And the discord is OPEN, and artist creation has begun! What has begun, you ask? MCYTBLR Aufest is a Reverse Big Bang, where artists have a month to make an art piece, and then writers have two months to make a fic (5k minimum) inspired by the art. And then we all post all at once, in a big BANG of content.

Open to all of MCYTBLR, whether your smp is still airing or has been done for a while. Dedicated ctommy artist? Come, join us! Really into vitalasubzam? You are welcome! I think some people don’t realize homestuck is a story about storytelling.

I was thinking about people insisting the Epilogues, hs^2, or Beyond Canon aren’t canon. And like. Yeah, that’s the point.

What does it mean to be canon anyway? Stories that get tied up in neat little bows are hard to expand upon. What happens after the happily ever after?

You can take it the direction of mundane day to day fluff (candy) or send them on another world shattering adventure (meat) but neither one is really real because… it’s a story. Homestuck was never really real. They’re both real. None of them are real.

This is all so clearly spelled out in the post canon material that I’m forced to assume they just. Have not engaged in it and / or ignore it on principle.

hey guys!! im currently brainstorming some event ideas, but me and my friends are torn, so this is the most informal of interest checks!! more info about each event idea will be below the cut. theyre all mcyt-specifc, though some may be specific to certain smps, so keep that in mind!

(they may become more multi-fandom in the future, we just wanna keep things somewhat small for now! we have some ideas for zines and zine-adjacent projects, but those will have their own interest checks once we get a handle on other events!)

MAP

-> this is the most straight-forward idea -- a MAP (multi-animator project)!! mods would find songs we enjoy, and let our animators vote! we would not require specifically animatic; animatics and stills would be fine! this would either be a larger tribute to multiple servers, OR it would be specific to one (probably QSMP, sorry non-QSMP enjoyers!)

Curse Event

-> this could go with either individuals or teams, depending on what is most popular! one person/team would have a "curse" (a specific phrase, trope, theme, idea, or other element present in their work), which they would spread to others by "attacking" them, a la Artfight. it would be almost murder mystery-esque!

Saw Trap Event

-> our silliest idea so far. creators are given a handicap of some sort, then have to create using that handicap by a deadline. if their work is not complete, or does not have the handicap, then they get an additional handicap for the next round! completing rounds removes handicaps, and it would be like a multi-round exchange!

Yandere Event

-> each participant is given one individual as their "interest". you are now parasocially attached to this person, and want to create for them while "attacking" everyone around them (similar to the curse event), without getting caught! you dont want anyone to know who your interest is, so try to keep it anonymous!

Escape Room

-> probably a team event!! each team would follow "clues" and have to create for each clue. once your clue has been solved and your creation is complete, you move on to the next clue. once you solve all the clues and create all the pieces, you escape! this could either be a different team member creating something each round (with input from team members), or everyone working collaboratively on one piece! an art piece with one person doing sketching, another lining, another coloring, another rendering; a webweave where half the teams finds elements and puts them together, and the other half writes or draws new elements; a fic with multiple authors. the world is your oyster!

The Kitsunes are finally done! Well, excluding the mortal forms I’m yet to draw

Dream’s the people person, he’s the caregiver for the sanctuary and handles basically anything that requires socializing. He’s also the one who organizes parties to go out into the mortal towns and earn money.

Nightmare’s the financial guy, he’s smart with money and makes sure everything is running smoothly in the sidelines. He’s also a massive hermit who never goes outside unless Dream drags him by the scruff to get vitamin D.
