This is a memory of my childhood. With my parents I went to the beach in Croatia. There was another girl. She showed me a swamp and to proof to that’s dangerous to play there, she put her foot into it. Then she stuck in the swamp and I had to help her getting out.

Some warmup sketches. Loosely based on Rapunzel, just to have some subject matter to sketch some poses with. During #lightboxexpo2021 some people asked about exercises to improve posing characters. Beside doing gesture drawing from a model, I consider inventing poses from imagination a great exercise. Don’t spend too long making pretty pictures, but aim your focus at capturing the gesture and feel of the pose. How does thecharacter feel , what are they doing.
