even though the third act was a bit erratic and i would have enjoyed the twist more had nora really been a villain till the end what i really appreciated in do revenge was the subtlety of maya’s acting in the car when she’s telling drea about what happened to her and i was 100% sure the person she was talking about was in fact drea but the writing was so quick to offer cressida’s decoy as a name i was like “ok, maybe i read too much into maya’s little glances to see drea’s reaction”

but then i saw carissa and i was like: “yeah, no some weird shit is going on, she’s pretty ok, but not as luminous and amazing and cool as eleanor made her to be…”

and then you see maya’s face when drea says “wow carissa really did a number on you” and you’re like “IT WAS DREA WHO SPREAD THE RUMOR”

but THEN you actually see eleanor having a great time with drea and actually being heartbroken when she doesn’t reciprocate her friendship in a meaningful way and you think “wait, maybe eleanor is not the mastermind behind all of this” but instead it made PERFECT sense for her to be heartbroken DESPITE the masterplan because it all started from nora having feelings for drea, nora admiring drea so much her whole life crumbled when this person she idolized not only rejected her but hurt her, betrayed her and destroyed her

what i’m saying is: even though the twist was predictable from the start via the acting, directing and casting choices, the red herrings were VERY well placed and worked so well by the end you’re not 100% sure the story’s actually going there

7.5/10 good movie, would watch again

highlight of the movie: sophie’s cameo 10/10 every scene is perfect

she couldn't help the grin that spread over lips. this whole plan of theirs was quite the dramatic, over-the-top event and yet... she was all here for it. especially since it would mean that afterwards they'd be returning off by themselves. more time with drea, more dirt on drea... more opportunity to play her. honestly it was rather fascinating how she had practically told drea everything during that car ride before, and the other girl still hadn't clicked that it was her she'd been talking about.

I thought do revenge was good but also I literally somehow called the plot twist. They shouldve kissed at the end. The two main girls had more romantic build up than either of the other relationships they tried to pawn off on us. It wouldve made so much more sense to make them be together rather than invent these two other love interests who have absolutely no depth to their characters. Drea and eleanor were literally perfect for each other. Plus it's like let's think about the fact that eleanor told drea she was queer when they were younger and drea rected like that. I was immediately like "oh the lesbian girl probably did that bc she was scared and had internalized lesbophobia" but whose to fucking say that's not the reason drea did it. Or at least internalized homophobia. And the fact she didnt bc even rmbr doing it? Bc she REPRESSED THAT SHIT
