have around. He’s got a cute bowler hat too.
-I got to check his tail. It’s more curly than normal I think.
-I may let him fight a bit, just so he doesn’t fall behind the team too much. In case there’s bad situation.
=Cinccinno
-Well he certainly poofed out. His white fur is all poofy and curly instead of straight.
-He’s... really well versed in berries and teas. Made some good stuff. -How is this mon better at cooking than me. He’s cooking from now on.
//For the best.//
{Lucy} = Frillish
-I spotted her back in Virbank ages ago but I couldn’t surf. Moment I could, I had Ford fly us back her to find her. What do you know, she was still there.
-So normal Frillish have a collar around their neck. This one has a hood apparently. I wonder if she’ll keep it.
- Eyes are a teal green instead of red.
=Jellicent
-...
-PROFFESSOR
-Wildly different from normal Jellicent. No huge head for one. She did keep the scarf hood, all that fluff that is normally there turned into that. She’s super flowy.
-She’s got little... dashes in her hood, almost looks like raindrops.
-Man the dex entry. I can see how.
-Ford quit making goo goo eyes with the ship sinker.
//No.//
-Great I have two of them now.
{Otto} =Tynamo
-This little guy annoyed Ford for a good while before I chucked a quick ball at him. Now the two are getting along pretty well.
-Seems to have more fins than a normal Tynamo.
-The EXP share is going on you buddy boi.
=Eelektrik
-THE FACE! HAHAHAHA!
-The spots aren’t circular. Looks more like a toddler drew them on.
-Definitely has more fin frills than normal. It almost looks like a mullet.
-He found goggles. I don’t know where but he did.
-He got chewed out by Compton after he messed with the food. I think he was trying to experiment.
=Eelektross
-SWEET ARCEUS ON TOAST
-HE’S BIGGER THAN EVERYONE HOLY SHIT.
-Antenna is... jagged. More like a thunderbolt. The fin there is spikier too. Makes me think of a thunderbolt. As if he wasn’t electric enough.
-The spots turned into a swirl on his big fish mitts. Looks cool.
-Blue eyes rather than red.
====================
Out of all of them, Helmut had the most changes. I wonder if it’s because he went through the whole adventure compared to the others. But he was also way more sensitive to the world.
Maybe that’s his mutation. Almost like Eevee but not quite.
How I ended up with such a bizarre team I don’t know.
Wouldn’t trade ‘em for the world.

Pokemon Evil Team
I am a fan of Pokemon, and my "home" region I suppose would be Unova. As such, I've made an evil team for Unova. I know "Team Buddy" started out there and is a huge universe that people love, but I hope that my story is fun enough and creative to warrant some more exploration!
Basic premise - The Gym leaders are not always at their stations, or sometimes ignore challengers or use the challengers in ways they do not consent (Elesa's modeling/dangerous coaster ride). Fed up with these so called "puzzles," Team Mirror aims to replace the lazy gym leaders with their own. And show the league that they take their job seriously.
Other team members would make up gym trainers and fall under one of the 7 admins, or their leader.
Leader - Coby Team - Amoongus, Drapion, Crobat, Scolipede, Toxicroak, Tentacruel (ace) Grunt team - Foongus, Venipede line up to Scolipede, Trubbish line
Admin Seth (demands that Striaton pick one gym leader, like the rest of the world) Team - Watchog, Liligant, Alomomola, Darmanitan (ace) Grunt team - Petilil, Basculin, Darumaka
Admin Nick (hates the idea of the puzzles around Lenora's gym and also wants to expand triple battle recognition. Team is made up of supporters for his Bouffalant) Team - Audino, Cinccino, Bouffalant (ace) Grunt team - Audino, Minccino line, Patrat line, Lilipup line
Admin Gage (loves the aesthetic of Burgh's Pokemon gyms, but due to Burgh being all over the place in the city, got frustrated with him) Team - Galvantula, Crustle, Durant, Volcarona (ace) Grunt team - Dwebble, Joltik, Karrablast, Shelmet, Sewaddle line
Admin Kelly (the unsafe rollercoaster that Elesa keeps up makes Kelly frustrated that Elesa does not care about those who go to her theme park) Team - Klang, Stunfisk, Eelektross (ace) Grunt team - Klink line up to Klang, Stunfisk, Blitzle line, Tynamo line up to Eelektrik
Admin Sara (a Pokemon Breeder helping her little sibling lead the team) Team - Rhyperior, Krookidile, Seismitoad, Nidoqueen, Gliscor (ace) Grunt team - Drilbur, Sandile line up to Krokorok, Stunfisk, Golett, or baby pokemon.
Admin Alicia (an Ice Pokemon fan who wanted to be the next gym leader after Brycen, and went away to study the ninja ways of Ice types. Hates Marlon and Brycen and will take over both Brycen and Marlon's gym) Team - Cryogonal, Froslass, Weavile (ace) Grunt team - Cryogonal, Cubchoo, Vannilite line, Sneasel
Admin Drow (thinks that Iris is too young/Drayden is too old) Team - Fraxure, Druddigon, Hydreigon (ace) Grunt team - Axew line up to Fraxure, Druddigon, Deino line up to Zweilous
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Basic story, you go around learning from different people who claim that one gym leader is the real one. Each gym has double the gym trainers and leaders and the player has to figure out the real one.
If they choose the gym trainer/leader, they will not be given a chance to heal by the grunt/admin (except for Admin Sara and Leader Coby).
Coby, after her team is defeated, goes on to a special bracket in the World Tournament known as "Big Bosses" who are all villain admins and leaders. World Tournament Team - Amoongus, Crobat, Seviper, Toxicroak, Gengar, Tentacruel (Ace)
FANFIC: against all odds - part 3
prev | next
Summary: Moments in the Jerome Horwitz Melvin Sneedly guild while the fugitive disaster happens. (Piqua Mystery Dungeon)
A/N: alternate title - special episode 1, part 1 - what happens in the guild, stays in the guild
Should I have actually watched the show to refresh my memory on the kids’ characterization/verbal quirks? Yes. Did I just... not do it? Also yes. The context is in the previous parts of this series. And here’s a guide for who’s what pokemon.
Its been literal years since I had to juggle so many speaking parts. The porygon-z mentioned are the equivalent of the melvinborg-borgs and dusknoir’s sableye. Don’t ask how ‘borg has them under his employ. he probably made them
This has been sitting in my draft for a week and at this point I’m getting too precious about it.
_________________________
The last few days, were to put it kindly-- unbearable. It almost reminded Erica of the early days when Krupp banned George and Harold from working together. Back then, it only took a few days until they figured out a new rhythm to their antics and part-time save the school schtick.
Now completely out of the equation, the rules were left unchallenged and was slowly getting worse as it continued to pile up.
(Of course, she had tried to stop the changes and the consequences that resulted from said changes, but she didn’t have that extra ‘oomph’ the boys had, that unpredictable energy that left whatever villain du jour running for the hills. At best, she could mitigate it for a short while.)
Erica mumbled a quick thanks to the guild lunchlady. The porygon-z was making its way here and she didn’t want to linger. As she made her hasty retreat, she could hear snippets about ‘new changes to the menu’. Great.
Speaking of overhearing.
“-- How do you think they’re doin’?” Stanley piped up, eyeing the same porygon-z. “Last I heard, they were pretty far away-- at least, that’s what I overheard from those... cronies that follow Melvinborg around.”
“The co-ohld region, right?” Dressy’s voice chimed in.
“No way, we thought they were still at the forest.”
“Either way, it just kinda looks like they’re just... running. No plan, no place to hide out, nothing.”
“Like they’re flying by the seat of their pants!” Bo cut in. “Like they’re flying by the seat of their pants!” A beat. The drilbur visibly deflated. “It’s a-- it’s a reference to one of George and Harold’s older issues. Too soon?”
No one wanted to touch on the donphan in the room that suspiciously looked like an abomasnow wearing underwear. No one knew how to address it.
Erica took the lull in conversation as an opportunity to take a seat. Some of them chorused a weak greeting. “If you ask me, no news is good news.” She took a bite out of a leppa berry. “Means they haven’t been caught yet.”
“Like, they must all be such a mess now! I wouldn’t know what I would do without my feather care package.” Jessica’s feathers fluffed up in horror, only for her to try and restyle the crest on her head with her wings.
Erica raised a brow. “I think looking nice is the least of their concern.”
“Uh, it should be the most of their concern!” the spritzee argued, stomping her foot. “Do you really think the team that’ll catch them would give them time to fix themselves up? They’d, like, be on every headline-- what, do you want them to look like they dragged themselves out of a ditch?”
“I don’t want to think about them getting caught.” Gooch cut in, his voice small.
The table’s chatter died down immediately. Bo shuddered at the thought. The flower on Dressy’s head curled up. And as unreadable Other Sophie was at the best of times, the axew swore that she could feel something sad and shuddery emanate from her.
“You know, I think Jessica has a point,” Erica said after a moment.
“...About the feather brushes?” Gooch tilted his head.
“Feather care package,” Jessica corrected. “It takes more than brushes to look this good.”
“On care packages. We could gather some stuff to help them out.” Erica explained, claws thrumming against the table. “Now all we need to figure out is what to get.”
Silence, then, “Um, I’m pretty sure I can get a few bruised berries an’ apples from the farm,” Stanley offered. “They may not look purdy, but they’ll do the job fine.”
“Me and Gooch can gather some stuff they can throw,” Bo added with a nod.
“Really, you’re going to give them literal rocks?” Jessica raised a brow.
“They’re essential!”
“Well, I’m actually going to give them what they need.” A beat. “Aaaaanyway, what sort of product do you need for scales, anyway?”
“How about instead of that, some scarves?” Erica suggested, not-so-subtly steering the spritzee to something adjacent to her interest. “Maybe something that’s both form and function?”
“You’re really, like, pulling my wing here, but I suppose I can make do.” Jessica groused, but not for long. Her eyes lit up as she had some sort of personal epiphany. “Ooh, I know just the thing!”
“What are you gonna get, Erica?” Bo asked.
And all eyes were on her, suddenly. “Oh, uh--”
“Probably something amazing, right?” Gooch lit up, both figuratively and literally as the thin stripe on the tynamo’s side lit up.
She steeled her nerves because between the external factor called this entire fugitive situation and her friends looking at her like like she was the smartest person at the table, her mind was drawing a blank. Because top-of-her-class Erica, who was naturally good at everything, who opened her big mouth and put the idea out in the first place had to have the best thing. This made sense to everyone.
The entire table jolted as Stanley voiced the one question that should have been addressed first: “Wait, how are we going to get it to them?”
“I’ll do it.” Erica said, thankful for the change in topic. “If Melvinborg is so insistent on making us go out there even though we’re just kids, we can capitalize on that.”
“Are you sure?”
She was never so unsure of anything in her life, but she nodded anyway.
#mellsian fanfics#captain underpants#piqua mystery dungeon#i feel like i made erica a liiiiittle bit ooc for the sake of this drabble#with regards to her nervousness#but considering that the boys are essentially branded as criminals and everyone's out to get them its justifiable i think
in a Egyptian Pokémon region, the starters would be based on a snake, (the fire starter) a crane, (the grass starter) and a hippo. (The water starter) what do you think?
Ooh this is a really cool ask OP thank you
Here are my ideas for an Egypt based region:
Obviously we want some kind of wadjet snake pokemon and a crocodile and a hippo bc those are very prominent animals in Egyptian mythology, so right on with that. But I wanted to use animals that were sacred in a positive light (ones that weren't respected partly out of fear) as inspiration for the starter pokemon (because all of those above have certain negative connotations even if they also have good ones). So my choice of starters would be:
Jackal (fire/ghost)
Cow/ram/gazelle fusion (grass/rock)
Ibis (water/flying)
I had other starter ideas but unfortunately they were too conceptually similar to other extant pokemon (a cat fire type or a lion fire type; a primate grass type, a fire/flying bird of prey, etc.)
Stuff I would like to see in this region:
Camel pokemon (lankier than camerupt and rideable), maybe with some giraffe mixed in
Giant "Giza sphinx" type stature except it's based on the jackal starter bc originally what we know irl as the Sphinx of Giza was actually a jackal statue that got damaged enough on the head that they had to recarve the head into something smaller and without a long face (which is why it is so disproportionate to the body size)
Large desert areas that really push the player to their limit (the trickery of the desert area in SuMo comes to mind; sort of like ORAS but replace the water with sand) with beautiful oases dotting the map
Scarab pokemon
A fairy/water or water/ghost mirage pokemon that, similar to ditto, can appear as a pokemon it's not, but, like minior or mimikyu, drops its disguise after getting hit
Toad pokemon
Really hype up the legendaries for this region. Like really make their presence loom over the whole game so they don't feel like trophy hunting prizes at the end. Make them HARD to catch
Rhino pokemon
More puzzles! I miss puzzles!
Sphinx pokemon (maybe absol regional variant?)
Make me afraid of ghost pokemon again
Huge open marketplace area in late game major city areas
Aardwolf pokemon, or maybe a hyena one
Lots of hidden/secret areas--caves, mines, tombs, etc; a hidden oasis or one that's location/entrance constantly changes
A dark type pokemon with long ears and a split tail, based on whatever the fuck aesthetic Set was going for
Big river leading to delta and sea areas; a big contrast between this wet fertile landscape versus the arid desert it's surrounded by. Fun marsh areas with wading birds and water lilies, lots of reeds
An actual underground river maze beneath a pyramid/large tomb, filled with scary pokemon late into the game based on the hazardous initial journey to the afterlife and also the irl Colossus of Memnon maze/labyrinth and the maze of Amenemhet, which would lead you to a legendary. Would also have very strong giant water/dark snake pokemon in it (psuedo-legendary maybe)
SUCCULENT POKEMON
Bring back seasons and weather you cowards. It wouldn't be as hard to implement for a desert region!!
Crocodile/lion/hippo fusion pokemon based on Ammut (water/dark)
Large irrigated fields with different crops that attract different pokemon (special grass and tall grass, like how there are special flower colors for bushes)
Make incense more prominent like give it uses as a field item, such as attracting specific pokemon types, instead of it just being a hold item
Have berry trees you can plant at the oases. Make it big again like in ORAS. You could create an incense crafting mechanic that uses them, along with use in the cooking minigame they're introducing in gen 8
Softshell turtle pokemon
Touchscreen drawing game where you replicate glyph patterns to activate or unlock certain things
More interesting water pokemon that are viable competitively
Quail pokemon
More cool pokemon that hide in the sand like lizards, spiders, snakes, desert foxes, etc.
Return of rideable mudsdale
More unique *plant* pokemon that aren't just animals that have, like, some leaves taped to them
Bring back sky battles
Area in the sea similar to Cleopatra's sunken palace with ruins to explore using dive
More new cat pokemon (QUADRAPEDAL PLEASE)
GIVE US SOME NEW POKEBALLS!! And make other pokeball designs more easily accessible!
ELECTRIC JERBOA POKEMON
Boat and chariot/ride pokemon races!
BRING BACK MEGA EVOLUTIONS
All different temples dedicated to different pokemon/themes
Make it a point to reward the player for not robbing people's graves. Reward the player for respecting the dead/the native culture and making offerings at the various temples. You could make it so that giving offerings to different temples gave you different temporary bonuses like how O-powers worked. Hell you could have one that just increases your luck both in battles and encounters.
MAKE THE VILLIAN TEAM A BUNCH OF WHITE COLONIAL/IMPERIALISTS ASSHOLES THAT ARE TRYING TO STEAL AS MANY CULTURAL ARTIFACTS AS THEY CAN. And/or a doomsday cult sort of like the one in The Mummy, with a corresponding small organization dedicated to stopping them
Elevated Railways - Ch 11
Ingo has been in Hisui for two years when two children fall from the sky - with wings like his. Did they come from the same place he did?
CW: mentions of eating disorders
Word Count: ~2400
Ingo had retrieved a couple more blankets from the Pearl Camp as he was showing Emmet around the Icelands. He laid them out in his tent now, listening to Emmet ramble in short sentences about his preferences in take-out for dinner. Ingo pulled out a deep pot, setting it on the fire outside and lighting it so that he could make something to eat. He pulled out some meat, vegetables, and some spices and began to cut them up, tossing them into the stew. Emmet sat next to him, chatting about home. He watched Ingo work with a practiced hand.
The sun dipped below the horizon. The fire was their only light, so Ingo tossed out Magnezone, which lit the area with its electricity. “I wish our Pokemon had come through the portal with me,” Emmet lamented. “I am verrry excited for you to see them again. They miss you.”
“What are they like? Our Pokemon. I remember having a partner, vaguely. It was able to wield flames, but they were not orange. They were purple. I have not encountered a Pokemon like that in Hisui.” Ingo stoked the fire, getting the water to boil. He stirred the stew with a spoon.
“That would be your ace, Chandelure. She is a fire/ghost type and she loves following you around. She is verrry gentle. She was your second Pokemon you found.”
“What was the first?”
“We both acquired Klink for our birthday. They are now fully evolved Klinklang. Yours is more mischievous than mine is and always tries to purposefully block doorways for a laugh. They get along well.”
“What others are there?”
“On your team specifically, there is Garbodor, Excadrill, and Crustle. We share Haxorus, she was a present from our Uncle Drayden when we began our first Pokemon journey. He raises dragon-types and gave us an egg. Garbodor was your fourth Pokemon. You found her digging in the trash behind our house. She is a big sweetheart. I call her your trash baby. Excadrill you found as a Drilbur when we were in Chargestone Cave. He is verrry responsible and keeps the others in line. Crustle was your last one. You caught it when we became Depot Agents. He likes to sleep.”
“What about your Pokemon?” The stew was cooking now, steam wafting off of it.
“My team is my ace, Eelektross, Archeops, Galvantula, and Durant. Eelektross was my second as well, I caught it as a Tynamo the same day you got your Litwick. It is verrry cuddly. Archeops I found as a fossil in Chargestone Cave when we were young. I tripped over the rock and broke my lip open. We went and revived him the next week. Galvantula, I bred myself. I was searching for a Joltik with an Adamant nature that could learn Cross-Poison. She is rather spoiled. Durant, I found on our Pokemon journey. It is more independent but likes to take care of the Joltik.”
“Joltik?”
“Electric/bug types. I still breed Joltik, mostly to give to younger trainers. If I deem a young challenger worthy, I will offer up one of my babies. We always have a few in the apartment and on the Subway. I love them verrry much. They are adorable.” Emmet smiled softly. Ingo nodded as he tapped the spoon against the side of the pot before he took out a spoonful and tasted it. It was a little bland. He added some more ground pecha and leppa to it.
“I believe it may be ready to be consumed. Be warned, it is not great. In my time in Hisui, cooking was not one of the skills I excelled at.”
“You were not a great cook in Unova either. I usually cooked.” Emmet scooted closer to the pot as Ingo pulled out two hand-carved bowls, spooning a bit of the concoction into them.
“I hope it is not too bland for your liking, Emmet. I do not recall which flavors you prefer, and was afraid to add spice.”
Emmet spooned some into his mouth. “I love spicy food. You prefer sweet foods.” He continued to eat. “This is not bad. It is not the best meal ever, but it is more edible than things you made back home.”
Ingo huffed in amusement as he took up his own bowl. “It seems I have learned something about cooking, then, in my time here.”
They fell silent as they ate, enjoying the cooling night air and the warm soup in their bellies.
Footsteps approached. Ingo called out, “Rei, Akari, care to join us for some food? It is not like the mochi at the Wallflower, but it is sustenance.”
“Yes please!” Akari bounded out of the woods, her cheek splotched with mud and her hair containing a stick from a tree. Ingo knitted his brows at her.
“Miss Akari, what did you get into?”
“We were in the Mirelands. Alpha Tangrowth. You know how it is,” Rei filled in as the two children sat down and eagerly took some bowls, filling them with the stew.
“It may be a bit bland. I apologize.”
“I’m sure it’s okay, Uncle Ingo!” Akari took a spoonful. “Yeah, it’s not that bad. The vegetables are all a decent texture and the meat seems cooked enough.” Rei nodded as well, his mouth full.
“Why, thank you. It seems my cooking skills have improved in Hisui.” Ingo polished off his bowl, setting it down and sighing to himself as he stretched. Emmet was not far behind him.
“What did you do all day?” Rei asked the adults.
“I took Emmet on a tour of the Highlands and he told me about our homeland. We have an uncle! And we live in a city with trains.” His voice grew softer and filled with longing. “He described trains to me again. Oh, how I wish to see one.”
“Soon, you can! We just have to get about twenty more entries, and Volo said he’d help.”
“What did you do today?” Emmet asked them.
“We went to Cogita’s house first and met up with Volo there. He took us different places around Hisui to try to get us to find these weird rocks.” Rei held one up.
“Plates,” Akari corrected.
“Whatever. Anyway, we found a few of them. He says we just need a couple more? He seems really excited about it, so we said we’d finish helping him in the morning.”
Ingo nodded. He still did not like the merchant, but he did have to admit, he seemed to get along well with the twins. They were also old enough that they could handle themselves, for the most part. “Inform me if you two need anything. Please drive safely out there tomorrow.”
“We will!” they chorused. They set down their bowls.
“Now,” Ingo said as he stood. “How about you two take yourselves and the dishes to the lake to clean up and Emmet and I can set up the preening oil before bed. We must ensure all feathers are properly cared for nightly!”
Akari groaned. Rei stood and gathered their bowls. “Come on, it won’t take that long.” He prodded her with his boot and smirked. “Besides, you stink anyway.”
“Not as bad as you! At least I use something other than rainwater to bathe!” Rei rubbed some mud from his boot onto her arm and ran off, forcing her to give chase. “YOU COME BACK HERE!” she screamed as they scrambled off. Ingo pulled Emmet up, making sure to put out the fire as they entered the tent. Ingo motioned for Emmet to sit as he pulled out his oil and lit the lamps inside his room, illuminating the area. He removed his cap and coat, allowing his wings out yet again. They fluttered to life. He bent over and rummaged through his trunk for some extra clothing for Emmet to wear, as he was still wearing his stiff shirt and tie. He found an extra Pearl Clan tunic.
“Here, Emmet. This will likely be more comfortable than that shirt.” He handed his brother the cloth, along with a fresh set of soft pants. “These are built for rugged terrain, and they conserve heat. I have already cut slits in the back for your wings.” Emmet shrugged off his coat, unbuttoning his shirt and loosening his tie. Ingo busied himself with other things and pulled out a carving, about to ask Emmet about it-
He stared. Every single one of Emmet’s ribs was on full display. Ingo could have counted them. His flesh clung to his skeleton like a form-fitting suit. Emmet did not notice him looking as he shrugged the Pearl Clan tunic on, adjusting it like Ingo had it. He stood and changed pants. His legs were incredibly thin, his skin extremely pale. He looked at Ingo to check and ensure that he had it right when he noticed Ingo staring at him. “Ingo? What is the matter?” He cocked his head, his grin now confused and concerned.
“Emmet.” Ingo closed the difference between them, hugging Emmet around the shoulders. “You are so thin. What happened to you?”
Emmet was quiet in Ingo’s hold.Ingo pulled away, keeping his hands on Emmet’s shoulders. His mouth was still smiling, but his eyes seemed… panicked?
“Whatever it is, you can tell me. I will be by your side,” Ingo encouraged.
Emmet looked away. “Ever since you disappeared, I have lost my desire for fuel. It seemed pointless. So I did not refuel.”
Ingo considered this. It was quiet for a moment. Then he spoke, his voice strong and soft, “I will make you refuel properly again. No more skipping out on pit stops while I’m around, I will ensure it.”
“Ingo-”
“You do not get to argue this one. You will eat regular portions at regular intervals. I will see to it that you are healthy again.” He met Emmet’s eyes. Emmet shut his mouth with a clack, opting to merely nod at Ingo. He smiled softly. Ingo squeezed his shoulders.
“Since when could your eyes glow in the dark?”
“Since I came to Hisui. They came with the wings.” Ingo cocked his head. Open yours wider, I wish to see if yours do, too.” Ingo put a fabric over the lamp and watched Emmet’s eyes. They did, in fact, glow. “Yours do, too. I wonder what caused it.” Emmet shrugged. Ingo took the cloth down and sat right as the children ran in. Akari’s hair was wet. She held two of the bowls and Rei held the two others as she still continued to flick water off her fingers at him.
“Rotten brother! He pushed me in! Now I’m all wet!” She grumbled as she took off her shoes and scarf and handkerchief by the door. Her main outfit did not seem too wet, thankfully, Ingo noted, until she turned around. Her entire back was soaked. Rei continued giggling as he innocently set his bowls by Ingo’s trunk and sat down. Akari thudded to the ground closer to Ingo, scowling. Her wings were dripping, now that he noticed it. They shuddered as she sat. She was cold.
“I believe I may have a change of clothes if you would like to leave these out to dry overnight. I would like to dry your wings, as well. Does that sound alright to you?” Akari nodded, still pouting. Ingo pulled out yet another tunic for her. “I have several of these, do not worry about dirtying it. Me and Emmet can leave the tent if you-”
“It’s ok, just turn around. I won’t be long.” Akari stood and walked behind them, where they could not see her. Ingo heard the rustle of fabric as she changed. Within a minute she was back over by them. “I laid them out on the floor, wet side up. They should be dry by morning. Thanks, Uncle Ingo.”
“Of course, I would hate to see a passenger catch a cold by staying in wet clothes all night. Now, I believe it would be prudent to preen. Akari, would you like me to do yours tonight? They are wet.”
“And you didn’t push me into the lake,” Akari scoffed. “I can do Rei’s.”
“Emmet, do you feel comfortable doing mine yet?” Ingo asked.
“I can try. Tell me if you feel something wrong.”
“Of course.”
They sat in a line, each preening someone else. Ingo gave tips to Emmet when he could tell something was wrong or placed incorrectly. He also kept tabs on Akari’s feathers, being sure to get off any water he could. He kept an extra cloth around to suck up any moisture. Akari had her tongue poking out of her mouth as she did Rei’s wings. Ei preened the underside of his wings, making sure to get as close to his back as he could, as Ingo had taught him. They chatted about their days, Pokemon they had seen, and funny happenings that day. Between the methodic moving of Emmet’s hands on his wings and his own on Akari’s, Ingo was beginning to feel drowsy. His eyes drooped. However, he finished her wings and then moved onto the underside of his own. Once Akari had finished with Rei, Rei offered to do Emmet, who agreed wholeheartedly. Rei readjusted to sit behind Emmet and worked his way through his newer feathers. Ingo made sure to preen his sideburns as well. It was important to check over the health of all his feathers! Emmet copied him, if a bit slower. That was alright. He was still learning, after all!
He found himself beginning to doze off sitting up. He was awoken by a tap on the shoulder. “Ingo. Iiiiingo. Go to sleep.” Ingo opened his bleary eyes and saw Emmet. He just nodded. The kids made their way to the nest first, tossing out their warmer, softer Pokemon to cuddle with as Gliscor emerged, settling on Ingo’s spine again in its favorite spot as he flopped down on his stomach, stretching out his wings to cover the others with him. Akari laid next to him tonight, Emmet on his other side as he drifted off, comfortable and warm.
Ingo's Jacked
OK so I had to write this post into existence you're welcome
A little OOC but it was in the favor of the funny
Word Count: ~1200
Emmet smiled broadly. Finally, he and Ingo had a day off. Usually on days off, they just laid around at home, but Emmet had wanted to show Ingo some of their favorite places from their childhood, since Ingo still had not seen them since his disappearance - and subsequent reappearance. Ingo was definitely regaining his memories, but he did not have everything back yet. Emmet wished to remedy this. He led Ingo up the mountainside by the hand, grinning at his twin. Ingo frowned back at him, his eyes glittering with excitement.
“Did you remember something?”
“Yes. I remember the day you found your Tynamo here.” He paused, his eyebrows knitting in concentration. “And… I believe I found Drilbur that day, too. We were supposed to be home early but you saw Tynamo retreat into Chargestone Cave and you wanted it.” Emmet nodded.
Things were definitely getting better.
The two brothers stopped at the mouth of the cave, looking out over the landscape of Unova. Ingo sighed. Emmet turned to him, investigating his face. “This reminds me of Hisui. I would sit and admire the view for hours between my Warden duties. My favorite spot was not far from my Lady’s den. The only problem that the spot had was that sometimes there was an Alpha Skuntank that would linger nearby and see me. It is nice to not have to worry about that on this track.” No sooner had those words left his mouth before the two heard a horrible screeching overhead. They whirled around, looking for the source of the noise.
A massive Hydreigon towered above them, perched on a cliff ledge near the entrance to the cave. It regarded them with black eyes, screeching in aggression again. Emmet immediately made a mad grab for one of his Pokeballs and glanced at Ingo to see which Pokemon he would toss out first before realizing that Ingo was no longer standing next to him. Emmet whipped his head up.
Ingo was running. Directly towards the dragon. With no Pokeball in his hand.
“Ingo!” Emmet screamed. Ingo must not have heard him, though, as he gave no indication that the sound had even left Emmet’s throat. His brother lunged as the dragon reared, jumping from its perch and swooping into the air, making a dive for Ingo. Emmet stood, frozen, stunned. What the hell had caused Ingo to derail?
“All aboard!” Ingo called as the Hydreigon dived at him. Emmet tensed as Ingo tucked and rolled at the last second, narrowly avoiding its claws. On his way back up, he grabbed one of the three necks of the Hydreigon, the rightmost one. He squeezed it as it soared back up, roaring with surprise. Emmet watched as his twin used the momentum to swing himself around, grabbing the neck of the far left one, pulling hard. The dragon gave a guttural wail, zooming back towards the ground in shock. Just before it hit, Ingo let go of one of the necks and swung himself over the back of the creature, riding it down as it smashed heads-long into the rock. It sat there for a moment, stunned, allowing Ingo to react again. He leaped off the creature, grabbing the two limp heads in his hands as he swung the creature up and over himself in a graceful arc, it seeming to linger in the air for half a second, before it slammed into the ground again, its own weight used against it. The third head landed under the body and it gave a strangled squawk as it went limp, knocked out. Ingo then went over and looked at the creature, placing a hand on its body. “It’s merely unconscious. We should depart shortly before it wakes up.”
Emmet stood, dazed, wondering if what he saw was real. He found that his mouth no longer worked, his vocal cords dried up and useless. He knew his mouth was floundering, not unlike a Basculin out of water. He stood there for a full minute. Two. His Pokeball was still in his hand, raised and ready to throw. The shock, however, was slowly ebbing away. Some new emotion was taking hold of him.
“Ingo…”
“Emmet? Are you alright? You seem perturbed-”
“Ingo, what the fuck?” Emmet looked at him incredulously. “What the actual fuck? Is that what you were doing this whole time in Hisui? Fist fighting Pokemon?”
“Emmet-”
“You said you have not mentioned everything. And you just happened to gloss over this?” he asked, gesturing to the unconscious heap of deadly dragon. “And you say I’m the impulsive one! That I’m the careless one!”
“Emmet-”
“Really, I wish I had a video of that! Elesa would kill to-”
“Emmet!” Ingo shouted, cutting off his rambling. He was pointing behind Emmet, a worried expression on his face. Emmet turned around and saw the Hydreigon getting back up. Emmet rolled his eyes.
He pulled out an Ultra Ball at the now-concussed monster, still screaming, “Oh and you! What was that! Did he pay you? Is that it? Are you a paid actor?” The poor dark dragon barely had the ability to sit up again before it was smacked with a well-aimed Pokeball, the ball hardly shaking as it caught. “That thing had to be at least 350 pounds and you just lifted it like a sack of potatoes! What the hell were you eating, Ingo? What were they giving you? Meth? Opium? Was your diet pure testosterone supplements?” Emmet was now pacing, waving his hands around wildly.
“I saw you’d gained muscle. And that’s great! But you never mentioned you could backflip a grown Hydreigon. What else are you hiding? Can you walk on water? What skills did they teach you there? How did you just learn this shit-”
“Emmet, I had to fend for myself daily. There was a kind woman who taught me basic martial arts. I acted on instinct. I apologize if it was jarring-”
“Jarring?! Ingo, you just hefted one of the deadliest Pokemon in the entire region like it was a Lillipup! What kinds of instincts were ingrained into you? Is this why your back is so compressed?” Emmet continued on in this manner for a little longer. Then he suddenly found himself in the air, warm hands pressed against his back as he was lifted clear above Ingo. He squawked in surprise. “Iiiiii-INGO WHAT THE HELL!”
Ingo calmly left him aloft, not saying anything for a moment as Emmet shouted at him. “You know I don’t like heights!”
“Then if I set you down, will you allow me a chance to speak?” Ingo asked him. Emmet took a deep breath in. Let it out.
“Fine. As long as you explain yourself.” Ingo’s arms lowered, allowing Emmet to slip out of his grip and onto the sweet, sweet ground. He scuttled away from Ingo a little bit, now aware that if he really got annoyed, he could snap Emmet in half like a toothpick. He wouldn’t. But the fact that in theory, he could…
“Hisui was harsh. Alpha Pokemon were common. I had to defend myself for some time without the use of Pokemon. So I trained in order to be able to survive. That is why I am now proficient in some more skills. You want to ask me something?” he questioned, looking at Emmet’s hopeful gaze.
