Hi!! I love your work so much!! For fluffy thoughts, I picture Dream coming to visit Hob in his home one evening. It’s just dusk so everything has that blue tint. And maybe it’s near the holidays so everything feels cozy and there’s twinkling lights. And Hob is doing a puzzle, and Dream joins him. But maybe doesn’t fully participate because I feel like he would be way too good at puzzles and it would be over in a snap of his fingers haha
ahhh, i love this dearly! <3

Now, in the Whizzvin household, we know Whizzer is only half Jewish. I still don't think they celebrate Christmas itself, but I do think that Whizzer convinces Marvin to let them do some more Chirstmasy traditions each year. For instance, decorating the house with colorful lights, making gingerbread houses, and baking Christmas cookies (though usually with less Christmas-specific shapes, like snowflakes, stars, and candy canes). He definitely puts up a Happy Hanukkah banner of some kind. Marvin isn't the biggest fan, but he's glad Whizzer's excited and Jason seems to enjoy it.
At the lesbians' household, I know that Charlotte is Jewish and Cordelia is not. For winter holidays, they mix it up decorations-wise in December. For one example, they both light the menorah and decorate a tree. They have ornaments shaped like the Star of David, dreidels, menorahs, and other blue and white bulbs. Also, Cordelia always makes a fruitcake, and I will be taking no criticism on that fact-

Some seven kingdoms Christmas/Winter Holiday headcanons!
The biggest tradition Corona has is the entire kingdom getting the biggest tree they can find and decorating it in the palace courtyard as soon as December begins. At least three times a week there’s a little choir march that sings carols throughout the town. And of course, naturally, they have jolly old St Nikolas who leaves gifts for all the good boys and girls of Corona….and St Krampus the ghostly elf who leaves them coal and scares them, but Rapunzel doesn’t need to know about that part yet. Another big tradition is telling ghost stories, the most famous one of all being the legend of Ebenezer Scrooge. Every year the Corona Newsies and other children gather around and listen as Cass tells them the story.
Saporia has technically two holidays- the Festival of Lights and Yule. The Festival of Lights is the longest Saporian holiday, and candles of a menora (as is the Jewish tradition) and owl feathers constantly lit to pray for Skinandi to be with Breyta during their slumber and keep Skinandi in the home as well. The Festival lasts 7 days and 7 nights. There’s music and games and feasts throughout the week, and a common game during this holiday is Dreidel, and adults will often place bets as to which letter it will land on. Back in the day dragons used to light torches in the square of Dragonwharf each night but that tradition ended after the unification. Yule is the last day of the Festival of Lights. Families get together and make cookies and breads made in the shape of flowers to honor Skinandi. A common dinner entree is goose, usually roasted by a dragon. In the ancient days the entree used to be a Phoenix before they were hunted to near extinction. Families also decorate their trees with flowers and dragon scales, exchange gifts with one another, and a townwide toast is given to the gods. Instead of Santa Claus, they have Jólakötturinn, the giant Yule Cat. Children will leave giant treats for it (a cake or a roast turkey) and get new clothes for Christmas to show Jólakötturinn they are faring well.
Neserdnia throws a country wide tournament that lasts the entire winter called Makahiki. There’s TONS of games and competitions throughout the season. But the most of it lies in December. They’ll dance, play games, boat race, play with the dolphins, and eat tons of food. The winner of the festival is announced on December 25th and they are invited to the palace to feast on a Kalua pig with the Chief and her family. Even families who aren’t participating in the official tournament can have little tournaments of their own, and the whole family has their on Kalua pig on the 25th as well.
Ingvarr has Yalda Night, which is celebrated on Winter Solstice. Yalda is considered the first battle for many young Ingvarrans. Because Yalda is the longest night, it is believed that this is the time when the forces of evil are at their most powerful. Because of this, Ingvarrans spend all of the night before the Solstice staying awake. They’ll feast on fruit, sing songs, and tell ghost stories in the company of friends and family. Some of the elder members of family will also pray, asking the Great Lion for protection throughout the night. If they stay up until dawn then the battle is considered won and they feast in victory.
Galcrest has Quviasukvik, which is the start of their New Year. It lasts about two weeks. The people of Galcrest will all wake early to greet the first sunrise of the year, gather in the palace square and pray, then have a great feast in silence. As a show of equality and goodwill, they all drink from the same cup and have a toast to a year of good fortune. Some of the younger Galcrestan men will swim with the penguins and try to race them.
Christmas time is one of the most sacred times of the year for Bayangor. Along with the solstice, they celebrate the official founding of Bayangor. As such, it is a time where peace, the preservation of life, and goodwill are extremely important. Naturally, they call it De jiérì eiríni (Festival of Peace) A common tradition during the week is to offer both family and strangers alike apples as a gesture of peace. Some other customs include hanging up boughs of evergreen and mistletoe, eating warm foods such as soup, and some families will pray to their ancestors. The most important tradition of all is that all the poor are invited to a feast at the palace.
In Koto, they don’t really celebrate Christmas or Winter Solstice to the degree the other kingdoms do. Families will get together for a special meal for the solstice but that’s about it
Pittsford’s Christmas is similar to Corona’s. Instead of St Nikolas, they have Old Man Winter or Grandfather Frost, and his granddaughter the Snow Maiden. It is said that the Snow Maiden is the one to bring winter to the kingdom and Grandfather Frost rewards well behaved Pittsfordians with gifts for enduring the harsh winter. Pittsfordians drink and feast the entire night of December 24th, and then officially start celebrating on the 25. The celebration lasts until January 7, and on the New Year they bring a fresh evergreen tree into the home.

baking cookies and then eating them and drinking hot chocolate with Jason qwq - gym ball anon
Good morning gym I’m sorry I didn’t answer this yesterday •w•”
- Jason has the largest fucking collection of cookie cutters out there. Literally for every occasion. Any size or shape of Christmas tree, wreath, dreidel, boots, mittens, reindeer, Santa, or gingerbread man you could want is there
- he also insists on piling frosting on. He wants to show off his amazing cookie decorating skills, including how good he is at piping frosting, so he won’t stop until his cookie is perfect
- whatever, dude. You have fun eating your three-inch thick cookies. Unfortunately he bugs you over and over to give you some of his cookies, and he plays dirty by giving you puppy eyes
- at least the hot chocolate is good. He doesn’t make it super sweet, and it’s in the perfect sized mug to curl up with on the couch and and watch movies under a blanket

I’m disappointed that the producers of the PLL TV Series wrote out the fact Hanna is canonically Jewish even if she is non - practicing and had a blended tradition family ( Ashley Marin is not to my knowledge also Jewish ). There’s a whole scene in the books where Tom tries to bond with Hanna again, recognizes that the christmas celebrations are bumming her out & makes it up to her by celebrating Hanukkah. ( I’ll probably transcribe that encounter from the companion novel at the end of this post. )
I mean, maybe I should not be as upset by this as I am - because I’m not religious and have never been Jewish ever in my life.
However, I’ve also had experienced the frustration and big sad™ when something that me and a loved one did together was discarded and this just doesn’t set well with me.
( I think I will make more references to this ( even if she is non - practicing ) as a nod to the fact Hanna felt it was important enough to mention to Isabel during the Christmas party. )
First Reference:
Hanna drove slowly the rest of the way home, taking deep, cleansing breaths. After gunning the car up her family’s driveway, she nearly crashed into a line of vehicles she didn’t recognize. There had to be about fifteen sedans, SUVs, and crossovers parked in the circular drive. Then she noticed something blinking by the garage. Christmas lights. And was that a glow-in-the-dark Santa and an inflatable gingerbread man in the front yard? She took tentative steps toward the house. Dot, wearing some kind of bizarre headpiece, yipped at her feet when she walked inside. Wait. Were those reindeer antlers? Hanna scooped him up and stared at the two plush stalks on his head. Each was tipped with a tiny jingle bell. “Who did this to you?” Hanna whispered, ripping them off. Dot just licked her face. She looked around the living room and gasped. Holly leaves snaked around the banister. A mechanical Mrs. Claus waved from the console table that had once held Hanna’s mother’s austere ceramic vases. A tall, tinsel-laden tree stood in the corner, and the fireplace, which Hanna couldn’t remember the family ever using, was ablaze. “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” played on the stereo at maximum volume, and the whole house smelled like honey-glazed ham. “Hello?” Hanna called out. Laughter floated out from the kitchen, first Isabel’s goose-honk chortle, then her dad’s booming guffaw. Hanna rounded the corner. The kitchen was packed with people holding champagne flutes and appetizer plates filled with mini quiches and wedges of Brie. Many of them wore Santa hats, including Hanna’s dad. Isabel stood in the corner, wearing a red velvet dress tipped with Mrs. Claus white fur on the cuffs and hem, and Kate had on a tight-fitting red jersey sheath and black-and-white Kate Spade heels. Mistletoe hung from the chandelier, a carafe of mulled cider sat on the counter, and plates and plates of the most delicious-looking Christmas cookies and appetizers filled the island. Isabel spied Hanna and glided over. “Hanna! Feliz Navidad! O Tannenbaum! Merry Christmas!” Hanna sniffed. “Um, actually, I’m Jewish. And so is my father.” Isabel blinked dumbly, like she couldn’t comprehend that anyone, let alone her own fiancé, could celebrate anything other than Christmas. Mr. Marin appeared at Isabel’s side. “Hey, sweetie,” he said, ruffling Hanna’s hair. Hanna stared at him incredulously. “Since when do you celebrate Christmas?” She said the word like she might have said Satan’s birthday. Mr. Marin crossed his arms over his chest defensively. “I’ve been celebrating it with Isabel and Kate for the past few years. I told Kate to tell you.” “Well, she didn’t,” Hanna said flatly. “We do the Twelve Days of Christmas every year. We always kick it off with a bash.” Isabel took a sip of champagne. “It’s a wonderful tradition. We started early this year with tonight—kind of a housewarming-meets-Christmas thing.” “And we’d like you to be a part of the tradition too, of course,” Mr. Marin added. Hanna stared at all of the red and green paraphernalia. Her family had never been that religious, but they lit menorah candles every night of Hanukkah. On Christmas Day, they ordered Chinese takeout, watched movie marathons, and went on a long family bike ride if the weather was decent. She liked those traditions.
Second Mention:
She pulled into the driveway of her house, wanting nothing more than to crawl into bed and watch hours and hours of bad TV. Strangely, her father’s car was still in the driveway—not at Longwood Gardens. And the Christmas decorations that had festooned the front of the property were gone. When she opened the front door, it no longer smelled like fresh pine and cinnamon sticks but more like . . . potato pancakes? “Hanna!” Mr. Marin appeared from the kitchen. “There you are! Come in, come in! We have a surprise for you!” He whisked Hanna through the living room, but not before she noticed that the mechanical Mrs. Claus had vanished, the Christmas tree was unlit, and the stockings that had hung over the fireplace—there were monogrammed ones for Isabel, Kate, and Hanna’s dad, and a blank one presumably for Hanna—had been taken down. The old silver menorah Bubbe Marin had given Hanna’s parents sat on the mantel. Three candles blazed. “What’s going on?” Hanna asked suspiciously. Mr. Marin turned Hanna toward the dining room. There was a huge spread of food on the table, and Kate and Isabel were sitting in high-backed chairs, tepid smiles on their faces. “Surprise!” Mr. Marin crowed. “Happy Hanna-kah!” Hanna blinked at the items on the table. There were all the traditional Hanukkah foods her grandmother used to serve: latkes, jelly donuts called sufganiyot, kugel, chocolate coins, and a large brisket. Off to the side were the old dreidels she and her cousins had spun for hours, turning the game into a kind of truth or dare—if the dreidel fell on the gimel side, Tamar, her younger cousin, had to steal a dollar out of her mother’s wallet, and so on. A blue foil banner with Star of David cutouts was draped across the windows, and candles glowed around the room. Small gifts wrapped in silver paper sat on everyone’s plates. “I thought you guys were going to Santa’s Village,” Hanna said slowly. “Oh, we can do that any day,” Mr. Marin said. “I thought you might be a little upset since we’re doing so many Christmas activities, so we thought we’d celebrate our holiday tonight! Hanukkah—or Hanna-kah!” He gestured to the food on the table. “Kate and Isabel did some baking this evening, though some of this came from the kosher deli near Ferra’s Cheesesteaks.” “Your dad says you know all of the Hanukkah stories, Hanna,” Isabel said politely. “I’d love to hear them.” “This is all so nice.” Hanna’s heart expanded, just like the Grinch’s. This was definitely the nicest thing her dad had done for her in a long, long time. Her father passed around plates, and everyone began serving themselves latkes and pieces of brisket bathed in sauce. Hanna took a moderate amount of food, feeling virtuous from boot camp. Wine was poured—even Hanna and Kate got some—and everyone opened their gifts. Kate and Hanna got gift cards to Fermata Spa. Isabel got a small Christmas tree–shaped charm to add to her silver Pandora bracelet. Mr. Marin had given himself a new Swiss Army knife. He immediately unfolded the scissors and cut the tag off of Isabel’s bauble. Then, Mr. Marin launched into stories about Bubbe Marin, who used to make the best potato pancakes in the world. “We used to go over there every night of Hanukkah,” he explained. “She’d always have huge gifts for Hanna.” “Isn’t that sweet,” Isabel trilled, looking surprised, as though she’d never imagined someone would shower Hanna with gifts. “And she had this African gray parrot, Morty,” Mr. Marin went on, spearing a latke. “He knew every swearword in the world.” “He was crazy!” Hanna giggled. “I think I learned some new ones from him!” “And he loved to watch those tabloid shows—what were they called?” Mr. Marin’s face was flushed. “E! News,” Hanna repeated. “He was obsessed with Giuliana Rancic. Remember? He said she was such a pretty bitch in that crazy bird voice!” “Who’s Giuliana Rancic?” Isabel asked, blinking quickly. Hanna’s father was too busy shaking with laughter to answer. Hanna laughed too, also not bothering to fill Isabel in. It felt nice to have an inside joke with her father again, something from their lives before Isabel and Kate. They continued eating, sharing stories about Hanna’s grandmother’s obsessions with yard sales, animal figurines, and her crush on Bob Barker from The Price Is Right. By the time the meal was over, Hanna and her dad kept bursting into laughter but not bothering to explain themselves. Isabel rose to clear the table, but Mr. Marin waved her to sit down. “I can clean up,” he said.
Third Reference:
Now, Hanna sighed. After her new family had thrown Hanna a Hanukkah bone a few nights ago, everything had gone back to normal shortly afterward. The Twelve Days of Christmas nonsense had resumed, though Hanna had been able to get out of a lot of it because of boot camp.

Dreidel *Bucky Barnes x Reader*
This is for @sexylibrarian1 :) I don’t know if you’ve played Dreidel, I recommend looking into the rules and playing it with a few friends, I’m pretty sure me and my family play it kinda wrong... so, I’ve tried to go through the proper rules and it come across a bit weird cause I’ve also thrown in a few of my fam’s rules lol
Pairing: Bucky x [F]Reader (Jewish Reader)
Additional Characters: Sam Wilson & Wanda Maximoff
Rating: [13+] Teen
Warnings: None, just fluffy goodness
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“You sure they want to?” You asked your boyfriend in a whispered breath, gnawing at your bottom lip and holding the small pewter box.
He lets slip a sigh, casting his azure eyes down at you, “Of course, they’re really excited to meet you and play this game.”
You nod and smile slightly. The nerves didn’t leave you though, despite only hearing nice things about Bucky’s friends and, obviously, they’re Avengers so they’re bound to be nice. You still had this deep dread that they didn’t like you, that they would tell Bucky you’re not attractive or wrong for him.
You’re just a normal person; not a superhero or a vigilante.  You met Bucky because of your friendship with Steve Rogers during the snappening, you went to the weekly meetings he held at the VA. You lost everyone during those five years, you tried to get through and your talks with Captain America sorta helped.
Now you’re still trying to rebuild your old life, sure everyone is back but everything has changed.
The best change has been Bucky, you still need to thank Steve for introducing you to him. It was a chance meeting, a weird one at that because Steve was suddenly old... well, looked old. But Bucky had captured your heart from the moment you met him, despite his initial awkward stage, once he warmed to you there was no going back.
Now you’re at the stage of meeting one another’s family and friends, granted that Buckys’s family is now his friends; the pressure was starting to get to you. You thought Bucky meeting your Jewish family was bad stress, meeting Bucky’s superhero family was worse.
“Stop worrying,” lips press to your temple, “they’re going to love you.”
You let a small sigh, squeezing his hand lightly as he walked up the porch steps and watch as he opened the front door to Sam’s house. You raised an eyebrow as Bucky just lets himself in, he gives a cheeky smile over his shoulder as he leads you in.
“Samwise?” Bucky yells you let out a short snicker before seeing the Falcon give his friend a disapproving look, “Door was unlocked, I’ve told you many times to lock it.”
Sam only rolls his eyes, “Hi Y/N, I’m Sam,” he steps forward and holds his arms out for a hug, which you gladly accept whilst chuckling. “Happy Hanukkah,” you smile brightly as Sam does a proud, victorious smile at your reaction.
“He only said that because I reminded him that you’re Jewish,” Bucky snickers and hugs Wanda tightly, allowing the girl to greet you briefly.
“Still,” you begin, “It’s the sentiment that counts, James.”
Sam only nods in agreement, “I’ll drink to that,” he downs half a cup of eggnog as you chuckle.
You end up sitting in Sam’s living room, glasses of various hot drinks being consumed along with cookies shaped like trees. The movie It’s A Wonderful Life serving as background noise to the mindless chatter, Sam and Bucky deep in conversation about sports, yourself and Wanda in conversation about life.
“Bucky tells me that you were alone during those five years,” Wanda smiles softly and you nod, “must’ve been rough, Clint doesn’t really talk about what happened during that time just because it’s… painful.”
“I was lucky enough to find Steve a year in,” you smiled, “it was nice to just have a friend, I guess. All my family was snapped, there wasn’t much reason for my job. I ended up going to one of his meetings and then I kinda relied on it.”
Wanda nodded, “Can’t imagine the holiday seasons were that fun. I mean, holidays without my brother are bad enough, but without everyone?” The mere thought of being alone makes the Maximoff girl shudder.
A deep exhale left you, you hardly celebrated any Jewish holiday during those years. It was hard to, especially without your family. You may not stick to your Jewish roots through the entire year, but during the holidays you kept up the traditions.
“I got Steve to celebrate Hanukkah with me once,” Sam raised his eyebrows at that, “it wasn’t anything grand, we lit the Menorah and ate latkes, played a few games of Dreidel too. It was like a stripped back version of Hanukkah for me, probably, what my bubbe used to do back in her days- well, Steve’s also, but he isn’t Jewish.”
You shake your head cursing yourself for rambling, meeting Bucky’s eyes who are sparkling with amusement at your little ramble. He looks like he’s about to say something but Sam breaks the silence before him, almost spilling the contents of his drink as he talks.
“Dreidel, that’s the game you bought, right?” You nod once, “I’mma need a rundown of this game, also I’m incredibly competitive, so no cheating since you must know all the tricks.” He gives you a stern glare as he lowers himself to the floor, watching you open the small box you came with.
You let slip a giggle, “It’s hard to cheat at Dreidel, my brother always found a way though, I still have no idea how.” Wanda gets comfortable beside Bucky’s legs, “rules are simple enough, I even brought along the Dreidel that has the translation on, so I won’t be able to cheat by making it up to better me.”
You start by pulling out chocolate coins, instantly grabbing Bucky’s attention, handing them out evenly till you all have 15 each. “Okay, start by placing one of your coins into the centre, we’ll do this every round,” Sam looks reluctant to let his piece go but he does once Bucky throws his into the pile. “Now I’ll spin the Dreidel, each letter means something,” you spin the Dreidel and it lands with a dull thud on Nun. “That means do nothing, so I do nothing, now it’s Wanda’s turn but first,” you throw a coin in and watch as everyone does the same.
You watch as Wanda spins the Dreidel, also landing on Nun before it’s passed to Sam you each put a new coin. “We’ll do this till someone runs out or wins all the coins, by the way,” Sam already looks tense as he counts his remaining coins. His spin lands on Shin, “you have to put in two coins,” the disbelief on his face is priceless.”
Bucky takes his turn, “Hay,” he smiles triumphantly, “take half the pot!”
The little chuckle that emits from the Winter Soldier is priceless, pulling the chocolate coins towards him with a smirk that sets the Falcon off.
“Every game. I swear, every game we play,” Sam sulks, even though he hasn’t even lost, yet.
“There’s still a chance for you to get Gimel, that means everything in the pot,” you try to defuse the situation- and it works… briefly.
By the end of the first game, Bucky was winning, not even caring to hide his laugh as Sam kept getting Shin or Nun. The second game, that was mostly for Sam, it was an equal playing field. By the third game, it was just between the two, yourself and Wanda sat and watched, laughing and mostly rooting for Sam- much to Bucky’s dismay.
“That game,” Sam sighed as he walked you and Bucky to his door, “you have to bring it to the new Avengers HQ,” you nod with a grin, “I’m totally gonna kick T’Challa’s ass at it.” He hugs you goodbye.
“Have a good Christmas, Sammy,” he gives you a mock glare but a smile is hidden beneath as he waves you down the path.
The walk back to your place is silent, your hand is in Bucky’s once again and you're swinging them as you walk, a bright grin plastered on your face despite the cold, frosty night air.
“I told you,” Bucky breaks the silence, pulling you slightly into his side and letting go of your hand to wrap an arm around your waist, “they love you. Almost as much as I do,” that makes your heart flutter, even though you’ve heard those words before.
“Didn’t think Sam would get that competitive at Dreidel, honestly.”
Bucky chuckles, throwing his head back, “You’ve opened a can of worms with that one, I suspect he’s gonna buy his own to practice,” you let out a snort but you could totally see that happening.
“Says you,” Bucky looks down at you, “you got the exact same when playing against my dad last week.”
“And I still have yet to beat him, he’s really good at it,” Bucky sighs lightly, “One day. One day I will beat him at Dreidel, he won’t let me marry you till I prove that,” it’s clearly a joke but the seriousness of his voice makes you doubled over in laughter. “You laugh but in twenty years time when I still haven’t asked you, it’s because of that game.”
You calm down and kiss his cold cheek softly, still giggling against his stubbly jaw. “You still gotta get through Rosh Hashanah, you missed this year due to being a superhero, next year… you’ll see. Next year we’ll go full Jewish, I’m willing to be super Christmasy with you this year.”
Bucky only smiles down at you, he tightens his hold around your waist. He doesn’t really mind what you celebrate, the fact you picture spending the next year with him makes his heart fill with joy.

“Hey everyone!” You smiled into the camera wondering why you were doing this.
“Hi!” Felix smiled and waved at the camera.
“Hello guys.” Peter said at the camera. It felt weird being on the other side of the camera but the slow declining views your friends were getting snapped you out of it. “We’re being held here against our will.” Peter said as Felix rolled up his sleeves nodding his head, looking at the baking supplies on the table.
“We’re going to make holiday cookies!” You beamed at the camera.
“I’m Jewish you don’t need me for this.” Peter said attempting to leave not wanting to be around Felix ‘I burn everything I make’ E-Boy.
“No I have Hanukkah cookie decorations!” You said as Felix dragged Peter back into frame.
“I’ll decorate the cookies!” Felix said leaning back into a back counter.
“No! You’ll make Christmas ones and Peter will make Hanukkah ones!” You said pushing Felix off the counter.
“What are you going to do?” Felix asks as he complied and looked at the ingredients in the table in front of him.
“I’ll eat them and read stuff while you bake.” You said and sit on top of the counter with your legs swinging beneath you. Sighing the boys look at the recipes in front of him and you open up a tab with a few fan fictions ready to read them.
“Okay this one is about PumpkinBat. Anddd from context clues I think it’s about Felix and I.” You said tugging your leg underneath you.
“Let me see.” Felix said leaning backwards to try and look at your phone. Showing him your phone screen he tried wiping off the egg that covered his hands to scroll through the page.
“Y/N it literally says who it’s about in the title.” Felix said poking the screen.
“Context clues my ass.” Peter laughed as he continued making his cookies.
“Language!” You said as you shooed Felix away and back to his cookies. Clearing your throat you started reading. “Okay let’s start! ‘Felix looked into Y/N eyes adoringly as the mornings first rays went through the window. He softly kissed her, wishing he could stay in this moment forever. Th-”
“First of all. I don’t know if you guys know this but the three of us live together and we see each other in the morning and Y/n has dried drool on her face every single morning.” Felix said poking flour covered fingers at the camera. Peter laughed loudly as he continued making his cookies.
“I do not! I look amazing in the morning!” You said laughing as the boys continued with their respected cookies. Timed passed and you finished reading the fic between Felix and you.
“This one is between Peter and I! Uu it’s a flower shop AU Io-” You started saying smiling at the camera.
“What’s our ship name?” Peter asked you as he stole some frosting to eat from Felix then promptly getting swatted at with a small spoon.
“Ermmm just Peter X Y/n.” You said looking at the tags trying to find any, Peter scrunched his nose. “You guys need to come up with a good ship name.” He said pointing at the camera with the spoon the was holding. Rolling your eyes you continued reading through the fic.
“And that is all!” You smiled tugging your leg underneath you waiting for the boys to say their goodbyes.
“Wait. You said you had one with the three of us.” Peter said confused speaking before he could think. “Yea you told us you kept getting tagged in one.” Felix said as he bit down on now of his burnt cookies.
“You don’t want to hear it trust me.” You said through laughter
“Woooowww rude.”
“Trust me you don’t want to hear it.” You said again trying to avoid eye contact, feeling your face get red.
“I can’t believe the false advertisement.” Peter said with a coy smile leaning against the counter besides him. They kept poking at you to read it and when you refused they went to look for their phones.
You could hear doors opening and stuff being pushed down on to the floor ass they yelled from different parts of the house asking you to call their phones. After many pillows being thrown on the floor and grunting they finally decided to just take your phone.
“I can’t believe you lied to us like this.” Felix said reaching for your phone as you try to hide your phone under your leg.
“Fine fine whatever I’ll read it” You said throwing your hands up in defeat reaching for your phone and unlocking it trying your best to hide behind it. “I kept getting tagged in this one on twitter by Pumkinbat and ummm it’s about the three of us.”
“Living together?”
“Existing together?”
“No ummm it’s a smut about the three of us...” You said turning brighter red, when those words fell out of your mouth your two friends turned a light shade of pink. You read some of the sentences you had highlighted and by the end the three of you looked everywhere but at each other.
“Why would you read us that!” Felix said poking at his burnt Christmas tree shaped cookies.
“You could’ve read literally anything else.” Peter said meticulously putting on candy ornaments on his cookies.
“You guys forced me to! This was against my will” You said pointing at them with your phone. “It was borderline a hostage thing!” You said throwing a hand towel at Peter’s head, that missed him and hit him on his back. Awkward minutes melted away as the three of you started playfully bickering.
“Happy holidays!” The three of you yelled smiling into the camera as Peter tried playfully feeding you a dreidel cookie.

Cookie Cutters- Willow Rosenberg
Tumblr media
Pairing: Willow Rosenberg x Reader
Characters: Willow Rosenberg
Warnings: N/A
Request: Wattpad- Willow and the reader making Christmas sugar cookies
Word Count: 445
Author: Charlotte
With the dough prepped you begun to roll it out into an even layer whilst Willow begun to gather up all of the dirty kitchen utensils you had been using to place them in the sink, ready to be washed. Once it was at a good height, you called Willow back so that you could work together.
“I have some cookie cutters,” you said, unzipping a bag filled with various shape cutters that you had gathered throughout your life. “Or you can just use a knife and cut them out.”
Willow nodded, rummaging through the bag to find anything that would work for what she wanted. Unlike her, you easily found what you needed. Over the years you had gathered many Christmas themed cookie cutters, some better than others. You decided on a Christmas Tree, a snowflake and a gingerbread man (although the biscuits would not actually be gingerbread) to make up your festive themed biscuits.
As you begun to press the cutters into the dough, you noticed Willow hacking into her side of it with a knife, having discarded the bag of cookie cutters.
“What are you trying to make?” You asked.
“Well your cookie cutters are very Christmassy, but you don’t have any that are Jewish. Do they even make Jewish cookie cutters?” Willow became distracted by her own words, falling into her own thoughts before shaking herself out of it.
“I did look but I couldn’t find any that were explicitly for Hanukkah nor any that I could try and pretend were,” you apologised.
Willow gave you a warm smile, not minding that she would have to be a little creative to try and make biscuits that would work for her wintertime holiday.
The two of you continued on to make the biscuits but by the time you had filled your tray, you noticed that Willow only had a couple on hers.
“What is that one meant to be?” You asked, pointing to one.
“It’s a menorah,” she said as though it was the most obvious thing in the world.
You cocked an eyebrow at her. “It looks more like a mangled octopus.”
Willow shot you a look before mushing up the dough and returning it to the side for her to roll back out and try again.
“At least the dreidel looks kind of like what it is meant to be,” she said, seeking reassurance about her biscuit cutting skills.
“Would you like some help?” You offered.
She nodded her head.
Together the two of you tried to do your best to make Hanukkah biscuits but you doubted once they were baked they would look any better than they did now.

HANNUKAH GIFTS FOR @subkatz
Olivia used some of the frozen cookie dough she’s had on reserve to make dreidel-shaped surprise cookies full of m&m’s or fruit jams, along with a ‘joke’ gift t-shirt. She also made a ‘spa day’ jar for her and Julian- inside a bath bomb, massage oils, and other various little things. The card inside the box has a fingerprint Christmas tree that Lily made for her.
Our dearest Bobbi, thank you for being so wonderful and for loving us so much. Life is so much better with you in it and I’m so glad you chose my bakery to walk into that one day. You immediately became one of Lily’s favorite people and I know you’re one of mine too. Love you now and always.

Magnus Bane/Alec Lightwood ❆ Rating: G, Word Count: 1751 ❆ Human AU, Single Parent Magnus, Fluff, Domestic Fluff, Christmas Cookies, Holidays
For @gingerangelofthursday for the @bytheangeldaily Holiday Gift Exchange. I hope you like it, and have an amazing 2019! ♥
‘Brought the flour you asked,’ Alec says as he steps into the kitchen. He looks and smells cold and windswept, his cheeks and nose red. Snowflakes are melting in his hair.
Magnus is always happy to see his downstairs neighbour, but right now he’s most excited about the bag of flour Alec is carrying under his arm. ‘Thank you.’ Magnus takes the bag and immediately starts measuring out what he needs.
‘Hi, Alec,’ Madzie says a little distractedly. She’s sitting at the kitchen island, a huge sheet of cookie dough rolled out in front of her. She’s carefully cutting out shapes with an assortment of cookie cutters.
‘What are you guys making?’
Magnus vaguely registers the rustling of Alec taking off his coat and the scraping of chair legs as Alec sits down next to Madzie.
‘Cookies,’ Madzie says like it should be obvious.
Alec huffs out a laugh. ‘I can see that. But what for? And why this many? Are you and your dad going to eat nothing but cookies this Christmas?’
‘They’re for school, so children who don’t have money can have a nice Christmas.’
‘Charity bake sale,’ Magnus adds.
‘Ah. Do you need any help?’
Magnus can’t help but smile at Madzie’s narrowed eyes as she looks at Alec, then glances at her dad. Can she trust Alec with this? They’ve both tasted some of his cooking before and it wasn’t… great. Slowly, she hands him a Christmas tree cookie cutter.
‘You can use this one.’
‘Thank you.’ Alec glances at Magnus, eyebrows raised. Magnus quickly goes back to his dough.
They find a rhythm. Magnus makes the dough, Alec helps Madzie cut out the shapes—under Madzie’s strict supervision—and then Magnus puts the cookies in the oven. After a couple hours they have about a hundred cookies in all shapes and sizes. There are quite a few Christmas trees and Santas, but Madzie wanted everyone to have a special cookie, so there are dreidels and snowmen, and a couple other shapes that Magnus can’t really define but he’s sure his daughter has a plan for.
‘Shouldn’t we decorate them?’ Alec asks, already going for the glazing and sprinkles.
‘No!’ Madzie shouts and latches onto his outstretched arm. ‘We have to let them cool down first.’
Alec presses his lips together in a barely suppressed smile and winks at Magnus. Magnus quickly looks away, so he doesn’t betray Alec with a smile of his own.
‘Well, what should we do in the meantime?’ Alec asks Madzie, easily turning her grip on his arm into them holding hands, and follows her to the living room.
‘Can we watch a movie?’
‘Sure, but maybe let Alec pick this time, sweetpea.’
‘I pick Princess and the Frog,’ Alec says.
Madzie marches triumphantly to the television.
‘You really shouldn’t give in to her so easily,’ Magnus sighs.
‘I know, but it’s hard to say no to those pigtails.’
Magnus snorts. ‘She had you wrapped around her little finger from the first time you met.’
‘True,’ Alec chuckles. He shrugs. ‘I don’t mind. So far, she’s never abused her powers.’
‘Are you sure?’ Magnus nods to where the Disney logo is appearing on the screen.
‘It’s an amazing movie,’ Alec protests.
‘Well, while you two are going to watch your amazing movie, I’m going to clean up the kitchen,’ Magnus says, pouting. ‘All on my own. With no one to help me.’
‘Make sure to clean up yourself a little, too,’ Alec teases. Then his hand is cradling Magnus’ cheek and his thumb swipes across Magnus’ cheekbone. Heat gathers where Alec’s palm is warm against his skin, then spreads through his entire body. Magnus forgets to breath for a second. ‘You’re covered in flour.’
When Alec removes his hand Magnus barely resists the urge to chase after that warm pressure.
The kitchen isn’t too big of a mess, but he does need to make room for the decorating. After a quick stop in the bathroom to wash his face, and a change of shirt, he joins Madzie and Alec on the couch.
‘We ordered Chinese,’ Alec tells him. ‘With extra spring rolls for you. For cleaning the kitchen.’ He turns his head and throws Magnus a beatific smile.
‘Thanks. And–‘
‘Shhh!’ Madzie glares at them both, then focusses back on the movie.
Magnus raises his eyebrows and catches Alec’s eye, then quickly looks away before he bursts out laughing.
They have dinner in front of the TV. The movie ends and Madzie drags them back to the kitchen to decorate the cookies. She gives them very specific instructions for how each is to be decorated, then stage whispers to Magnus to keep a close eye on Alec. Alec throws Magnus an affronted look when Madzie can’t see him, but Magnus supports his daughter on this one. Alec needs to be watched when it comes to preparing any kind of food, since, according to Madzie, he can even mess up a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
‘Are you going to helps sell the cookies?’ Madzie asks, looking up from the snowman she’s decorating and turning to Alec.
‘I don’t think I’m allowed.’ At Madzie’s confused frown Alec explains, ‘I’m not a parent or family.’
‘Oh.’
‘Although, I could always pretend to be your dad’s boyfriend. You think that’ll get me in?’
Madzie turns with shining eyes to Magnus, silently pleading, but there’s something else there, too. Something that means she’s plotting.
‘Sure,’ Magnus says. ‘Alec can pretend to be my boyfriend to help sell the cookies.’
‘Yesss,’ Madzie grins, casts another look between the two men, and goes back to decorating.
Magnus can’t remember the last time he had this much fun, or felt so completely at peace. He doesn’t want the night to ever end, but Madzie has school the next day, which means she has to go to bed on time.
He sends her off to put on her pyjamas and brush her teeth, while he and Alec clean up all the spilled glazing and sprinkles. She’s barely in the hallway when she turns around and fixes both men with her gaze.
‘You can each have one cookie tonight,’ she says. ‘Just one.’
‘Thank you,’ Alec says, a serious look on her face.
‘We’ll only take one each,’ Magnus promises.
Madzie nods and continues on her way.
‘She’ll count them tomorrow, won’t she?’ Alec asks.
‘Oh, definitely,’ Magnus says. ‘She’ll get up extra early to make sure she has the time to count them twice.’
Alec chuckles, and starts loading the dishwasher.
‘She’s a great kid, Magnus.’
‘I know.’
‘She’s lucky to have you.’
‘Thank you.’ It’s barely more than a whisper, and it’s a struggle to get the words past the lump in his throat.
Madzie calls for Magnus when she’s ready for bed, and when he walks in, she’s already lying under the covers, the book she’s going to read by her flashlight barely tucked under her pillow. Magnus pretends he doesn’t see it. He’ll check on her in an hour.
‘Daddy,’ Madzie starts the second he walks into the room.
‘Yes, sweetpea?’
‘What if you asked Alec to really be your boyfriend? Then he wouldn’t have to pretend to come to the bake sale.’
‘Madzie…’
She sits up. ‘You smile more when he’s here. And he smiles when he looks at you.’
Magnus sits down on the edge of the mattress with a sigh. ‘Well, we’re friends. We like spending time together.’
Madzie looks unimpressed. ‘He’s here all the time. He’s come over every day this week.’
‘Well…’ Magnus has no idea what to say. He’s getting called out on his crush by his own daughter. ‘What if it doesn’t work out?’
‘It will.’
‘And you would be okay with that? With me dating Alec?’
‘I wouldn’t say it if I wasn’t.’ Madzie’s expression goes a little sad. ‘You should be happy, daddy. You’re always happy when we’re hanging out with Alec.’
For the second time that night, there’s a lump stuck in Magnus’ throat. He pulls Madzie into a hug and presses a kiss to the top of her head.
‘You are wise beyond your years, sweetpea.’
‘I am the best at English and Maths,’ Madzie reminds him.
‘I know. I saw your report cart.’ Magnus lets her back down and tucks her in. ‘You brush your teeth?’
‘Yes.’ There are very few things that Magnus’ loves more than the exasperated tone his daughter uses when she says this.
He presses one more kiss to her forehead, and makes sure she’s tucked in tight. ‘Good night, sweetpea.’
‘Good night.’
Magnus turns off the light and closes her door. He hears the snick of the flashlight turning on before he’s taken a step.
‘What are you thinking about?’
Magnus blinks. He’s sitting next to Alec on the couch, wine glass in one hand, a cookie in the other. He’d been so lost in thought about what Madzie had said, that he hadn’t realized he’d sat down, or even come back to the living room. He shakes his head and throws Alec a small smile.
‘Nothing.’
Alec raises an eyebrow. ‘You haven’t said a word since you came back from saying good night to Madzie. Is everything okay?’
‘Everything is fine. It’s just…’ Magnus looks at Alec. He really looks, and what he sees is that Alec is perfectly at home here. He doesn’t behave like a guest; helping with the washing up without being asked, ordering food, pouring drinks for the two of them. He even has his own key. ‘It’s just something Madzie says.’
Alec doesn’t say anything, just waits for Magnus to continue.
‘She says that I smile more when you’re here. And that you smile whenever you look at me.’
A blush creeps up Alec’s cheeks, but he doesn’t look away. Instead, he smiles and says, ‘You give me plenty of reason to smile.’
Magnus feels the heat creeping into his own cheeks, but he doesn’t look away either. ‘She also said I should ask you to really be my boyfriend.’
‘Well, we wouldn’t have to lie to the other parents and teachers tomorrow.’
‘Is that a yes?’ Magnus’ heart hammers in his chest, full of hope.
‘We haven’t even gone on a date yet.’
‘Do you need a date?’
Alec shakes his head, leaning in, giving Magnus plenty of time to pull back. ‘No,’ he whispers into the space between them.
Magnus closes the distance. Alec tastes of sugar and wine. And it’s perfect.

I remember once sitting at a birthday dinner for a great uncle next to a relative who was at the time perhaps around 60 years old. Very nice person always but bottled up. And then he sort of breaks character and said a few not nice things that let me realize that he was still hurt because his dad did not pay enough attention to him when he was a kid and beyond. And I thought, “Dude, when are you going to get over that?” I don’t think he ever did. And when his dad died, he didn’t give him a funeral. You pass that stuff on to your kids so it’s worth fixing: if you feel slighted, they will carry that in some way. It was like a wake up call to me to get my house in order. It was all happening around the same time as I had this realization. So what works best for me is to keep holding all relationships, and myself too, to a higher standard of civility, kindness, joy and general pleasantness. I think this just works and attracts the best in everyone. So File Family under Social, and liberate yourself from a Red Plaid Ballet Shoes Christmas Lights Ballerina Pajamas T Shirt 1 of drama. To be basic about it at some point, It’s Time to Grow T.F. Up. If not now then when, right.

Stone says he modeled the scoring system in part on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index, but measuring a company’s policies about hiring Christians, tolerance of Christian views in the workplace and the like. He says that American businesses have made a lot of room for diversity — but often not for Christians. “If you have a religious objection, that has to take a back seat,” he says. But does that mean corporations that support certain rights — same-sex marriage, for instance — automatically score lower on the Faith Equality Index? Says Stone: “There is a whole list of things in Corinthians 6, of which homosexuality is just one of many not good things. If you want to bring up a biblical world view, in which people’s decisions are called into question, they don’t want anyone questioning their lives. It’s not the Red Plaid Ballet Shoes Christmas Lights Ballerina Pajamas T Shirt 1 issue; it’s a whole range of issues.” Chick-fil-A gets 63 points out of a possible 100 on the Faith Equality Index, while Starbucks, perhaps not surprisingly, scores a mere 27.5. “I think one of the strategies that looks like it is taking hold is this all-inclusive sort of approach, the idea that you are going to articulate whatever people believe, part of which is traditional Christmas.” –Americus Reed.

Maybe that’s why I just love Santa, Rudolph, Frosty the Snowman, Christmas decor, Christmas Trees and Christmas MUSIC! Cause we never really had it…though my parents always had Xmas music on as we lit Hanukkah candles and opened Hanukkah presents. Haha. We never had stockings, or left cookies out for Santa, cause he passed over our house. Blah and ugh. Yea, as kids we were a little resentful of that. sighs. I remember once as a little kid my mom took me to the mall to get my pic with Santa and when he asked me (this little blonde hair blue eyed girl) what I wanted for Xmas I looked at him and I started crying. I said I am Jewish… think I yelled at him…you don’t ever come to my house. And, he looked at me like so confused and lost…the $10 dollar an hour Santa was at a loss for words, not sure what to say to me…..I held on to his arm and I begged him to come to our house just this one time. My mom had to pull me away. He seemed relieved however, he did promise me he would come. And that year we left cookies out for him (in the shape of Jewish stars and Dreidels) and carrots on the lawn for the [[Red Plaid Ballet Shoes Christmas Lights Ballerina Pajamas T Shirt 1]]. And what do you know, he actually did come to my house…. I will say I was so so happy. sighs oh the joys of being a child.

Bob Marley One of the first shows I ever worked on. This was at the Santa Barbara Bowl. There was a downstairs dressing area and instead of using a catering service he and the Wailers brought their own people, I assume from Jamaica. They didn’t want any white people to touch the food only their crew, this was for religious reasons. I recall that they ground up coconut and sort of battered some fish with this and grilled it. Bob was much shorter and smaller than I imagined and as I am not too tall he was about my size. He had an intimidating look and I was young and for some reason felt a bit intimidated by him. Great show and boy did he and his crew/band smoke the weed. This was the one and only show I worked with Bob. Little River Band.. Nothing much to recall, seemed nice. Black Sabbath/Blue Oyster Cult-Ventura Fairgrounds. Well, I don’t like this kind of music but they were surprisingly nice and friendly. I doubt anyone will remember a band called “Honk” but they were from Laguna Beach and did the soundtrack for a surfing movie called “Five Summer Stories”. They were very laid-back, down-to-earth and a Red Plaid Ballet Shoes Christmas Lights Ballerina Pajamas T Shirt 1 to work with. They played a UCSB stadium show with The Beach Boys.

For shopping when little, Mom would give us each some money and take us to a shopping center where we would have fun shopping. When we were older, the girls and I would go together and shop. After shopping, we would go to a restaurant and have a title to eat and a coffee together. We always enjoyed being together. Mom, who loved to put on big Christmas parties for friends would have the house cleaners come in and make the house spotless. We had a very big house and though Mom didn’t mind the normal house cleaning, once a month she would have the cleaning ladies c

Holly Jolly Ficmas: Prompt - Christmas Tree + Holiday Cookies
BACK TO LUMAX! Part one is here and part two is here.
When Mrs. Wheeler knocked on the door of the Sinclairs’ house, Max wrapped her arms around herself, not because she was cold—although given the layer of snow that was falling, she was—but to steady herself as she felt a sudden burst of nerves. She didn’t know why she felt this way since there was nothing to be nervous about. She had met Lucas’ family before and they were always nice. They were perfect actually, scarily perfect. Max hadn’t thought happy nuclear families actually existed until she met the Sinclairs.
Mrs. Sinclair opened the door wearing a beautiful red dress and an antler headband. Instantly, Max felt both undressed and not festive enough.
“Karen!” Mrs. Sinclair said. “Merry Christmas!”
“Merry Christmas!” Mrs. Wheeler replied, setting Holly down.
Mrs. Sinclair commented on how big Holly had gotten, complimented Nancy on her dress, and said hello to Mike as she ushered them into the house. Then, she turned to Max and smiled. She said “Hello Max, dear,” and pulled Max into a hug.
“Hi Mrs. Sinclair,” said Max as she was released from the hug. “Thanks for inviting me.”
“Of course, dear!”
Max heard the pounded of someone running downstairs, followed the squeak of sneakers on linoleum. Mrs. Wheeler and Mrs. Sinclair went into the kitchen with Holly, and Nancy disappeared down the hall, hurrying to find Jonathan, probably. Lucas popped out from around the corner, slightly out of breath.
“Max! Hi!” he said, beaming at her.
“Hi Lucas,” Max said as she admired how handsome he looked in his green shirt.
Lucas just stood there, staring at her.
“Yeah, hi Lucas,” said Mike after Lucas failed to acknowledge him.
“Oh, hey man,” said Lucas, finally turning away from Max to give Mike a hug.
Mike rolled his eyes. “Is El here yet?”
“Jesus, is she all you think about?” Lucas asked. “It’s pathetic, man.”
“Oh, I’m pathetic?” Mike said, gesturing between Lucas and Max.
Max and Lucas glared at him.
“I’m going to go find Dustin and Will,” said Mike, shaking his head at the two of them and taking off down the hall.
Lucas walked over Max.
“Hey,” she said, tucking her hair behind her ear.
“Hey, I’m so glad you came.”
“Well, I heard there would be hot chocolate.”
“Oh, right,” Said Lucas. “We usually have that after caroling so my mom hasn’t made it yet, but I can ask her to get started on it!”
“No, Lucas, it’s fine,” said Max. “What do you usually do right now?”
“Well, we usually just hang out in the living room,” said Lucas, leading Max down the hall. “And people decorate the Christmas tree.”
“You make your guests decorate your tree for you?” Max asked, only half teasing.
“Yeah, well, people usually bring us an ornament every year when they come to the party.”
Max felt her blood run cold.
Lucas must have seen the look on her face because he said, “You don’t have to bring one! It’s usually just the parents that bring one, it’s not like Mike brought one. So, don’t feel bad. No one expected you to bring anything or I would’ve told you.”
Max nodded but she still felt something clawing in her stomach. Being around Lucas’ family was a continuous reminder of how messed up her own was. If she still lived with her dad instead of Neil, she could’ve brought her parents. They could’ve all gone to the mall and picked out an ornament to give the Sinclairs together.
Max followed Lucas to the Christmas tree which was already strung with lights. Lucas opened the box of ornaments, all of which were different. Max picked out an ornament of the Eiffel Tower with a Christmas wreath wrapped around it.
“Isn’t that one cool?” asked Lucas. “We got that one when we went to Paris two years ago.”
“You’ve been to Paris?”
“Yeah, it was cool, but kind of dirtier than I expected and so crowded… I’m not sure I like cities that big.”
Max nodded, thinking about how the only place she’d been besides California and Indiana was Mexico and only for a few day trips.
“Cookies dear?” asked Mrs. Sinclair swooping in out of nowhere with a tray of cookies.
Max surveyed the snowmen, the candy canes, the snowflakes, the dreidels, and the menorahs. They all looked like they came from a professional bakery.
“Lucas helped me make these for you,” said Mrs. Sinclair, gesturing to a group of cookies cut in the shape of palm trees. The tree trunks were decorated with brown frosting in spread in a way that mimicked the crisscrossing of the bark on the real trees. The palm frawns were a shade of bright green and had icing piped across them to look like a string of Christmas lights.
“Thank you, Mrs. Sinclair,” said Max, picking up a cookie. “They’re adorable.”
“You decorate palm trees instead of Christmas trees in California, right?” teased Lucas as Mrs. Sinclair turned to Nancy and Jonathan to offer them cookies.
Max shoved his shoulder, playfully, and crammed the cookie into her mouth before returning to the Christmas tree.
The more Max got to know Lucas, the more she liked him. But she also started to feel a little insecure. She had never met someone so genuinely kind hearted as Lucas, and looking at his mom, it was clear where he got it from. Where Lucas’ family was full of love and support, hers was full of hate and anger. She kept trying to ignore the voice in the back her head that warned her she’d never be rid of the anger inside her, that with enough time spent trying to avoid her family, Lucas would realize she wasn’t worth the trouble.
“Hey, look at this one,” said Lucas.
“Whoa, is that a Dig Dug ornament?” asked Max taking the blue and white figure from Lucas’ hand.
“Yup,” said Lucas. “And check out the back of his helmet.”
Max stopped examining the plastic red air pump and turned Dig Dug over. On the back of his helmet, written in thin black marker, read: “MADMAX: 121584” and below that “LUCAS: 103184.”
“Get it?” asked Lucas. “It’s the date of the Snow Ball and the day we met… Well kind of, I mean we stalked you on the 30th, but Halloween was the first time we spoke, so I went with that.”
Just like that, she felt all of her insecurities fade. She felt so happy knowing that Lucas thought Mad Max was worthy of the Sinclairs’ Christmas tree. Max pressed a kiss to Lucas’ cheek without even thinking of how they were surrounded by their friends and family. Thankfully, no one seemed to notice. Lucas smiled just as brightly as when they kissed on the dancefloor.
Max hung the Dig Dug ornament on the best branch she could find and said, “This is, like, totally tubular, Lucas.”

25 Top Hotel Holiday Events
Toast the season from the Krug Carnotzet.
While the holidays will be different this year, they can still be jolly. Hotels have come up with a bevy of imaginative and festive activities, including video chats with Santa, private sleigh rides, jingle bell jogs and to-go kits with everything from gingerbread to s’mores.
Whether you plan to stay in or venture out on a staycation, these Forbes Travel Guide-approved hotel activities will fill your holiday with good cheer:
Pair Cheese and Champagne
Cozy up in The Dolder Grand’s Krug Carnotzet, a barrel-shaped pop-up private dining space on the terrace of the Zurich hotel’s Saltz restaurant. Then sip exquisite champagne and warm up with rich, gooey fondue while gazing out at the city.
Zoom with Santa Claus. Credit:
Virtually Visit with Santa
Since social distancing prevents kids from sitting on old St. Nick’s lap, The Houstonian Hotel, Club and Spa set up a video chat with Santa in its Houston ballroom (Dec. 12). The exchange is captured as a video keepsake for parents.
Decorate these oversized houses.
Go Big with Gingerbread
Build a gingerbread village at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner. Decorate four massive gingerbread houses with icing and sweets while sipping hot chocolate and watching a private screening of your favorite holiday flick in the D.C. hotel’s new Ambassador Movie Theatre Room.
Get ski tips from an Olympian.
Ski with an Olympian
Madeline Hotel and Residences, Auberge Resorts Collection will put you on the slopes with Olympic skier Gus Kenworthy for an hour (Dec. 23-24). Afterward, stop by the Telluride hotel’s new Ski Recovery Lounge, which features Kenworthy’s favorite recovery rituals (like Hyperice and Normatec therapies) and his own cool-down playlist.
Savor more dining options in Deer Valley.
Dine in a Luxe Yurt
On Dec. 21, The St. Regis Deer Valley will debut Yurt Village, three yurts with mahogany latticework, plexiglass stargazing domes, windows overlooking the Wasatch Range and radiant heat. The luxe yurts, which seat eight, will serve lunch, après-ski and dinner.
Sip Fine Wine
The pandemic isn’t stopping the nation’s longest-running food and wine fest. Boston Harbor Hotel’s Boston Wine Festival (January-March) will offer virtual wine dinners Thursdays, and socially distant wine dinners Fridays and Saturdays spotlighting top wine and winemakers from around the world.
Get festive at Chatham Bars Inn.
Shake Up Holiday Libations
Step up your holiday entertaining with the help of Adam Couto, Chatham Bars Inn’s master mixologist. You’ll learn how to make eggnog and holiday grog during hands-on classes in the Cape Cod hotel’s new STARS Mixology Lounge throughout December.
Take a Jingle Jog
Although a canine isn’t required for Montage Palmetto Bluff’s Dec. 24 Jingle Bell Dog Jog 5K, it’s certainly more fun to have one (the South Carolina hotel will provide the bells). After the run, you’ll feel less guilty about indulging in Montage’s Cookie Pop Up Shop.
Send mail to Santa.
Write Letters to Santa
Children checking into Lotte New York Palace or The Towers will receive a postcard to write to Santa and drop into a special onsite mailbox. Later, a personalized response from Santa Claus will magically appear in their rooms.
Ride to Santa’s Workshop
Climb aboard a wagon to visit Santa’s workshop at Salamander Resort & Spa in Middleburg, Virginia, for a socially distanced photo op. After kids share their wishes, they’ll do a festive craft and then enjoy s’mores and hot cocoa at the fire pits.
Explore the terrain by snowshoe.
Embark on a Snowshoe Adventure
Starting in January, trek through the tranquil mountainside during a sunset snowshoe outing courtesy of The Lodge at Blue Sky, Auberge Resorts Collection in Park City. The final destination is a yurt, where mulled wine and fondue will warm you up.
Feed on Festive Flapjacks
Pendry San Diego adapted its annual Pancakes and Pajamas Brunch as a to-go kit, with cooked classic and red velvet pancakes, colorful toppings and a pair of children’s holiday pajamas from P.J. Salvage. Pre-order a kit here and pick it up Dec. 19 at Provisional Kitchen.
Do some yoga in the snow.
Do Some Snowga
Embrace Edgewood Tahoe’s wintry landscape with snowga in the Sierras. Take in the fresh mountain air and relax your mind as instructors take you through poses in an outdoor yoga experience on a patch of beachfront overlooking Lake Tahoe’s icy waters.
Partake in Après-Beach
Snowy destinations don’t have the corner on après experiences. The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach puts a Miami spin on it with Après Beach, a post-beach ritual with Veuve Clicquot and gourmet bites on the Starr Bar overlooking the Atlantic.
Dine in your own bubble.
Stay at a Hotel on Ice
Four Seasons Hotel Washington, D.C. transformed to a “Hotel on Ice,” with heated pop-up ice bubble domes on the patio of Bourbon Steak featuring spirits and champagnes by Moët Hennessy. Meanwhile, kids camp out in ice castles set up in their rooms.
Have a Fun DIY Holiday
Celebrate the season with Terranea Resort’s to-go activity kits. The Kids Club Family Gratitude Boxes is packed with arts and crafts, games, gratitude conversation cards and more. Or opt for the L.A. hotel’s other DIY kits with gingerbread houses, mandala painting, stargazing and s’mores to enjoy around one of the 228 onsite fireplaces.
Meet the man in red in the Santa Suite.
See Santa on the Beach
St. Nick is stopping in at Fairmont Mayakoba, Riviera Maya to visit with little ones in his own Santa Suite, a merry beachside dome. It’s complimentary to chat and take photos with the jolly old elf, but the hotel is collecting donations to aid the local community.
Throw a private Hanukkah celebration
Commemorate the Festival of Lights from the comfort of your accommodations at Ojai Valley Inn. The hotel will deliver a Hanukkah kit with an electric menorah, dreidels and chocolate gelt coins to kickstart your in-room holiday festivities.
Santa ditched the reindeer for a helicopter this year.
Celebrate Christmas Beachside
Forget white Christmases. Beachfront Grand Velas Los Cabos will mark Dec. 25 with Santa swooping in via helicopter, along with sandcastle competitions, cooking classes, sand bikes, an aromatherapy Spa Atelier workshop and private stargazing.
Enjoy a Private Concert
Commodore Perry Estate, Auberge Resorts Collection will grant concertgoers’ Christmas wish with a one-of-a-kind private experience in Austin’s iconic Paramount Theatre. Have a three-course dinner, cocktail experience and theater tour, followed by a screening of a vintage holiday movie or a musical performance.
Get into the holiday spirit in Houston.
Spend Time with Santa
At The Post Oak Hotel at Uptown Houston’s Holiday Workshop (Dec. 12-13), kids can decorate gingerbread houses, listen to carolers, have story time with Santa and nosh on light holiday bites while mom and dad hit the mimosa bar.
The hotel will send you out on a sleigh.
Go Sleigh Riding
Gallivant around Aspen in a horse-drawn carriage with a historian to explore the mining town and learn about its past. Hotel Jerome, Auberge Resorts Collection partnered with the Aspen Historical Society for the private sleigh rides.

After day on the slopes and refueling at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe’s sumptuous après-ski spread with Moët & Chandon, shrimp cocktail, crab and caviar, revive yourself at the spa with a Ponderosa Pine Winter Body Scrub. Pine bark treats sore muscles, and a creamy exfoliation with local pine salve soothes dry skin.

How to Have a Super-Traditional Hanukkah That Is in NO Way Like Christmas
Night 1: Time for a latke and jelly donut feast! To add a bit of ambiance, string twinkle lights around your living room. Teach your kids that each light represents a night that the oil miraculously lasted, plus a bunch of other nights.
Night 2: The story about the oil really seemed to sink in! To keep the teachable moments going, dig out your novelty dreidel socks. Gamely try to explain the origins of the game, but find yourself on a tangent about the etymology of the word “Maccabee.” To bring everyone back, hang the socks by the mantleplace and stuff them with gelt, a traditional gift for children, and definitely not something your kids will later use to barter their way out of Hebrew school.
Night 3: Have the kids make dreidel cookies. It’s so hard to shape the bottom part. Is it weird that they all look like crosses? Maybe if you pipe icing on them to look like Hebrew letters? Which weirdly are also coming out looking like crosses.
Night 4: Since you forgot to clean the wax out of your menorah last year, just buy eight scented votive candles and position them around a small wreath you rescued from your neighbor’s trash. Marvel at the flickering lights while inhaling the aroma of sugarplum, which reminds you of the sufganiyot you were supposed to pick up from Zabars on the way home.
Night 5: Purchase a small holly bush from Stew Leonard’s in your kids’ names. Display your new “Hanukkah Bush” in the living room. Put a Star of David on top. Ta-da!
Night 6: The kids complained that the Hanukkah Bush is too small. Race around your backyard trying to find something larger–oh look! It’s the evergreen that’s been growing outside your den for the past three decades. Hack it down, prop it up in your bay window, and emblazon it with enough twinkling Hanukkah miracles that it glows radioactively. It is the Festival of Lights, after all.
Night 7: Realize you haven’t had a chance to give the kids their Hanukkah gifts yet. Lay them all out under the decked-out Hanukkah Tree so they’ll see it when they wake up. Throw a few logs on the fire, and leave out a plate of dreidel/cross cookies and milk in case someone gets the midnight munchies.
Night 8: Whew, this has been quite the marathon, considering Hanukkah’s a pretty minor holiday! To conclude the festivities, do you wake the kids from their post-gift-opening slumber to go traipsing around the neighborhood singing the Dreidel Song on loop? Or let them play with their new toys while you steal off to quaff some mulled Manischewitz? Consider WWJMD: What Would Judah Maccabee Do?

Space Christmas™
look we know its july we just have a lot of feelings ok
ok so everyone’s always talking about how much Lance misses his big family and whatnot, but how would that carry across to a holiday like Christmas?
like, forget about missing just his siblings and parents what about the massive extended family? also (we’re not trying to shove beliefs onto a character or upset anyone in general please don’t yell at me) A LOT of people are religious and quite a few more practice exclusively on holidays like Christmas or Easter.
plus, even if Lance wasn’t strictly religious there’s something about being raised in a family that is that ingrains bits and pieces of those things into you just as a byproduct of being raised that way.
either way you can’t tell me that Lance’s family didn’t celebrate Christmas and since he has younger siblings it would still be a big deal since they would still believe in Santa.
so it gets to the point that Lance is spending the nighttimes heartbroken thinking about the presents he had planned for his little siblings that he won’t be able to give them this year because he’s an amazing sibling like that, or wishing for just one day, THIS day, that he could be back with his family, because anyone who has gone from spending Christmas with a big family to spending it almost alone know that it’s one of the loneliest feelings on the world.
Pidge’s family is kind of a mixed situation
like her dad’s jewish so they just decided as a family to celebrate both Christmas and Hannukah
the holidays weren’t really at the front of Pidge’s mind when the ‘winter months’ rolled around
because FIRST OF ALL it looked NOTHING like winter normally did (bc space),
and anyway for the past couple years she and her mother had grown apart and holidays were hardly the first thing anyone would think of when a family falls apart like that,
but she’s the one that notices Lance disappearing more and stumbles upon him crying twice as many times as she normally would, so she figures something’s up.
it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that they have reached what would be on Earth the month of December and to link that a little further to Christmas.
now Pidge understands a lot, but humans have never been her strongest suit so she does what any reasonable person would do and goes to Hunk and lets him take the wheel on what to do. Pidge does what she can to help (she’s probs the one that makes the cool decorations)
she misses her small, intimate family Christmases and it was trying to get that family back that brought her here in the first place, but along the way the team has kinda become her family too so why not embrace that for a little while?
Pidge makes a metal tree and everyone helps to decorate it
Lance goes nuts
people’s thing’s just start going missing and they end up on the tree
everyone knows it's Lance and it’s mildly inconvenient but they can’t bring themselves to say anything bc he just looks so happy
they start voluntarily putting their things on the tree
Keith puts fingerless gloves on it. Lance almost cries laughing
Shiro puts his fucking arm at the top of the tree bc he thinks he’s funny
“Shiro, no you need that what the hell”
“I just wanted to lend a hand, Keith”
Pidge teaches them all about Hanukkah too, and the Alteans love the dreidel
Coran is really hung up on the menorah thing
“But if there was only enough for 1 day, how did it last 8?”
“I don’t know, that’s why they call it a miracle”
“Fascinating”
Keith doesn’t really get this Christmas thing.
like obviously he knows what Christmas is, he’s from Texas of course he does, but he’s not quite sure how to celebrate this.
after Pidge tells Hunk about Lance’s odd behavior Hunk arranges a paladin (and confused Altean) meeting where everyone decides to try this “Christmas in Space” thing out, but Keith is kinda left stranded on what to do.
he wants to help, in the way that you can’t help when you’re maybe, hopelessly in love with someone and would do anything to make them happier, it’s just, holidays were never a part of his childhood and what if he does it wrong?
one thing Keith’s sure is part of this is gift-giving so one day during a battle he picks up a Galra shooter and tosses it to an unarmed Lance with an offhanded “Merry Christmas.”
AND LANCE JUST LIKE FREEZES FOR A SECOND AND THEN JUST GIVES KEITH THE BIGGEST SMILE AND KEITH IS LIKE BLINDED
so he just keeps giving Lance things?
like he sees a cool rock while on a mission and just puts it in his pocket
a couple of days later he stumbles upon a gorgeous blue gem-type thing on some planet and does the same thing bc it reminds him of Lance’s eyes.
and he’ll just like slide the gift over to Lance in the middle of meals or just leave it in front of his door
and Lance always just grins like an idiot bc Keith is being nice to him and he just feels lighter
soon all of the paladins start incorporating casual Christmas gift-giving into their daily lives and as Lance’s mood starts to brighten more day by day Keith can’t help but be a lil proud that he could be the start of someone’s happiness
and everyone starts giving each other gifts and Keith is just really proud bc he started this and he just loves these guys so much and is this what a family is like bc he gets it now
one day Keith’s in Lance’s room (who knows why lmao) and he just sees all of the stuff he’s given Lance placed a little bit away from the other’s gifts and he just smiles a lil to himself
(sorry we’re klance trash)
Hunk’s a good best friend.
he’s also a bit of a people-watcher so when Pidge comes to him with her research* (*stalking) on Lance and the current month on Earth his own thoughts on the matter are confirmed and he jumps straight to planning Space Christmas™.
a secret meeting is arranged promptly to inform the other paladins/alteans of what’s going on (a long explanation of earth customs is required)
then he and coran get ingredients for the Altean equivalent of cookies and just go to work
Pidge and Lance bend cookie cutters out of scrap metal and use those and Keith just cuts out shapes with his knife bc of course he would
cuz if they’re doing Christmas, then they’re doing it right. Hunk’s typical holidays involve so much food, especially as gifts
large family dinners become a mandatory thing, every time getting more elaborate and delicious.
Hunk always makes people share about their day because it’s what his family always did
“So Pidge, how was your day?”
“Hunk, I was with you all day, we had the same day.”
“But how was it?”
when Christmas would roll around Hunk’s younger siblings presented him with small and, to the outsider's eye, meaningless gifts so when he starts getting handed shiny rocks, or little people made of twigs, or one time a small robot that did nothing but blast screamo he can’t help but be reminded of his family too
Shiro had quite honestly forgotten that holidays were such a big deal.
in his defense a lot had happened and they just had slipped his mind.
he’s not opposed to the idea when Hunk brings it up, but a week later he’s fully invested in the holidays and has crocheted several sweaters, because he looks fantastic in red, ok.
growing up with a single parent and a much younger sibling has hardwired into his brain the need to make every holiday as big of a deal as possible and he starts spending late nights decorating various parts of the castle to make this the most magical experience possible because now he had 4 little sibling to share this with and also he needs to and it gives him peace of mind when his nightmares are too intense to sleep through.
every opportunity he gets he spends squirrelling away presents for the 25th or furiously crocheting sweaters for everyone else because what’s Christmas without the ugliest sweaters you’ve ever seen?
ok quick side note but we promise this is relevant: so we all know about the headcanon that Lance knits but consider this: Shiro crochets
and Lance like will not stop giving him shit about ‘wow only one needle? I have two so…’
and Shiro’s a good sport so he just kind of plays along bc wow Lance has started another dumb rivalry who would have guessed
but then Shiro crochets him this blue hat with lion ears on it and Lance can’t really bring himself to keep the the ‘rivalry’ going
(he wears the hat everywhere)
Shiro and Lance team up to make the team stockings and Shiro even makes tiny ones for the mice
the Alteans don’t know what’s going on
like obviously they notice that there’s something off about the paladins, so when Hunk calls his meeting about Lance, they’re kind of like ???? bc they noticed these things with everyone but if they want to pretend that it’s just about Lance then okay
learning about Christmas is….. interesting to say the least
“So you’re telling me that the people of earth tell their children about a reverse thief dressed in red that breaks into everyone’s home?”
“I mean I wouldn’t say it like that”
“Well then how WOULD you say it”
“He just visits everyone to give them gifts-”
“I’ll prepare the castle’s defenses for an intruder immediately!”
“No that’s really not necessary”
They get it eventually.
Allura’s really into the ‘Santa’s reindeer’ thing (something about them reminding her of an altean animal) so she works with pidge to make little reindeer antlers for the mice and also ENORMOUS ONES for the lions
((Keith is FURIOUS (and a little confused) when he sees the large red ball attached to red’s nose but Lance is just laughing and smiling so he guesses it's okay))
@ dreamworks just give us the space fam doing space things for the holidays. just a christmas episode that’s all we’re asking for
Also we hope y’all love long posts cuz this bitch took forever and we’re very proud and feel free to add your own and make it EVEN LONGER
