FAQ:

Which ships are eligible?

Any ship that would fall under the M/F category, such as Life Series Joel/Lizzie, are eligible for nominations. Any ship that would fall under the Other category, such as Dream SMP's Foolish/Eret or Life Series Lizzie/Cleo are also eligible.

Polyamory ships are allowed. Platonic ships are allowed. QPRs are allowed. Crossover ships and genderbends are allowed.

F/F ships such as Life series Lizzie/Pearl or M/M ships such as Empires SMP Scott/fWhip are not eligible for this exchange unless in genderbend form.

How many ships can I sign up for?

The minimum request is three relationships in any given fandom. You may request up to 10 different fandoms with 20 relationships each (so, 200 requests). Likewise, the maximum offers you can make are 10 fandoms with 20 relationships each (so, 200 offers).

How do I sign up or nominate a tag?

Tag nominations and sign ups will happen on Ao3. Guides for both tag nominations and sign ups are incoming!

How do I nominate a genderbend?

To nominate a genderbend of a ship you want, you must specify the iteration of the ship you want with a marker. For example, if I wanted to nominate genderbend Scott/Jimmy from Empires Season 1, I'd use:

Do I need an Ao3 account to participate?

Matching will be done through Ao3, so you must have an account to sign up! Posting will be done on Tumblr.

Do I need to create for every ship/fandom in my recipient's list?

No, you only need to create for one relationship of one fandom from your recipient's list.

Do I need to include every one of my recipient's likes?

No. Your recipient is likely to offer a list of possibilities varying from the simple to the specific (for example: "Fluff" and "Regency aus" and "Themes of alienation and the forbidden and characters navigating that"). Think of likes lists as an array of coloring pencils, and pick out what would best suit your piece!

Is platonic content allowed?

Yes, platonic content is allowed. Relationships must follow the same eligibility guidelines listed above, but marked with & instead of /.

Is RPF allowed?

Yes, RPF is allowed, and will be requested/offered for under the "Video Blogging RPF" tag. The MCYT creators must be over 18 and famous in their own right. Mods reserve the right to reject tags they feel to be in bad taste.

Is NSFW allowed?

NSFW is allowed. NSFW must be opted into. If your recipient does not opt into E-rated works, you cannot deliever an E-rated fic. If you are a minor, you cannot write nor receive an E-rated fic.

Delivering unrequested NSFW or requesting NSFW as a minor will result in a ban from future iterations of this event.

Is dark content allowed?

Yes. Dark content is allowed as long as it does not violate your recipient's DNW.

Are major archive warnings allowed?

Yes. Every major archive warning except Underage Sex is allowed. However, major archive warnings must be opted into by your recipient, and must be tagged appropriately at the moment of posting.

Delivering unrequested major archive warnings will result in a ban from future iterations of this event.

Are adult/minor relationships allowed?

For ease of moderation, adult/minor ships will not be allowed. A list of characters considered to be minors (under 18, these characters can only be shipped romantically with other minors) and extremely underage (15 and under, these characters can only be part of & ships) will be provided on Discord.

Ageing up underage characters to turn an adult/minor ship into adult/adult will not be allowed.

What is a DNW?

A Do Not Want list (DNW) is a list of items provided by a user of the things they do not want to see in their gifts. This list must be followed by their gifter, and failure to follow it may result in a ban from the event.

DNWs can be as specific as you want. However, DNWs must be phrased politely (YES: "No alcohol". NO: "No alcohol of any kind ugh that's disgusting"), must be precise (NO: "No dark content", YES: "No onscreen graphic violence") and must be practical/feasible (do not box in your gifter to a specific idea, so YES: "No space aus or aus that require characters to be aged down, such as Hunger Games", NO: "No au that doesn't feature the characters as harried holiday workers in a bakery on the year 2017").

DNW Exceptions (Ex: "No royalty aus (unless for Empires characters)") are allowed, and your DNW does not need to be the same across all fandom requests (for example: under Empires SMP you can list "DNW: Onscreen torture" but leave it out of your Lifesteal SMP requests).

Your DNW must be written in full in the Ao3 sign up box. Any elements of a DNW added to a separate source (Dear Gifter letters, personal websites) will not be enforced.

Can I write/draw/create more than the minimum?

Yes, you can create as much as you want for your recipient, provided it is all finished and posted in full by March 13th.

I have someone I do not want to match with. What do I do?

If you, for any reason, do not want to match with a specific user(s), you may send a Do Not Match request to the mods. The mods will then, on our end, make sure you are not match either to make or receive a gift from said user.

Do Not Match requests can be made for any reason, and you don't need to tell us what it is!

If you need more time to finish your gift, you may contact a mod, and we can work out an extension of up to four days. Extensions will go no longer than March 17th, in case a pinch hitter needs to step in.

Some notes:

No new tags that I saw this month, though as always I could have missed something! As you can see, we already have quite the assortment of canonized tags.

Fics are still primarily in english, but we have three exceptions with significant spanish fics. Karmaland (740 of 842 are in spanish, from 731 last month), Tortillaland (110 of 115 are in spanish, the same as last month), and QSMP (752 of 7,375 are in spanish, from 668 last month.)

QSMP also shows 39 fics in French, up from 30 last month, and 405 in Brasilian Portugese, up from 375 last month. While I did not check every language this month, I checked on the languages I knew had a fic in QSMP and we see 1 fic in ASL (probably a misclick as it appears to be in english), 1 fic in Bahasa Malaysia, 1 fic in German, 1 fic in Esperanto, 1 fic in Filipino, 5 works in European Portugese, 5 fics in Русский (Russian), 1 fic in Suomi (Finnish), 1 fic in Tiếng Việt (Vietnamese), and 3 fics in 中文-普通话 國語 (Mandarin Chinese, I believe), all the same as last month. New is two fics in Polski (Polish), one fic in Svenska (Swedish), and one fic in Dansk (Danish).

In the small and micro fandoms (under 200 fics), some of the most active small fandoms have grown out of this category so we only saw small amounts of growth. The standout fandoms all saw an increase of 6 works, and that was a tie between Content SMP, New Life SMP, and Witchcraft SMP. Note that Content SMP was coming up from only 24 works, so 6 new works is an increase of 25% of the fandom, truly impressive.

In the midsize fandoms (200-1000), Fable SMP has broken that 1000-fic mark and can no longer qualify for our standout fandom! Instead, our most active fandom was Evolution SMP, with 33 new works, followed by Mystreet with 20 fics and Minecraft: Story Mode with 24 fics. Mystreet and Story Mode are both new fandoms so it's unclear whether that's people retagging old work or true new fics.

For the post-canon big fandoms: Empires went up by 178 works, singificantly more than last month's 117, but not beating the previous month's 240, and Dream SMP's increase of 918 beat the previous month's 767, but is still only the second time I've seen this fandom fall under a thousand works plus a month. Hermitcraft is between seasons right now, but still experienced that holiday exchange boost, as its increase of 784 beat both last month's 574 and the previous month's 651. For active fandoms, traffic series posted a staggering 831 fics, which is its highest ever number, beating April 2023's 671 fics. QSMP saw 865 fics, which is part of a three month decline (894 last month, 913 the month before), but still posting numbers that are only exceeded by DSMP.

Overall, the number of fics posted under Video Blogging-RPF (the umbrella fandom that contains all MCYT) is 4,223 fics, a significant increase from last month's 3,489, and the previous month's 4,035, but still exceeded by October's record 4,702. Notably, it's higher than the summer numbers and almost exactly the same as the number we saw last January, 4,235 new works.

so i saw this geminitay fanart by @aresonist today and might have gotten a little inspired to write a fic about it. especially because we have another life series premiering today and i'm very excited about it. so have some silly little gempearl nightmare angst (and op i hope you don't mind me using your art as inspiration!)

The sculk is hungry, and it comes with death.

Gem has never seen so much corruption in one place. It spreads as far as her eye can see until it trails off into darkness and inky black skies. Six games’ worth of loss is contained here. Three lives lost for every player, over and over. Death after death, kill after kill.

Some of the destruction is hers. She doesn’t want to know how much.

She blinks, breathes, and takes a step forward. Worldwalkers know how to navigate dreams, and Gem is no exception. She has endless control over the world inside her mind. She can make maps of every construction and wake herself up from the worst nightmares. It would take a true horror to keep her captive. Still, though, her dreamscapes are usually complicated. This is just… sculk. So much sculk. Gem can’t help but feel a sense of morbid curiosity about it.

Another step, then another. Nothing changes.

“Hello?” Gem calls. “Anybody home?”

There’s no response. It occurs to Gem that yelling in a field of sculk is a surefire way to summon a warden. She claps a hand over her mouth to silence herself, then slowly removes it. If something does try to kill her, she can just wake up. No harm done, right? Just a little insomnia. “Hello? What’s going on here?”

Silence. Complete silence.

“I know something’s hiding! You can just come out and get me, you know. I’m not scared of you!”

Come to think of it, there’s not a single sculk shrieker in the field at all. There’s not even a sensor. It’s all just empty space. Remnants of death with nothing to show for it.

Is this how winners feel?

Gem shakes her head to clear the thought. Worldwalkers know dreams better than anyone. This must be some weird half-memory from exploring Caves and Cliffs for the first time. Or maybe some unresolved panic from the escape world between Hermitcraft Seasons 8 and 9. That was pretty empty, right? She was wrong about the whole six-games’-worth-of-death thing at the beginning. This has nothing to do with the Life Series. This has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the next game is set to start tomorrow.

Gem blinks. She breathes. She takes another step.

“This is fine. I’m fine. I’m so fine. It’s just a dream. I know how to deal with this. I’m completely–”

There’s a sudden tug on her left foot. She looks down to find it completely buried in sculk.

“Do you see that button right there?” she giggles to Scar. “Can you press it?”

Gem feels her breath catch in her lungs for a moment. “Nope. Absolutely not.” She wrenches her foot upwards, just barely managing to pull it free. “Not funny.”

Another step, then another, then–

“No!” Bdubs yells from below her, with zombies closing in. “It’s over for me…”

Her foot is buried deeper now. Try as she might, she can’t move it anymore. “Hey, no, stop it,” she admonishes the corruption. “Let go.”

“How did Pearl blow up? Wait, did–”

Gem grabs her boot with both hands and pulls. The sculk refuses to give. “Let go of me,” she snaps louder. Why does her voice sound so anxious? She isn’t afraid. This is her dreamscape, after all. “That one wasn’t meant to happen.”

“Somebody rigged that for us,” she grins, elbowing Scar. “Thank goodness, though. That worked out so well.”

Her right foot is trapped now, too. There’s no way her dreamself is getting out of this one. “Okay, okay, I get it. The infection was deadly. I know what I did. You can stop now.”

“Wow, maybe it actually is an apocalypse!”

“Yeah, that’s enough of that.” Gem envisions a sunrise-orange light in front of her. It spreads, brightening across her whole field of vision. This is the easiest trick in the book for her – she’s done it practically since birth, before any of the memory tricks or lucid dreaming, even before her full powers awakened. “I’m getting out of here.”

She swings her sword almost lazily, and it slashes across Joel’s chest. He’s weakened from the zombie attacks – he’s dead before he hits the ground.

The light flickers out in a puff of smoke.

“What?” Gem’s heart slams against her ribs. She desperately kicks and twists her feet within their sculk prison, but all it does is bury her deeper. “No. That’s not supposed to happen. That never happens.”

Only the most awful of nightmares can keep a worldwalker asleep. Gem isn’t being chased or stalked. Nothing is trying to kill her. It’s just her and her memories in a field of sculk. It’s fine. It’s fine. Waking up should be effortless. She can’t be trapped.

“Scar just murdered me!”

Gem makes one more desperate attempt at tearing her feet free. The force knocks her off balance, and she falls backwards to the ground. Sculk crawls across her body instantly.

“No.” Gem struggles against the dreamscape, but it only grows stronger. “No, stop! Let go of me! It was just a game! It’s over now! Let go!”

“I don’t want to kill her! Pearl, I don’t want to kill you!”

She tries to summon another sunrise light, but it fizzles out in front of her. Both her arms are pinned down. It won’t be long until she’s buried completely. “Stop! Let me go!”

“No, Gem, stop it!” Pearl shrieks. Blood drips from the cuts along her arms. She’s down to two hearts, then half a heart, and then…

Gem kicks and struggles against the sculk. Nothing she does is any use. She can’t move. She can hardly breathe. All the death she’s caused is coming back to eat her alive, and no matter how hard she tries, she can’t escape it.

“Gem,” a familiar voice murmurs from somewhere outside the dreamscape. “Are you alright?”

“Let go!” Gem claws at the corruption, pleading with her subconscious in a last-ditch attempt at escape. She can’t be here. I killed her. I killed her so many times. Her death is written into half this stuff. I did this. It’s my fault. I can’t bring her here.

A soft touch grabs gently at her arms and tugs at her body. “Gem, stop. You’re thrashing around. It’s alright. You’re okay. You’re safe.”

“No, stop!” Gem screams, struggling harder against her restraints. “It’s not okay! We can’t go back!”

“Come on, Scar,” Pearl sobs, trying not to look at the dying form of her partner. Gem is putting up the best fight she can, but void, it’s all too much. Pearl is watching her die. All Gem wants is to go back to safety, where she can curl up in Pearl’s arms and smile and say it’s all fine. She needs it to be over, but she can’t let it end. She can’t let it end, because ending means dying, and it hurts, it all hurts so badly, and Pearl is still screaming. “Come on, Scar, you’ve got this! You can do this!”

Sculk crawls across Gem’s face and creeps up to cover her mouth. She knows it’s her own death coming back to kill her again. She’s running out of time.

“Gem.” Kind hands dig through the sculk, gently beginning to pry her free. “Shh. It’s alright. You’re having a nightmare.”

Gem sobs, still kicking and struggling. She can barely breathe.

“Hey. Hey, shh, it’s alright.” As the familiar voice surrounds Gem, the sculk’s hold on her begins to loosen. “Stop struggling. You don’t need to fight. Fighting won’t end this. Gem spits the bitter sculk out of her mouth and forces herself to address the voice, the one who’s trying to save her, the one who’s always been there. The voice of her partner.

Pearl’s voice.

“Pearl, stop,” Gem murmurs. “It’s not right.” Her energy to fight fades until she falls still, lying back against the corrupted ground. “I can’t…” Her chest hurts. “Don’t save me. It’s not right. This is right. I… I killed…”

Pearl can’t hide a soft gasp – Gem’s first sign that her words are breaking through to the waking world. She brushes her hand across Gem’s forehead. “Never.” Her hands slip under Gem’s shoulders, moving effortlessly through the bonds holding her partner down. “That game is over. We’re here together now. We’re starting fresh. Tomorrow will be tough, but it’ll be alright.” Pearl is still there. She isn’t recoiling in horror. She isn’t afraid. “I’m right here. We’re both still here. Try to wake up.”

Trust blossoms in Gem’s chest alongside a small sunrise light. The nightmare is letting go. She might get out after all. “Don’t let go of me.”

“Wouldn’t dream of it.” Pearl gives Gem the softest, kindest forehead kiss she’s ever felt. It’s a tether to the waking world, a single anchor point. Pearl is her anchor. Pearl is strong. Pearl has won before, has lived this endless field of death, and she’s come out the other side to help others through it. Despite all the carnage, Pearl isn’t leaving. She and Gem will face the next nightmare together.

As the sunrise light spreads across her vision, Gem uses the last of her strength to reach up and wrap her arms around Pearl’s shoulders. With a gentle hug, Pearl pulls her free of the trap.

Gem opens her eyes and looks around at the soft lantern light of Pearl’s bedroom. Pearl is still holding her close. “See? I knew the sleepover was a good idea. Start days are hard. We’ve all dealt with it.”

“Scary,” Gem murmurs softly. “So much sculk. It wouldn’t let go…”

“But it did,” Pearl whispers back, combing her fingers through Gem’s hair. “You’re here now.”

“I’m here now,” Gem repeats, like she’s trying to believe it. “It’s okay.”

“And it’s going to stay that way.” Pearl kisses Gem again. “We’re only halfway through the night, okay? We can still get some sleep.” She lies back down and holds out an inviting arm to Gem. “We will take on tomorrow together.”

Gem curls up against Pearl and closes her eyes. “Thank you.”

Pearl smiles as she wraps her arm around Gem. “For what?”

“For not letting me lose myself.”

Gem’s dreamscape is eerie and quiet for the rest of the night, but every so often, the ambient hum of Pearl’s base breaks though to calm her. Secret Life is over. Every death game ends. Pearl is still there, and so is Gem.

Okay, so I know you're into dream smp, but have ypu heard about the traffic smp??? It's SO GOOD! I watched the finale of the newest season recently and one of the people I was following along with WON! It was super cool but also kinda sad becuase he killed one of his teammates to win and it was so anti-climatic but the winner, Joel, was really good at pvp so it mayde sense. The murder spree he went on the end was just completely unexpected because the entire season Joel was focused on family, right? Like he referred to his allies as family and everything and it was so so cute. Also he made this giant car and grian, the ally he killed to win, like hated it for so long and it's funny because I watched both of their perspectives and it's just grian fuming silently about the car for like three episodes and when they team up Joel makes sure that he is okay with the car!! And Grian just lies to his face. Joel's wife was limited pretty early in the episode and he brings it up occasionally through out. Such a sad boy but he was a bad boy

Joel's focus on family reminds of Scar's need to make friends all the way through secret life, the season before this one. He also wonw without any true friends. Scar was alliance hopping up until like halfway through his episode. Have I mentioned how I love Joel and Grian's interaction because GAH! They're awesome. Bad boys for the soulllll! I probably love them so much because limited life (I have 0 clue what season it is) was the first of the traffic smp that I ever saw, thank @/terrarium-of-mistakes, which I also finally watched all of the way through recently! I get up way to early when I have school at eight forty and I am a heathen that watches yt vids at 2x speed. I'm so hyperfixating. Such a lovely thing when I have finals in like two weeks!

They made an alliance to bully jimmy solidarity gaming they made a ravine and a vault castle just to bully jimmy and they kill each other (in a good way) but then they kill each other (in a bad way) but everything turned out okay in the end after betrayals and angst scenes. Oh where do I START? These three were the original Wither Rose Alliance before Pearl joined them, but even then they already had SO MUCH found family energy. While Gem and Fwhip are canonically siblings, many like to headcanon that Sausage is also related to them - and for a good reason! He has that annoying younger brother vibe; meanwhile, Gem is the Tired older sister and Fwhip is the middle child who loves chaos. They can all be pretty funny and/or deep on their own, but when together, I swear the three of them bring the best AND worst out of each other. For pranks, for lore, for builds, for fights or even just for a very entertaining conversation. They hate each other, they love each other, they were more distraught than ever when their alliance was broken, they spent their last day before the apocalypse together and they can fit so much angst and silly shenanigans inside of them, I had to literally join a server purely dedicated to talking about the Wither Rose Alliance. I could spend hours talking about why they're The Trio Of All Time, but I'll leave it here <3

Dream smp, basically, is a minecraft roleplay server with its own story. Every character gets to tell the story through their own point of view, so depending on who you chose to watch you'll experience the same events completely different, bc every characters perceives things differently (like an unreliable narrator, but you can hear all the sides!!). Some parts and POVs happen on minecraft, which is a very simplified media for storytelling, and some of them were recorded/animated or even written (literally canon content, but posted on ao3 by the creator!)

It has three seasons of lore (if you like Hamilton or history, you'll like it from the start), and LOADS of fanon content, seriously!

One of the main reasons I love dsmp is that most of its content it's about platonic love. Two traumatized brothers who will hurt each other in every way and still can't let go. Three child soldiers who will clingy tightly to each other even after every war. Two anarchist old friends who would give the world to each other. It's perfect. It's rare to find fandoms with this much focus on the platonic relationships and not treat them as "less", y'know?

Dsmp is also great for its amazing AUs and fanfics!! Like Passerine or Tommy's Clinic for Supervillains, which became so famous people made physical copies of it!

Anyway, this got a little long and you probably wanted a short answer, so my bad. I just love this story so much! I love how there are no villains or heroes, and how morally gray and truly complex the characters were, and how realistic it felt despite being literal minecraft?? Like, it's awesome!! second of all, i don't actually read a lot of byler suprisingly enough. you'd think since i write it i'd read it, but i really don't.

i read one of the big ones a few years ago that was set somewhere around season three and i didn't really enjoy it all that much because (shamefully) and i literally can't believe i'm admitting this, but my first stranger things phase came months after my 2020 dream smp phase which is famous for it's fics similarly to the marauders. i read tommyinnit's unbeatable method of avoiding sudden death when i was twelve and have yet to read something so good. the first time a fic made me cry was when i read passerine. every time heatwaves plays on the radio all eyes turn my way. i was a little bit jaded from the dsmp and could never really get into byler fics.

however, last july i read one that's still a work in progress called "cursing my name, wishing I stayed (look at how my tears ricochet)" by mikeslawyer on ao3, which did kind of inspire mine. that one was so good it had be looping last call by elliott smith for an hour and fighting back tears.

In the lore, when The Quixes things start, Icarus tries to learn more correct? And they started seeing the Rave room during dreams and resets and such, when it got more prominent in season two Icarus seemed focused on learning about it, but Quixis started causing more harm than good, not answering questions in the way Icarus had hoped for, it gets worse in season three when even more things start changing, such as things on Icarus’s physical body like the gloves, and possibly their eye (?). (Another warning for spoilers btw cause of recent lore) when Icarus’s wings turn into amethyst and gold and break off, as well as the blocks changing around them reminds us of the downwards mental spiral of looking far to into things to the point you can get confused and it effects your mental and physical state, when the large Fence and obsidian wall show up it reminds us of the yellow door, basically a metaphor possibly of how Icarus has dug to far deep and the door is now closed,they can’t go back to what it could have been if they didn’t dig into Quixis information. The spiral manifests as Illusions, Hallucinations, Patterns, Spirals and fractals. Which is like when Quixis changes the color pattern of Icarus’s house, their house, the area around it, the animals and so on so forth. That is our main reasoning but we will deep dive more into it.

Rae is the Eye, a perfect example. But in skulk arc he could also be a form of Corruption and the Lonely. As we all know Rae is a very big book person, he craves about finding knowledge but not because of that : because of how he constantly thinks he needs to know more because he knows something is beyond him, no matter what it is, if it’s a person or a god or anything like that: and there are plenty of examples of that in the fable Smp series: now for corruption and lonely. The entire skull arc/Warden arc for him. Need I explain more? But he could be the buried as well

So. Here we are. December 24th, wowza.

Honestly, Imma just start out by saying thank you. Thank you to all the people who followed, or liked my work or reblogged, or even just saw it in passing and kept on scrolling. Thank you to anyone who saw any of my friend's work, or even just existed in the mcyt community. Y’all are my inspirations, and I don’t think I would be where I’m at right now without the incredible support I’ve gotten this past year, especially from my friends over on the Desert Life SMP <3

I wasn’t really sure if I actually wanted to post this over here originally. The art I tend to post are the pieces I’m the most proud of. I don’t like posting sketches or unfinished pieces because they feel messy, or like I didn’t try hard enough. But I also think it’s a valuable thing to show progress, and show where you came from as an artist, as short a timeline as 1 year might be.

Funnily enough, when 2024 first hit, I was the least involved in the mcyt community that I’d been since 2020. I hadn’t really watched Secret Life, I was sort of scooting away from the QSMP, and I was barely paying attention to Hermitcraft (dark times, I know). So what was I up to early 2024 in my art journey? Well, I was finishing up my first Outerwilds animatic (which, as of yesterday, just crossed 4k views WHAT THE FU-). It’s strange, because I remember when working on it, I made the choice not to show the main, player, characters face til the very end, which one may classify as stylistic, but nonono, I just really hated drawing humanoids lmao.

When I finally put that animatic to bed, I wanted to pick up a new project, and for some weird reason, even though I wasn’t really even paying attention to the mcyt community at that time, I drafted up a Life Series Winners animatic. And that’s basically the only thing I worked on, February, March, and April. Looking back on all that now, I’m still really proud of what I set out to make. At the time, I know how happy I was with that style, and how excited I’d been when I first figured out how to tween and started attempting a bit of animation. That animatic got me a place on my first MAP, where I met so many wonderful people, many of which are such large parts of my life now. And after that, the year just took off.

throughout June and July, I participated in Art Fight for the first time, and was exposed to so many incredible artists. I went back to using line art, relearned how to shade and utilize color. August hit, and I was convinced to jump on Tumblr. Was that a good decision? Um. Well it certainly fueled the Desert Duo brainrot I’ll tell ya that. In all truth tho, having the ability to show my work to the wider community was something I didn’t really have up until that point, and seeing how excited people were about Wild Life or other mcyt goings-ons was such a cool experience.

If someone walked up to January 2024 Elkin, and showed her the last three months of work I’ve done, I don’t think in her wildest dreams they would ever think it was them who was going to make it. I’m honestly so proud of where I’m at with my art right now, and how far I’ve come over just this past year. Whether it’s through colors, anatomy, composition, effects, I’ve learned so much from so many wonderful people, and I can’t thank them enough for being such large inspirations.

Some notes:

Two new fandoms this month! Aimsey SMP and SOS SMP were both new to the sheet.

Fics are still primarily in english, but we have three exceptions with significant spanish fics. Karmaland (764 of 879 are in spanish, from 751 last month), Tortillaland (110 of 116 are in spanish, from 109 last month), and QSMP (925 of 8,938 are in spanish, from 845 last month.)

QSMP also shows 48 fics in French, up from 47 last month, and 463 in Brasilian Portugese, up from 454 last month. While I did not check every language this month, I checked on the languages I knew had a fic in QSMP and we see 1 fic in Bahasa Malaysia, 1 fic in Dansk (Danish), 2 fic in Deutsch (German), 1 fic in Esperanto, 1 fic in Filipino, 5 works in European Portugese, 2 fics in Polski (Polish), 7 fics in Русский (Russian), 1 fic in Suomi (Finnish), 1 fic in Svenska (Swedish), 1 fic in Tiếng Việt (Vietnamese), and 4 fics in 中文-普通话 國語 (Mandarin Chinese, I believe). While several 한국어 (Korean) speakers were recently added to the QSMP, there are currently no fics in 한글 (written Korean).

In the small and micro-sized fandoms, HBG continued to fluctuate— going up by 5 fics after going down by 7 last month. The fandom that saw the greatest increase was the Slimecicle Cinematic Universe, going up by 8, followed by Kaboodle with an increase of 7.

In the mid-sized fandoms, Aphmau continued to be outstanding with an increase of 37 fics, but the standout was actually Evolution SMP, with an increase of 38!

In the larger fandoms, nobody posted a decrease of fics, so we aren't at last month, but it's still a sea change from earlier in the year. Dream SMP posted an increase of only 113 fics, significantly above last month's -801, but still far below February's 591 and January's 918. QSMP also saw significantly lower numbers, potentially related to the semi-hiatus and business troubles they're having, as they only posted 443 fics, standing in contrast to February, when their increase of 729 was the single largest increase by a single mcyt fandom. Empires' increase of 151 beat last month's 142, 3rd Life's 553 beat last month's 398, and Hermitcraft's 805 was the single largest increase this month, beating last month's 628. Hermitcraft is still in that early-season boom, 3rd life got an april fools instalment, and we are starting to enter exchange season, so that might be contributing to the numbers posted. I'm gonna shoutout Lifesteal, which since breaking the 1000-fic mark in July of last year, has continued to just show steady increase month over month. They're coming up on the 2k mark soon!

Overall, minecraft did see the deletion wave continue, as they went down by 217— a significant drop, but still above last month's staggering drop of 1,555, a loss equal to many full fandoms. Video Blogging RPF as a whole saw an increase of 2,330, much increased from last month's overall increase of only 51 fics, but still reduced from both February's 3,513 and this time last year's 4,182.
