These quick doodle lineups weren't showing up my own blog search so I thought I'd re-post them. Then realized, hey, they're kinda hard to actually view, right? 😅

Lineup: Samurai Rabbit: the Usagi Chronicles cast of Kitsune, Chizu and Usagi, then Cody Jones from the 06/07 tmnt03 spinoff Fast Forward. 2nd image: 03 April and Casey, Leo and Usagi, '03 Jotaro and SRTUC Gen. (yes Jotaro is sorta made up for this fic, since we don't know the exact things that go on in 03 usagi's world but we can assume it is loosely based on the canon at the time so I'm just running with it)

(won't tag all characters this time, since the doodles are very undetailed anyway, so if you wanna search these or block em, you can use the tag "usagi x tmnt megaXover" or "UTMX", maybe I'll figure a better name for this later on but... for now, that's it haha)

some of them definitely seem to just not care and just want to write a crossover because Rise crossover fics are really popular. I distinctly saw at least one say They had never actually watched 2012 in the tags of a 12/rise crossover. Which was yikes.

Your Right that back in 2012s heyday there was some conflict between fans of it and older segments of the fandom, but it was nowhere NEAR as bad as Rise kiddos can be. Maybe because the only real criticism in the lead up to release was "ugh, CGI" but generally back then most people just stayed in their lane and enjoyed content for the shows they liked.

Partially i lay that to there not being as much to play with in terms of crossovers back then and crossover fics being a lot rarer. Turtles forever only came out 3 years before, so the idea of the turle multiverse was still pretty young. And aside from the 3 cartoons the only other iterations that were really popular were the 90s movie trilogy and 2007, and a lot of people just treated 2007 as an extension of 2003. And the 90s movies never get a lot of fanwork attention.

The bay movies came out while 12 was airing and were incredibly devisive at first, fanworks hadnt picked up on how amazing the IDW comics were. And even 87 just didnt get much attention in fanworks.

The point of all that Rambling is: If someone was making a crossover, it was almost always 2012/2003, and the people writing them usually clearly liked and respected both shows. And everything was just much more chill in general.

Tho maybe that perspective is influenced by the fact i hadnt been forced to use twitter yet. Like im sure there were haters, but they were rare and never really the type to make fanworks. It was just much more lowkey.

Is it time to bitch more about rise favoritism in tmnt crossovers? I think it is.

This ones a bit stickier and maybe at this point its just personal bitterness but im really at the poijnt where i cant stand any interpretation where the other versions of the turtles are made to feel like them, their families and their lives are lesser and inferior to the rise turtles.

Like... ok i can definitely accept Many other versions being jealous of Rise having the hidden city to run around in and feel normal. Thats valid, tho many other versions of the turtles have their own networks of friends and allies and very real community. The 2003 boys have friends across the city, other planets and other dimensions. They regullarly hang out with new yorks homeless population. Theyre among the most social versions of the turtles aside from rise.

Im just sick of the narrative that Rise are the only version of the turtles that are happy and fullfilled with their lives. And that all other versions are miserable and unfun. Its anotjer thing that makes it feel like the authors of many crossovers either strait up dont watch the non rise shows they put in their crossovers or watch them with extreme blinders on being upset its not more of Rise.

Its a disservice to both Rise being a fresh take on the franchise and the legacy that allowed rise to exist to keep treating past series like this please STOP IT.

RABBIT VS DRAGON 2024

a little new years doodle I've been thinking of doing since new years eve and realizing it's... dragon year right after rabbit year... perfectly matching my 2022 and 2023 cartoon obsessions haha 😂

anyway, these were fun, just a casual crossover! I'm now realizing these kinda look like fighter game screens a la tekken or mortal kombat lol!! hope yall like em too :)

Lineups and outfit ideas for my TMNT x USAGI mega-crossover! Pt 1!

Heyo! so this was done a while ago (summer and a bit of autumn) but I wasn't in the mood to post it yet as I was very busy this past year.

Here we have: Gen, Chizu, Kitsune and Usagi in undercover outfit ideas for when they find themselves in New York city in 2023, where they're found out by a few strange older turtles... and some of the 2003 cast from 2023! Don't worry, I have another sheet for Mikey and Donnie, they are not absent from this crossover :)

for anyone wondering why I didn't change the LAPD into a similar Neo Edo acronym, it's because I don't know what it's called and "keisatsu station" is literally just "police station", so that's how I left it for now ^^

"Pulp Usagi" … or at least my own design of her :)

based on 2 Stan Sakai interviews where he talks about wanting to do different genres of Usagi descendants :) One of them is Pulp Usagi, mentioned in 2015 (Strange Worlds interview) and recently in 2023 in another CBCC interview with Stan and his wife Julie. I was inspired by that newer interview to have my own stab at her design... also we're finally getting the Kagemusha story that Stan mentioned in the previous CBCC interview, so I was excited to hear about that too in this second one.

From the Strange Worlds interview (it is mainly about UY: Senso), where I'd read about Stan wanting to do more stories of Usagi's descendants the 2nd time:

"Usagi versions" fancomic draft

Made this yesterday morning bc I wanted to draw other versions (fan designs) of Yuichi Usagi, been meaning to from before, but then it devolved into a comic draft. I like how this came out x3

Bonus comics at the end! w Spot and auntie + the warmup doodle for this whole thing🐰🦖

The joke is basically that, after falling through a transdimensional rift, Usagi finds himself in a room with other Yuichi Usagi versions. A reference to how the usagi chronicles/rottmnt crossover joint fandom makes up a lot of their own Usagis, either based on the show (Yuichi Usagi), the comic, the other animated versions or just make up a new Rise version for their own fanworks. Although the show version is one of my favourite characters, I always thought that making fandesigns and AUs is really fun and creative in other fandoms I've been in. I'm too lazy to make one myself and like the canon version just fine, but it's cool seeing what other fans do with the concept!

Yup, not much else, but it was fun to draw and come up with things for them to say or do x3

Anyway I just thought it would be a fun excuse to make a fancomic and possibly draw those multiple versions one day, but the comic thumbnailing became too fun so I forgot to use specific versions in the comic. like you can see one page just has a sketch with notes on it referring to it as a gif. I'd like to do that, it could be fun. Another time!

Yuichi and Raph team-up combo! for Raph, I already had a pose in my head, but for Usagi, I thought it would be cool to try 2 poses I associate with him: holding just the yoyo, or holding it in his right hand, spinning it (showing off lol) while the string loop is in his other hand. As always, this sort of doodle was fun to draw out on the transport home, but I haven't drawn at all in a long time so it was especially great to flex my drawing fingers a bit haha :D

maaaan... thinking about doing an animatic for yuinardo/leochi, but i am so out of energy and time this week sdndbdb i don't think ill do it this month

Daft Punk's "Something About Us" is like, a perfect song for how this younger version of tmnt and usagi basically never cross over... and then the last part could transition into 03 leo and usagi bc that's where we've started from with these ships. I'm uninterested in copying the og music video bc I think it's lovely and I enjoy it in a nostalgic way but the "feeling" of it is completely different ^^ (and the yuichi x leo ship is something as made up as many other crossover ships I've drawn before so imo that is something Part of It that I'dlike to incorporate. but I also just want to make smth new for it haha)
