Gentle, passive and intelligent.

Watches over villager's dreams and takes out their negativity or night terrors.

Was entitled as the new Elder Guardian of The Tree after the villagers removed Dreamless from the position due to the news that spread.

DREAMLESS AU

Sorry just have to ramble this concept out of my brain lol XDD

Okay, as I was staring off into space (lol), my mind suddenly came up with an alternate concept for a dreamtale au XD

The story starts off similar to the original—in the village, before the tree was destroyed.

In this AU, Dream is the older brother and is much more serious and strict yet still holds gentleness in his ways while Nightmare becomes the opposite. He is much more kinder and passive compared to his OG counterpart.

However, Dream's powers are slowly fading making him more emotionless and out of character yet he secretly hides this from the public in order to keep his guardian status. It is not yet known what or why this is happening.

As for Nightmare, being the younger one, he is worried for his brother and secretly continues to seek a cure for him despite Dream telling him to mind his own job instead.

Dream goes by 'Dreamless' as Nightmare goes by 'Nightlight'

Roles:

Dreamless is the guardian of the sun and positivity. Provides warmth and peaceful daydreams during the day. Can also send out gentle warm breeze and light rain showers to help the villagers with their crops and harvest. Most respected by the people since he is the elder guardian and is believed to be the more powerful of the two.

Nightlight as the guardian of the Moon and negativity. Is in-charge of giving peaceful dreams and sleep during the night. Unlike OG Nightmare, Nightlight uses his powers to take out the negativity from people's night terrors to give them a peaceful sleep. He also helps guide lost travelers in the night if ever he spots one during his shift.

Well that's all I've came up for now. Sheesh I hope I didn't ramble too much lol. Anyways, glad to finally be able to get that out of my mind lmao (it's been plaguing my thoughts for a while ngl XDD)

Hope you all liked the concept ^_^ ....(maybe I'll post more about this au soon-ish but I'll still be working on my PromisedTale AU comic tho X3)

As Dreamless continues to lose his powers little by little, he becomes a bit more emotionless and starts acting differently from the character that he should be.

He becomes wreckless, starts causing trouble and getting into fights with the village gangs more often.

He also tends to be chaotic and less empathetic from his former self (even a bit more sassy with his attitude)

Nightlight fears that his brother is slowly straying away from their guardian responsibilities and ethics.

....

One time, the village gangs went to the tree to attack it and accidentally hit Nightlight.

It was the first time Nightlight saw the fierce rage that came off from his brother as Dreamless lashed back at their attackers and threatened them to never dare take a step near the tree or his brother ever again..

As the news about Dreamless spread, the village decided to take him out of his duties and crown Nightlight as the new Elder Guardian.

Filled with envy, one night, Dreamless stole one dark apple from the tree and fled away from the village. He then managed to stumble into a mysterious rift and fell into the multiverse. Here, he discovers and learns about the different AUs of the multiverse. Miraculously, he still has some powers left and with the help of the dark apple, he is able to learn a few new abilities that'd help him travel across multiverses.

The rest of his story will continue to unfold from here.

Unbeknownst to Dreamless, Nightlight had heard of the news about his missing brother, with the help of a certain friend, and decided to enter the multiverse as well in order to find and bring him back.

WEAPONS/ABILITIES:

Can shapeshift his weapon into anything.

Favorite weapon type is a golden bat with a crossed-out star design.

Has a taste for chaos and trouble making.

For some reasons unknown, is unaffected by the dark apple and negativity.

Unable to sense positivity nor negativity anymore.

Can still get hurt from physical attacks.

He can change his weapon to a bow like og dream but can only summon arrows that deal physical damage unlike og dream's positivity in-fused arrows.

Gets random buffs from the dark apple sometimes but tbh he still doesn't know how to use or how the dark apple works.

He'll probably figure it out soon so for now it's just random.
